Guys,I bought a phone(Don't have warranty anymore). After i powered on the device, everything seems normal. Then i unlocked it,and wanted to check menu(You know, discover options),because this is my first android device, and i figured out that 1/4 of touchscreen work, and 3/4 of touch screen not work
When i bought a phone,it was on 9.1.a.1.140,then im updated it to 9.1.a.1.141 via PC Companion(Hope it will fix problems),but touchscreen not fixed with that update. What can i do? Please help me.Thanks in advance.
How i can check if it hardware or software fault or maybe water damaged?
Best regards,DeXteR!

check if there are any cracks or mechanical damage on screen. The most possible scenario is that screen is damaged

hi there
as of yesterday i accidentally dropped a jack splitter (like this one.. (click here) onto my pda2 from 1 meter..
at first i thought everything was okay
but then i realized that the touchscreen was not working.. the buttons are working..
though i hesitated that it'd never work again, after taking my imate apart and after i put it all together it worked for 10 mins.. then it stopped working again.. this morning it did the same, worked then stopped..
so my questions are:
1. can it be something other than the touchscreen? there is a small dent on the screen but the image on my today screen is displayed correctly..
2. if i really have to change the screen where would i buy 1?
i found this one but i want to have more options if there is

thanks...

Touchscreens are replaceable but make sure you buy the correct one, as the screen in Alpine is only one of 2 that could possibly have been fitted in Himalayas i.e a touchscreen for an xda2 is not guarenteed to be compatible with the LCD you have.
Depending on LCM, you could look into a repair of the exisiting digitiser, is the screen marked in any way where the item hit it?
Richard
p.s don't bump so quickly - do your research more thoroughly - you're not the first person to suffer this problem...
yes there is a small dent on the screen
i know i searched the forum but maybe i'm searching with wrong terms.. not much came up.
i don't know any other websites than the pdasmart.....

Then you need a new digitiser, the gap between the touchpanel and glass in the digitiser is reduced where the dent is, so the resistance properties of the digitiser have changed at that point i.e it will think you are always touching that spot. You could remove the plastic overlay, heat it gently and try and bend it back / flatten it but I've tried and never managed to do it
Most places only sell the entire LCD / touchscreen assembly, cheapest I can get for an alpine is about $140 USD for the lot, perhaps check ebay for a unit with a broken LCD?

I was able to find a digitizer for my droid on EBay and found a video online showing the installation procedure. Give it try and see if you can find one there.
before buying the digitizer please make sure it isn't:

Those may sound stupid but give them a try

Can't you give it back to repair it ?
Same issue. At one point I connected the screen upside down by mistake. Could this be the reason for the damage?? And what tools do i need to create a jumper on the fuse??? I found a solution here but I don't know how to do it. Some help would be great.

Guys plz advice on what can be done other than sending it to the repair shop which i am sure will cost a fortune...any other way to fix this problem?? btw i am running Viper & Elemental latest versions...

hi,
i don't think that can be repaired thru software. you need to replace the digitizer on that phone. and unfortunately, the lcd and digitizer is bonded, it's not easy to just replace the digitizer. you can look on ebay the replacement lcd complete with frame and back cover. the only problem you will encounter if you DIY it is the disassembly, you can watch youtube or check ifixit on how to disassemble the phone.

Most likely, but just in case remove the screen protector (if you use one) and test again.
My touch screen is having issues.. In one area about 3/4 down near the bottom across the length the screen is not responsive.. Here is a picture showing where /i62.tinypic.com/2ykn8rd.png (please add the http:/ before the link to check it)
I checked the touch with the service test
Is it a problem with the hardware? Because I haven't dropped it and there aren't any cracks..
Only thing I can think of is that my charger wire is a little frayed and that charge has seeped into the screen.. But is this damage permanent or how can I fix it ?
Any help would be much appreciated.. Thank you
Any help please?

Hi there, I'm sorry I couldn't find any information regarding your problem in the web and the way how to fix it. I'm suggesting you to send your phone to specialized repair center (Sony). Or you just can give a try and reflash the rom you're using, maybe it causes this problem - nobody knows until you try.
Good luck! If you're answering or anything like so, please quote the message that I'd be able to see it.
Hi, if the touch screen previously works without problem, can be an hardware damage of the touch screen panel, as you can see there is only one row that don't works, all you have to do is replace the entire LCD+Digitizer assembly, and the phone will works perfectly
