I opened my new moto x and synced it with my company's exchange environment. One of the policies they test with new phones is a remote wipe. My moto x stopped syncing emails but did nothing else when the wipe was issued, even though it accepted the exchange admin as a device administrator.
Has anyone else seen this behavior? I really don't want to return the phone, but I have to if I can't figure this out.
T-Mobile version, updated to 4.4.

They make you wipe the phone to test that they can do it? That's pretty messed up, in my opinion.
Did you tree removing the exchange account and adding it again? Clear cache/data for the Email app (the yellow icon one). Double check that the device administrator was activated?

Pretty normal, honestly, in a corporate environment. The company pays for the phone and the service, but in exchange they must have the ability to remote wipe it if it is lost and has company info on it (my email).
I did remove it, it won't let me add it again (likely because of the wipe). I might try the cache/data thing though. And yes, it is listed in the administrators. Thank you for answering, though.

I know having the -ability- to wipe is normal. I have used the corporate email policy on my phones in the past (not currently) but I didn't have to do a "test wipe" to erase everything on my phone just to be sure that they could in the future. That seems ridiculous. Hopefully they let you restore everything on company time.

Oh, sorry I wasn't clear. It only applies if it is a new model of phone that has not been tested in the past. This case shows their reasoning, which now that it has failed the test no one with a moto x will be allowed on the server. So if I had a galaxy S4 or something like that I would get on with no testing at all.
There is problems with exchange on 4.4 I believe 4.4.1 has fixed these problems. That is probably why remote wipe isn't working check this thread if you are rooted this fixed my exchange syncing problems I was having http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2531268 Hope that will help you out. If nothing else maybe downgrade to 4.2 till your phone gets a 4.4.2 update (if it gets the update)

Brorex is correct. Although I haven't checked the version I'm using (4.4.2) to see if it it accepts remote wipes, I assume it would. It does fix the sync issues 4.4 was having. The other suggestion would be to use touchdown.

My phone was stolen yesterday evening. They turned it off which of course locked the pin, but if they remove the pin, how much of my phones data is accessible including saved passwords on accounts?
Can someone remove their SIM and see what access the phone grants them to accounts stored on the phone, like email etc?
To the best of my knowledge if they pull the sim card they will not be able to access any of it, and I doubt they stole the phone to get into your gmail. If someone stole it for themselves and are able to get past the pin, they will likely wipe it asap. If someone stole it to sell...the same.
Still to be on the safe side you should change your password with Google and any other accounts that could access your credit card info.
Sorry your phone was stolen, but your secrets should be safe.

Not sure on the I9000 version but i know I can get at all the info with or without a simcard inserted on the Captivate. I would change your passwords ASAP.
Thanks.
I've already gone ahead and changed my gmail password.
Luckily I wiped recently and didn't have many things installed.
I'm terribly depressed about this situation.
My phone, twas a gift.
Thanks for the advice and help.
When I changed SIM in my Galaxy S, phone asked me to re-enter gmail credentials. Unfortunately your data is not encrypted, so the thief can see your SMS, Skype chats and other things (especially if the phone was rooted). Android really sucks in terms of security
There is a tracker and remote wipe built into the security settings of the SGS but it needs to be activated and set up. A little late for you now but maybe for the future or others. BTW it still works even if the sim is changed and you can use the gps (even if switched off) and Google maps to pinpoint it.
my phone was stolen to, well, they did wipe him just before I used my lookout. damn.
but I also advise you to change some passwords.. just incase.

I use lookout as well - luckily haven't really had to use it yet.
There is an app called 'plan b' which you can install over the air from the market on android.Com/market, it allows you to track your phone but if the have cleared of then your most likely out of luck :/ your sd card will be fully accessible... hope you can manage to get it back

Afaik that can be uninstalled rather easily. Anyways, it's not really stealthy.
If you really want a stealthy track, lock, and wipe solution try Theft Aware from the market (7 days free) or google it, can be used without root (but root offers better features). Cheaper than Lookout too as it's a one-time fee.
If they steal my phone I could simply wipe it (installed on /system so it survives the wipe), lock it, trace it, anything by simple SMS commands. So even if I couldn't get it back at least I can wipe all data.
Won't help the OP sadly but for others this may be useful.
In really sorry for this incident mate
First I assume that you've changed your google & any email password u have over your device.
Next thing, I want u to make a call to your carrier so they block ur device via restricting the imei.
I had this question in my mind so I added a thread previously.

Lookout is a free app. Also, it can be run in "hidden" mode, and you can chose to have it run silently, and only be uninstalled via web .
Edit: To mod: If possible, please move this thread to a non device specific subforum, as people with different devices are experiencing the same problem.
So today I decided to factory reset my HTC One, and install back some applications I had previously.
However, after the factory reset I am unable to either install or update any application, with the Google Play Store returning: ""{app}" could not be downloaded due to an error. (403)".
I've been looking around a bit and have seen quite some others with this issue, however no solutions have worked for me. What I've tried:
Logged into Hangouts and confirmed mobile number.
Removed Google account in settings --> Go to Apps>All> and force stop Google Play Store, Google Service Framework and Download Manager, then clear cache and data for each --> Added back Google account --> Restarted device (without launching Google Play Store).
Using a new gmail account.
Clearing Proxy: I've looked in my Wi-Fi and APN Settings, both of which have no proxy set to begin wit.
Using 3G instead of Wi-Fi.
Another factory reset (repeated other steps afterwards).
Installing apps onto my device from my PC (it won't attempt to install them on the phone).
Please note my phone is not rooted and I'm not planning on rooting my phone any time soon.
Thanks in advance,

Yeah I've encountered quite some threads of people having this problem with the HTC One, however their solutions have not worked for me. Hoping someone can bring an answer to this thread
Yea it just seems unusual that it has happened to us pretty much at the same time under the same circumstances, maybe there is some issue with the store rather than our devices, I hope so!
Having exactly the same problem, tried everything. Even got a new handset because of the original issue which caused me to perform the factory reset. Maybe a problem with Google Play?
Hey guys!
I did a factory reset on my LG Swift L9 today
and also can't download any app from Google Play
due to 403. It may not be related to HTC One only.

I've got a new Nexus 5 delivered to me hours ago, first time using it and i can confirm the same sadly, hopefully it will be resolved soon !
What would be the quickest way to alert a mod so that the thread can be moved to a non device specific forum?
Hi all,
Picked up a Nexus 7 today - it was initially loaded with an old build of Android (Blue connectivity bars not white etc) and everything seemed to be working fine. Notification popped up for me to install the latest version, so I stopped what I was doing, got it installed and I'm now stuck with the same 403 errors as everyone else.
Looks to me like a Play Store issue but damn infuriating seeing as I can't even put any basic apps on my shiny new Nexus.
Noticed on another forum earlier that someone was having the same issue, and a guy responded saying he'd returned his Galaxy Tab to the store it came from today (Curry's, I think?) and after the staff there contacted Samsung - they were told that it was an issue with the Play Store. No obvious citations of course, but seems pretty legit what with everything else going on.
And now we wait...

(Not so) sorry for double post.
I just tried again, without making any changes to my phone, and I just downloaded 3 different apps (2 I had previously, 1 new one).
Need a confirmation if the problem is solved for other people (with different devices) before I request a close.

Nope, still 403'ing over here. But I'll keep checking in case it's gradually being fixed.
Still getting errors here too.
403 =/
I'm glad it's not just me.
I tried resetting/clearing everything thinking it was my phone cos I just recently rooted and flashed this brand spanking new HTC One (it was a replacement for my broken HTC One that had a working store :crying, until I went ahead and Googled this annoying error.
Seems like it's a problem on the Google end! =/
Get same error, tried RUU reset and ViperOne ROM.
Still 403 error! Very annoying
Spent 2 hours or so messing installing cyanogen on my new nexus and thought I'd ****ed up. Then googled it. I can believe it, talk about bad timing. lol

I haven't been able to sign into Motorola Connect on my laptop pass couple of days, anyone else having connection issues?
Mine is down too. Seems to be stuck trying to sign back in.
Remove then re-add. This happens to me frequently (including today).
having the same issue here. removing and re-installing has yet to help.
i am stuck on the signing in page and it won't go any further. given that this seems to be effecting many i hope for a fix soon.
Removed extension, re-installed, even deleted chrome profile and made a new one, still won't connect.
Yeah ignore my previous post. I uninstalled and reinstalled twice and it started working again both times for a short period... but then it stopped working again, and I haven't gotten it to work since.
I have been trying it for hours now, no luck. Hopefully it's just down for maintenance, I have gotten very used to it.
i hope that this does not have something to do with moto being sold.
Does motorola lost device service work for you? For me it says to enable motorola In device managers.
Yeah it's not active after three days for me, I just reset the Motorola Connect client on phone and computer.

Hi, I've been having this issue all day after an factory reset and flash of the factory image. I can't log into Google now and keep getting a network error. Doesn't work on wifi, data, I've done a reboot, wiped cache, force stopped Google search. Nothing seems to work. Was chatting with someone on G+ who said he's having the same problem on his G4. Seems to be happening on new device setups and Factory resets? IDK, anyone have this problem? Thanks.

Not sure this is related only to flashing M. I've had this same problem after flashing a couple of 5.1.1 ROMs and tried clearing cache for Google Now as well as rebooting, uninstalling-reinstalling Google Now, etc. what finally worked was I went into google settings and deleted card preferences. I was then able to successfully connect and get Google Now set up with the cards I wanted.

ok... i am live again. i had to revert back to stock 5.0. lol. when i was on stock 5.0 everything worked perfectly, cards, syncing, etc. as soon as i took the ota to 5.1, upon boot, google now cards are borked??? but if anyone else runs into the issue of sign in loop like i did, revert back to 5.0 which was before all the crappy security changes that i dont care about. lol. and then disable the ota notification if you would like to keep google now cards.

OK boys a have a fix. Follow these instructions in this exact order.
1. Flash back to bone stock 5.0
2. Set up phone without signing into google.
3. Open play store, sign in.
4.set up google cards/ they should already be set up. If it ask you to sign in, press skip.
5. Update all apps. You may need to reboot for your apps to show under the "my apps" tab in the play store. I had to.
6. After getting everything up to date. Reboot phone.
7. Press "google" on the search bar on home screen
8. Press get google now cards. Skip the sign in as you should already be signed in.
9. Profit
After updating AW 2.0 to my watch, I am having trouble trying to set up google account on my watch. I have factory resetted the watch a several times, and I have cleared the cache of Android wear and Google service app.

I have the same issue. Did you manage to get a resolution?
or anyone have any ideas.
Running on Android wear 2.0 and Lenovo P2 on 7.0
Can anyone offer any advice on things to check or steps to try.
Basically when i try and add an account on either the initial set up or later, it never finds my Google Account. Just get the loading circle spinning and spinning.
I am pretty sure the problem is actually either the Android Wear app or the Lenovo ROM, as i can connect it fine with my LG G4.
Also have posts on the Lenovo forum and Android wear forum.

I am having the same problem. If you check google product forums, there are more people with various watches and phones having the same problem. I think its something on google's side. I wonder if downgrading to an older version of the wear phone app will work.

I was having this issue until today. I uninstalled the Android Wear app, Wiped Google Play services cache and data, downloaded and installed a Wear APK from february off of apkmirror, installed it, wiped cache and data for the app, reset my watch, and it worked! Rather than sitting at the loading animation forever, I was instantly brought to the copy accounts screen.
I tried going back to an old version, but I didn't go back to Feb. Thanks.

Thanks but no dice. Does this on both wifi and cell data.
solution is create a second google accout on the phone, disconnect and reset the watch, when you re-pair it to the phone both the old and new google accounts should show up, add the account you want and once the set up is complete go to accounts on the phone and delete the account you don't want.......worked for me on Sony z5 and moto 360
I just got the same problem, but found the solutions now. here's what the solutions i found from someone in the internet and it did work on mine. First, Remove your secondary or more google accounts in your mobile phone (make sure there's one left only), you can add it again later. And then you can try again to add account/ copy account from your watch.
The point is, the watch somehow can only copy account if there's only one google account on mobile phone.
Hope this help.

I tried everything and realized it was either downgrade to 1.5 or suck it up. I said forget this and bought a Samsung Gear S3.
Anyway, Google (and I say Google because this has happened across numerous brands on AW2) messed up on this one. I would have stuck with AW but for this, but their response has been totally unacceptable.
