I have had this galaxy gear for about a week now, and since new the camera has been extremely glitchy. Sometimes it will work no problem, but very rarely. Most of the time when I swipe down to use the camera the screen goes black and stays that way for almost a minute sometimes, before a message comes up saying "warning camera failed" . I have done a hard reset twice now, and made sure I had the latest software update, yet still haven't had any luck. I can still return it to the store for an exchange but best buy where I purchased it from is currently sold out and I am waiting. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and it might be fixable? I have read through a lot of forums but haven't found any information on this.
I have recently been trying to root, and install a custom rom hoping that would solve the problem. I follow the directions exactly from the forums in this site, it roots no problem, and I get the custom rom transferred to the galaxy gear sdcard using wondershare. But every time I get in recovery mode, and select recovery, it reboots and resets my gear. I don't get any options to install in twrp.
Can anybody help?

I facing the same issue also..Which "camera has stopped" problem. i had also send back to service center once and return back with a functional one. But today i once again had this problem and i try to remove out from my hand and twist abit on the belt and the camera able to function. i believe this is hardware problem and this was due to the belt problem. I think i going to send back to service center once again.

Ya that's what I am thinking it must be, I will return mine too as soon as they get some more in stock. But I still haven't been able to figure out why I can root mine, but I cant install the custom recovery so I can install a new rom..
Mine just started doing this, anyone have a resolution other then returning it.
Never mind, i found the issue. The band has separated from the face and cut the cable to the camera.
how long did it take samsung to send you a new one.
After returning my watch to bestbuy I exchanged it for a new one. The new one the band is different and the hole in that was behind eh camera is now gone. I really think samsung is reading these forums

can you post pictures?
I had the same problem.. did a fresh watch reset/recovery, and its fixed the problem.. not sure if it will for everybody, but in my case it did. My Model# is SM-V700
Step 1: Make sure Gear is powered off
Step 2: Press and hold the power key until you see either the Galaxy Gear rebooting… screen or a blank white screen.
Step 3: Release the power key and then continuously tap the power key until you see the Reboot Select Mode screen.
Step 4: Tap the power key to highlight the "recovery" option.
Step 5: Long press the power key (5-8 sec) to select it.
Solution to camera stopped problem
I hope this helps others. I had not used the watch in many months. I couldn't get it to turn on after a whole day of charging. Read a tip off an Amazon review and it worked -- if your watch is "dead" plug the charging cable into your computer USB port and not the AC outlet. It charged just fine then and works.
Now to the camera problem. I reset the watch and reinstalled. Got the "black screen" and after so many seconds, a message 'camera stopped'. Reset again. Still the same problem.
But I got into the GEAR MANAGER , selected MY APPS and noticed that there was a "+" sign on the top right of the screen. Touched that and it brought up an additional list of apps. At the top it said I has "11/14" apps turned on. I found I could click on the CAMERA and it went to 12/14. Picked 2 more things. Now the Camera is one of the 14 apps on the device. Guess there's a limit
THE CAMERA WORKED PERFECTLY AFTER THAT.

Have you tried connecting it to Kies? Maybe you can get it to reflash or reset that way?

Yes!! I am having the exact same issue. I was told my an att rep to contact Silver light Inc out of California because they make it. I have not done it yet. I plan on going to an att store where I purchased it from. If you would like the silver light phone number they gave me, let me know.
Good news is our watches come standard with a 1 year warranty.
On mine, I noticed I can do a few things still. Right after it reboots if I hold down the home key for 1 second and let it go, I can get into the restart menu and it will connect to my phone, and I can then double press the home key to get to s-voice. As soon as I swipe down to get to the main screen, it shuts off.
Since this is a few days old...did you figure anything out yet?
As to the other user, the watch will not connect to the PC right now because it's stuck in a reboot loop.

AT&T gave me the wrong information. They gave me the information for the company that makes the Martian watch apparently. Damn AT&T.
having the same problem. Won't stop rebooting.
I'm having the same issue. I was woke up in the middle of the night to see my watch rebooting over and over and over. I let the battery completely drain, plugged it in to charge and it just starts the same reboot loop over and over and over, again. I was hoping to find some solution but doesn't seem like many people are having this problem and I don't know how to reset the watch, any ideas?

Let me tell you. ..samsung and att both are being a real pain in the ass about this. So here's what happened so far. I called samsung, they said call att. I called att, they said call samsung. I canned samsung and they said call att. I told them no. I said att told me to call them. Then samsung said take it to best buy and they can fix it. Best buy said they needed a reciept. I left best buy and went to att because this one doesn't have an att store inside. Att gave me the reciept, went back to best buy. The same guy at best buy (the samsung area) plugged it into his computer and 20 seconds later said he can't do anything I have to call samsung. So that's where I am at now. I am so pissed off. Best buy is not close to me. It's about 40 miles away. This is realllllly starting to piss me off.
If I was you I would call samsung for warranty information. If they tell you to call anyone else or go anywhere else tell them no and you want to send it to them for repair. I have a feeling it has to do with the newest software. I can't even figure out how to connect it to Kies or downgrade the software or anything.

first of all if this was clearly already mentioned, I apologize.
I ran into this trouble last night and just wanted to share how Samsung Rep helped me with this soft brick.
this is for someone like me who needed to hard reset the gear 2 neo.
my phone: Tmobile Galaxy Note 3
Problem: Gear 2 Neo would not boot beyond Samsung Logo.
Rootcause(s): 1) was notified to update latest Gear Manager software and update was done. 2) it causes reset on my gear in my case. and it reboot the gear, but it shut off the screen after the logo.
here is what Samsung Agent told me on the live chat.
Please follow below steps to perform hard reset on your watch.
Agent: 1) Power the device off
Agent: 2) Press and hold the Home/power key until you see the Galaxy Gear rebooting… screen
Agent: 3) Release the Home/power key and then continuously tap the Home/power key until you see the Reboot Select Mode screen.
Agent: 4) Tap the Home/power key to highlight the Recovery option.
Agent: 5) Press and hold the Home/power key until the device resets. The device should now recover and restart
again. I couldn't find it in xda last night and I thought I share. if you want to update new Gear Manager, it's up to you. but it didn't help me with my Note 3 and Neo combo. but after this process, all is well. FYI : as all hard reset you will lose everything on the device and will be factory reset.
thanks,

Thank you for that. Unfortunately, it doesn't work for me. Mine boots to a screen that says, "Rebooting". It only appears for 3 seconds, then restarts, and shows the screen "Rebooting".
Here is a video of what is happening, youtu.be/Ny8jghLZrYU
Same problem.
I'm having the same issue with my watch. It is essentially brand new. I've worn at maybe six or eight times since I got it. I feel like I've been horribly abused by Samsung over this , and I can't find anyone to help. Best Buy said they can't help me, and I had the same run around with Verizon and Samsung the other user was having with AT&T and Samsung. I know the watch might not be new tech now, but to me a six-year-old watch is not that old, especially when it has essentially not been used. The battery is good in it, the watch looks perfect and has no scratches, but it's stuck on the loading screen. If anyone has yet found a solution to this, please help.
Quick back story, bought ZW3 and turns out it never made any sounds. Purchased a second one while the first went back to Asus for repair. When I got it back, I confirmed that it was working fine and then I shut it down, out it back in it's original box and put in closet.
After spending the normal time getting the watch and the phone to work as I wanted, I believe everything was working as it should. Then AW 2.0 finally came, and a little more learning, no problem. But then the phone goes to Android 8.0.0 and and I'm back to frustrations, such as no longer when you select your watch in the BT list of paired devices, does it say "connecting" or does the BT icon ever show it's connected, battery life now sucks, blah blah blah.
About 4 weeks ago, ZW3 #2 half the time the sound is low in volume and distorted like a severely blown speaker. So I shut shut it down and pull out ZW #1 and it doesn't want to connect to AW. Eventually I end up defaulting it but holy shizzle sticks! It takes forever to load ll apps and finally update to AW 2.0.... like more than half a day!
Now I bring you to yesterday and ZW #1 stops making sounds altogether AGAIN and on top of all that, I can't get either watch to be seen or therefore connected to AW on the phone. I have repeatedly uninstalled and reinstalled the app on the phone and 90% of the time it opens and sits on a white screen with the logo. Other times it goes to the "Set Up" screen and the first time I set the permissions and such, and after that it goes to the "Select your device" screen but never sees either one.
Now, if I "forget" the devices on the BT setting screen, it pops up with the request to pair and the code, but that makes no difference in AW functioning.
So, What little hidden step am I missing? I should be able to switch back and forth between to identically set up devices, or at least connect to one. So frustrated, plus now I have to figure out how to get Asus to realize that they didn't fix sh!t.
send all three in and tell them to give one good one.
You know you have to have both watches paired to phone, You cant just take second zw3 out and try to use it like it was the first one, do you? Yes? Ok.
Now if there is still problem:
1.Factory reset watch (unpair from phone from within the watch settings)
2.reset wireless connections on phone (will loose all wifi networks and BT paired devices)-but this helped me get rid of wear app misbehaving (like you wrote-forever sitting on splash screen, etc.),
3.clear data and cache of Wear app and then uninstall it
4.Restart phone.
5.Pair the watch.
I've had rooted HTC devices (Hero, EVO 3D) and then rooted Samsung Galaxy S3, Note 8.0 tablet and Note 4 which was my last device before this one. So this is my first unrooted device basically since I rooted my first Android device and I feel like I have no idea what I'm doing. I looked at my Note8 last night to find it in SAFE MODE. This phone has not been activated because I've been using the free WiFi hotspot on my rooted Note 4 to provide internet to my PS4 because the WiFi in the nursing home I'm temporarily in cuts out a lot and I got the Note8 on 9/15 so I'm assuming I'm going to be in trouble with Sprint when I call about now being in default to see if I can fix that before they charge me every penny I'll have for the next 2 years and cut ties with me forever. I've only ever had Sprint. If anyone can give me any tips on what to say when I call about that it would be appreciated. Anyone know how big of a deal it is to be in default like this for a few months? They never told me I was even in default. I figured it out. They haven't been charging me for the lease, not once.
Anyway, this unactivated Note8 has not been updated at all either. I haven't installed anything in the last couple of days prior to safe mode starting, that I recall. Samsung stock apps are constantly updating though. Can anyone point out the stupid thing that I did or didn't do that probably caused this? And can anyone help me? Please? I'm good with this stuff. Usually. lol
Edit: I forgot to say that in an attempt to fix it, I rebooted the phone more than once. I used the thing that shows up in the notifications to get it out of safe mode and I also just held the power button down and tapped reboot when it popped up. No change. I powered it off then left it off for 2 minutes and powered back on with no change. I have had a major issue with the volume rocker since I got the phone. Like it really never moved. I had to get an app to control the volumes and use Tasker to control the profiles in the app. Once in a while, I could get it to work but then it would act as if I was holding it in which I wasn't. Maybe 2 days before it went into safe mode, I pressed down hard on the volume up button and it snapped. Ever since it would make a sound at random times like the volume button was being pressed even though the phone was just sitting and the screen was usually off at the time. After it went into safe mode, I messed with it enough that the sound stopped and I did get the volume rocker to move in each direction though now that it seems to be in a neutral position I don't want to mess with it at all. I tried to reboot to see if it would come out of safe mode after that but there was no change.

Okay, so let me get this straight. You got the phone through the Sprint Lease Program, but you never activated the phone? Did you get the insurance for the phone?
Easy fix, if you are within the 14 days of owning it, take it back and get a new one. If you have insurance, file a claim.
Other then that you could see if it boots to download mode and try to flash the firmware for it. Everything will be gone but it should fix the issue.
Ok, so here is to explain what happened, so you can have a clue what am I talking about.
I bought Galaxy A71 a month ago (give or take), so out of the box it had Android 10. The phone was working flawlessly. Battery life awesome, pictures from camera great, etc. So, few days ago on March 26, 2021, an update to Android 11 came in. I am a tech nerd, I know about phones, rooting, flashing, etc.
So, I saw that I have around 78-80% of the battery so it was enough to download and install Android 11.
Downloading and installing and optimizing apps after went smooth as silk. I usually soft restarting my device after any software update, so I did that after the installation of Android 11 was entirely finished.
But, this is what happen when I restart my phone the normal way. I press and hold the power button, the dialog of Power off, Reset and Airplane mode came out, tapped twice the reset button and phone went restarting and just.... died. I remember that when I soft restarted my phone, the battery was on 72%. So I tried any trick in the books to turn on my phone again like combinations of pressing buttons, then with USB cable, charger, etc, but nothing was responsive. It's like the phone was clinically dead.
My phone is still under warranty and I will probably end up taking it to the T-mobile store, but the point of this thread is to inform others of the situation like mine and see if someone else had the same problem?
Maybe someone will post a solution what to do in situations like this?
If I find any solution, I will update this post with all the details.

Yes i did, nothing shows in Device Manager. As I said, I tried every possible trick to wake the phone up, but it was unsuccessful.
I end up taking it to the carrier store cuz it is still under warranty. They told me if they can't fix it, they'll probably give me a new one or to wait for Galaxy A72 To arrive in 2 weeks. We'll see what happens.

Least you still have A warranty to help you.

They fix it, it said it was software problem, got stuck on rebooting. I get it today (2 weeks later) and it worked. They managed to turn it on but without a factory reset, every app was there, every picture, video, contacts, call history, etc. I don't know how they did it, but they did. So when I got my phone back I tried to restart it normal way, long press of the power button, then tap Restart and again restart. The phone restart it without a problem. I was happy. Then later that day (2 hours ago when I'm writing this, I notice that always on display when i touch the phone screen will show up but doesn't switch off after 10 seconds (I set it up like that), instead it started to blink in intervals like i was touching the screen continuously. Then I did a deep soft reset. You know, when you press Volume down and Power button at the same time and.... got the same problem again. Phone is non functional, none combination of pressing buttons worked, just like i describe it in the OP. Just for information, I did the same on my previous phone Galaxy A7 2018 and never had this problem. I did it on this phone too, never had a problem. Then I remember it that on both phones when i do that and not having problems were running on Android 10. this phone now update it to Android 11 and that buttons combination is probably bricking the phone. It's just a thing I notice. So I am planning to call the official service that fixed the phone how did they do it, so maybe I can do it myself too. I don't want to wait for another 2 and a half weeks.
I am facing the same issue. And I think my warranty is out. Did you get to ask them how can you turn it on yourself!!
I would really appreciate some help here!
