Ad Hoc Connection problem

Hi,
I've setup a adhoc connection before via my vista laptop that has a wired connection to connect my x1i to the net. everything worked perfect. i could go on the internet with my x1i wifi connection and everything.
but now when i set up the adhoc connection my x1i connects to it perfect but i dont have internet on it...does anybody know what my problem is???

question about tethering

my desktop has a PPPOE internet connection.
can i share tether it and make my X8 a wireless router and have other devices(laptops) use that wireless connection?
my x8 doesnt have any mobile data connection by the way.

if you use windows, you can try this to have inet-connection on your x8. though i'm not sure if you can create a wifi-hotspot then

that windows application does not recognize my x8 because i have a costum kernel :-<

If you want your laptop to be the wifi hotspot , use "Connectify".
If you want your SE X8 to be the wifi hotspot , use "Barnacle Wifi Tether"

[Q] Internet sharing

How do I connect to internet from my Note?
Scenario:-
3G services on Note are not working.
I do not have a wifi router at home
I have a cable internet connection and can connect my laptop to internet.
I am running on Stock ROM , no ROOT.
Any help is greatly appreciated

Since you don't have a router , create an adhoc wifi connection in your laptop and connect your note to that network.
Now go to the settings of your wired connection in your laptop and enable 'sharing' .
That's all.....you can now use your wired connection on your note through the AD hoc wifi network

Wifi Hotspot issue

Hi all,
I am having problems with Wifi Portable Hotspot on my phone. I turn the Portable Hotspot on and it seems to work. However, after connecting to the hotspot with my laptop or iPad, there is no internet connection despite being "connected".
Pretty sure my carrier does not ban tethering, since USB and Bluetooth tethering works fine. Any suggestions?
Edit: Fixed. Turns out one of the mods for Xperia Z is not fully compatible with this phone.

WiFi hotspot

Is it possible ? that I could turn on WiFi hot-spot (not USB tethering) while connecting to Internet through WiFi.....
