Hello guys,
Today the phone's signal was gone, I restarted the phone and it didnt come back, but after leaving the area it came back. After that I tried to run a USSD code, the phone was making a call instead of running it, so I checked phone info in *#*#4636#*#* I found that IMEI is 0000000. Restarting didnt help.
One thing I did yesterday is changing preferred network type to LTE to see what happens in *#*#4636#*#*.
Im running 4.2.2 stock and no s-off. Can you please help?

Why don't you doble check that through adb with "fastboot getvar all" see what IMEI it shows there.
Did you buy this phone locally or from a carrier? Also, have you tried a factory reset?
*S¡gned
Do you have any backup of efs folder.?
hey, I just did a factory reset and it came back. Thanks

Many thnx for your reply
i already tried this wz no use
Maybe data is disabled? Try enabling it. Call your provider maybe something is wrong with them?
If you just got this new then simply take it back to the shop.

If you bought it over the internet...try flashing it with the right firmware for the location where you are at...Perhaps LGE Mobile Modem or whatever it is called, like iPhone's baseband has a problem connecting to the network provider, due to the configuration or firmware. But in most cases the problem is in KISS- keep it simple silly...and from my experience it is the problem with the network provider or SIM. Try the sim card in another 3G capable mobile phone if it works o another phone that it is not the sim card. After that reset to factory defaults your Optimus 4X and put in the card. Do not jailbrake-root it. Just test it with the sim card. If that does not help, upgrade or reflash the firmware. If you need assistance. mail me.
I hope it helps. Good luck.
We have a SIM tool kit that might helps. It's one of the apps.

1st i tried every thing i know
i called my carrier (Vodafone) and they stated that it is a Mobile phone problem after we tried all troubleshooting they suggested including adding the APN manually and etc. then i contacted LG middle east to help me and they couldnt help either
finally one of the Vodafone technical team called me and informed me that this is a known issue from their side and we configured the APN with different type and it worked
similar problem!!
I have a similar issue as the original poster.
I got my Optimus 4X HD about 2 months ago. Everything was working fine until a few weeks ago (I think it happened after an update I got)..my phone would just randomly loses connection to the network (no data, no text messaging, no calling). I tried turning airplane mode on and off and also tried to have the phone search for networks and they didn't work. The only solution is to reboot the phone. This is happening at least twice a day... I tried my sim on another phone and didn't have any issues so I don't think it's a carrier problem.
I also did a factory reset but problem still persists.
My phone's software version is LG-P880-V10d-OCT-16-2012
Kernel version 2.6.39.4
Baseband version L6260_MODEM_SIC_02.1216.01
Build number IML74K
Android version 4.0.3
Anyone have any idea how to fix this without rooting the phone???
Thanks in advance!

Very funny
Didn't noticed shame on me...
Don't know if anyone else has experienced this problem, but my phone seems like it's suddenly stopped receiving gsm signal. I still have an internet service but can't send or receive text messages or voice calls! It was fine one minute, then the next I had no gsm signal? I hadn't rebooted or anything, it just disappeared! Is there anyone out there that can please help me?
Thanks in advance.

Yeah it's fine and my apn's are fine too. I've also tried different SIM cards. Also when I try and register onto a network it won't allow me, it'll only allow automatic network selection.

I had previously exactly the same problem with my One X and Cyanogenmod 10.1 ...
I had to rewipe completely the phone (system, data, sdcard, dalvik,...) and reinstall the entire features (recovery, kernel, rom, gapps,...) every time I was installing an update. It did like this since the RC3 and each time then with RC4, RC5 and stable.
If I reinstalled something seperately (rom, recovery or kernel) and rebooted after each installation, it wasn't working.
Just try to wipe everything and reinstall.
Hope you'll get it working again soon...
my battery was running low one day, so I decided to used 2g only to save battery, I used the 4636 method switched to gsm only, then switched back. Now every time I reboot it's will boot as gsm only, I have to 4636 every boot. And it's a been month, during this time I wiped my phone a couple times and flashed a couple roms but still the same. Can anyone help me out here real quick thanks

Have you tried pulling the SIM and reinserting it, and restarting?
U can change the type of network in Setting right
Sent from my HTC One _zyc5026
Pulling the sim? No I haven't, I don't see how would that help but I will give it a shot anyways.
And no I'm on latest insertcoin and there isn't an option to change it under setting..

Hi,
Ironically, I was messing with 4636 today as well and have lost LTE.
How can I get my settings reset? Is it just pulling the SIM and popping back in with a restart?
To fix this I went into APN's and clicked the menu button on the top right, hit restore defaults or something like that and tada.
the sim card thing didnt work. how do i reset apn? i cant find it in setting under mobile network for some reason?
edit: nm got it, reset to default, but it didnt do the trick.
Odd worked great for me

Hello everyone,
I am somewhat new to android phones, as I just got an HTC One 3 months ago. I successfully rooted my phone and installed the Android revolution hd rom for Jelly bean 4.2. Recently whenever I try to use my data it doesn't work, even though I have a good amount of bars. Also I have not been able to receive mms messages and pictures, they just say "message not downloaded, generic network failure". Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks,
Whawhasiscumba

Go to settings > Mobile Data > Access point names and see if theres anything there. You may need to log onto your carriers website and download APN/MMS settings.

Ok so I entered in all of the APN information, and saved it. Is there a step I missed because it unfortunately I still not working. I noticed that I had some other APNs in my list and I was able to select one of them to use. Should I be able to do the same with the one I just saved?

What carrier are you with first of all ?
I am with AT&T.

Try typing *#*#4636#*#* in the dialer, click "phone information", then go down and set preferred network type to "gsm/wcdma/lte auto" That's what worked for me.

I just tried the phone information, unfortunately no luck. Thanks though. When I rebooted my phone today there was a notification that popped up that said "sim card inserted, tap to complete setup". I tapped it and a list of my "providers" popped up but at&t wasn't on the list.Is this the source of the problem?
I'm not sure, I've never seen that. Have you tried taking your SIM card out and putting it back in?
You could always call att, ask to get transferred to tech support and have them enter the codes for you. Maybe they got messed up somehow? Idk...

I fixed this by going into the service menu and hitting "NV rebuild"
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm not talking about no LTE like some have reported, I have absolutely not service. No data, no voice, no 2G, no 3G, no edge, nothing. My unlock code came in tonight, I punched it in, it said successfully unlocked, and I'm stuck.
1. Device is not blacklisted. IMEI is clean. Phone status still has IMEI and baseband info.
2. I've tried multiple APNs and restarted after selected each.
3. I have bars, but no service is reported. If trying to make a call, it says "not registered on network."
4. I called AT&T to do anything on their end. Whatever they did didn't change anything.
5. I've tried searching for networks under "mobile operators."
6. Tried a factory reset.
If anyone can help, please let me know. Thanks.
Edit: My sim came from a nexus 6. Everything still works fine after putting the sim back in there.
Can u give more detail on how u fixed this? Thanks!

With help from your thread about the secret menu
I had initially gone in there about a week ago to see if there was any option to unlock like in previous models. I was trying to be careful not to change anything, but I guess I must have messed something up. Somewhere in there there is an option of "NV Rebuild." I don't remember exactly where it is at and I don't want to ever go back in that menu again
