So i caved and got the tab.
it seems good to me.
the Jp has 2.2 running 2.3 doesn`t seem to be out yet.
i played Sonic ep 2 THD for about 1 hour tab went down 12% so seems ok with battery life, screen was 50%.
i noticed once only when waking from sleep while docked i got garbled screen. a switch off/on fixed this.
seems fast and smooth and i don`t have that sensor issue i saw on another thread perhaps why jp has not got 2.3 no big issues in software so no need to rush a fix?
As others mentioned would be kewl for a speaker on dock.
while i knew it would happen a few games from my acer won`t install to this new tab. Example sonic 4 ep 1 and sim city deluxe.
i did get the latest apk rom and do that way then let them download the cache but they freeze.
can`t complain i guess.
You mean JP SKU is still on 4.2, and has yet to be updated to 4.3?? I can't imagine the TF701 running 2.2 in ANY region!!
SwiftKey'ed from my White Sprint Note 3 via XDA Premium
You mean of course JB 4.2.2.
Can you tell me what production date is on the box of your TF701?
yes 4.2.2
date says 2013.09

You bought it with the keyboard dock?
When yes you have a TF701 from the batch that has the connector problem.
havn`t had any issues with the connector it has some slight movement but it seems the turning bit is moving not the tab wiggling on the connector.
Like i mentioned one time it was connected to dock it was grey fuzz on the screen and i had to reboot.
thats about it.

Look on the Asus box in which your tablet came.
There is a date on it like: Date 2013.09
Means September 2013.

I've been looking high and low for a more generic case with included Bluetooth keyboard in it. Obviously manufacturers are not going to design this for the NookColor since it isn't even support to have bluetooth, so it has to be something more generic. I realize that the 7" Galaxy Tab is similar in size, but slightly smaller, so anything designed for the Tab specifically with no give for space is not going to work.
Has anyone found one that has worked well for them? There is one at Suntek Store (Black Leather Case with Bluetooth Keyboard for 7 inch Tablet PC
Item ID: 10010816 - I can't post a link due to not enough posts)looks promising, but my concern is that the Nook just won't fit in there.
Anyhow, thanks in advance, it would be an awesome find!

I've tested a keyboard pairing with BT and working fine, it's just been the fit that's been the issue. Most 10" tablet cases are far too large to put the Nook Color into.
I look the link you sent geek_riot, it's probably very functional but it kind of looks junky like that. I'll keep looking!
I also noticed that the BB Playbook is closer to the dimensions of the nook. I'm going to look into that option as well.
I've just ordered an eWonder bt case/kbd designed for the 7" Galaxy Tab. Hoping I can make it fit. We'll see. $39.99 at Amazon
I previously snagged a Logitech rf full size kbd/mouse combo MK320 that works perfectly with the Nook off a single dongle, but its way too big for travel, & I hate plugging in the dongle with the micro-to-A usb adapter.
Will report back my success/failure with the eWonder!

I can vouch for this one. It works great, solid, though typing at 90 WPM can get laggy.
Overall, 8.5 out of 10.

I'm not having a very good experience with the keyboard - paired easily enough, but the NC stops receiving input from it after 3-4 characters. No such issue with another generic handheld BT keyboard. :/
Anyone else using the eWonder having good success?

Has worked very well for me. I have no major complaints at all. Your milage may vary!
A couple of issues to note that you may find annoying. It is at least 3/8" thicker than other cases due to kbd. Also weighs noticeably more for same reason. Has no clasp on outside to hold both halves together when carrying. Also, it goes to sleep if no key is struck for about 5 min. When that happens, it disconnects from Nook. When a keystroke wakes it, it takes 20 sec or so to reconnect. Can be annoying. The up side is it is energy conservative. Im heavy user so I have to recharge the Nook daily (sometimes 2X/day). I charged the kbd 10 days or so ago when I first got it, had have not had to recharge it yet. Also, you REALLY should turn off the Android kbd when using the bt kbd!
Again, caveat emptor.

I just received this kybd but am unable to connect- it searches and finds "Bluetooth Keyboard" and then when I tap on it, it asks me for a PIN number. I tried both "0000" and "1234" as suggested but nothin doin. Also, how DO you turn off Android kbd?

I didn't have that prob. Did you enter the "0000" on the kbd immediately after you entered it on the Nook (i.e. type in 0000 and hit Enter)? Gots to enter it on both or it won't pair, & pretty quickly when prompted. Then, once it pairs & connects, you never have to enter it again.
To turn off the built-in kbd, go to Settings:Language & Keyboard, and if you are paired/connected, the Android kbd will be likely be checked, and Null kbd will be shown (that's the bt kbd). Simply click off the Android kbd. Keeps it from popping up each time you need to enter a line.
Come on B&N
haha they needa start coming out with these types of cases and accessories for the new revolution of tabletry lol
Nook BTkb Option
I just purchased a BT Keyboard designed for the "Galaxy 8.2-inch" Tablet.
It is a bit "loose" on the Nook; however, a couple of strips of the "hook" part of some two-part, adhesive-backed, Velcro(tm) tape and it nestles right into the keyboard holder and "frames up" nicely in the opening. The keyboard is a bit bigger, too -- which also helps those of us with "fat" fingers.
Anyway, no "warranty-voiding" modifications were required to either the Nook or the Keyboard to make it work. The cost was about $35...

That 13.3mm difference in length is equivalent to over half of an inch. I'm not familiar with the case you're asking about, but I can't think of many designs that fit well with tablet over 1/2" longer
alright...i just got here today: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bluetooth-K...Accessories&hash=item20c477fe0f#ht_2366wt_807
so based on a couple of hours playing with the keyboard. its not the best. kind of small. so my fat fingers double type alot. but maybe its something i can work out over time. another thing, the feedback isnt the best. it is very difficult to tell whether you actually pressed down on the key. my speed has been reduced because i cant tell if i actually pressed the key and the spacing is very small between the keys.
now, as far as fitment. it is a very snug fit!! the nook is a little fatter than the Samsung Tab 7". but it fits. a little stretching and a little cutting. no big deal. it does the job.
the leather...well..feels fake. so dont expect real leather...hehehe!!
but for 30bucks...not bad. pairing was easy. no issues there. i'll check back in when i've used it for a while.
if anyone has any questions...dont hesitate...post here or PM...
thanks!

After about five minutes of initial use I found that my nexus 7 was getting very hot near the dock connector. Nothing really pressing, downloaded a few apps, light browsing.
Is anyone else having this issue?
Have not noticed anythig geting hot on mine
I brought a nexus 7 from goole play and benber seen any sunch problems.
I also have this problem. It's not exactly "hot" but it's definitely warmer than the rest of the tablet.

Hello all!
I had a road accident recently (on a bike, hit by a car) and I'm ok thank God, but my beloved O2X had seen better days.. As I landed it was squeezed in my pocket against my leg and the road while having an extended battery fitted, so you can imagine how much it was stressed..
The digitizer seems intact, but screen remains black although backlighted normally and the phone appears to start. I flashed the official ICS ROM and tested the phone with the HDMI cable.. [was running DJMX1.4+KoB0.5OC before] I have never used the HDMI output before, so I don't know if the following problem already existed: The behavior of the video stream was weird and laggy, showing delayed snapshots not linear in time.. That is, if you were watching the seconds of a digital clock, they would flow like: 1, 4, 5, 3, 9, 6, 12, 15, 10.. You get the picture.. Sound is unaffected though. I shot a video of it so that you can check if you like..
My only worry is, can my 2X me saved with just a new screen (e.g. from those from ebay) or seeing this you believe that its main board was also affected?
Thank you very much for your time in advance and excuse me for my long post..

I already disassembled it and nothing inside *looks* damaged.. Put it back together, flashed original ICS ROM blindly and then tried the HDMI..
Where I live it is quite hard to have it checked cause no shop is willing to take the responsibility. They all say that they will send it to the one and only official dealer in my country's capital city and the whole procedure just for shipping, plain checking and return costs 35 euros, while a new screen costs 70euros here.. The ebay screen looks genuine and costs 32euros shipped.. I'm puzzled..
Update!
I decided to gradually order the parts needed for the repair. I ordered a new screen (35E) and it worked perfectly, but there was a non-responsive horizonal strip on the digitizer apart from the scratches, so I also ordered a digitizer with frame (another 35E).
The phone started up normally, but it drained the battery in about 3 hours, overheating at the area of the proximity sensor, and the proximity sensor was stuck at the "near" output. So I replaced the upper FPCB (7E) and it now works perfectly! Great phone, that P990..
I was just wondering why the tf701 isn't added to the forum yet.
I have heard nothing about it over at xda, is it me or are people just not stoked to welcome this device?
This also makes me wonder on how development is going to be on this device..

Nope, didnt have any tablet before. the dock feels slightly cheap, but can be due to the light weight.
I've read about that reboot crash stuff aswell at amazon, but i did not experience such things so far, AND there is already a new firmware that fixes those problems (also written at amazon).
What i also like is that Asus already released the Bootloader unlocker, but since only have it since 4 days i want to wait until i do such things.
Negative points so far: No Vibration.
positive points so far: Battery, Floating Apps, not that much bloat ware.

I was able to root my tf700t without unlocking bootloader, in fact i've customized it to a maximum level using only root.
So no rom flashing or anything.
Maybe that method will work on the tf701, but I highly doubt it cause its a new processor.
Still waiting for the new infinity to come to shops, it's available in webshops but I want to have a warranty at a store.
Can't wait to have it though

I received my TF701 yesterday. In the Netherlands it is already available in some webshops.
First impression:
- crystal clear screen (in one word: WOW)
- no lag of any sort: everything works great
- graphics on games as Beach Buggy Blitz are amazing! No lag of any sort, not even on the highest resolution etc.
- tablet itself has an aluminium cover (dark grey). It does not look purple like the prime. I like it, but that's a personal thing
- WiFi is excellent! Compared to the Transformer Prime, that is not a surprise. However, the TF701 detects the same signals as the 17" laptop, a desktop PC with a USB-wifidongle and a cellphone (Samsung Galaxy S3 mini) do.
- GPS is detecting satellites instantly
And now the cons:
- the dock is made of plastic and sounds plastic, al little cheap. Everything works as it should though...
- I tried to plug in a USB-stick: some force is needed (though I thinks that has to do with the stick, which is always in my pocket...
- at start up I tried the mousepad, it did not work instantly... After I plugged in a USB-stick, it worked splendidly (every time). It seems you have to 'activate' the mousepad
- I am desperately missing root... I'd like to put back my backups, but that doesn't work right now.
- the server to update firmware automaticly was down yesterday.

Thanks for informing me ^^
About that usb stick insertion thing, I had the same thing going on with my tf700 with any usb cable or stick. it's definitely the usb port I think.
You could try and root using motochopper or a CF auto root. This doesn't affect your bootloader what so ever so if it works, its great, and if it fails.. well it just fails then, no harm there at all
I have tried motorchopper and DebugfsRoot_Generic_v2.3. They both did not work: I have no root.
And for the record: I am NOT taking a risk of HARD-BRICK my brandnew device... So no flashing and downgrades for me the next 24 months...
True.
but tbh, i flashed the new firmware today cause i had a random reboot yesterday. So far the slight lags are gone, and no reboots, i'll keep on testing
The mousepad issue has been fixed in the latest firmware update and is working fine now on my TF701
I have mine since last week (Switzerland) and I am VERY happy with it! Eagerly waiting for the forum to discuss on XDA - and root of course!
I really have no complaints about the device until now. No reboots, no problem with dock and keyboard, fast like hell, long battery life and a superduper screen )) Every USB stick I tested worked fine and my 64 GB SanDisk microSD adds a looot of fast storage. Charges in under 3 hours, I love that!
It can easily stream 1080p MKV files from my NAS with BSPlayer without struggling... Comming from Galaxy Tab 10.1 (first version) it's an upgrade in every matter I can think of!
Can someone post up some pics of the device? I heard that the US will be it first week of Nov. I hope that is true.

Really looking forward to the TF701 - thanks for the info from those lucky enough to have one already. I've been waiting ages for this - but then haven't we all!
An upgrade for my TF101 is overdue.
Glad to hear random reboots appear to be not happening / or are being resolved with OTA upgrades.
Anyone know of availability in the UK?
I'd like anyone who actually RMA'd either their Tablet, Dock or both due to the tablet/dock disconnect issue to please vote in the poll above.
Please Only Vote If you RMA'd due to this issue..
Please also comment in the thread if you're issue was resolved with answers to the following:
* What was noted as the resolution.
* Is it a different dock?
* What is the build date of your working dock?
* Is their noticeably less slack in the connection (tablet wiggle)?
Just trying to get a feel for what people's experience has been... Ultimately, I hope to help everyone with a faulty dock/tablet connection understand what they should send in, and what they should state is wrong for the best fix rate.
Thanks!
LK
Wow so many options And none of them for mine.
I RMA's mine (both tab and dock as Asus wouldn't take just the dock) as I had a the loose hinge issue but no disconnects yet. They sent it back apparently fixed but I can't see any difference. It still wobbles in the hinge.

LOL, the one option I didn't think of!
I had two different tablets and the dock disconnected on both, so they just wanted the dock. Didn't do me any good though..
So no disconnects on your setup at all?? At least someone's is working..
