Color OS port? - Sprint HTC One (M7)

I know that the HTC One GSM version has the Color OS Rom ported to it but has anyone heard of it being ported to the Sprint version?
Color OS

Looks pretty badass. Is the OS even in English? Lol

i think the big problem you are going to have is that we never had a solid port of 4.2.2 from the internationals which he says in the OP he is using as a base, if we did though it would likely be more feasible, also on top of it there would likely be data issues

to me this looks like a OS based off Miui with additional widgets and an app drawer

Windows Mobile 6.5 + Sense UI

Is it possible to get Windows Mobile 6.5 + Sense UI (HTC HD2) on out phone. With the upcoming release on T-Mobile, I'm kinda jealous. I can't upgrade until March/June next year and it sucks. I need help. it might be a stupid question but how come WinMo can boot Android and it can't be vice versa? Help? Thanks =]

I'm guessing since Android is Linux they can port it to many devices (like computers and other phones that was NEVER meant to run android) while WinBlows is closed source and probably needs specific hardware requirements to run.
I don't think I'm right but that is just my 2 cents (or 4 cents. I'm not sure)

[Q] Alternative OS

Hello,
I loved the fact that the HTC HD2 have the possibility of changing the OS, and can change for many OSes. Then I want to know if there is any of these hacks for the Milestone.
Best Regards,
Nathan Paulino Campos
As far as I know, Moto's locked bootload makes it pretty much impossible to do this at this point. If it didn't have that we'd all be running CM6 haha..
I might be wrong, just my 2 cents.
I doubt it cuz the main reason the hd2 has multiple os's to choose from is because of putting a dead os on it from the start...which was windows 6-6.5 with no more updates being pushed. Youre best bet is to just find a great stable rom and keep it that way

Yeah but it's not 'real' CM6 with full kernel features and such. Not at all ready for everyday use yet! Though hopefully it will change soon.

Thoughts on the T-Mobile G2X as compared to the Nexus

I currently own a Nexus S and love it. I just wanted to get your opinions on The G2X and how it may compare to the NS. Aside from lacking gingerbread, what other potential downsides am i looking at? What are the upsides? I'm just looking for constructive feedback. No Flame throwing

The Nexus S beats it in every department except video recording, so its up to you what you deem important
Nexus S is fast, amazing screen and housing which make the phone when off look like a black slab of coal, also when the phone is on the blacks stay that colour, so you dont know where the screen starts and finishes...
The Nexus S is the real deal mate, i cant see anything living up to its quality, except for maybe the SGSII
JD
Im having the same problem. But im also wondering between my Nexus s, the new T-Mobile G2X and upcoming HTC Pyramid.
My opinion.
Nexus s - Love this phone, have nothing bad to say, never had all the issues everyone was having (rebooting).
T-Mobile G2X - Reviews say the phone is sluggish for a phone with dual core, but it might be due to the custom UI. The G2X comes with stock gingerbread which is a plus but how how easy will this be to developers to root and install custom rom. Have never had a LG phone and dont know how the quality is.
HTC Pyramid - Still needs to be released but the spec looks amazing and I love HTC quality (nexus one). Recently HTC had not been too nice to devs. with G2 and Thunderbolt.
Wait til all the phone get released and then see what happens, see what fits for me.
nexus s is the real deal....unless yours is with tmobile....then in 2 years...its useless (unless you enjoy using a smartphone for 2g)
thats just a techinicality, most of us will move on by then, but the gx2 needs some more time before we can dive into it. but its dual core and 4g, cant really hate on that. ofcourse battery life can be a good fight (im on 22hrs and 30minutes on my nexus s right now and its still at 15%)
amoled screen is another thing...the fact that it doesnt have gingerbread is not abig deal at all, from what i read this is reaallly stock android with the exception of some apps, not skins or UI

Yeah i hope we are able to see some hands-on vids today. I agree that only time will tell if its a winner or not. Those specs do make it seem like a beast of a phone though, and stock android has a significant place in my heart.

I definitely would not buy anything less that a screen with AMOLED. I was a HTC fanatic, i owned the HTC Desire, Nexus One, Desire Z (G2) and the HD. But once you convert to Samsung you never look back, i could never have a SLCD screen again(greyish blacks yuk)...
But i do miss Sense sometimes, and i know that's a contentious issue in this forum as there are so many Sense haters here, but i like having the choice to mix up my ROM's by having stock for a few months then Sense for a few months.. With the Nexus S your pretty much restricted to stock or MIUI, But thank god for the MIUI release, its invigorated the dev forum. Lots of kernels and same-ish ROM's, thank god we have something new to play with

I used to feel the same way when I had my Epic 4G. I thought I could put up with anything for a SAMOLED but then I started playing with an Evo. Sure, the screen as quite as brilliant but a great screen does not a device make. I've made my opinion on Sense clear but I won't dis on someone else's enjoyment of it (doesn't mean I don't get tired of seeing new threads pop up asking for it). The only thing that would really make me not want to get a Pyramid is if the bootloader is as locked down as the Thunderbolt but something tells me that was something Verizon wanted but that is a personal hunch supported by absolutely no evidence so don't quote me on it. I could easily give up the SAMOLED, hell it makes me feel more comfortable running bright themes and I think it helps devs want to make them.

i dont find it ugly at all.. just the bottom of the phone is a little bit exaggerated and could of added more screen size rather than having blank spots; probably something internal of the phone hardware that prevented that or they didnt want to overextend the screen size

Well... it looks snappy, but it's quite obvious the video is sped up. I know for a fact people's fingers don't move like that, all jittery lol. And if it's really using stock android, that stock launcher should animate just like our stock launcher, and it's way too fast in the video (opening the app drawer etc).

[Q]New to Android and Vivid

Hello all,
I'm new to android and my new AT&T vivid, I'm coming from iOS and really like my vivid so far. It is a little buggier than iOS but I do like it so far. I'd like to load up ICS but apparently that Rom isn't there yet. However, holiraider looks like a good start for me but I can't seem to find a straight forward howto. I've got plenty of computer experience with OS X, Linux and winbloze. I don't want to loose my LTE but I would like a ROM that allows a permanent root. Stock ICS would be. nice. If anyone could recommend a good free launcher other than sense 3.5 that would be great! Thanks in Advanced! Any advice would be greatly appreciated....just don't want to brick this thing!

I prefer GoLauncher EX, it's free and arguably the best out of all the launchers, definitely best out of all the free launchers IMO. It also has free ICS themes, just search for them on the market, read the reviews to find the best one. Then if you want to go even further, download an app called "font changer". Then find the font online called "Roboto" (should be a ttf file) and move it to your font changer folder. Then go into font changer and select the roboto font. Reboot your phone for all the effects to take place, and you'll be pretty damn close to ICS.
Oh, and don't you dare ever refer to windows as winbloze ever again.
thx
Thanks for the replies that "super guide" Is helpful at the least. I'm really hoping for stock ICS. Coming from iOS this is pretty f'in buggy. I'm hoping stock ics is a bit better or at least in a week or two when the update comes out it will be better. Any more thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Was pressing quote but accidentally thanked you...you're welcome for the random thanks
ICS looks like it is still weeks away, and that's the version with Sense. Not quite sure when a vanilla version will be available. I personally found the stock version pretty crappy myself as I would get random reboots. If you are looking for much much better performance and stability, pretty much any of the custom roms available will make you happy. I am personally running the latest WCX at the moment as it is setup perfectly for AT&T's network and is very smooth even with sense. If you're liking the phone now, just wait until you load up one of these custom roms, night and day...

Thanks for all of the speedy replies. I must say coming from iOS where everything was fairly consolidated there is certainly a plethora of information here as well as options. I've been doing some reading up, but if somebody could point me to a general but COMPREHENSIVE overview of rooting/installing custom ROMs/etc. that would be awesome! Also I've noticed there are a few ROMs available for the vivid, i'd love to hear peoples advice on what the "best" is and their experiences. While I am aware of some the benefits of rooting what are some of the really cool things that can be done as a result? Ie - I really love the cube page transition in Sense, on iOS I used a jailbreak tweak called barrel to get that transition amongst many others. Is there any way to get the cube transition in ADW? This is an entirely new platform for me and I'm way behind the curve. As a side note I've never been an ardent user of just one platform, I use what I like and what fits my needs. I've never really understood the whole "my os of choice is the best and everything else sucks" thing. Each platfor. Has its strengths and weaknesses. If I could afford it is probably have them all, mobile and DT/LT! Hell, I'll probably buy an iPad 3! I also see WebOS as being an excellent platform, hopefully HP will open source it and a couple big OEMs like HTC and the like will pick it up because from what I've read the TP's performance under WO is just plain sad...
</end rant>]

No variety in ROM's

I came to Nexus from an HTC One. I know that fact that the main thing with the Nexus is to have a simple, fast, stable and latest vanilla Android, but Im getting bored All the ROM;s look pretty much the same and most of the launchers/themes I used were either poorly designed, slowing down the phone, or draining the battery.
With the HTC I was able to switch to vastly different ROMs (Vanilla, HTC Sense, MIUI, Ubuntu etc.) whenever I want to experience different ways of using Android but with the Nexus i feel its very stale.
I searched the forums and there are no other options. Any idea why? Or are there and i'm too dumb to find them?
Well porting something like sense or touchwiz would be way too much work due to chunks of them being closed source. We could probably have miui or ubuntu though, would just need someone to be interested in doing it.
Imo there is a certain group of people who want to flash other devices in order to get an aosp like experience. It's these people who the nexus line appeals to.
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
Kind of surprised there is no Ubuntu port (at least that I'm aware of). MIUI is too far behind. Last I checked it's still KK based, so we don't have a base to use, and besides, we are playing around with M, so almost two named releases ahead.

very easy solution. make your own rom if you are bored with the n6 rom options. no one is stopping you, nor hindering any if your creativity. if you dont want to, then you need to apologize to all if our developers that are here on the n6, for calling out their "worthless" roms. launchers/themes have nothing to do with it, as they are different developers. again, your option is to use your own creativity and make a creative rom, or be a good soul and appreciate what we already have.
It's funny because I saw this thread title and thought "no variety in threads". I come from a Samsung and HTC background and we never had these threads, but now I see this same thread being posted every week.
Just a case of "should have done your research before buying". Personally, I find a wider variety here than either from my HTC days or my short stint with LG.
