Conclusion:
I have bought it from magic-sim.com and found that the item is fake and wastage of money.
I had returned it to magic-sim and it cost me 15USD to ship it back which is quit expensive.
I have been insisting them to return me my money but they kept offering replacement. Even it fits in their refund policy(http://www.magic-sim.com/legals.php)
Warning! Do not buy this fake Magic-SIM.

Hmmm, odd, I purchased one in March for £24.73 from Magic-Sim.com and it seems to be genuine.
It came in its 'magic-sim' packaging with instructions and works very well, despite my N7105 being rooted and all.
Switching SIMs tends to work 80% of the time (it works 100% if you use airplane mode to force it to switch), and was able to get 4g speeds on both SIMs.
The only thing I could fault it on, was that inserting it in the Micro SIM card slot isn't easy; but that's to be expected, given the limited space for both it and the Micro-SIM.
Using it with Multisim, works quite well in that it allows you to assign specific notification bar icons for each SIM, providing you with an easy way to identify which SIM you've got enabled at the time. It's widget works some of the time, as its tends to activate/deactivate airplane mode rather too quickly, thus not giving it enough time to force the SIM switch.

The build quality and the price.
I tried to make it work but it didn't.
It isn't a successful gadget.

I am going through that now. They told me that rooted phones not supported & wouldn't give me a refund. But luckily I paid with PayPal, & filed a dispute, Told me take at least 10 days, but not even 24 hours later it was found in my favor. I have to send back, not sure how much will cost doing that later today.

I did a quick Lil review on it before I returned it. Cost was just under $8 via usps first class to United kingdom.

Thanks for the reply.
Those Magic-SIM morons didn't tell me this.
I bought it and I am still regretting.
I had shipped it back but they didn't ship the replacement nor refunded my money.

Don't feel bad they didn't tell me till I mention refund, then they tell you, then say you voided warranty by putting in phone. Luckily I paid with PayPal. They should mention that, but don't. Just to get the money then say no can't work with phone & now no refund. Costed me just shy of 8usd to ship back. So not bad.

Still no refund or replacement.
I'd paid using Sage Pay.

They are not nice people, they are scammers. They did the same thing with me: they told me to ship back the defective item and they never sent me back a replacement or refund as I asked. They stopped answering emails and I had to file a PayPal claim that is still in the process.
They should not be allowed to do business anymore and PayPal should stop the service with them.

Don't buy that stupid Magic-SIM.

Magicsim is pure scam
I ordered one Magicsim adapter for my Samsung Galaxy S4, it didn't work, I was sure being unlucky with this one. Stupid me I ordered another one and it didn't work as well. I sent both to Magicsim to get my money back, after two mails I understood I lost the money.
You're dealing with a bunch of crooks!!!

many thanks

I have a samsung note 3 and I've bought the magic-sim adapter because I need to use two sim cards. So,I have I placed my sim cards into the slots. I think that I have placed the two sim cards correctly because I can place calls, but only with the sim card n. 1. The problem comes with the app. Infact when I click on the "SIM Toolkit",it says "no service available"....

[Q] Replacing charging port

The charging port on my Galaxy Exhibit II is not working. Anyone know of a manual or video on how to replace it?
Thanks for any help in advance.
Temple
Assuming it's the USB port itself, forget it. I was able to solder a wire to the port by no small miracle, the leads are barely bigger than a pinhead. Replacing the port may be more possible than modifying it, but only continue if you're really good at fine soldering. Otherwise, well, the Nexus 4 is a beautiful phone....
EDIT:
Another option would be an external charger like this one- works a treat when I'm too lazy to plug my phone in. Just note the shipping time is like 3 weeks.

I wondered if this was a Chinese sweat shop kind of operation. My soldering skills are rusty and when good are more thumb than index.
I promised this phone to my daughter if I got a new one, and oddly enough I was looking at the Nexus 4 on Google Play just yesterday.
Seems like the most reasonably priced path to Jelly Bean, so I will give it a good look. Didn't see in the specs anything about an Micro SD expansion port. Would like to get something I could plug a 64gb in. I love the Note II, but the price on those is too high. I have an external charger like the one in the link. Got mine on eBay with a gel case, 2 batteries, 2 screen savers the AC external charger which also had a USB port and cable which allowed me to charge one in the charger and one in the phone. I only paid 13.95 I think for the bundle. I bought 2 more batteries from them direct through PayPal, with 2 styli and 2 3 foot USB sync/charge cables for 9 bucks including shipping. The shipping was a little slower but the price was great. My next move is to find a great calling plan. Right now I'm on a prepaid per minute plan from Ptel which is a T-Mobile re-seller. I seem to pay about 20-30 bucks a month, so I'm trying to get a plan in that range unlimited. I know most will think that's crazy, but I think it's crazy we pay more. Straight Talk which is a prepaid brand that TracPhone sells through WalMart, has come out with a cell based home service. It uses a cell "router" a cell box you locate in a place in your home where it can get good cell reception. Plug it into a power outlet, plug in a cordless phone base and you have home service for 15 bucks a month....no contract! If I buy my phone, tell me why the major carriers couldn't give me a plan like that on a cell. The home plan has nation wide unlimited talk, call waiting VM, and 3-way for that price. This is a cell, so why not on my cell? Because we are idiots and give them more, much more. We take their "FREE" phones which we end up paying a small fortune for, in monthly fees and add-ons. No one in their right mind would pay their home ISP extra to use a phone, laptop or tablet on the WIFI in their home network. But everyday I see people paying 20, 30 dollars extra to use the internet on their cells, on their laptop or tablet. Why does how you pay change because its a cell? Why would you pay extra for something on a cell that you would never pay extra for at home? I was eating a Sonic last year with my daughters. It was a nice day so we ate on the outside dining area. I hit the buzzer to request a refill on our soda's and they said it would be 65 cents. I refused of course and now I often stop at Circle K (our version of 7-11) and get a 44 oz for 75 cents. I eat the burgers from Sonic and drink my soda from Circle K. Best way to end this madness, is to vote with your wallet.

Being a dealer maybe you can give me a little info on something that may be out of your area....I found a company Life Wireless that does the life line cell phones. They like most offer an upgraded plan where for around 30 bucks you get unlimited talk and text nation wide. They work through AT&T so my Exhibit would work with their sim. But the Nexus has a micro sim, so I'm not sure if that would work. My understanding was that there is a sim cutter that will cut a standard sim down to micro size. Is this correct? Also is there a life line service on T-Mobile's network? I will probably hang with charging my Exhibit with the external charger I'm using now. The Nexus does not have a card slot and I would find the 8-16gb built in limiting. I wish the Straight Talk home base unit used a sim. Although I'm sure they would figure out from the changing towers what was going on.....

The exhibit will work with life wireless long as its unlocked and yes a sim cutter will cut a sim card down to a micro sim. T-Mobile doesn't offer a life line program directly like at&t does. in all honestly im really liking the new s4 it has some really good battery life for running android 4.2 plus the new s voices is very useful in car mode. Straight talk offers cellular coverage i beleive its 45 dollars unlimited everything and again it will work on the exhibit long as its unlocked and change your access point for data.

I tried to root the Exhibit using several tools and was unable to get it rooted. I switched from T-Mobile's sim to one from Ptel, a T-Mobile re-seller.
The sim switch worked so I guess it should work with Life Wireless. What is the name of AT&T's direct life line offering? Also are sim cutters fairly simple to use? Also the Exhibit has in it's menu, the option to use as GSM or CDMA. So I guess it could even work on Verizon or Sprint.
Although they would have to connect it to the network.
Contract replacement
I have been looking at the S4, Nexus 4 and HTC One. I was thinking about getting one of those with a contract and buying out the contract and keeping the phone. That seems to be the cheapest way to get a top phone at a good price new. They want a small fortune for the unlocked units charging a premium markup. Would there be any pitfalls from buying this way that I may have missed?

T-Mobile is now an under carrier so they did away with contracts so now there month to month you can finance your phone through them its a 48 month term but you can pay off your phone anytime. S4 and htc one are my choices but i tried them both ( store demos) and the htc one battery is not as good as the s4. I beleive the s4 is 100 down then you pay your monthly payments. If you go to at&t and ask them about there life line service theyll see if you qualify. Only reseason unlocking is so expensive right now is because its illegal only applying to those customers that got there phone free or at an discounted price after Jan.26,2013. Rooting your exhibiit is pretty easy you dont need tools like superone click or ginger root they wont work flash cmw and this http://d-h.st/s9X flash cwm first then reboot then go into recovery then flash the zip if you see super su or super user its rooted then you can flash any rom you want fyi jelly bean roms dont get good battery life but if you use an extended battery youll be fine. Sim cutter is fairly easy to use only goofed up once only because the customer was nagging me with the same question over and over lol

Wcdma works with GSM let's say you use your phone in a area like australlia were they use wcdma that spectrum allow your device to use gsm to operatate on there spectrum.
Basicly all thoughs setting would do is you can switch over to use a different network if you dont if you don't have network somewhere.

It seems the exhibit is prone to this problem, many users have charging port issues, including me. I had to charge the battery using another Samsung phone, I'll be buying that external charger soon.

i was having a bit of charging issues too, I just pulled that baby apart with the intention of replacing the charging port but then i realized it was intact so i used some all purpose thinner along with a toothbrush to clean the charging port.
NB: be careful im a technician, watch YouTube videos on how to disassemble if you are unsure. :highfive:
There are some universal external chargers on eBay and Amazon. They let you move the charging contact pins to fit "almost" any battery. They cost under ten bucks with shipping for most.

T-Mobile Retail Note 4 Retail Box Printed in USA

I purchased a Note 4 from T-Mobile's website. The back of the sleeve states Printed in USA. And the box states Printed in the USA. Box Made in Mexico. Also, the Android logo on the back of the box looks different from the box made in Vietnam. According to the package, the phone was packaged / manufactured 12/12/2014.
Somethings not ringing here. From all the unboxing videos of the T-Mobile Note 4 I came across online and in-store, they all state Printed in Vietnam on the back of the box.
Is this a repackaged Note 4?
Would greatly appreciate clarification here. Thanks

That app will show you usage history. If its repackaged used phone you probably will find that headphones or battery charger were attached more than once.

Actual Manufacturing Date is set to December 9th, 2014. I noticed the Charger Connect count is '3' and Headset Connect Counter is '6'. But I never plugged in the charger yet; I just got the phone. What gives?
Also, I have the latest firmware preinstalled. I didn't have to perform any updates out of the box.
Now seriously, what gives, the count is more than '1'. What is this suppose to indicate. This is a legality issue. How is it that no one has addressed this yet.
Whats also funny is that the plastics that conceal the condition of the phone; only one side of the phone is covered in plastic, all other three sides are not and were exposed upon opening the seals of the box. I found a couple of micro-scratches in the bottom part of the metallic edges
Had a quality chat with Samsung just now. It appears the counter is set by the quality control checks at the manufacturing facility.
The ultimate question now is do the carriers have software to over-ride the build-date of a device?
Does the phone work well? Are you happy with the performance and style and so on? If the answer is yes, then why are you worried about it? IMHO you must have bigger fish to fry. Besides; if your here, you most likely mod your phone so a warranty is irrelevant.
I know you wouldn't try and return your phone and hide that you have been modifying it. I mean based on your reaction to t-mo, I doubt you would do that to them.
Oh and mine was printed in Vietnam.
I bet this is a refurbished phone.
Flashed all nicely at a T-Mobile warehouse and sent out to the stores would be my guess.
Did Samsung verify it's authenticity for you?
Doesn't matter it's still a note 4
Samsung does verify its authenticity on its own website. Showing December 11, 2014 (after inputting IMEI #)
Box label shows December 12, 2014
Phone Info * SAMSUNG Shows December 9th, 2014
Samsung explained me the logistics last night. Carriers certain quantity of phones from Samsung to meet demands--> Carrier receive phone orders in bulk, all in one box--> and repackages them into their own Carrier Boxes. Take AT&T for example, the worst of them all. Whereas T-Mobile, Sprint, and Verizon play along by copying the design of the original Samsung boxes and uses cheap labor to print the boxes at the country of manufacture of their ordered devices. Who knows, your devices may very well be treated the same as well.
But the question remains, DO THE CARRIERS HAVE THE ABILITY TO OVERRIDE THE MANUFACTURING DATES ON THE PHONES? IF DO, THIS IS UNETHICAL.
T-Mobile most likely signed cheap labor in Vietnam to print on empty light brown boxes and had them shipped to the states for repackaging the phones. After a certain quantity, decided it would be best to print them within the states to save on logistical import fees, fair enough.
I myself have seen the white and blue boxes that Samsung was referring to. I've seen them in Service Centers overseas in Asia.
But Carriers are just plainly insane.

The reason I make a big deal about this is really because of the amount we all pay. We all are paying a premium for these devices (for the most part) and deserve the right thing. Otherwise, I'd be more than happy to pay $200max for the device I received, not the whooping $750 (oh and the taxes are extra well).
Dude you have a phone that works. That is all you need. You rooted the phone isn't that unethical . Just be happy it works for you and you have no major issues with it.
BAD ASS NOTE 4
But I haven't rooted the phone yet. And besides, it is our right to do whatever we want with the devices, as long as we don't brick it.
I mean, how many customers are even aware of the Diagnostic Code *#0*# to check their devices for defects upon receiving the device; Verizon disables this command, which is insane.
Reality Check, you don't get what you pay for.
A Samsung rep once told me, "I'm not the average consumer" Uh-Oh

And it is their right to do what they will with the phones. You not buying from Samsung you buying from t mobile who needs to add stuff to phone and sim cards and all. Your phone works be happy .
Yes it is your phone once it paid in full. If you did payments it not yours till us pay that last bill.
So either way it is a working device free of issues and bugs.
BAD ASS NOTE 4
Maybe you have latest batch of the phones and from now they all will look like that. Mine Note's hardware revision is 1.1. Your's may have higher number and you are lucky owner of latest and greatest.
Sent from my SM-N910T using XDA Free mobile app
Mine has the same hardware revision as well, but doesn't have much of the issues others have reported, such as the fingerprint scanner and camera focus issues. The only issue is the purple tint on the left side of the display and a couple of microscratches on the metal edges (probably the way it way handled during the handling process at the warehouse); I didn't see all four sides covered in plastic wrap.

I would like to see what others think of this as well. I've had a worse experience with the AT&T Note 4.
It would be interesting to get John Legere's response to this matter as well. This is not a uncarrier move.
For the price I paid for the device, I can get a one way flight and get what I pay for just right.

UK Release?

Has anyone got any idea if this will be available in the UK any time soon?
I've been wondering the same thing since they announced it.
Getting annoyed about the issue to be honest!

I've jumped ship...
I ordered the Huawei watch 2 from Amazon.
Releasing on 3rd may.
I have been checking very website I can think of since 10th FEB when LG said it was coming to the UK 'in the coming weeks'. Become a bit of an obession really now and it's driving me mad!!. Considered ordering from he US but works out very expensive. Tempted just to go for the Huawei watch but don't like it as much as the LG. I've live chatted and called LG, LG newsroom, AT&T, LG press team UK, Best BUY US, Google wear team and still no solid answer. Come on LG release it in the UK!!!

Hehe you and me both!!
I'm still checking but I've pre ordered the Huawei. Being delivered on Wednesday.
If I don't like it and LG releases in 30 days then happy days.
They're also giving away free wireless headphones as well with the pre order.
Got mine!
I got sick of waiting, tried some American resellers who all say the watch is unavailable in America so it seems it's a worldwide issue.
I managed to find a supplier on eBay, shipping directly from Korea. Paypal charged me a stupid conversion rate but I thought it was still worth paying £400 plus £88 import duty. It arrived five days later and I have to say, it well worth waiting for!

Got my Huawei watch today.
It's very nice but I'm thinking the screen is a tad too small.
It would have been nice had the bezels rotated but well worth the money..

Which model did you get specifically and how is your GSM reception (assuming you tried putting SIM into it)? I'm asking, because these US-watches does not seem to support all GSM bands here in europe.

I've just brought back to the UK from the USA the AT&T version.
Great watch, works very well taking and making calls when linked via Bluetooth to my phone.
However, I've tried various nano SIM cards inside it, but with no success so far.
I don't think it is SIM locked, for it does not say so when you insert the SIM, but when you look at the SIM status, it says 'out of service' but does list the phone number/voicemail number/AP etc so again indicates that it is unlocked.
So far I've tried EE, Three, and giffgaff sims.
Looking at the frequency compatibility it should work on either 2G or 3G, but not LTE (I realise that), and you can select 3G instead of LTE on the watch menu.
It is not a deal breaker for me, but it would be 'nice' if I can use it independently with its own SIM, if required.
Did you get yours working?
Thanks,
Mike.
But wouldn't that mean that you can use it with 3G network?
I'm thinking you might need to get at the apn settings, no idea how that would be done as I couldn't figure out any way to access them.

I am coming to the conclusion that the watch is not compatible in the UK/Europe and that the info on various web sites such as frequency check, stating that the watch is compatible with UK/European 2G/3G frequencies are incorrect (900/2100) and the watch is unfortunately limited to the US 2G/3G frequencies 850/1900. I'll have another go, but I'm not hopeful.
On the positive side, it does work very well when tethered to my smartphone, both for making calls and receiving them, the speaker on the watch is very loud and clear. Today I had my Sony Xperia Ultra tooked away in my jacketed pocket, and took several calls on the watch outside in a rally field while walking around outside.
The general quality of the watch is superb, its a solid chunk of stainless steel, very futuristic and clean cut, and the watch face is large and clear, with I believe one of the biggest diameter and the highest resolution, higher than the new TAG Connected 45 even, and that still does not have a speaker or heart rate monitor!
The other alternative is the new Huawei watch 2 if you really want a 3G/LTE watch in the UK. However reports are that the build quality is not a patch on the LG, the screen is smaller and lower resolution, and no rotating watch crown like the LG which works great.
Battery drain is not all doom and gloom either on the LG, i'm easily managing a full day no problem.
So in conclusion, i'm still happy.

Nice to hear you're enjoying using it. Still waiting for a UK release, which could be a long way off yet. Tempted by the Huawei watch 2 on amazon just not as keen on it. ve the idea of the scrolling crown for navigation and really put off by the 1.2" screen. Trying to get any info on a UK release from any source is near on impossible. Keep us posted if you have any luck using the 3G or GSM frequencies.
What is the hold up? Not heard a word since the initial announcement! At this rate we won't even get the Style in the UK.
I was hoping to purchase as a gift in May. Not going to happen! Argh!

I hope the watch gets released in the UK soon, I don't want an imported one with questionable warranty coverage.
The Style has been available in Canada for over a week now so I hope that means we should get some movement soon.. although I hope it's not the Style only available here like in Canada. I want the Sport! [emoji4]

I've been able to trick a few gas stations, I put in either my Drivers license or my credit card in backwards then pull it out quick and immediately put your phone up to the pump.
If you are gonna do that, why not just use a credit card? Seems like twice as many steps for the same result.

Points. Anyway, I've noticed that places that fail with the note 8...works with the Gear s3. Weird.
There are some retailers that will reject Samsung pay even if there is no technical reason to do so, should work does not mean it will work. I know off the top of my head Costco does not allow Samsung pay using MST (though I have not come across a Costco that has NFC).
At issue might be that if the retailer has chip and pin setup, then it will outright reject MST transactions if the card being used supports chip and pin.
I also suspect, and this is pure conjecture on my behalf, it has something to do with the tokenization and the inability to track spending patterns (if i recall gas stations are highly susceptible to false positive that anti-fraudulent algorithm detection uses) .

I thought it was the chip Samsung and capital one say it's not. It's really not that big of a deal that it don't work I cross the on as that don't out of my places to shop. If I can get points for purchasing stuff I already was going to purchase for later to get 100 dollar gift cards 6 months later I'm going to do it.
Wish wish there was a way to know where it works and what don't I deal embarrassed when it gets declined
I use American Express and it works pretty much everywhere. But in NY it's basically a law to have Android/Apple/ and samsung pay support in every store. I use both forms of Samsung pay and it works basically every time. I'll give Android pay a shot sometime but not for a little while mainly because Samsung pays little swipe up for debit card use is awesome. Also I should say that in my experience (earlier today at a dollar general) I was having issues with the mst. But I found out it was due to placement. Also my note 8 froze the cashier computer so we had to reboot the computer and try it and it all worked great. So if you have issues just see if it's a placement issue.

T-Mobile OnePlus 6T Trade In Offer: Expires November 8th

Hi all!
I just wanted to share this support article page I found while searching more extensively into the $300 off at T-Mobile for their variant of the 6T. According to it, the promotion will be ending on November 8th.

If you have the imei of the old phone, you can order the 6t now and you have 30 days to send in the old phone.

When I bought mine at the store on the day of Tmo's launch, they told me that if I purchased in the store, I had to have the trade in phone with me, at that time to trade in.
If I would have waited for the phone to come in the mail, Tmo would include a pre-paid postage label as well as a 30 day window to send it in. Not sure if this was just a way to keep my business in the store or not
I went to the T mobile store with my One Plus One phone for trade in. The phone actually had a problem. The sim tray is gone and a part of my previous sim is stuck inside the sim slot. So the phone is kind of useless for me. Other than that the phone doesnt have any problem.
The t mobile employee checked the below
- Whether display is working fine
- What is the model number of the phone
- Connected to charger and checked whether the charging is working fine
He didn't check the sim tray
After that he gave me the prepaid label and envelope and asked me to send it to T mobile.
Does this mean I got lucky and they approved my trade in phone?
Or will there be another set of inspection once this phone reaches T mobile. If so and if they found the sim tray / slot issue , will they deny the trade in offer for me?
From what I heard they do a much more thorough inspection when u mail it back and they can reject the trade in unless the rep approved it in store already.

The only reason I went with T Mobile is because of this Trade in offer
So they give you paperwork if the phone had water damage, if the screen is cracked, of the device can power on, if the device is locked to a user. I traded in my OnePlus 2 and it didn't have a great charge for the battery but it easily passed.
To answer the question, all the person in the store does is enter the IMEI number. Once they do that, TMobile sends you an email stating you have 30 days to send it back. They give you postage in your email which you can print out.
The in store person doesn't approve it per say, just they make sure the IMEI matches what they have in the computer.
I didn't have my OnePlus 2 in hand but had a family member and me the IMEI and I gave it to them. Then thinking they would send it, I brought it back later only for them to tell me to print out the postage and mail it myself.

My trade in was approved in store..no paperwork..they checked for water damage etc. got the credit show up to my bill in the erp section along with 50 dollars upfront. So yes reps can approve it directly at a corporate retail store. Not sure about authorized resellers.

If you have an eligible device for trade-in, I'd go that route (EIP).
I would have, but, I didn't have a trade-in, so, JOD was my next best option, only $30 out of pocket in-store & i was on my way.
There's no guarantee that T-Mobile will carry the OP7, could be they only do the T models, or, perhaps, this is a one & done deal, no one really knows at this point.
Worse case scenario for you is you'll have a brand new OP6T at less than ½ of MSRP & if you find it's not for you, you could still sell it & come out ahead.

Thanks. I have a OnePlus One or Pixel 2 XL to trade in. But I still don't have a clear answer on a few things:
* What happens to the credits if I JUMP next November or earlier when I make enough device payments in advance?
* What is the payoff for a SIM unlock? $280 or $580?

You get the bill credits regardless, but,I'd wait until you actually see them before paying off the device in full.
The bill credits actually go towards your entire bill,so, they'll continue until they expire.
As for the SIM Unlock, technically, you need to have the phone for 40 days & pay off the balance ($280),but,a lot of people have had success in getting it already, some still owing on the balance.
I'd call 611 & talk to your regional Team of Experts if you want to try your luck, they're more helpful than the Twitter & chat B.S....
