Please Help with Motorola! - Motorola Droid and Milestone Q&A, Help & Troublesh

Hi.
Am using Motorola Milestone (A853) running on Cyanogenmod 7.
Am having a telephony problem since few days and my mobile frequently is having this error and asking for a reboot. Error image is attached below.
I have installed Vulnerable recovery, Open recovery (2nd boot).
When I had this problem, I reinstalled open recovery, wiped dalvic cache, external partition cache but still am getting this error.
Please help me to fix this.
Thank you.

CM Nightly and Google Apps

I know you don't have to wipe to upgrade to a CM nightly, but should I get Google Apps again when prompted to in ClockworkMod?

If it's the same version that you already have, then there's no point...
If it's a newer version, then go for it...
Latest version can usually be found here:

Thanks a lot. I need my flashing fix so I'm going to start doing nightlies. I just can't wait for final.

Flashed it without the GAPPS and upon rebooting they weren't there. I just downloaded them from the link, flashed, and now I'm setting them up. I guess it deletes all of your login info. No biggie, easy stuff.
Sorry, if you're doing a full wipe, then you will need to reflash the gapps. I seldom wipe on the nightlies...

Oh no I didn't wipe, that's why I thought it was strange. No biggie.

its a RM shortcoming.. you have to select gapps at that prompt or reboot into recover and manually flash just the ROM.. otherwise your gapps dont survive
Got it!

I was looking at the Cyanogen site, and few people have been commenting on some of the latest nightlies removing the gapps (presumably overwriting the whole system folder).
No biggie, and not a common occurrence...

need help on cwm
hi, im some what new to this and im having some problems with wcm on mytouch 4g... well had the phone working great and i when to try out a new rom called synergy-rc1 i booted in to recovery then wipe data/ factory reset then wiped cache partition and also wipe Dalvik cache then installed from sc card like before everything was going great then restarted the phone after it completed the install and it booted into the synergy rom screen then it sat there for about 10min and it restarted again and it keaps looping over. restarted in to recovery (cwm ) and tried to do a a factery reset and clear cache and this is what i got and i cant even do a restore.
clockworkmod recovery v5.0.2.0
checking MD5 sums...
Erasing boot before restore...
restoring boot image...
restoring system...
Error while formatting /system!
any help would be appreciated [email protected]
probably a corrupt sd partition.
cwm is known top do that..
try formatting your sd card after saving the content to your pc first.
after format move stuffs back
I would go ask this question in the mytouch 4G section you will probably get better answers.

[ROM]CyanAOSP v0.5.2 (NEED HELP)

Here's the problem can anyone help me upon this.
I was using Cynogen Nightly 9.1 version then I saw [ROM][JB][4.2.1][18/01/13] CyanAOSP v0.5.2 [Stable | For Gaming] seems amazing so then I downloaded and installed successfully. Everything seemed okay but as the ROM started it was giving me a constant error which was like "Wizard stopped working" I was totally unable to get my hands on this rom.
So I then updated my rom again to cyanogen 10.1 Nightly.
my question is should install it now will it work fine?
AW: [ROM]CyanAOSP v0.5.2 (NEED HELP)
I think something went wrong when you installed the first time.
Follow this steps and it should work:
1. Backup your data
2. Enter recovery
3. Wipe data/factory reset
2. Wipe Cache
3. Wipe Dalvik Cache
4. Under mounts and storage --> format/system
5. Then install the zip
6. Enjoy

Hi, I also tried the ROM and got the same message (setup wizard...)as you did. After all the "wipes" and format "system" and "datadata" i also made the error of formating SDcard.
Now I have my phone in Restart loop showing Galaxy S logo and then SEMAPHORE....and loop.....and loop....
Sugestions?
Thanks in advance

If you can enter recovery try to wipe data and install again ( under mounts and storage you can mount USB and put files on your sd)
If you can't enter recovry you have to flash GB over Odin

[Q] i9001 crashed, not starting anymore

Today i had my phone on the charging cable. Reactivated it: everything crashed: trebuchet crashed / sms crashed /whatsapp crashed.
So i took the battery out, tried to restart it. It won't boot, just the Cyanogenmod Circle for 5min+.
Flashed again, same result. Flashed new rom (from davidteri 10.1.0 RC to 10.2 Beta 9.) but now it's stuck at Android is updating / Starting Apps (maybe it's called different, just translating from german).
Any ideas / thougts??
You can't just install cm10.2 over cm10.1 without wiping data. It's a different android version. Try to install cm10.1 again and wipe cache and dalvik cache and fix permissions. If that doesn't work, then I'm sorry but you have to wipe data. If this is the case, do a nandroid-backup. After installing the new rom you can use titanium backup or AppExtractor to extract your apps out of the backup
Greetings, käsebr0t.

Did that, but the problem occured earlyer...
So i went to and seen in log: "can't format unknown volume /emmc", does that mean brick bug got me and my phone is gone?
Did you do a full wipe? If yes and and it still doesn't work it could be a hardware failure, maybe emmc brick bug

If it still doesn't work, try to flash back to a stock rom. You can use this guide:

After I delete the htcsetupwizard.apk and boot, I get continuous Setup Wizard force closes. It won't let me do anything else.
How did you get past this?

[Q] Wipe cache partition error in stock recovery :/

Whenever I try to wipe my cache partition using stock recovery it just says error and my SM-G730W8 justs reboots. How do I know it actually wiped the cache partition and is there another way to wipe it; with a file explorer maybe? I've read that some S4 variants also have this problem but for them it still wipes the cache partition; I just don't know if mine is wiped. Thanks in advance.
