So my sister recently cracked her HTC Raider and I tried to get it off of her so I could replace the screen but now she has messed it up more and now when you plug it in, no light comes on saying its charging, and when you try to turn it on it wount vibrate or do anything. I need to know if anyone else has had this happen to them possibly and if so, how would I fix it? She threw it away so I got it out and want to fix it up to add to my ongoing collection of phones. So far I got a Xperia Ion and a Nexus S 4G and have been wanting an HTC and now finally got one. Thanks.

I just got my Nexus One replacement after my other one's lock button was damaged. I just got my new one today and after I charged it fully, I pressed the power button. It gets to the "X" and then doesn't boot past that.
My phone vibrates once when I boot it, and then after a few seconds it vibrates 4-5 times in a row.
Any ideas how to fix this? I don't want to unlock the bootloader or root it...
Update:
-Got it working
Update 2:
Died again....
This is my second Nexus One within 2 weeks that has had an issue:
1st one = broken lock/power button.
2nd one = won't boot
If it's 7 vibrates it's a hardware problems. Don't even bother, just send it back.

yeah it was something like 7 when I recounted.... thanks for the info...
My Nexus One has committed suicide.
nvm, not working AGAIN.
Man bro. Your having bad luck. Mine does it occasionally where I turn it off. And try to turn it on it stays black and vibrates. But I just let it sit without the battery. For like 30 seconds. Then try. Never ran into this problem with my desire or evo. It was just this phone. Which I find weird. But try letting it sit for a lil.

I let it sit for 2+ hours and then I turned it on. It worked for 2-5 minutes and then turned back off and got stuck at the "X"....
I have VERY bad luck...
Any ideas on a replacement? ($0-350 USD), I've been through 2 N1's, sadly...
I've honestly just let it sit there for 30 seconds. But what are you running? I think the only reason mine does it is because I soldered the charging port. And obviously that hasn't been done to yours. So it shouldn't do that.

When I got the replacement, it wouldn't turn on for a while, but when it did; it was on Android 2.2...
I got it working again a while later to update to 2.3.4.
Then it died again. I've decided to just return it and either get an Xperia Neo V or HTC Inspire.

Looks like the phone has a hardware problem. Maybe it was a refurb from amazon or something bad happened during the shipment?
Either way, return it to amazon for a replacement or get a completely different phone.
Well at least Amazon is nice about it. Since your trading it. The inspire is better then the Neo.

What about the Xperia Arc S? I was going to buy it from my friend for $350USD... good deal?
That's reasonable but I'm still thinking the inspire is better then Sony. But that's just me. The inspire has some good roms too.

I got my HTC incredible s on jan. It's untouched (NOT ROOTED, BOOT MANAGER-LOCKED, etc).
My phone was working fine. But, yesterday night suddenly my phone crashed. So, i had to pull my battery and then switched it on. It crashed again on the HTC letters. So, i thought of repeating the same. I did and i found the same. So, i factory reset using the boot manager. But, THAT's IT. When i was entering the setup it crashed and then never turned on. It vibrated around 7 times and screen didn't turn on.
I thought the battery drained. So, i put it in charge. But, the light didn't glow. Any idea of what happened to my phone? Also, i own a gsm. So, no connection between my phone and my carrier.
Thank in advance

Thanks for the reply. But, i didn't find any topics that helps to turn it off. I mean for the untouched and unrooted mobiles. Can you please post the links? Coz, i'm just a newbie to android. I don't know whether the patches will work if i copy to memory card.
You should sent the Device to HTC, you will get a new one.

I don't know what happened but, now my G1 no longer charges. The indicator light doesn't come on and it doesn't show the battery itself charging when I'm looking at the screen. Has antone else had this problem and how did you fix it? Thx in Advance.

replace the daughterboard, hard to find by itself but you can get a broken g1 off ebay cheap that has a cracked screen etc. and swap the board, fairly quick and easy.

Hi,
My One died last night, just stopped and the screen went off. No light when charging, no way to revive it by holding down power with vol down etc. It would appear to be an ex-one...
Anyway, I'll need to speak to HTC tomorrow to get it sorted. What is their warranty service like?

Don't give up just yet do a lot of searching on here and you might find a solution.
Unfortunately I didn't and had to leave my phone in for repairs, was sent to HTC in the UK, phone was unlocked and rooted and i was unable to do anything with it but they just sent me a replacement phone no questions asked.

The computer doesn't even recognise anything has been plugged in, so unless it suddenly wakes up - I think it kaput.
How long did the replacement take?
It took me a month because I stupidly sent it back to the phone shop where i bought it who in turn sent it to their repairs place they use it who probably left it lying there for a week or two before deciding they Couldn't repair it and sent it directly to HTC who just replaced it, so send it directly to HTC in whatever country your in, HTC don't really have an official repairs place in Ireland so mine had to be sent to the UK.

Hi,
One out of the two 32GB touchpad has had this weird series of lines going across one section of the screen since day one. It appeared intermittently in the beginning but now it has gotten worse. I used to be able to just turn the screen off and on and it would go away but now it won't anymore. The touch sensor still works over the area where the lines are. Just checking to see if anyone knows what the root of the problem is and whether replacing the digitizer will correct it? Thanks.

I would say its a problem with the LCD screen, not the digitiser. Each can be replaced independently of the other, just so ya know
Cheers
Thanks. I know it could be one or the other. I wanted to try to narrow it down so I won't have to buy both.
