HTC one frequent reboot - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello my htc one (stock 4.2.2 brand H3G Italy) lately about 3-4 reboots a day, give an example while navigating through the menu and listen to the music restarts, or while it is in stambybay begins to restart for about 5 minutes and then returns to normal operation. I've already performed a factory data reset and it persists, I was wondering if you had a solution or know of this type of matter that has my one. thanks byeee

[Q] Constant Hard Reset Loop

Hi All,
I could use some help.
My phone started crashing when I was trying to answer calls (though not all the time just random calls now and again) about 3 weeks ago. So I thought I'll do a backup and Hard Reset the HTC IncS. However, since then my phone will occasionally boot up but will crash within minutes or gets stuck in a boot loop. The phone is UK Vodafone in original condition, ie no HBOOT or roms have been installed.
When I now try to perform a Hard Reset using the volume down and power buttons it tries to do it then screen goes blank and the only way to get any life is pull the battery, on reinserting the battery and connecting the charger it instantly switches on and tries to re-perform the Hard Reset.
Does anyone have any clues or ideas on what I should do next.
Return it to your place of purchase for repair.

I thought it was 2 years?
Warranty
I'll look into that, but I honestly thought it was a 12 month warranty.

[Q] S5 mini 4.4.2 full stock random freeze/reboots

Hi, i'm trying to find out what is the problem with my friend her samsung s5 mini, (running android 4.4.2, full stock unrooted).
Almost every day her phone freezes for no reaseon and needs battery to be pulled or it simply random reboots while she sleeps and then her alarm doesn't go off in the morning as the phone is waiting for her pin number after restarting (she says turning of the pin is not an option).
Is there someone who found a solution for this or what might cause the problem? i told her to install an app to auto clear background apps and also suggested to take out micro sd card for testing but the problem remained.
Also factory reset didn't solve the problem

This seems to be a common error with the S5 mini. There is a whole thread in the German Android forum about this issue. Also the German Amazon product page for the S5 mini has about 40 users complaining about this problem.
Some users report that the reboots start after some weeks of usage. First it just reboots once per week, then it gets more frequent until it reboots once per day.
Factory resets or firmware updates do not help. Some users sent their phone in for repair but not with huge success.
But not every device is affected by this. So far I did not notice that behavior with my phone (G800F).
I guess it is a hardware issue as not every device is affected and the error gets worse after some time.
The only way to diagnose what's wrong with the device is to check the adb and kernel log (at least the last kernel log before reboot might be available at /proc/last_kmsg). But this would require rooting the device which in turn would void the warranty. It would also be interesting if those reboots also occur with CM 12 (installing this will also void your warranty).
So it seems that sending the device in (without a great chance of repair) is the only option that Samsung gives you without loosing warranty.
Alternatively you also might want to wait for the official Lollipop release and hope that this will fix the problem.
If someone with this problem already rooted his device it would be interesting to get the log files (adb + kernel) of the times of the crashes.
Thanks for your reply, so it might be a hardware problem after all

If a factory reset didnt fixed anything, you could try a RUU. Flashing a ruu will wipe everything, flash everything stock (both firmware and software).
If you still have that problem after flashing a ruu, then its most likely an hardware problem.

Note 5 sometimes freezes while unlocking

I have a weird problem my note 5 freezes sometimes when I try to unlock it and takes at least 8 to 10 seconds. Whatever taps I make during the time the fone is frozen it remains unresponsive but after a few seconds it responds to all the tap commands but after 10 seconds.
But after that initial problem it is perfectly normal and responsive.
How do I fix this issue and is it due to the aggressive ram management that it takes some time to load the home screen etc.
Wanted to know if anyone is facing this same issue and if there is a solution for it.
Thanks
Note 5 sm-920I model
I am also facing the same problem, it happens to me once or twice a day. I have the SM-920C model
have you set fingerprint as ur screen security ?
i've got this problem too. was happening more when i had PIN lock set up. it hasn't really happened in the last couple days so not sure if a bug or anything...
Same issue here. At first I thought it was due to fingerprint unlock. Changed it to PIN unlock and it still happens. It only happens once or twice per day. Also, I experienced random reboot.
Cleaned the system cache and restarted the fone and everything worked fine for a few days than its back to being unresponsive for a few moments again and sometimes I have to soft reset my fone.
Using the fingerprint lock
Sent from my SM-N920I using XDA Free mobile app
Have you tried factory reset yet?
That would be my last resort to use as I have lots of work files and like 20000 photos which are all categorized in folders, time. In backup the categorized stuff gets jumbled. And it's too hectic and long to get it back to the way it was.
FYI I used smartswitch to transfer from note 4 it was n-910c version I think
Okay, my phone is only a few weeks old. I just factory reset it. I'll report how it goes.
Thanks hope this fixes the issue. If it fixes the issue I might have to try to back up and factory reset too. Out of curiosity which region is your phone mine is from Singapore. Note 5 64gb is not available in my region so bought the unlocked one online.
I'm from Singapore. I got the 64gb too.
I got the UAE 32GB Note 5 btw, and i'm also facing this issue. For some reason, I felt it was the S-View cover the culprit here....
I doubt so cause I don't use the S-View cover.
Same issue for me as well. Recently bought note 5 - 64gb and it freeze for few second when i press the home button (fingerprint) . Its irritating especially when you need to use the phone urgently. Wonder what is the problem. Anyone reset factory and its working fine ? From Singapore
Ok this is what worked for me.
1- Turn off your note 5
2- Press the volume up button and home button together
3- while keeping it pressed Press the power button
4-It will open The system screen find cache and clear it- (DO NOT DO ANYTHING ELSE) once its done choose the restart option
5- I also got a 33 to 40 mb update yesterday. Do not update from the fone use smart switch to update it will download a 1.4gb file meaning it will reinstall the system.
My fone for 2 days now is not freezing. before the problem occurred at least 5 to 6 times a day.
Just in case make a backup although i didn't loose any
data .
Let me know if it works for any of you.
Good to hear. It's my third day since I factory reset and no issues so far. Let's monitor after a few weeks if the problem returns. If it does, it might have something to do with the system cache or something.
What models are you using perhaps it's a particular model?
SM-N920I
Installed a software update version N920IDVU1A0H6/N920IOLC1AOH2/N90IDVU1AOH3 (39mb) and the issue happened again.
I just got my note 5 two days ago and im experiencing the same

HTC Desire 510 Boost Mobile Help!

Good Day everyone! I own an HTC Desire 510 from Boost Mobile, currently and only running stock. I have not modified or damaged the phone in anyway. I think im running Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) with idk what htc sence... but anyways this problem happened today in the afternoon. I usually leave my phone on my work desk and use it during my lunch time . On my way home, i plugged in my phone to listen to some Pandora, and i noticed that it turned off and started up again! I got home and took out the sim micro sd and battery. I restared the phone and whenever this thing called Qualcomm iZat Location Services notification pops up, my phone automatically reboots, and does the cycle over and over again. I already tried disabling the services but still no luck. I only had it for a month and its already failing me!:crying: anyone have any ideas on what it could be Hardware or software issues?
P.S. I cant check the system info because i can only be so long in the phone before it reboots, and i already tried safe mode with no luck:crying:
P.P.S Sorry if i posted in wrong thread/section im new here
Sorry for the long story

You're going to need to root your device so you can install a kernel with write protection removed so you can delete the offending app. If you just delete the app without rooting the device first and changing the kernel, the minute you reboot, it's going to reinstall all by itself with no input from you.
general directions to stop that stock app from crashing your phone,
1. Enter Recovery,
2. Factory Reset
3. Prior to getting online to update your apps disable that particular app from settings
or
1. Unlock HTC Bootloader
2. Flash Recovery
-in recovery
3. Factory Reset
4. Install compatible ROM (sprint ones here work for for boost AFAIK)
5. Install Gapps (optional)
6. root on prompt when you press reboot to system
might be a easier way but that's how I would go about it.
Fixed it with a Factory Reset
thank you all for the replies
Thank everyone for the ideas. Unfortunally i couldn't even root the phone so i had factory reset it ohh well thank you all......sorry for the late reply
