I went through all the posts on bricking, did what others tried but to no avail. I had CyanogenMod on it with TWRP and tried to do a restore (bad idea) that's when it bricked.
I got the stock tar file, used a USB jig to get me into download mode, used Odin 3.7 to flash it, all went smooth but she still hangs on the Samsung logo. I've tried it 3 times, same results.
Do I need a Pit file?
Am I missing anything really obvious and important?
Should I flash a rooted stock tar since it's was rooted before I bricked it?
All the links on the 'Goodies' page for the Note are all dead links now so please don't refer me there.
Thanks for any help.

Turns out the USB issue with Windows 7 Pro (64bit) was the problem. Got it all done on an XP computer I keep as a backup for this very reason.
Stock ICS is working great. No more B.S.O.D.'s Yay!

I'm having the same problem. Trying to put my note back to stock. Now it is also stuck at the samsung logo during bootup. I can't get into recovery mode, tried installing 2 different stock roms and nothing. I have twrp, so I installed cwm to see if I can use that recovery and nope. The only thing I can do is go to download mode. I also tried doing all of this on an XP as I also did this first on Windows 7, and didn't work for me. Someone help please.
Exactly same issue
Hey
I'm having exactly the same issue, only difference I first tried this on Windows 8.1 64bit and then Windows 7 32bit - Still just getting the samsung circled logo on boot.
Did you ever find a solution ?
Should I not use Odin to flash a new ROM?
Help me!!
I'm having the same problem, note t879 lock in logo samsumg, did step by step through odin 2 STOCK ROMS (T879UVLG3, T879UVMA1), the process ends successfully, but the phone restarts and crashes in logo samsumg. anyone have any solutions? help me please

So, this one contains a bootloader (Sbl.bin). maybe thats the cause of the problem. Still, I wonder why it started in the first place and then after some reboots it gets stuck. I tried different Kernels with no luck. Maybe I should try to flash a new bootloader? However, that could brick the device forever.

I have a very similar problem.
I flashed the [ROM] Roto JMI Pre-Rooted Firmware v2 [Feb 4, 2011], and got stuck on the Samsung Boot screen.
Now, I can't even get the Downloading mode to work. It opens fine, but Odin/Heimdall doessn't detect the Tab at all.
Hopefully, someone knows what's going on. If not, I'm taking it back to my carrier, and asking them to fix it (assuming they'll fix it).
Maybe this will help for the bootloader.
Its a bootloader patch. Please read thru the thread. Hope it helps.

Dont get what you mean by that. You cant get it to download mode but your tab start up fine?
Download mode = press vol down + power pn button.
As for odin/heimdall doesnt detect the tab it could be usb port (some reports in android development thread) or could be usb drivers.
As i need to switch usb drivers when i need to flash my tab & my dell streak.
Hope it helps to start you off.

I meant that I can get into Download mode, with the Downloading logo, but doesn't get detected by Odin. And it stays stuck on the Samsung boot logo if turned on normally. Can't get into recovery either.
Before I flashed the Roto ROM, Odin was working perfectly fine. I've been flashing other kernels and ROMs before. But now, the USB doesn't even seem to get detected. It's like nothing is plugged in. Can't even choose to install/uninstall old/new drivers.
I dont think it's the USB port, as I've tried to connect to Odin on 3 different computers, trying every available port on each. It's looking like the USB connector is just dead or something.
My tabs mainboard was broken, it was replaced and now it works again.

Same problem here man. I CAN get in to download mode. Odin recognize it normally. I CAN download normally. Look likes everything is normal, but after update it restarts, but hangs on Galaxy Tab Samsung logo. I've tryed everything with different firmware, custom-roms, hacking things, but with no success.
Can someone please help me?
Same problem here. My tab is stuck at samsung galaxy logo and until now, no one could provide an answer.
I flashed some ROM from samfirmware that must of locked the bootloader (JMF). Then I tried to flash JM6, JMA, JMC, JMK, JJ4, JJ7, JM5, JJ1, JID and almost all ROTO's. with and without pit files using ODIN 1.7. I also tried a stock ROGERS ROM (that i downloaded from this forum) using Heimdall. The tab always boots to samsung galaxy tab logo. I've done alot of reading in this forum and followed many flashing instructions but when applied, it doesn't work for me.
My main concern: is there still hope with the tab ? or it's gone forever.
Is there any specific order that i must follow when flashing ? ( ie, flash one specific ROM before another). The tab was canadian that was flashed to euro.
Thanks for reading my post.
the dbdata file is corrupted.
1) download this file
http://forum.xda-dev...98&d=1290261479
2) extract it
3) use Odin to flash it under the PDA option
-make sure repartition is UNCHECKED
-do not select any pit file
-leave everything else the same

I am interested in rooting too, and I have gingerbread. I have 2 problems though, first, I do not have the 3button combo working. I thought the gingerbread update would fix it, but no luck, and the method I found here did not work. I hear that you should not try to root without the 3 button combo working, but what choice do I have, samsung update did not fix this bootloader problem. I cannot put my phone in download mode without having it plugged in and recognized by adb.
My 2nd problem is that I have a I9000T and it seems nobody has this phone around here so I have no way of knowing if some of the rooting options even work for my phoen and firmeware.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I actually have a i9000t, ive soft bricked a few times as long as you could get into download mode you should be ok, allways keep a stock rom around just incase to flash back to through odin.
Ive flashed a few modem with no problems, few roms with minimal problems..
Cm7 lost radio and weird pixle screen boot.
Deoxidized roms work good.
I had flashed Darkys 9.5 and everything worked till i noticed the stock music player gave me reboots.
I had tried flashing MIUI but no luck at all, could of been my zip. File was messed up but i tried a diffrent and still nothing. Now im on Darky 10.1 final no problems.
This has to be the most stable/fastest rom ive ever flashed.

hi.. do you have official kies installed on your computer?
if so uninstall it first... and installed the unofficial samsung driver.. sorry i cant post link here as am junior member..
you can search in google "samsung usb.rar". Once you download it, then installed it on your computer. Open you odin, put your phone in download mode,
and plug in to computer, then odin should be able to recognize your phone.
Once I have the same problem and it works for me with above step. hope that help.

Thanks for the reply! Ok, I finally manage to have the 3button combo work and get into download mode and recovery mode. I want to root, can you tell me if the odin method works on 2.3.3 stock, on I9000T . Also, How can I fully backup my phone. Which android version did you have when you rooted.
Also, I keep reading those very old threads and I was wondering what the latest Odin version is used for 2.3.3.

Turns out We/I have been using the wrong button combo for download. Download mode is: Vol DOWN+Home+Power On.!!! Recovery mode is Vol UP+Home+Power On. I don't have a galaxy tab, but it should be similliar to my galaxy s. I think your device is NOT bricked. As long as you can get to download mode, your device is NOT bricked. If you can get there, you should try to flash with odin/heimdall again. I think you must have done something wrong in the flashing process. AFAIK the logo is displayed by bootloader (primary), so if nothing went wrong with flashing the secondary one (download mode), you should be able to flash again.
I suspect I will get some jip for this - but I have hurt my Ace from trying to install an IOS5 ROM. I will detail process and attempted fixes below. Please be assured I have spent 3 hours crawling Google before darkening your doorstep with my problems...:crying:
Advice would be hugely appreciated as it's my wife's phone and, well, I'm in trouble,....
1. Installed ROM for IOS5 Black - SGA, via Recovery mode, wipe and install from SD ([ade.htp.ac.id/?p=524[/url]) (also rooted - assuming it worked)
2. Rebooted, the device showed the Samsung logo, an X-Ray hand (I guess it's the programmers logo) and then hung on ANDROID. I left for 25 mins, tried rebooting a few times, tried re-wiping and reinstalling - nothing worked.
3. Read up a bit, downloaded Odin and cooper_v1.0.ops and latest samsung firmware from sammobile
4. Launched Odin, entered Download mode, connected successfully, loaded cooper and firmware as 1 package
5. Checks are okay
6. Start - and it hangs on MIBIB, no progress at all for 30 mins
7. Already tried - redownloading ROM and a new cooper file - no luck. Tried running without Protect Ops - no luck, tried different USB port - no luck
8. The device now does not boot at all and opens straight to an icon of a mobile connecting to a PC. I can enter download mode, and can reconnect to Odin - but the same problem occurs.
9. I did make a backup of my original SD if that's any use, and I have an SD reader/writer to access SD if that is any good to me.
So - gentlemen, how pooped am I?
Ideally I'd liked to boot back to a standard firmware, factory default or equivalent (and then try again with some adhoc ROMS)
System: Windows 8
Phone: S5830
Odin versions: I've tried 4.38 and a couple of older versions.
The only thing I haven't tried is installing XP to run it from there - doubt there's any merit in it but it came up in one article I read.
Help would be warmly received. I'm hoping you all role your eyes and abuse me for not finding the obvious answer elsewhere....

Go here& try for one final luck.
www.themythace.com/flash-stock-rom.html. Be sure to install the mobile device driver before & keep kies shut while flashing. I've tried it & has worked perfectly fine with me & by the way, even my phone was stuck on the screen that showed phone connected to pc on boot So, if followed correctly, nothing should go wrong.

Where there is Odin multi downloader (Android) written,it should start showing Odin multi downloader (GT-S5830) after choosing cooper.ops.

Hey everyone,
I was asked by a friend to update his moms Samsung GT I9000 (stock rom up until now) to Cyanogen.
I've played around with CM before and figured it would be a piece of cake, but I guess I was wrong.
I've followed this guide to the letter:
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_galaxysmtd
Used the semaphore .tar mentioned in the thread and used Heimdall to flash.
All went well untill I tried to reboot into recovery, step 10: I get a bootloop.
Normal reboot ends up in a loop as well, but I can access download.
I've tried to reflash semaphore with both Heimdall and odin. Heimdall says it's worked but doenst get rid of the bootloop, Odin just didnt recognize the device at all.
So I figured I would flash something else, but what?
I downloaded CM recovery from this site: http://clockworkmod.com/rommanager but it doesnt have a flashable image as far as I can see. (Odin doesnt think so anyway and creating a .tar file doesnt help).
And when I checked this thread for the original software http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1640906 the links are broken.
I've also tried the JVU mentioned in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2247484 and found it here http://download.chainfire.eu/132/CF-Root/SGS/, no luck.
Last but not least I downloaded Kies in the hopes of changing the USB drivers, allowing Odin to recognize the device, that helped. Now Odin can flash, but I still end up in the same bootloop.
There must be something I'm missing here. Does anyone have any idea what else I can try?
Yoora
Anyone?
I've been searching through the forums and I can find about a 1000 ways to get download mode working again, but not what to flash once you get there....
I'm really hoping to find something today since I'm supposed to give the phone back tomorrow. So any help is greatly appreciated.
I think its firmware issue you need full firmware I mean pda phone. Csc
Hi all! First of all my name is Matias, I'm new here and I'm no expert modding or repairing phones. I've done some tweaks, flashing some roms in old devices but nothing complicated. I'm happy that this forums exists as I've found helping comments or threads more than once. Today I signed in because I can't solve a problem with a phone I'm trying not to throw away.
I have a Samsung J5 Prime (SG570M) that is stuck in download mode. I have already flashed the stock rom with Odin (both last version) and when the flashing ends, it says 'succesful' in Odin, but when the phone reboots it doesn't boot up, the screen remains black. It's not a bootloop because the samsung logo doesn't even appear. Any suggestion what could it be or what should I do? I already tried changing PC, USB port and cables.
Any help would be awesome, thanks in advance!
