Received it's 4.3 update on Sprint last Wednesday for my completely stock HTC One. I noticed after update was completed my WiFi would not remain connected. Checked all possible problems I could check with my phone and WiFi, none fixed the issue. I now, after going through a HUGE run around have a new One and keep getting notified of the 4.3 update and was just wondering if anyone else has ran into this issue? Holding off on doing the update due to not wanting the phone to have the same problem and to have go through all the crap I had to the first time just to get a replacement phone.

Yea, i am having the same exact issues after updating to 4.3 last week on the International HTC One......It is defenitely a software issue, as my One was perfectly fine before the update.
Plz do me a HUGE favor and notify Google on this issue the more people call the faster we get the fix and idk about u but I'm getting really impatient waiting for them to fix this

I got a text message from AT&T yesterday saying they were "providing a critical software update that will enhance the performance of your HTC Vivid device."
So far, I have not been able to access their server to download the update. When I tap on Check for Updates in Settings, the checking message appears for a few seconds and then disappears.
Has anyone else gotten this message, or knows what this update is for?
Thanks
Edit: HTC does not have a new software update posted for the Vivid, just the 3-22 version. I wonder if I got the message because I used the direct method to get the update (*#*#682#*#*) rather than through the Check for Updates in Settings, and AT&T thinks I still have not updated.
I ran the manual update and it said there was no update available.

That's consistent with the fact that every time I try to check for updates nothing happens. I wonder why I got the message from AT&T if they have no update for us. As I said above, it may be due to the fact that I got the original update manually rather than through the Check for Updates feature in Settings.
Thanks for checking.
I've heard about that some kind I glitch.

So a couple days ago i got a text from ATT saying that there was a new version available for my phone, and i am running ICS so i thought it was a small update or something i tried checking and i got nothing i was wondering if anyone else got that text? but thats not even my issue after i tried to update i cant view my text messages anymore it just says Loading... i had to download go pro and thats even very slow. Anyone know how to fix that? and yes i have tried turning it off and on. thanks.
I got the text too, made me wonder if there was an updated to some of the noted issues.
But I didn't get the chance then to check it out or try it, and wasn't sure it was just the original ICS update message, cause I'm still running Gingerbread.
But it's one of the main reasons I logged on today.
my wife experienced the same thing, but after the upgrade the baseband was still the latest att update for vivid (.56), nothing new.
never did check hers beforehand, but I'm pretty sure mine came w/ .56 (refurb from att) at the same time. I'd already upgraded my device to darkraider.
I got the same message a few weeks back. I contacted AT&T Support. They said that 4.0.3 was the latest version. They did not say why I got the message. I suspect it was because I pulled the update using the special code (#*#*286*#*#), which does not seem to work any more.
Hey people!
So I've had the HTC one m7 for a week and was getting great battery life, speakers were on point and didn't have problems at all, then updated to 4.3 and everything went to hell.
I'm still on my 14 day return policy and I thinking in returning the phone and getting a new one with 4.1.2 on it and not update until a stable version of android for the phone comes out or the problems I've noticed are addressed with an update.
Question is: would I have to update without an option once I get the new phone or is there any way to deactivate the update notification so it's not asking if I want to download the update all the time? I was really happy with 4.1.2
Thanks for the help!

This is not WP8, so Yes you can, any update you get will always give you the option to download or Cancel it.
When you get your new phone, before you set up your wifi connection or insert a sim card,
Goto Settings > About > Update and Check the Box that says "Update over Wifi Only" do that straight away,
Then whenever you connect to Wifi and get a noftification for Software update, just keep cancelling it and swipe it away in your nofifications bar.. Im afraid Im,not sure if theres a setting for "Disable update or Don't ask again.
your post is interesting, because I have the Blue/Red low light tint camera bug on my M7 which from what ive read, 4.3 fixes..but other than that..4.2 is perfect.. on point speakers, no wifi drop out, slick and smooth usage.. I wonder, however, im on EE uk, so im not sure how it will be for me. I know the XDA devs are working on an S-OFF tool for HBoot 1.54, which when its done.. might work with the 4.3 HBoot, but I wouldn't wait.. go change your phone.
I remember when I had my Sensation XL.. HTC released a statement that promised they were going to S-OFF all their future devices, and they wonder why Samsung sell so well.
I hope that helps.

Oh wow thank you for your honest answer NightOrchid
Yeah. I think the easiest way is to just return my phone and get a new one with 4.1.2 installed instead of trying to downgrade and getting involved with all the CF, bootloaders and such right?
Having a strange issue with my HTC one.
History -The phone is not rooted it's on stock 4.3 with 5.5 upgraded about 2 weeks ago.
Today I have noticed that I can't be heard by the other party when I speak on the phone, I can hear him but he can't hear me.
There is not issue when I speak on the speaker, the issue is only when I use the phone without a speaker.
I have disconnected any Bluetooth devices.
I have restarted the phone, but nothing else except of that.
Any ideas what it might be?

I think you need to contact HTC support or the store where you bought it. You could try a factory reset, but it's fundamentally not your problem if you haven't done any weird modifications to the phone.

The issue is that I bought the phone in another country, so I was wondering if there is a more local solution for this, and/or is it a known issue with this phone, As it happened out of the blue!

Some things you can try:
- Contact HTC anyway. It's possible they'll service your phone even though it was bought in another country.
- Factory reset (this probably won't help).
- Update your firmware.
- S-Off and test as many firmwares as you can. You may want to check your version of HBOOT, and if it's an early version, S-Off before upgrading your firmware. Because the newer firmware is unreliable to S-Off.
My girlfriend just got a Moto X from the holiday sale last week. She bought an AT&T branded devices so she could use it on Straight Talk.
It works fine on the network, but the OTA updates would just not work at ALL. Every time it wanted to update, it would ask to be on the wi-fi network, which it already was. And if we ever got a progress bar, it just said "Will Resume when on Wi-Fi" and showed a 0% progress for over an hour.
Motorola support was utterly useless, they hung up on us, TWICE, after 2+ hours of phone calls, and the third time the level two technician, who we were told could force the update, told us we could factory reset the phone to make it work.
After THAT failed, he told us we could just mail it back to Motorola and they'd install the update themselves. At that point I just used RSD Lite to flash the 4.4 stock firmware, because it was much faster than waiting two weeks for the same thing. Now I'm not sure if the OTA updates are working still, but she's been unable to download the new boot services or active notifications apps, which makes me thing there are still problems with it.
Anyone else have these issues with OTA updates? Specifically with the AT&T variant?
Anything would be helpful!
I am having the same problem on an AT&T model purchased from the holiday sale. I tried the factory reset suggestion and that didn't work. I am actually on the phone with level two support right now hoping for a solution. I will post a follow up if anything works to resolve this issue.
I updated two Moto X's to 4.4 with no problems at the beginning of the month, but I had this same issue this past weekend when my latest Moto X arrived and I tried to update it. I finally got the update to download by tethering to my other phone instead of using my home Wi-Fi. Sucked that it used my AT&T data, but at least it worked. I researched it a bit and apparently some Motorola Android phones have had this issue before. Others said it will eventually download if you just leave it, but it could take a while. Pretty sure it's an issue with Motorola's update servers because a bunch of people will report it at once and factory resetting doesn't help.
I haven't had this issue but you can always just download the OTA manually and sideload it with adb.

Okay, as much as it sucks, it's somewhat comforting to hear that others are having the issue as well.
Since it was new out of box, and all Moto Support wanted to do was install it at their factory, we just used RSD Lite and pushed the 4.4 factory image.

We just wound up flashing the 4.4 Factory Image from RSD Lite in the end. Is there a good repo for OTA zips for ATT though? I found one for an earlier update listed here in XDA (the one that brought some camera fixes), but I couldn't find any other stock OTA zips that could be applied via stock recovery outside of that one.

If support doesn't help (they were pretty sucky towards us), you can use RSD Lite to apply the factory 4.4 image to the phone without any modifications
Tmobile version not updating either
I have the Tmobile variant. Its not taking the update either. Two different ways its prompting and not working. The first is I have a notification that the update will begin when I'm on wifi. I'm on wifi and it never starts. After reboot, I check the 'about phone', --system updates. "It tells me an update is currently being downloaded. You will be notified when the download is complete."
Waiting and waiting.....
After my second call yesterday, level two escalated me to level three. They called me this morning, (they don't take incoming calls) and the rep pushed the update to my phone. It took about 10 minutes and then the update started downloading. After a reboot I was then able to download the kitkat update. So now all is well. One of the reps at level two said he tried pushing the update to me (on Monday) but it didn't work. I guess level three has more power. Anyway, it did resolve my issue.
Good luck to the rest of you with this problem and Happy Holidays to the community.
My wife took her phone to work and connected to wifi there...update came through. I'm guessing either motorola servers cleared up, or needed a different wifi...but either way, resolved.
