Every time I enter my wifi password I get a pop up saying that my device failed to connect to network. I opened up the terminal and entered wifical.sh and still get the same result. I was connected just fine till I turned on my wireless tether. I'm at a loss of what to do? Any suggestions?

Do you mean that you tried to connect to a Wifi network with Tethering ON on your Droid?

I was having issues with my D4 even connect to wifi period. After some reading I found that everyone who took the update to jb 4.3 was having connectivity issues and could not be fixed unless rooted and can run the fix for it. So I installed the apk and now have working wifi but still have an issues with wifi tether.

Hi,
I tried to pair my HTC Touch Diamond 2 (Topaz) to my laptop via Bluetooth a few days ago. I gave up as I couldn't get it to work.
The next day I tried to get Wifi connected and it wouldn't to my network even though it had the day before. I'm sure its a n00b problem and just a setting but i've been looking at it for the last 4 or 5 days and literally tried everything.
When I try to connect to my wifi connection (named 'Home') it tries for a few seconds, then says "Unavailable" with a little icon next to it with a radar with a red cross though. Picture shown below

I've tried to find out what the icon means but to no avail. I'm not far from the wifi router. (sometimes a meter, sometimes upstairs).
I've also noticed that Start > Settings > Communications > "Wifi" is also shaded out for some reason now!
Any suggestions?
I've made sure the MAC address is in my "Permitted computers listed access to the wireless network" as it is WPA protected and MAC Filtered.
Cut off the connection of phone to PC, and try again
Thanks but that I had already tried
This morning I managed to do it somehow, not quite sure how but I changed some settings that required a restart, then when it came back it automatically connected to the network!
Thanks
I share this tool in case this possibly help somebody.
I use a french operator called SOSH with CM10.1 (NX Kernel) ROM.
Everything works fine, except the tethering.
Tethering started on my Note, my tablet is connected, except that it can not access the internet.
This seems to come from the IP tables. So I developed a small tool to correct them.
If you have the same problem, try to install the APK and start the application.
When you activate the tethering, allowing ROOT rights.
That's all ...
You can view the status by running the application.
Should work for WiFi and BT.
Tested only on CM10.1 with SOSH. I do not know if the problem occurs on other operators.

Cyanogenmod 10.1.3
great work man!! u r the best
So I got brand new Nexus 6 from Verizon a week ago and before installing any apps i used NRT 2.04 to unlock the bootloader and root the phone. Everything works fine except annoying issue with WiFi. What happens is that if you leave phone untouched for a long time you will discover that WiFi indicator as well signal strength indicator have ! on it and if you look on WiFi status it still says connected but in reality it's not so any help is appreciated.
Another question where the hell toggle to switch between Vibrate, Silent and Ring mode disappeared?
What are your advanced settings?

Hello, I am facing this issue with all my phones, previously it was with Moto X Play now its visible with OP3T.
If I am using the location service and wifi scanning, after I turn it off when on Data (3G or 4G) my wifi stays on all time. And drains my battery. Wifi scanning or wifi is turned off when the device is sleeping. In fact the wifi is not even in use. Is there any way to fix this ? I can share the battery stat.. please help me out.. this is a new device and there must be a way to fix this bug.

Its already done. Thats why I am scratching my head.
After restarting the phone, it gets fixed. So everytime after turning location service I need to reboot ?
One day, after my rooted tablet ran out of battery, it didnt boot anymore and there was black screen and something with kernel was written in a corner, i dont remember it, but the solution was that i unroot it and flash it with the right stock android.
I used ODIN and while it was like 25% percent flashed, the connection with the usb broke and then the flash failed and if it try it again, it fails again.
My tablet always loses the usb connection, it connects for a sec, then disconnects, then connects for a sec, then disconnects, maybe it even has loose contact on the tablet or the pc. (the samsung usb connect firmware is uptodate)
Now the screen is blue and it says: An error has occurred while updating the device software. Use the emergency recovery funktion in the smart switch pc software.
Pls help me out, im a noob in rooting and co and need ELI5
