Can anyone help me

Try to enable data roaming. Previously there was also option for "national data roaming", it is not ported yet to cm11.

Hello:
I've done some searching and I cant find the answer, so excuse my post.
I am living in Shanghai, China and I have a 3G sim card with China Unicom (wcdma). I tried using my 3G sim on my Asus P565 and it is able to connect to the 3G network BUT when I put it into my Tmobile G1, my 3G network cannot be accessed (as a matter of fact, i dont think I can even access my 2G data network).
My phone specs are:
black tmobile g1
Latest radio installed
HardSPL
cyanogen 1.4 recovery
tried using cyanogen 4.2.6 rom
tried using TheOfficial AOSP-1.6_r1.4 DRD20 (Donut) v2.3.2
Is this a rom problem? am I skipping something? is 3G even supported on these modded roms?
Please help! Thank you.
This seems to be related to your APN settings.
Check that your APN is defined correctly in your G1 (copy definitions from you Asus P565).

Im not sure what you are talking about. Shouldnt the 3G network be working automatically just like the regular 2G network? At least thats how it works with all other 3G phones.
I dont see how I would need to set up APN. I could be mistaken though...
Did the 3G work before you flashed roms?
It might be a network compatibility issue like AT&T, I don't have 3G either haha.
Quick Google turned these up
APN = uninet
user = guest
pass = guest

I did not try using my 3G sim before flashing. I flashed right after getting the phone.
I tried a couple of APN settings already with no luck, but i am starting to believe that is the root of the problem.
Any other input is appreciated... this problem is really bothering me.
I live in Japan, and use a Softbank SIM card from an iPhone 3G. For the past few months I have been running Cyanogenmod 5.06 with no issue, Yesterday I installed Froyo with this ROM.

Everything works great minus connecting to 3G. In japan 2G is no longer used therefore I cannot even make a phone call.
I have checked and rechecked to make sure I am using the correct APN settings.
Any ideas? Could my carrier be blocking it. May it be a problem with the ROM? I did a sum check before installing.
I really would like to use 2.2 as its much faster and the battery life is at least 2X longer.
Thanks,
Brandon
So apparently there was an issue with my automatic cell phone payment, and once my phone disconnected from the network it was not allowed back on. I payed it, and it now works.
Unable to connect to internet with Froyo on N1
Hello !
I just installed froyo on my nexus and i cannot connect to internet (3g, 2g) anymore.
I have the same settings as in previous 2.1 (i asked operator for apn, user etc.).
Every other mobile device i have works with my sim.
Everybody have this issue ? My Nexus is useless without this....
Thanks
I'm currently traveling outside the us and my phone is always connecting to Fastlink (which is now Zain). My phone wont pick up Zain and I'm having problems with data, it connect once to another works no problem then switch back to Fastlink. I was wondering if there was to enable the network operators to manually change it. or can change the data type? I'm in Jordan.
thx for the help
I am lookikng a way too - neither time, i can't even search for operators...
Hi everyone,
I bought a Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 (16gb) in Singapore and was using it fine on Singtel's network (signed a contract with them). Now I have moved back to Canada and brought my phone with me assuming that all would be ok to use it with the network here. However I'm having big problems with this one network I just signed up with (Virgin Mobile).
85% of the time I cannot connect to it: voice calls and SMSing won't work nor will the data work on it, the only thing it says is "Emergency calls only". Then at other times everything will seem to connect and work fine - I can make calls and use data.
Virgin Mobile will not support me much because they're thinking it's the phone's problem, if I use the phone they gave me (a lower-end model) it works fine.
Here are some details of my phone:
Firmware version
2 2
Baseband version
I9000DXJPA
Kernel version
2 6 32 9
root (at) SE-S604 #1
Build number
FROYO DXJPA
If I check out the status, it usually says this:
Network
Unknown (switches to VIRGIN when it does work)
Mobile network type
UMTS (switches between that and HSDPA and GPRS)
Service state
Out of service
Mobile network state
Disconnected (switches to connected when working, and even when it's not working sometimes)
I have Network mode set to auto mode (GSM/WCDMA). I've tried to switch it to GSM only but that didn't seem to change anything.
I'm wondering if there's some kind of configuration settings I still need to do with the phone? I'm also wondering if it is the network I'm with right now? Virgin Mobile isn't one of the bigger telcom companies here and I'm thinking that if I switch to one of the bigger telcoms, will it work better?
Something else to add - before I signed up with Virgin I was using my phone with a pre-paid service (called Chatr) for voice only and it was working fine.
I'm sure this phone can support the GSM frequencies here.. can't it?
I also still have the Singtel customizations on the phone. Will it help if I remove it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks a lot!
Ryan
You can always try flashing a different MODEM (Radio) .. And you might as well upgrade to a 2.2.1 firmware, if not GB.
hmm.. do you know where I can learn how to flash my phone to a different (and more appropriate!) modem? also where to find an update to the firmware?

Just search in these forums. It's all there. You can easily flash a new radio package using ODIN. Better yet, try one of the custom ROMs from the I9000 Android Development section.
Hello guys, I've got a problem....I was on Lollipop 5.1.1 and everything was working perfect...from the time I updated to 6.0.1 the 3G icon remains enabled even though my traffic data is disabled! Tried rebooting, restoring with Xperia Companion and using a different SIM card but nothing seems to work...Give me some help if you guys know what I must do
You can disable 3G, by going into Mobile Networks in Settings and changing it to HSPA/LTE/GSM Preferred to GSM Only
