On my Sony Xperia ZR (Latest firmware) I am noticing that sometimes when I make calls the ear piece volume is very very low. Other times (usually after a restart) it is working fine again...anyone else notice this?
Another Issue I am noticing is that after installing google now and then disabling it when I lock my phone. On the home screen I am no longer taken to the time as per default but to my keypad and text saying "get google now" any idea how to make the phone default lock screen the time without installing any 3rd party apps?

Is there anyway I can turn off screen timeout during a phonecall? It's really annoying when I hit end to end the call but it actually only turns the screen on and I have to hit end again... I would rather have the screen stay on during calls and hitting end (either the physical button or the on screen end, but in this case, probably the on screen end) to end the call. Are they're any apps on the market or any patches for ROMs (I'm rooted running a custom ROM) that I can get to achieve this?
Thanks
i would also love to be able to do this. Toggle would be good for this setting too. When I am on conference calls , I typically use a Bluetooth headset. Therefore I need the screen to stay on to control mute, etc. But when I am using the phone up to my ear screen timeout would be desirable so that i don't accidentally press buttons.
I faced a problem which was appeared only after updating to version 4.4.2. When my phone is in a pocket (display's part to a foot) and at some moment its sound just off , 1-2 seconds later during walking a sound or vibro are off. It became clear that a problem in pressing the sensor with an left arrow at the bottom of my phone. Whether there is an opportunity to make this set of touch buttons inactive during incoming calls as it was before updating? I'm using stock version of HTC (M7) Dual Sim.
Hi everyone,
I have a Sony Xperia Z2. Since about a month now, everytime I make a call, or receive one, my screen freezes to black during the call. I cannot hang up, I cannot put on loud speaker nothing as screen remains black, even when I try unlocking with the power button, nothing happens. I have tried reseting my phone to factory settings, still the same. When ever I am on a call it does this. Even on whatsapp calls. Please can anyone help me fix this
I had the same problem with my XZ.then I removed the screen protector, which was blocking the proximity sensor, that's why the screen remained black during calls.
try removing the protector or tempered glass or anything that can block the proximity.
I'll be on a call and the other person will suddenly be unable to hear me. This happens with stock and Pure Nexus (running on both elemental and shamu). It doesn't happen regularly. It hasn't happened in weeks, but yesterday it happened twice on one phone call and once on another. I can fix it during the call if I mute and unmute the phone on the display. When the phone mutes itself, the display control doesn't show that mute is active, only I after I press it and "activate" it.
I used to think it might have been my face pressing against the screen, but that can't be it as the screen is off while I'm talking. In order to fix it during a call, I have to turn the screen on first. Has anyone else had this problem?
I had this problem and found call screen lock in the play store (which solved it). It turned out I was somehow tapping mute with my face while on the phone after not tripping the proximity sensor...
It only happened rarely, but you can tell if you might be doing this if your screen occasionally wakes up while on the call without being pulled away from your face (the proximity sensor thinks it is not close to you face intermittently).
Hello,
Just wondering if you guys have the same problem.
Phone is updated on 12.5.8.
Just bought for my wife last week
The app we are having trouble with is Viber during Video Calls. Whenever she video calls someone, while it is ringing, the screen turns OFF. Nothing happens even if she double taps the screen or presses the power button. After a few rings and presses on the power button, the screen will turn ON and everything seems back to normal.
I tried video calling via FB messenger and I am not encountering the same issue.
I tried to test the proximity sensor using Viber call and phone call and it is responding well but not 100%. Sometimes when I put in on my ears, the screen doesn't turn OFF. Most of the time, it does.
I also tested via the CIT (Secret Menu in the About Phone>Kernel Version), the result was mixed. If I just put my hand over the sensor, it does not turn to 0.0. It only goes to 0.0 if I put the phone down facing the table and then goes back to 5.0 when I pick it up.
I tried clearing cache, data, uninstalled, reboot then installed viber but the issue still exist.
Here is a video link of the issue I am talking about
