Hi to everyone,
I took a shower and the bathroom became naturally steamy, I had the phone not exposed to direct water, but as any other object in the bathroom exposed to steam.
Afterwards, I noticed the presence of a layer of very thin particles noticeable mainly on 100% brightness, on the underside of the glass covering the screen. It is barely noticeable in normal use, but I can notice its presence, a kind of a layer of microscopic particles, when there's a white background principally.
Now I don't know if this layer of very thin particles noticeable on a white background at 100% brightness is normal or not? And can it be due to the vapor?
I'd assume not. have you tried drying it out?

So there's a slight scuff mark on the grey plastic just to the right of my camera... on one of the TWO areas where the phone could easily get scratched/scuffed. Does anyone know of a way to remove these, or am I SOL?
I normally use 3M rubbing compound to polish out scratches on plastic or just about anything with a high gloss finish, but being it's next to a spot where it could into a crack around the camera it could be tricky. It would dry white and could be hard to get out. Anyway, you'd put a tiny bit on a cloth and rub like crazy.
Hi guys,
I noticed a small problem in my xperia z. As you know, the edges fiberglass chassis protrude slightly with respect to the panels of front and back glass. in my case I noticed that where there is the door to the sim, the board seems a little less prominent, as if the rear glass was a little more prominent. your are so well? is a problem caused by overheating of the processor? is something almost imperceptible so even taking pictures you could not see
anyone can say if you have the same situation? is it normal?
it does seem a little convex here now that you've mentioned it . Only a little
Yes Only a little...but now i think the Glass rests the surfaces in that point :/
Anyother?

The glass is flexible, maybe it's that . Anyway, what problem does that cause to you?

i think that now the glass touch the surface where i put the phone.
Android i suppose that the Phone Could have an internal problem. Possible?
Just had a really good look at mine and it looks perfectly flat so wouldn't say a curve in the back was normal.
Phil
It's very very Little...like 0.1 mm. Can this compromise water proof?
I see what you mean now, if I run my finger nail across the back towards the opposite side (with USB and microSD) my nail catches on the rubber edge protruding slightly, however, on the side with the SIM slot, the glass protrudes slightly further than the rubber edge, and so my nail slips off the edge of the phone.
The problem you'll see, because of this, is that when your phone lies flat on the desk, it should be resting on the rubber edge and not touching the glass, but on the SIM side, the glass touches the desk.
It might scratch the glass/screen protector but it shouldn't be a problem otherwise.
yes it's the same thing for me!!!...so i think that the only problem is the scratch of screen protector.
I restored the original form with a vise and a phone...but when i play a game and the phone became hot the problem return...so i think that is a stock
behavior of xperia z. the convex is imperceptible but the rear glass touch the surface and i can see some scratches on the sony stock film.I would not want that water came from this small curvature!
The silver HTC One is the natural color of aluminum but what about the black model? Is it the same technique as HTC One S? Or it is just the black color being coated on the aluminum frame? Is it easy to be scratched? Thank you
I believe that it is just black being coated onto the aluminum, and have heard that it is sort of easy to get scratched, oh and I have seen that it is a fingerprint magnet, unlike the silver one.

It's anodized black, essentially, a thin layer of the top of the aluminium has a whole lot of tiny tiny holes in it and they has a dye in it. since it is so thin, when it scratches, it shows the undyed aluminium underneath it.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anodizing
Aluminium anodizing is usually performed in an acid solution which slowly dissolves the aluminium oxide. The acid action is balanced with the oxidation rate to form a coating with nanopores, 10-150 nm in diameter.[6] These pores are what allow the electrolyte solution and current to reach the aluminium substrate and continue growing the coating to greater thickness beyond what is produced by autopassivation.[8] However, these same pores will later permit air or water to reach the substrate and initiate corrosion if not sealed. They are often filled with colored dyes and/or corrosion inhibitors before sealing. Because the dye is only superficial, the underlying oxide may continue to provide corrosion protection even if minor wear and scratches may break through the dyed layer.

Both (all three?) colours are anodised aluminium alloy of undisclosed ingredients.
Aluminium oxidises as soon as it is subjected to air, so you only know the colour of aluminium oxide.
Anyway, when you anodise aluminium and its alloys, you encourage a deeper layer of oxide to build above and below the original surface, this oxide is harder than plain aluminium oxide and porous; allowing a dye to be taken up, and then usually a sealant on top.
Hi guys, I'm about to put the screen protector on my phone but I do not know what's that for (number 4 - the RED THING ;p):

I think that it's a piece of adhesive tape. When you are applying a screen protector and notice that there is a dust particle stuck underneath, gently remove that part of screen protector already applied and use the adhesive tape to take the dust particle off the screen.
I am not 100% sure but it could be that.
From that blurry picture I really can't tell you what it is, you got any other photos of it?

a piece of advice, try to put on the screen protector while in a steamy room, like a shower, otherwise there are many dust particles in the air, even if you clean the screen throughly before applying the protector some dust particles tends to apear from nowhere!!
if in a steamy room there is less partiles in the air and you have a better chance of putting it on without dust underneath.

From now one you're my guru. When I'll buy another Nillkin screen protector I'll apply it in the bathroom.
And I'm not being sarcastic.. I've destroyed both front and back protector with all the dust particles ;/ I suck ;p
I was wearing a head lamp when applying it ( to see each and every dust particle) and as you said they were just appearing from nowhere damn you dust..
Has anyone (without screen protector) noticed the appearance of small spots on the display glass, where the oleophobic coating seems to have rubbed off a bit? They appear as small spots that permanently look more greasy/smudgy than the rest of the display glass. It started with one spot, but now there are several of them. Never had this with any other phone.
