Just flash any GB kernel after that and you'll be fine. Search for cocore 4.1 for GB.

No you don't need to unlock the bootloader as iur device is practically made unlocked. So yeah it is unlocked already. Just flash the official 4.1.2 JB samsung firmware. No root needed.

We do not have to unlock bootloader.
Install CoCore kernel, you will get custom recovery. And install ROM with it.
1. ROOT.
2. CoCore.
For first install of CoCore do this: Install Universal kernel flash, and some explorer with root permissions like Root explorer or ES file explorer. Download CoCore zip, unpack it and use kernel.bin.md5 file with Universal kernel flash. After that you will get CWM or TWRP (depends what CoCore version you choose). From that part you can change kernel by installing its zip from recovery.
3. Download JB custom ROM, copy to phone - and install it from recovery.

Yeah just like shut_down says above..we do not have to unlock bootloader. We can just flash the firmware. Sorry for the confusion.
This guide will help you with the whole process of upgrading and installing custom roms.

You do not need to do it again, but you could. Because there are some other files in that zip - and those are not being installed with Universal kernel flash.

When you flash stock JB firmware (not ROM) you get all stock, ready to pass warranty.
If you want to go to GB, you need to follow guide how to do that. Because you will get bootloop if you just flash GB from Sammobile.

Firmware is untouched system, for flashing with Odin. And ROM is modded files that can be installed with custom recovery. In short.

Yeah.. thays y i have mentioned "pc odin" there
I am not able to remove the network lock :crying:
At the moment I am root. My model number is GT-N7000. My current android version is 4.0.4. My build version is IMM76D.DDLR6
Based on suggestion at the post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1801341 , I downgraded to a GB Pre-Rooted Room found at http://d-h.st/HJM . I got rooted and then I also was able to use GalaxyS Unlock Application to unlock my phone
Then i installed Mobile ODIN Pro and upgraded to a ICS ROM (India). The upgrade went fine and as expected, the root still remained but somehow the network lock appeared again :crying:
I tried to use the GalaxyS Unlock Application again but it does not seem to work. While I am executing step 2 of that application, a prompt asking for Network Key Lock appears. I choose "Dismiss" on that prompt and it seems to have completed the step but nothing happens. If I go to settings to see the mobile network then i get a message "Insert SIM Card to access network services"
Appreciate if someone could help me out.
Is there no way to upgrade to ICS and still have the network Unlocked?
Or is there a way to unlock from the present state of my phone?
use this.

Install the zip version of the kernel using recovery not the tar version. You have flashed the tar version from PC Odin thats why you have a yellow triangle
Worked fine for me

Step-by-step guide: stop using/upgrading a leak, start using the offical JB releases from scratch.
a) Install a JB stock Rom with PC Odin and root it with Phil's Kernel, or
b) Install a Custom Rom from recovery (after installing Phil's Kernel in stock recovery and rebooting into it again)

In XDA developers forum you'll find everything because it has a clear structure of subforums and a fantastic search engine.
One more hint: you are already in one of the subforums you'll need - you'll only have to go one step up and use the two round things near your nose.

Download JB firmware for you phone and install it with Odin, like you did that kernel. That kernel is for Gingerbread, that's why you get that problem. It will be fixed. Btw we do not have Odin flashable kernel with TWRP, that's how I know it was for GB. New time download CoCore for JB and unpack it. Use kernel.bin.md5 to install it with Univeral kernel flash app and some root explorer. You need to root it first with Shaaan's method.

UKF is compatibile with any CoCore, it might give you warning if it is some CoCore that is not added to its database, but you can ignore warning and install. Yes, you will have CWM permanently. There will be no problems for phone with it.

No, you can do it when you install it first time. It needs CWM, it is for updating. You must do it the way I told you.
Or you can use shaan temporary CWM (I test and use it myself)
Download the "update.zip" from the thread, then flash the zip using stock recovery...
It works on ALL versions of android (yeah, even on 2.3.6)
Then if you want cocore, just flash the zip of cocore through recovery and done it, you got cocore on your phone...
Just don't forget to read the cocore thread and always remember cocore kernel only works at stock jb 4.1.2 based ROMs...

CoCore = permanent, Shaaan's CMW = temp.
P.S. And you can flash CoCore ZIP with that temp, then you get permanent. If you do not want to use Univeral kernel flasher.
