[Q] Developer Edition Global Warranty Service - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Guys ,
Please could you remind me if the Dev Edition came with a global warranty service (GWS)
I'm 99% sure that this was one of the benefits of purchasing this device but now i cannot find this information anywhere on the US site and i'm having issues trying to get a repair in my local country (A$$holes)
I've done a google search and found some blogs about it but nothing concrete ...
can anyone shed some light on this before I start sending formal emails to HTC Support ?
Super thanks in advance

HTC One 64GB UK?

I've seen similar posts but they're quite outdated now, does anyone know if the HTC One 64GB edition is available to buy sim-free in the UK ? I want the HTC One but not the 32GB version and don't want to have to wait for a few months to get one, otherwise I might just end up getting the S4.
Anyone know of any sites or places doing the 64GB?
Cheers
As far as I know, the 64gb models is only avaliable in Asian countries for now. It could be months until it's avaliable for the rest of the world.
The HTC One is only available in Taiwan, I'm not sure anywhere else has it in Asia.
The S4 is only 16gb with 12gb useable. Also that 12gb is all the space available for installing apps and games. The memory card can't be used for apps.
I got the 32gb One and will buy a 64gb when out. But surprisingly I'm managing just fine with the 32gb.

Dear Matt,
Thank you for contacting HTC regarding the HTC One.
My name is Ciprian and I am a Technical Support Agent for the HTC Written Team.
Regarding your question, for the moment we do not have any information regarding the availability of this mode on 64 GB, and you may want to check our website for updates, or subscribe to our newsletter. Also, regarding the Developer edition phone, I wouldn't suggest you to buy it, because these phones aren't built for the public, they are only for developers, and the phone won't have certain features, or it will be optimized for debugging/development, even though if it's unbranded, it will work in the UK.
I appreciate your patience so far, I hope this answers your question, and if you have further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us again.
To let me know I have successfully answered your query, please follow the link below to close your enquiry, you will have the opportunity to leave feedback about your experience contacting me today.

Seems just too good to be true , on the site eonline stores they are selling the htc one 64gb for £402
That seems crazy as the only other UK seller I can find are mobicity are and its £720 (which is a bit steep)
Heres the link :

Submitting apps to China stores

Hi Guys,
As a UK based Android game developer we have recently had a few games released on China Mobile and 189 stores via a publisher/distributor who have a presence in-country.
For our future titles I'm currently investigating the idea of submitting to these Chinese app stores ourselves in order to hopefully bypass the ‘middle man’ so to speak.
Lots of links to the app stores 'developer centres' exist, however it seems I've failed at the first hurdle. During the registration process I am being asked for our Chinese business license number and Tax registration number. I cannot seem to bypass this section or submit our UK business details in order to continue. Either that or I'm being asked to input a Chinese mobile number in order to receive a verification code.
Just wondering if anyone else had any experience of self submitting to these China stores? It seems as though anyone outside of China is not allowed to submit apps? Is that correct?
Thanks in advance
Mark.
Hi Guys,
By the lack of replies it seems this might not be the correct forum for this type of subject
Does anyone know of any other good forums which may be able to help me out.
Thanks again.

Hi there,
You could try this makingmoneywithandroid dot com. They have a very good forum.
Out of curiosity - which distributor did you work with there? We worked with Tencent and the whole experience was / is a bit difficult, to say the least.

Hi Tom, Thanks for the link.
We went with a publisher called Thumbstar, who are based in the UK, who work with a company from China called Viva Red. Currently they are getting us on the state owned stores like China Mobile and China Telecom.
I have heard of Tecent. Aren't they a massive 3rd party app store? So did you apply through their website or did they send you an invite to put your games on their store? Have you had much sales success with them?
M.
I know Thumbstar, they have quite a lot of games for Android in their portfolio. How was your experience with them?
As for Tencent, yes, their are a massive company (games, web, WeChat, etc.). They got in touch with us regarding one of the games we've published. We also had two titles published in China with The9 but it was quite a long time ago and I'm not sure if they are still in the business.

Will send you a PM Tom.
I can give u really advice because i am from china .here in china there are too many store
but ,you can choose some big store just like 360.cn ,91,wandoujia,and myapp.com .you can contact me by [email protected] .i may give u some help .
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
From my own experience it is easy to submit to Wandoujia (Peas Pod), takes about a week for them to approve everything, you need to prove you're the copyright holder of the the app (scan of company certificate) when you submit along with a signed "owner" form from their submission process. Registering is pretty straight forward thanks to Google Translate (for best results install the Google Translate addon into your web browser and/or use Chrome):
http://pmt.wandoujia.com/apps/dev/home
I've only submitted a free app, not sure but suspect things are more complicated with paid apps.
Other Chinese app stores are harder to submit to but usually only because of translation issues or also having to install their apps first and create an account - the apps are always Chinese too.
My app is on many stores in China, but I never uploaded it, they are just distributing a cracked version... :-/
What about Xiaomi? http://app.xiaomi.com/
$10 publish fee for each China app store
I check the website called www.app4chinese.com and they provide service to publish app in China. $10 per store and they list 19 China app stores on their website.
Hi Maineyak,
We actually help developers to promote globally their apps in different stores (not just gPlay) and increase efficiently the number of downloads.
Send us a PM if you need more information or check our website

Very specific advice regarding htc service

You can view my old post here to get an idea of my problem http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one/general/abysmal-htc-service-t2868185
The mod said I have to ask for SPECIFIC advice so here goes :
I have now been BANNED from posting or commenting on HTC Italia on facebook.
Last I spoke to HTC on the phone, I was given a regional manager for italy and malta who invited me not to call him again because he is a busy man,
I have email HTC's international relations at [email protected] at the behest of HTC United States online support, who suggested I email them and that I seek legal action against HTC in italy via a consumer protection agency.
I am trying to pressure HTC to intervene in this issue by posting on their official facebook page (not htc italia, just HTC)
Does anyone have any advice for me ? What should I do ? Should I actually file a claim against HTC Italy ? Or should I wait and see if they cave in from the pressure ?
I am certain that I am legally absolved of all responsibility because HTC chose an uninsured shipping option, therefore the courier did NOT check the integrity of the phone. I have been lied to repeatedly by HTC italy's management therefore speaking to them is not really an option
Help anyone ?

General section
What goes here
Guides, Collections, Tutorials (can also be posted in Q&A)
General information about the device
Tips and Tricks
Every general discussion about technical aspects of device
What does not go here (by far an uncomplete list, just some examples for topics that are not tolerated)
Everything prohibited by above linked forum rules.
"Whis is the best rom for this device", "Is this rom better than that" (always subjective, prone to fanboy wars)
Device comparison threads "Which is better: iphone or this phone" (see above)
"What was your last phone/will be your next phone" (Off-Topic to this phone, post that in OT-Forum)
"Hello"/"Goodbye"/"Merry Christmas,Easter,Hannukkah, whatever" (Obviously OT, just imagine every user posts that)
"I'll never buy HTC again", "Why HTC/Samsung/whoever sucks" and all other "hate"-threads (Tell that those guys, not us)
"Help!", "How do I...", "Why..." and all other Questions (belong in Q&A)

Please next time use the Q&A thread if you want to ask any questions or if you need any advice. -->thread moved I have read your other thread and I understand your frustration but this forum is not the right place to post complaints against HTC, like said in the forum rule quoted above, "tell those guys (HTC), not us". If you are 100% sure of everything you are saying and HTC don't want to help you then go ahead and take the necessary actions (for example, filing a complaint to your local consumer protection agency). Unfortunately, we can't help you with this kind of "legal/warranty/find-the-guilty" issue here. You may want to continue to argue with them, I'm almost sure that if you take "legal actions" to get your phone back and repaired, this will take a very long time.
Hope you'll get your device soon and good luck.

don't you have a way to stop payment on the phone ?
did you pay in cash ? if you used a credit card just refuse the payment and let HTC take it up with them.

When it comes to warranty returns it is your responsability to make sure it get to them the same way you have it and without any proof that it was done by the courier, there is nothing you can do.

Odd. That maybe the way they do it there.
I am really sorry you are going threw this. HTC is normally very good about things like this.
Yeah I honestly just blame the people managing the technical service here, they're just incredibly rude! I'm going to call HTC in Taiwan in an hour and see if I can get this sorted out !
Update: HTC Italy have now admitted to having the responsibility for damaging my device, they told me my device will be fixed under warranty as returned to me 'as new', I'm gonna call HTC Taiwan just to double check that they don't have to send me a new device.
Given the experience I just had, if you ever find yourself in a similar situation my advice is BOMBARD them with complaints and post on their public facebook pages until they take you very seriously

[root/knox] actual situation - works in progress - log post

Hi all, I own a S2 LTE device and I'm going mad to find real informations about rooting and KNOX.
I found lots of stuff to flash over with Odin but I wouldn't be so happy to lose my warranty.
So I kindly ask to someone that knows about it more than me to write it down there so everyone can see and we can discuss about it.
Any help kindly appreciated. If we reach a good quantity of Infos I'll make a post to organise them
Thanks in advance
Hello, in Poland you don't loose warranty automatically by setting KNOX WARRANTY VOID flag and root. Service team has to prove that issue was caused by your changes. I suppose it is the same in others EU countries. I've found an article in which Samsung informs that most devices with root are fixed for free.
I've also found information that value of KNOX flag doesn't matter for warranty service as long as you use official Samsung's ROM. SFMBE

As a noob I not allowed to send URLs in normal way, so please change spaces to dots, here are the article:
