Hey guys, currently I'm running a Nightly CM10.2 on my Sprint HTC One. It's backed up, which I've had to resort to three times so far. I've tried flashing a 4.3 ROM but when I do, they no longer recognize the phone as being rooted. I've looked around for a solution and have yet to find one yet. Is this a result of incompatible firmware? I would like to have a sense 4.3 ROM, but they're not allowing me root access (they being BadBoyz, Stock w Goodies, and one other I tried).
Thanks in advance for any help!
Check in developer settings and make sure root access is enabled for apps and ADB

So now I'm getting the stupid notification to update to 2.3.3. Thing is, right now CM6.1.1 is MUCH smoother than the gingerbreads out there. I'd like to stick with it till CM7 is a full stable release. Also I heard you can edit a file in /system/ to fake your version. Couldn't find the info I needed to change it though. The other thread I looked at, the guy seems to have the same issue and he's on rogers as well (Well FIDO is owned by Rogers, therefore towers are the same here). Problem is I've tried a lot to get rid of it and still no luck, any help is appreciated
Find and flash FOTAKill

I'm running rooted stock 2.2.2 FRG83G and don't want to install the OTA until there's an easy OneClick-esque root method (the developer is referring to it as gingerbreak). Will FOTAkill work on rooted stock? If so, is all I do open FOTAKill-signed.zip on my computer, extract the FOTAkill.apk, and install it on my phone?
I apologize in advance for the relatively rudimentary question.
Long story short, I was trying to install Cyanogenmod onto my phone and I ended up bricking it (Tried reinstalling both the official release of Cyanogen and Nightly. I get pass installation from Clockwork Recovery, but once I reboot, my phone just keeps on looping at the loading screen), and none of my backups made from ROM Manager work because everytime I try to use one, it gives me an error that it cannot access /system. Pretty much all I'm asking for is if anyone has an original HTC Sense Froyo backup ROM they can upload and send to me? If you have Dropbox and want to do it via that, I'm fine with that too.
Thanks in advance, the only other way I see out of my situation right now is buying another phone so I would rather not have to do that
If you go to the shipped rom sticky in the development section they have all the orignal froyo roms.

Ive got an old sprint tab sitting around that id like to breathe some life into. Im fairly certain i rooted it back in the day because ive got superuser, but its running the stock Dj29 froyo software. The su binary is out of date though and it fails to update when I try within the app. I don't think I've got a custom recovery flashed, at least if it is its a version of the Samsung one. I never really did much with the tab because i never had the time to figure out what roms worked on which variant, but now I'd like to get ICS up and running, if not jb. Are there any aosp ports out there for the sprint tab? Thanks!
Both cm9 and aokp are aosp ics.

Yes, but can they be flashed to the sprint tab. At least initially I know cm couldn't be, has that changed?
yes they can.
Look for the p1c build, that is for cdma device.
The usual flashing process involve installing CWM recovery and I think you need CWM 5.X.
I am not familiar with the process because I have a GSM one.
Hi guys. So i'm about 2 weeks old with android. Just rooted and flashed 4.3 GPE to my HTC One on Rogers. I have noticed that my signal bars have been quite lower (1bar) in places where I normally get 3. I'm wondering if the GPE has a more accurate reading or if it somehow affected the radios? I didn't flash the radios what were available in the thread. I'm worried I might mess something up. Is there any way to tell if everything is ok or if anyone else has experienced this?
thank you so much in advanced for your help and understanding.
Also.. Side question. Once the Rom is flashed and installed, can I delete it from it's folder on my phone? Does it need to stay there in order to run?
I'm not running 4.3 so I can't really answer your first question as far as signal but I'm running the 4.3 firmware and radio on 4.2.2 and it works well. As far as deleting the rom from your phone: you may delete it with no ill effects BUT if you're new to flashing and you make a mistake with flashing a modification or something having that rom on your phone can make fixing something as easy as dirty flashing the rom again. Dirty flashing means flashing without first erasing everything. I would leave it just in case. If you do delete it though there are always ways of putting it back so it's not going to break anything it just might make you read a little too fix anything you might break... Welcome to Android!

Hello all, i am by no means technologically illiterate but i need help. I have an htc vivid (at&t) updated to 4.0.3 from 4.0.1 and rooted. As far as i know everything else is stock. I did not perform the update or root myself. I want to squeeze a few more years out of this (and get away from that infamous android is upgrading bug in that at&t release) by updating to kit kat, is there a rom/kernel combo that doesn't require s-off? (don't really care about keeping Sense) Yes i read the superguide, still nervous about attempting it myself. Thanks for any help you can provide.

I haven't seen any rom that requires s-off - it simply makes life simpler. Kernels are compiled with the rom and things break if you don't properly flash the included kernel.
With an s-on phone you must extract the kernel (boot.img) from the (rom).zip file and flash it seperately via USB from a PC using Fastboot. If that doesn't make sense, you need to read a lot more. If it does.....
This has been my daily driver since it was posted. Everything I normally use works fine. No random reboots at all. I did a full wipe, including internal SD.

Look for the PacMan thread in the Vivid Android Developement section. Please understand that I can not tell you if your phone is properly prepped for this install.
