I always lost connection even if I'm just beside the router, and if I got signal and went away from the router the shift from wifi to 4g does not work until I restart.

[Q] JVS wifi issue

Hi guys, any ideas on how to fix the frequent wifi disconnecting issue in JVS? I tried changing wifi driver, changing bootloader, nothing seems to be working. On other base such as JVR and JVQ, I don't seems to be facing this. So it's definitely JVS, and I also seen people who's facing the same issue as me. So any helps on how to fix this is greatly appreciated .
install jvp bootloaders.
wtf does a bootloader have to do with wifi issues?
clear the address reservations or try a different encryption method

Clear address reservations? how? different encryption method on the router or the phone? hope u can elaborate for me .
Most users reported the issues were gone when they removed address reservation for their phone on the router. I assume you don't have one then. What method of security for your wifi network do you use ? WEP? WPA2 ?

There is a problem with kernels based on older versions than JVS. If you use stock kernel or DarkCore or any other JVS based kernel the Wifi problem should be solved.

Is there any other way of solving this problem. Because I am gonna need wifi for public AP at least.
I didn't have any custom kernel just stock JVS odex, (repartition checked in odin with 512 pit) and still had that problem.

I didn't notice these problems on MIUI 1.9.23, maybe it's fixed there or did anyone noticed the wifi issues on MIUI?
I think the problem occurs on some devices on others don't. Similar as Phone FC bug. Many people had it, me personally never...
After reading a lot of post looking for a solution my conclusion today is that there is NO FIX for WIFI BUG on JVS today.
As thsi apperas to be quite random phenomena, some people just flash a kernel, rom bootloader,etc...fix their problem and think they have foud THE solution, but unfortunately there is no fix that works always
I hope, wish, desire somebody probe me wrong
Well i found out that everthing is working fine at my girlfriends wifi but at home there are the wifi issues. So I think it's something in the wifi, which the phone isn't able to handle with.

[Q] X8 GingerXperia Wi-fi problem

I have installed GingerXperia custom ROM just a week ago. My Android version is 2.3.7 and kernel is 2.6.29.6-nAa-14. I have now CWM based Recovery. Wifi was worked for 2 weeks and now when I turn it on, it couldn't explore the new stations. So I can not connect to the internet.
What do you think, what should be the problem?
Thanks in advance for your help!

[Q] Problem with CM based ROM!

Hello. My wifi works perfectly fine on LG's stock firmware. But it isn't working for me on any other custom rom at all really. I've been googling a lot about it and I really can't find anyone else with this problem. What in the world is going on?

if security type is WEP, it's a known bug with no known possible solution - workaround is to switch to WPA security

It has nothing to do with my wifi. I can't turn on wifi at all. Like it's just grayed out. My wifi also didn't work on stock after I flashed a custom kernel. But it works with stock kernel

I've tried official cyanogenmod, Xenon HD and PAC. I tried Iodak kernel on both CM and stock. Iodak kernel actually worked with wifi though on stock. I tried werewolf for cm (didn't work) and EternityProject for both cm and stock which didn't work

[Q] [i9001] Wifi problems after flashing KKernel

Hello!
I flashed a new kernel for my smoothie rom. And when i go to the wifi settings on/off button is locked on. In wifi settings there is only a text "Starting WIFI".
I think it's not working because the kernel has lowered wifi voltage.
Does anybody else have same problem?
I'll be very grateful if someone would find a fix for this problem.
:good:
Only an idea:
Did you a restart of your device (after flashing kernel)???

I flashed Phenom Kernel v6.1 for 4.3, and wifi is not working anymore. Someone had the same problem there, I don't know how to change my router's channels. Any other ideas?
Ps. I would like to post to dev page, where this kernel is but I can't do that because I don't have over 10 posts in this forum. Isn't that pretty stupid?

[Q] Maclaw 10.2 1GHz and wifi

I was running the lastest build of maclaw's 10.2 from feb 25th but my wifi stopped picking up any signal and when it tries to the cpu is maxed out to 1Ghz.
I've tried the 1ghz bug fixes of turning off wifi and rebooting, changing the scheduler and the governor, They stopped the high cpu usage but i still can't use wifi.
I've tried going back to old versions of the ROM but the problem was still there even after i tried 1Ghz bug fixes again.
when i leave the phone to rest it gets hot (not very hot just hot) and the battery is going down fast! all of which i assume is due to high cpu usage.
Can you help? please?
I would have posted in maclaws thead for the ROM but i don't have enough posts
All help welcome!
Cheers!

Is the feb 25th build the latest one!? You did all that I would suggest to you, so do a nadroid backup (just in case) & do a clean install or flash the newest cm 10.2 version.

Yep it's the latest build for cyanogenmod 10.2 anyway. I'd rather not do a clean install but if i have to i might just go back to an offical rom or maclaws cyanogenmod 11 but that appears to have the 1Ghz bug too.
Thanks for the reply too!

if you use the patch wifi turns on after a reboot automatically without the 1 GHz bug (as it should be...)

Sorry, The wifi can't detect any signal and while it's turned on the cpu stays at 1ghz
Thats the problem
The app sets it so the wifi is never on after reboot so the cpu usage is fine untill i try turn on the wifi
Is that clear? I'm terrible at explaining things sorry.
I just want my wifi to work so i can connect to a network

But this problem does not depend on the 1 GHz bug.

BUT REMEMBER: afaik all custom ROMs (and i tested them all for our device :angel have this 1 GHz bug.
But this is no problem: just turn off wifi manually before restarting the device (takes almost a second ...)
J.
Alright so I've changed to many different roms now and all of them have had this problem.
I've tried maclaws cm10.1, carbon and then cm 11, Cm 11 worked for a few days but the problem returned
I then tried carbon by kevinjoa and marclaws cm 10.2 again but still no wifi
I've just restored it back to out of the factory samsung rom and recovery, my wifi is back! hope it lasts now!
Just to be clear the problem is the wifi can't find any signal at all! and sometimes it cant even turn on. When the phone is trying to do either of those it drives the cpu to max out.
If you have this problem or know what it is or have any ideas how to fix it let me know!
Ok so the problem came back on the stock rom so i'm thinking it's a hardware problem but i need to know specifics like is it the wifi ic chip or what?
I flashed the latest cm10.2 and did a full wipe
I then got a log from the syslog app and i've attached it below, i cant understand anything in it so can you help with that? is there any information in the log as to was the problem is?
right
I noticed that too most custom rom have issue with wifi or gps
but it will fix with time I think

Thats what i thought i might be for a while but i had the problem in the stock samsung rom too.
ok so i don't think it's the ic as the bluetooth is still working fine,
i've also found there are two scenarios:
1.
The wifi can't turn on at all it constantly says turning wifi on....
2.
The wifi takes a few minutes to come on and then it can't pick up any signal at all.
In both of these scenarios the cpu is maxed out constantly too
Also could a mod please change the title of this thread to something like wifi problems please
I'm still trying to fix this guys, I could really use some help.
I've been doing more testing and firstly if I remove the sim and sd cards and boot back up SOMETIMES the wifi will come on with no problems,
I've also found that if i turn on the bluetooth and then reboot the phone the wifi SOMETIMES comes on with no problems
If i combine removing the cards and turning on the bluetooth the wifi ALWAYS works.
When i say the wifi works with no problems i mean NO problems, I can reboot with the cards again and with the bluetooth off and it still works but only for a short time ( 1 or 2 days)
I think the bluetooth is boosting the wifi signal or something and I've idea how/why removing the cards works.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Just posting a small update about 1GHz bug in Mac's 10.2 rom. The very latest release (20140621) is awesome and very good. However, I get the 1GHz bug a lot more than with previous releases. I am also using the GT-I8190XXANR6_modem baseband from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2526831 which is currently the latest one. There should be a new release from Mac shortly, with new samsung kernel... Maybe that does something?
Does anyone else have different results with this rom, but other baseband?
