When I got my Arc repaired there it was just normal royal mail signed for delivery it was returned with.
its usually 48 hours service, not even recorded :S. I have sent them my arc few times before too. Most time I recieved phone next day from when it was sent.

Actually I think you are right, the phone came back just standard delivery - I was thinking about the battery I got sent after that was sent with recorded delivery.
I accidentaly sent my own Mugen battery with the phone to be repaired (I still don't know how I screwed that up, I took the Mugen one out of the phone at the post office, got the standard one out of my bag, then apparently went mad and just put the Mugen one back in ). When they sent my phone back it came with a standard battery not mine. I complained and it took weeks of phoning and I eventually just got another brand new standard battery sent as they wouldn't do anything else about it - I got to keep the other one though leaving me with three Arc batteries.
Its a joke, they had the phone for aobut 1 week, found out they did not even repair the fault and now I have to waint ages for the phone to be delivered. My phone delivery came with a tracking number but no message about the service.
Hello, I have some big problem with my Xperia Z since yesterday:
The power button stopped working. It doesn't do anything. I can't lock the screen or unlock it. I did not drop the device or something, it just happened.
Sometimes when I press volume up, it acts like the power button and asks if I want to shutdown etc. Also I had the problem that my screen was upside down yesterday. I could not get it good and even changing the launcher did not help. Really strange, as if my sensor was completely going nuts.
Anyway, I am backing up right now, and I will try a factory reset. But this is just strange. I am running 4.2.2.
Anyone an idea what is going on?
Did you recently drop your z in to the water with the flaps open or something?

I recently had it in the shower, but with the flaps closed.
Does it look like water damage?
I've recently had the same problem.
Also took in the shower, but because the backglass was lifted slightly from the case because of the overheating problem, water came inside and messed everything up.
Phone is now being repaired. And they said it is water damage.

That sucks. I hope they repair it for free then...
Update: I did factory reset but it did not help
And when I turn the device off, it automatically starts again... I think I have to send it for repair then

I just checked the water detection stickers: USB and headphone are colored pink...
Now it is water-damage, this will cost lots of money and I didn't do anything wrong

Just explain to them that, the flaps were closed but still water got in to the phone.
I got the same button failure when water went in during shower. Got a replacement from Sony.
I have sent it for repair. Not to the default repair center in the Netherlands but to another company which is specialized in repairs too. Cleaning the device costs 20 Euro. There is a chance other components will be broken too after opening/cleaning, but they will try their best.
I have chosen this option instead of returning to the shop/Sony. That because the devices in the Netherlands are sent to a company called Dynafix. Although they have 'fix' in their name their reputation is that they do not fix phones. They sent you big bills for unfixed phones. Mine has waterdamage and colored stickers anyway, so I already knew for 99% chance that I will have the phone returned unrepaired and have to pay a lot of money just for them to see the colored stickers. Or the chance that they will repair it but that it can cost more than 300 euro (they say they swap a lot of components and charge you a lot)...
I will update when I have my Xperia Z back.

Good luck. Yes I understand. Service center folks are far from being considerate, atleast here in India. They lack knowledge and it's hard to reason with them.
Hello,
After submerging the phone under water it seems that the power button is pressed all the time.
Did anyone have this issue? Did the button start to work after a few hours?
I will try to dry it up....
It seems that all the new phones have issues. (Just switched from HTC One)

Update:
They have 'repaired' my Xperia Z. They swapped the mainboard. It did cost €235...
But I haven't been able to use my device anymore. When they gave my device back I noticed the following things:
- proximity sensor is not working
- notification led is not working anymore
- light sensor is not working anymore
(all those functions worked before I brought the device to them)
I went back to the store and told them about these problems. They said: for 35 euros we might be to fix this.
They tried but where not able to fix. I have not paid these 35 euros.
When I came home I accepted my loss of these sensors and I started installing my device and apps.
But there are even more problems!
- At a random time my device switches off, even if battery is full;
- Sometimes I can boot;
- Sometimes it even doesn't boot... Only wipe with Flashtool or through recovery can get the device booting again.
So I have paid an extra €235 and I can still throw it in the bin....
I think I am going to contact Sony...

You should have contacted Sony in first hand. Now that the phone has been messed up by a third company, they can claim that the warranty is voided!

My Powerbutton seemed not to work even after pressing it a few times, i than called myself and it worked (first though the battery would be empty).
Afterwards it worked again, no problems whatsoever.

www.rounded.com is the only place I know of, but they're not cheap. They give prices in INR, so should ship to India. You could contact them and ask about shipping to your location.

Of course you can repair it. It's just not as easy as usual phones because of the water resistance (everything is glued to the frame).
See this thread for a guide on replacing the screen assembly.

I use this firm all the time ,the turn round on delivery is very good to the UK

I know the above video is for a screen replacement but if you watch it it will give you the knowledge to take down a Sony Xperia Z
This is the only firm that i could find to purchase a replacement gasket to reseal the back cover, for the sake of £3.00 i couldn't see the point in skimping, to have peace of mind that the phone was sealed properly

First take out Sim and SD card, if they were in their ports
Second, don't use your phone for about one or two days, at all
Third, place your phone in warm places, like near windows to get sunlight or sth like this
Last, if they did not work, go to Sony Service Center in your city or country
If your ports were open while the water went in, I think you should pay more than the closed ports condition
Hi
Newbie here, sorry if this is a repost.
My Sony Z3c has been having issues since it updated to 5.1.1.
As of now, my Z3c does not power up.
I tried the Volume-power button, yellow button, leave the charger overnight with no luck.
My phone is only 6 months old, and the cost to ship it out to the nearest Sony service is ridiculous.
Just want to know how many members has recently experience this and what solutions has been made to restore this issue.
Right now I'm at the edge of giving up this phone....:crying:
Yellow button???
Anyways, You have 6 months warranty left. Please use it. Seems like a board failure. And the only option is going to Sony. Paying for shipping is better than an expired warranty any day. Good luck buddy!
Hi bro,
I had the same problem with my 1 year old z3c (locked BL, custom FW) and tryed everything i knew to make it start - no chance.
After 1 week i got a new z3c from warranty service.
So good luck and patience to wait

Gre Go

My 1 year old Z3C died at sunday. Was taking the dog out and when I returned home after 15mins, the phone had gone dead.
Does not charge, not with USB nor with Magnetic charger.
Yellow button under the SIM-cover did not do anything.
So, I had to take my phone back to the dealer and they sent it to repairshop. I suspect the motherboard died for some reason. I was just about to re-root the phone after losing the roots with the latest patch... heh.
