So for some reason, my screen keeps recognizing clicks that i don't do. In another way, it clicks on itself. I can leave it on the table with the screen on and by itself, it will make a phone call, or open an app or something. It only clicks on stuff that are in the bottom 1/5th of the screen. Its on every rom, not just the midnote 2.0 that i am using.
Anyone have a solution?
Sounds like a display issue. have u recently sat on it or maybe applying pressure to that part of the screen? or it may be cause by magnets on cases etc....not really sure if it can be fixed unless u replace the whole screen entirely...
Same screen issue!
My Galaxy Note just started doing this as well. Mine is on a stock rom, and I've tried a factory reset and it hasn't helped. I'm wondering if there's some sort of screen diagnostics out there that can help identify the issue. The problem is intermittent, but sometimes when it gets going its just click after click after click on the same spot...
Nope I haven't sat on it. Do you think Samsung would fix it under the two year warranty?

After the factory wipe and reset do you check to see what applications are running? Do you have absolutely no other apps that have been installed?
There have been some early warnings of virus being written for android so I have used an antivirus program for last eight weeks and never had a problem - perhaps you have an unwelcome visitor?
Otherwise definitely go for a replacement, especially if the phone is only a few weeks old.
I use an antivirus app that I downloaded from the market a little while ago. I ran a scan with it and there is nothing wrong so I guess that my best bet would be to get a replacement. Will Samsung replace it even though I am in the us?

I have had the N7 for 5 days and after an hour of gaming (on the 23rd) I found the battery got very hot and that a line appeared down the screen. At first I turned it off thinking it could be solved, but that did not work. The line is a red line that goes down the screen form the camera down and is perfectly straight. The other thing is that it is above the battery where the device got hottest.
I am returning the N7 and getting a replacement.
Anyone else having this problem.?

Ok, I am replacing it but have not yet received the shipment sheet via email to stick on the box. Overall the service they have is quite good but i am a little concerned that they are having a lot of people returning.
I have an black horizontal line in the bottom section. Just sent an email to Google asking what to do.
I got a red and blue line going down my cell phone screen. The replacement screen should be coming today. If my N7 has something wrong with it after I have waited this long for it I'll be real bummed.

That blows. I just installed the screen and the lines are gone. When do you think someone will start selling replacement parts?

I have the same problem. What do you mean 'replacement screen', google just send you a new screen without returning your pad?
I prefer they sending me a new screen and I fix it by myself too.
I thought people did lines down mirrors? Nexus 7 could work..
I had a rainbow colored line down my screen new out of box, Google sent a new unit the return process is painless.
Hi everyone, i would like to share a experience i've had with both of my nexus 4 ordered from the google play with you other n4 possessors.
This is not a troubleshooting topic it's just a kind of survey i'm doing.
I've received my nexus 4 in december, and i noticed there was something going on with the display, some horizontal lines stayed on the screen while i was swiping the homescreen or changing image/scrolling webpages. Then after a while i noticed there was a dark horizontal line on the left side of the screen. This line doesn't appear on white images, it can be seen more on grey or dark backgrounds, e.g. put the 4th default wallpaper and scroll all the way to the left and you should be able to see it. Also, this line became more and more marked on the screen depending on the temperature of the battery, e.g. while charging or playing heavy games or flash player. I called google play ordered a replacement and i got it the day after, turn it on, install all my apps, and the line was STILL there, also on the new device.
My question is, am I so unlucky that i've received 2 faulted devices from google or everyone has this problem? can anyone please check?
P.s. put brightness to the maximum when checking.
where is this line appearing i cant understand

On the left of the screen, horizontal dark line, it can be seen better on a gray or dark image, such as the wallpaper i suggested
The line actually appears when I'm swiping away recent apps..hadn't noticed until now. It could probably be fixed with switching roms though. I'm on JD's perfect android right now. This is my 3rd nexus device, no problems on it, 303k.

Thanks for checking justin, can you also check it again when the battery gets warmer? like just play a heavy 3d game or charge the phone. it should be more marked, sometimes i can even see it over my power control widget :crying:
Yeah my line is different I believe, I put the phone to charge and put on grand theft auto. Nothing really appeared.

Anyone else willing to check their displays and help me out?
Are you sure you don't mean vertical line? on the left side.
If so then yes mine has it.
I can't see any line on my display
oh god guys i meant Vertical..meangreenie is right.. sorry everyone, i mean vertical line on the left of the screen!
I've got 2 vertical lines on both sides of the screen (left and right) and they're not that much visible but they're always there. IT just looks as if those sides were a little bit dimmer than the rest of the screen.
I have same problem on my n4,there's grey line on left screen which more visible when the device getting heat..is it possible to disappear by itself after few time?or should i claim my warranty?thx before and sorry for my bad english
Guys I'm having the same issue. Should I claim my warranty? Or any solution to make it disappear? For me this is a very costly phone and I don't wanna take any risks. I can see the line in most apps even in chrome while typing in address bar the window greys out. At that time its perfectly visible. Its jus 1 month old n now I'm **** scared

I'm glad I caught this thread. I bought a refurbished Nokia wireless charging plate. I didn't have the good sense to check XDA first, and sure enough the thing has compatibility issues. I thought I'd just leave it on the plate overnight to settle in as some people have suggested, and after about an hour my screen was violently flashing on and off with pronounced vertical lines over the screen (discoloration, not a line of pixels). After a while the lines mostly faded, but I can still see them just as described in this thread when I pull down the notification tray or open any app with a grey background (like the gallery).
I just got an RMA today. I'm wondering whether we've all experienced power issues or if I just didn't notice the lines until I was looking for them.

I'm not so sure that this is even a problem that an RMA is going to fix. Like I said, I only noticed it when I was looking for it. Might just be a charactaristic of a batch of panels, more like a light leak than damage.
However, if it is damage there is no way you're fixing it without an RMA. It's clearly not a software level issue.
I thought I was the only one. Mine has it but I barely notice it anymore.

My phones original lcd panel and digitizer got busted 2 weeks ago. I bought spare parts from internet and its now working. But weird thing happened. On my previous screen I have never experienced a single white screen issue but now I am one of the few to have it. Its gotta be an issue about several panels. And my screen quality dropped heavily... Gonna lend this phone to my dad soon anyways. I just wanted to warn you guys.
What ROM are you using? If you're using CM 10.1 try to install the 07/07/2013 build (why don't you try the 07/07/2013 build by bleached? It works very very well! :good: )
I know but I am not gonna bother. stock seems fine right now.
Excuse me, explain right..
You have a whitescreen issue with Stock ROM?

About this, I think that you keep the screen on direct sun light! Or under a desk lamp.
I recommend, to keep the phone on cold places.
I had same problem when I had the phone on my bag at school.....It was automaticaly turned off, and when I try to power on it says battery low.
(Even I charged it before).

OK, I've noticed a strange occurrence that happens on my phone, its like the screen shifts down. What's up with that? I've attached an image below showing you what I mean.

Wow. That's strange. Wonder if its a software issue vs a hardware issue. I've had my nexus 6 for a little over a month and haven't had that happen yet
I'm thinking it might be a software issue, I didn't notice this until I updated from 5.0.1 to 5.1

with that line down the middle it seems like it's a permutation of the screen tearing effect.

Known issue on the Nexus 6. Some devices the screen will "split" or tear down the middle and be unresponsive. I've had it happen. Your picture shows a definite line down the middle of your screen and I wonder if it is just another version of that issue.
line through screen
Hi guys
I too have the same issues with the Nexus 6. I notice it every time I watch netflix. Watching it horizontally, I will hat a horizantal line in middle and then sometimes even a vertical line. SO it looks like 4 window panes. I have to shut off phone to correct issue. Please let me know if you come up with a fix.
Thanks

Does the screen go black, or does it freeze. If it is the latter, most people say an RMA will resolve it.

It continues playing the movie with the black line. I have read this happens often w Netflix our this phone.
Happened to me too. I've read that for some people locking and then unlocking the screen solves it but I had to restart it to bring it back to normal. The screen stayed responsive though.
I can only assume that no fix for this has been found. I also have the issue, though turning off the screen and turning it back on fixes it until the next time it messes up.

My nexus 6 started having this problem from a few weeks ago. I think I saw the black-line-in-the-middle issue initially as well, but the prevalent issue for me right now is shifted or wrapped-around screen (need to figure out how to post a picture - this is my first post). The amount of shift sometimes varies (as much as half of the screen), and the video playback is not affected (phone works fine other than the screen shift), and screen is not frozen. I have had the phone for about 6 months (T-mobile) and it's not rooted and it has the latest android version (5.1.1 I think). Initially it showed up when playing netflix for a while (like 10 minutes), then it happened in youtube as well. It only happens when the screen is in landscape mode, and it does not happen every time. Turning off the screen then turning it back on does not make the problem go away. Only reboot can fix the issue, but the problem will come back after some play time.
I haven't seen any post talking about the same problem, let alone people talking about this kind of problem 6 months after using their phones (most screen problems reported are within a few days after the phone was received). Anyone has similar experience? I haven't talked to t-mobile yet but I will. The last android update on my phone was from a while ago so it shouldn't be related to that, but it could be related to netflix/youtube app updates but I don't remember when I updated last time. I am also using a phone cover with a lid which I expect would make heat dissipation situation worse but I started using that cover many months ago so I don't think it should be related either.
Not same issue I'm quite sure but I had a small think black like going across my screen, just appeared one day... This line didn't quite touch the edges of the screen but had an even gap on each side where it ended. I did a factory reset and no dice so I ended up taking it back to Sprint and after attempting to tighten a ribbon and they could not fix it they ordered me a new one and I see now that my og N6 was indeed defective as the speakers sounded completely different and on this new one speakers don't sound like crap.. Tk God for insurance.
