Hey guys!
Just noticed on my Xperia Z, that if I tap with my finger on the upper third (on the back) it sounds like something is loose on the inside. Is that normal? What could it be? Antenna? Sensors?
Btw, it makes it only while tapping on it....not when I shake it like crazy.

On a different forum, a user confirmed that his Xperia Z makes the same noise. While other start to post that theirs doesn't. Could be something normal than. Anyone any idea what it could be? Anyone here that could try it on his Xperia Z?
Sounds like the auto focus to me. Nothing to worry about if so.

Cheers for that! Was kinda worried because wasn't looking forward to get it replaced already
I think its something to do with the nfc connectors, my blackberry z10 does the same noise when taped and when I take back cover off it stops and you can see the connectors of the nfc. And if u tap them it makes the same noise.

Found this video which might shed a light if the noise comes from the nfc connector or the camera
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=3ccFdB91siY#!
At 04:39 it shows it a bit closer the inside. Small but at least very sharp
Just tapped mine & nothing.
It's a common observation across all xperia z units that I've handled thus far so I don't see it to be of any cause of concern yea I've had other phones making rattling noises when being shaked/waved/tapped, my xperia x1 exhibited maracas-like abilities which were attributed to it's vibrator
You mean common as in some devices making that sound and other ones not? Just been to the T-mobile store and we tested it on a Xperia Z they had on display. It did the same sound when tapped on the back
Yes, it isn't a manufacturing defect. Whilst tapping on the front or back (especially towards the upper area of the phone), you'd hear a higher pitched 'tick' sound in addition to the tapping sound, but it's pretty subtle actually on all xperia zs that I've used this far..

Thanks for confirming that. Any chance that you know if it's coming from the camera or the NFC? Just being curious seen that everything works as it's supposed.
And no wonder they start to be sold out in different countries! You have them
You work for Sony or how come that you have used that many Xperia Z
Any body else with the HTC One experiencing a very slight buffer when scrolling e.g in chrome or facebook?
It's not lagging but the scrolling just has a very very slight buffer. Also mine has a very small gap between the screen and power button where the screen meets the side, but it's fine elsewhere. Hardly notice it but it's definately there.
Thinking about swapping it so feedback on these two issues would be great, I see if I can take a photo.

Dont use Chrome but yes the Facebook app has a problem it seems. Every other app is silky smooth so its Facebooks fault and needs updating.
I noticed the very slight judder in Facebook too, so am glad it's a universal issue and not just my handset.
Facebook and chrome are bad apps for scrolling. Switch to chrome beta or Firefox and fiend caster

Hi! Is it just me or the sides look a little yellowish?
Chrome has been a dog with scrolling and font size issues since the last couple of updates.
Noticed the scrolling issue on facebook too on my friends phone and the 3 dots... come on Facebook update your app!
Anybody has the same build issue as me? The photo isn't clear but I assume there should be no gaps?

Yes mine has the same slight gap. Didn't even notice it until I saw the picture. Not an issue as far as I'm concerned to be honest.

If you are talking about the top speaker grill fixed at back side, YES I found it in my one as well but it's not uniform the gap looking more on left side and if I pinch top speaker i can see its moving
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
I have the slight gap too, and wouldn't have noticed until you mentioned it. It's so slight that it's not an issue for me, and a case will cover it anyway so I'm not worried.
But let's keep this thread to the judder issue as in the title
Yes - mine has a similar gap, but more central. There are a couple of other very small misalignments - top left of glass is not flush with the top silver bar and neither is the bottom right silver bar flush with the white body. Poor build quality?
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
I guess the question is whether to take the exchange and risk getting a worse one.
Nobody has said that they have no gaps, so bit concerned there. Anybody know how to change the title of the thread to reflect the build quality issue?

Do you know which apps pop-up the three dots?
I need to know about cloud apps, facebook, FB pages, twitter, google +, and for the book readers- cool, moon...
The other day I was sitting in front of my computer with my One beside me. I checked my phone, turned the screen off and tried to put it away.
In the putting away process, the lighted computer monitor was reflected on my One's screen (which was off and black then), and I noticed horizon stripes on the One's screen.
I put some pictures below to help you guys understand how I got it, though the stripes are not that easy to be caught with my iPad. But you should be able to identify the stripes if you check out the silver part of the reflection.
(Damn, the pictures are upside down)
It is more like a manufacturing process rather than an issue, and the stripes are totally invisible when I use the phone, they are even barely visible under sun lights while the screen is off, however, pretty easy to notice in front of my LCD monitor though.
Again, it is totally no issue for me (and for anybody else I think, because I do not seem to find a thread about this on XDA or Google). I love my One, it is gorgeous and a piece of art. :victory:
I create this thread just to see if anybody else had ever noticed these stripes, or if I am the only "lucky" guy.
FYI, mine is US 32G unlocked model

It's the digitiser, I'm not sure what's bad about it.
There's nothing bad about it. It's normal. On the Xperia Z it is a Grid of dots that are easily visible in light even while the screen is on. Neither phone is broken, and you can't see it on the One unless you really look close on an extremely silly angle.

Well there's at least 3 of these threads actually lol. And yes it's the digitizer. Every phone will have this to some degree but they don't all have the same pattern. Maybe you'll hate me after I tell you this but you can see them very faintly when the screen is on with a pure white background That's what the other threads were about. Not a big deal at all though (you and most didn't even notice them did you? )

Hello fellow Xperia T users..
I have a slight problem.
I have a small smear mark inside my screen...on my Sony Xperia T. It can only be seen in light or white backgrounds...
My phone is second hand, so god knows what the previous user has done to it..
I do not want to send it to Sony for repair due to costs.
So hence I'm asking if anyone can advice.
If I do a screenshot of the screen..the mark is not produced in the picture.
I have checked by taking off the screen protector and cleaning the screen, but the mark is still there...
It's just abit annoying....

You don't seem to know anything about a screen and a screenshot. If you have a dead pixel on a screen, and do a screenshot it will safe the data sent do the screen as a picture.... Mine definitely isn't loose at all. There's no wiggle room in any direction. Tapping lightly doesn't nothing, but pressing firmly gives a nice solid click, just as you would expect.
I'd exchange it through TMO before your window closes. That is, if it bothers you (and it would bother me).

they're all like this. have yet to come into contact with one where there isn't at least a slight bit of movement vertically. i believe this was intended and how it was designed.
@whittikins might want to try putting on glasses and check again. it's an extremely tiny bit of movement, very hard to see unless you're really looking for it.

OP didn't have to look for his. He said that tapping it lightly makes it move and is loose. Mine doesn't and is not loose at all. The only movement I can get is by pressing just enough to not click it and putting pressure up/down (toward the top/bottom of the screen). I can detect a slight movement, but it's silent and not at all like OP describes. Pushing against the edge of the button with my fingernail in any direction doesn't result in any movement. I have to be pressing down and purposely pushing it sideways to see anything.

My home button is firm but it does wiggle a bit.
But whats bothering the most is the battery life!
I also have a black one and just picked it up Sunday here is Australia. I have taken it back and had it replaced as the Mobile provider agreed that it was a fault. The new one now also has the same issue.
I have also found a video on youtube that shows the noise that it makes as it is so loose. www dot youtube dot com/watch?v=Y5FoWeDGQZ4 (not able to post link as I am new)
Contacting Samsung customer support was not much use but they said that it can be sent in to look at but will be charged if no fault it found. I believe it to be Faulty.
this is a massive hassle to be without a phone for who knows how long... not impressed.

Same issue here. The left side of the home button rattles a little bit when i press lightly on it. Should i exchange or is it normal?

My Button wiggles too when i slightly move it up and down, not much but it bother me a lil bit.
Problem is: i rooted my phone and after that the problem occured...
I dont know if they would see the Knox Trigger, cuz its a Materialfault and im in the first 14 Days(Got it 2 Days now).
Maybe i will live with it.I didnt pay for it.
