That is unfortunately a brick. Send it to HTC, they'll have the mobo replaced for ya Btw, were you s-off and messing around when this happened?

Yep, I meant motherboard. Have you unlocked/rooted your phone? In any case, nothing can be done now, better get a replacement from htc if you're within the replacement period, else get a repair done from them.

Unfortunately that indicates a hard brick and the motherboard needs to be replaced. Depending on how you acquired the phone, HTC should be able to fix it for you.
This could happen if you flashed a ROM intended for the regular One (M7) which will not work as you have a dual SIM version.
Read this thread, it's discussing a similar situation (specifically post #5).

Actually, the 801e is the single-sim, non-lte version, and it is completely compatible with 801n/s (M7_UL) RUUs and ROMs

Well, if you have warranty, that's the best option. Otherwise, you can look around for places which have jtag boxes and can revive your phone for you..

Hello Guys,
I recently PICKED up a DEAD VIVID from a fellow XDA'r for a really cheap price hoping I can UNBRICK it and use it
As I have understood , This phone was bricked during the ICS update Process. Looks like the Original Owner did not know what he was doing LOL,
The phone should be here in a WEEK
Can anypone shed any light on how this can be fixed and what are the possible options ?
JTAG ??? HTC service
I live in INDIA BTW
bump....
Hope I wasn't a Idiot to buy a bricked VIVID ??
I don't think any solution has been found so far. If you hadn't already known, our vivid section is really small with not a ton of development going on. The people that couldn't follow directions were sort of left in the dust, and I don't know of anyone working on a fix for the bricks.

If it powers on and you are able to go to HBoot it can be saved.

If you can get into Qualcomm dload mode, you should still have a shot at fixing it. If it literally can't get into dload mode, does not boot into fastboot, or any other possible method of pushing files to the phone, then yes, it is bricked. You will have to find a way to use JTAG or send it to an HTC service center.
Thank you all !!!!! hoping for RIFF box to work
I started a similar thread.....I also have a bricked Vivid.....I have been able to get mine to be recognized by QPST on com6 in phone download mode.....the question is, what do I do now? QPST seems to be pretty straight forward, but I have no idea where to find the necessary files to flash the phone. Any ideas?

I haven't been able to find any .hex files for our device. Tried opening the various .img files extracted from the PH39IMG.zip in a hex editor and saving them as .hex files but QPST returns an error. I don't have any experience in hex editing, but I know I can't brick the phone any worse. My g/f has went back to an HTC Inspire so I am going to keep this hope alive as a side project.

Whether this guy who bricked his phone was a NOOB, isnt really an issue now is it? Nor if he is one of the ones whom ticked off PG.. I bricked my Vivid, and 1) I'm not a NOOB. 2) I followed Directions to the letter ... did everything right and it still bricked.. but i had insurance through BestBuy , sent it in and got a new phone 2 days later.. re-tried the same steps i did before which bricked my phone, and it went through without a hitch... We arent here to judge people nor start up another thread which can potentially lead to another mass exodus from XDA
Well I just got off the phone with HTC....seems I was wrong about their warranty policy. Even though I was not the ORIGINAL purchaser the PHONE is still under warranty. I will be shipping it back to HTC first thing in the AM.

Wow, I didn't even know that. All you have to do is send back the phone, no receipt, no nothing?
I called HTC and gave them my contact info and all the info about the phone....IMEI#, serial #, and part #.....told them what the problem was....and they emailed me the info about sending the phone in...worst case is the problem won't be covered under warranty, in which case I will have to pay $135 to have it fixed. Hopefully it will be covered under warranty though....

yeah i've sent them many phones, a couple of hd2, touch pro, touch pro2
can't remember what else but yeah if ur not original owner from a store they go by production date of the phone, i've been lucky that i always got them fixed for free, only once they said that said that the damage to my screen was due to physical damage and didn't fix it, and they charged me $40 (they call it a triage fee) other than that, i had to pay to ship it to them but it's worth the $5 using usps priority mail, they ship back at their cost with a nice box and HTC lint free cloth lol

If you need the H-BOOT let me know i,ll give you a copy once you have it leave it as is just put the zip file (PH39IMG.ZIP) to the root of the sd card hold down vol button and power at the same time once you see it boot let go and the phone will do the rest it will unbrick it for sure.

Nope. Send it to htc or find someone offering jtag service in your locale.

I was going to wire tether and I plugged it up via the stock USB cable that came with it and all the sudden it started smoking and I unplugged it and my charger port is ruined. So has this happened to anyone? I just had a mouse plugged in the same port and it was working fine! So anyone have this happen to them? Also how can I do warranty? My boot loader is unlocked and says tampered cause I'm running a ROM.
I have AT&T but that forum is not as big as this section so I`d post it here.
Edit anyways I called AT&T they sold me Since what had happened I need to call HTC and they will repair it. Will HTC care that its bootloader unlocked and tampered? even though its a physical hardware issue with the phone? or should I just sell it for parts and use an upgrade.
i'd send it to HTC and relock the bootloader. hardware-issues usually should be repaired even with tampered flag.
if you have enough energy left and really want to be save, use s-off, lock your bootloader, remove tampered flag and go back to s-on.

Just curious. Are you on a ROM that enables fastcharge? I did read a discussion between CM devs about rarely burning the port with fast charge enabled be default and connecting to a faulty USB port.
I'm guessing it's because USB 2.0 supports an output of max 500mAh.
If your phone tried to draw more than that it put pressure on the port which caused it to cease working properly.

in my case i think they've send me a new one, but because i've unlocked my bootloader before, they transfered my IMEI to the new device. because my bootloader was still "relocked" after repair, but the devices case and screen were completely new (no more scratches and 2 dead pixels were gone.. lucky punch ;D )
edit: can't say, but they didn't charge me because it was obviously a hardware-failure that was not in a relation to the software.. this is an important point.. they will only charge you if they can be sure that the hardware got damaged due to your installed software (like overclocking your cpu etc.)

They wont charge for that will they if they see that?
Anyway I plugged up my Samsung Charger from my parents S3 and BAM my phone started smoking so I wonder why or what is causing that cause its certainly the phone.
I was using my HTC One yesterday recording a lecture when it overheated and refused to turn on any longer. I've tried charging it with different cables and different outlets (USB in computer included) and the only recognition I get is that it shows qhsusb_dload in the device manager. I don't what to do to fix this; one of my friends stumbled upon (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2226445), but if it works, I have no idea how to do anything since I didn't root my phone. Anyone have any tips?
EDIT: A bit more information: it's a locked HTC One on Rogers Network in Canada.

Sadly that isn't possible.. your phone is properly hard bricked, so if you want any of your data back, you'll have to have someone with a jtag box unbrick it for you.. That will cost you cash, and that defeats the whole purpose of getting a replacement phone..

My HTC One died on Saturday for no apparent reason whatsoever, it was a T-mobile HTC one with the RUU conversion to GPE. I was watching Netflix it on saturday noon and the battery was about 50% and the phone restarted for no reason or error.
Later that day around 5pm I wanted to use the phone and it would not turn on, I thought that the battery could be dead so I set it to charge, but the LED would not turn on on the charger or computer, so I figured the battery was probably completely drained. I let it charge all night and next morning the LED still was not on, so I tried to boot the phone and nothing, I used power + volume down, and not even the bootloader would come up. I tried ADB and nothing.
After reading some info online and XDA I noticed that a lot of people are experiencing the same issue, would this be related to unlocking and rooting the GPE RUU?
Similar Issues:
HTC one won't turn on, No LED, no flashing Home/Back button

Im sorry to tell you this, but Qualcomm HS-USB is USUALLY a sign of a hard brick. In other words, you cannot get the phone back to life.
The only possible way of recovery of this device is to send it to HTC. They will replace the motherboard, which costs a BOMB. If im not mistaken, its about $200.
Ideally, you should avoid RUU conversion unless ur 100% sure about what you're doing. Flashing ARHD 6.1 or SinLess would have been a much wiser thing to do IMO
