Akshay00smart, I'm not sure about the glass part but you can buy a replacement back piece that I think includes the camera glass.
http://stellatech.com/site_stellatech/articles.php?cid=1095
The item number is GH98-16686A,R price is €10.87
I would send the company an email and ask to make sure.
Your kind of answer is indeed much better.
Man...relax

I do have an issue with the scratched camera glass. However, changing the cover won't solve it since the cover doesn't include the glass.
OK,
Here are two possible parts from one website.
https://www.globaldirectparts.com/U...alaxy-S-i9000-Back-Housing-p/smsng6087205.htm
http://www.globaldirectparts.com/Samsung-S-i9000-Camera-Lens-p/smsng6087120.htm
The problem is that the site doesn't sell to individuals, they do wholesale only.
Hope some can point to the right place.
Cheers.

i think a service cetre would replace the glass relatively cheaply and it is something you could ask for a price on over the phone, and they would probably fix while you wait or at most within 1 or 2 days

Yep, internal back cover does include the glass. However, the above first photo includes only the external back cover which doesn't include the glass.
i know this reply will not benefit the op but just want to keep this on record for someone else who might stuble here from google,
today i removed my old 5230's frame and tried to replace it with i9000's (it was of the same size) but when i tore the piece down, i came to know that the "frame" was attachedc to the body, like this
(the silver covering cane be removed) m talking about the "scratched part".. so no way to remove i shattered it to pieces and kept my old frame on the camera and tried to assemble the device, it dint assemble properly, and thus has a slight opening at the top right side(above the power button)... other things are working fine, the camera is no longer blurry (although i still need to test it in sunlight, will do it tommmo and report back) .. so in short , dont do it unless necessary, replace it with another back body, it'l save your hassle ...

Hello guys,
I'm from Brazil and here we still don't have the new Xperia Z, but I bought one in Europe and now I have a problem.
I really don't know how, but the glass on the back is cracked. It's on the inferior left corner.
The problem is that now I'm not able to use it without looking this crack.
Is there any place that has this glass??? I don't think it's easy to change it because it's waterproof, so I guess it's not that easy.
Sorry for my bad english, but I really need help of you guys.
Thank you

It's easy to change, the back part is just glued to the front part, there was a video that showed that you can remove the back part just by heating up the back part.
But I don't know where you can buy spare parts I think it will be expensive though.
Here is the disassemble video:

Here is a site where you can buy spare parts (Found in the description link of the video)

I don't hope it was because of some heat source from the phone itself. That would mean trouble for all of us.

He might not, but I can imagine that it's annoying when you know that there is a crack on the back.
Same as when you do a test to see if there are dead pixels, you see some, but you only see them when you do the test, many people might be annoyed by the fact that there are dead pixels.

between you and me.
Glass of the phone is "piece of s_h_i_t". Annoying and "unlimited" finger prints makes this phone looks like $200 Chinese copy.
Plus another problem with screen cracks like on Nexus 4.
Great job keep it up :silly:
Another Broken Class
Yes same here, my back glass cracked...... Its was in my pocket then I pulled my phone out and put it on a leather couch, within seconds I heard a "Tick" I picked up my phone and the glass had cracked.
Hot in the pocket and cold leather couch made this glass crack. also happened to my wifes phone 20mins ago when she put it on the kitchen bench.... that's what made me write this to this thread.
Massive fault with this phone. Totally ruined the IP rating now which was the reason why I brought this phone. And there is no where selling replacements of glass yet.

same issue is with i hav given my phone in service center they are annoying that it was a physical damage but after request they accepted the phone said that there is no scracth and pressure on it we send this phone to there head office in the research team in manufacturing plant they will check the phone heather it was external damage or itself hell this time sony customer service is very poor in the custumers service apple and samsung are vry good aplle was best in case of customer service i left my phone on charging overnight more than 9 hours dont knon when the glass is broken when i wake up and remove my phone the back glas is broken a hair line type crack is there from top to bottom edge to edge it was not noticable but it was broken hell this time with the sony poor customer service even the service center talk rudly what can we do the its not tough as steel sony was clamig that it was the toughest phone in the market and all ....
This could be a serious problem that could affect all devices, I always charge the phone at night, stays that way like 7-10 hours, I didn't thought that it could crack when the temperature varies. Not cool SONY!
Wow, this topic got me worried a lot.
After having a look at this video I tought it would be strong:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=o3yMw2L3tJA
As that guy sure is smacking the phone all over the place without any damage left to the phone.
I think your problem must have something to do with heat when charging.
But that should not be a problem as this phone is also "snow proof".
Taking it from the snow to inside should make it crack aswell then?
Sure hope you guys get your phones fixed soon.
Kind regards, Stefan.
I noticed a weird thing yesterday: the upper left corner of my back glass plate stuck out a bit. I only noticed because the other corner felt flush with a screen protector on while the other felt a bit rough. A close look confirmed that the corner is lifted up by a fraction of a millimeter, pretty much as thick as my screen protector is. When I push on it, it goes back and lifts up again over perhaps an hour or so.
What should I do? I have a feeling that this might compromise the watertightness of the phone, so I'm thinking about sending it in. On the other hand, I've had pretty negative experiences with O2 customer support, so I'm scared that they might send me a letter stating that this is due to drop damage and therefore my fault, so I need to pay 40 Euros just to have it sent back without repairs - and if I don't, they'll destroy the phone. It sounds incredible, but this is just what happened to me a couple of years ago. And if they just state it's due to drop damage, it's essentially impossible for you to prove that it isn't.
Has anybody had the same problem? Is anybody else suffering from it now?

Really? Will you send your phone just because of that? A phone is not a toy, don't put it under the shower/water and you will be fine.

I'm at work now, but I'll make a picture later. I hope my camera is good enough to capture it... it's really just a fraction of a millimeter now, but I'm worried that this may just be the start and that the whole backplate may come off at some point. This has NOT always been the case, it just started yesterday.

Are you serious? I'm talking about an integral part of the phone's outer shell coming loose, and you're telling me it's not a toy? It really is no toy, which is why I'd expect the backplate to be firmly laminated in all places as opposed to coming unstuck after a month or two of normal use. To make things better, this phone is rated IP55/IP57. Are you saying I'm wrong to expect a IP-rated product to actually live up to its rating?
I should clarify that my issue is not that one corner is a bit further out than the others - that would just be manufacturing tolerance if it was like that all the time. My issue is that one of the corners is loose. It's sticking out a bit, but it'll go back in when pushed. It'll just come out again after a while. To me, this suggests that the glue or whatever holds the back plate has failed on one corner. That's a flaw that could potentially make an IP-rated phone lose its ability to withstand water ingress. Ingress protection is why I bought it. Damn right it's not a toy, it's high tech. That's why I'm expecting a bit of structural integrity from it.

I *don't* have it that clear. I was asking whether other people have experience with the same problem, to see whether maybe somebody has an actual insight as to what's actually going on, confirming or dispelling my suspicion that the backplate is in fact coming loose.
Is it impossible to have a conversation about a mobile phone that goes beyond pure praise without somebody getting overly defensive? I like this phone and wouldn't like to have any other, but that doesn't mean I can't have any criticism, especially when it appears to me that I may have a faulty unit.

What I mean is if it's loose it's loose. What do you expect to hear? Nah it's fine I put mine under the water even if I know there is a risk to **** my phone and waste £500. I don't think people are going to take that risk just to test it, and even if they did that, it doesn't mean that your unit has exactly the same issue.
If people has had this issue you can actually use the search button to find out what happened. But most likely people will just get a replacement unit.
Also by the looks of it, there isn't much you can do about it.

I was hoping to perhaps hear from somebody who actually KNOWS what's going on.
I did use the search function, no dice, at least not for this phone. There's a Sony support thread here but the Sony guy just says to send it in, at which point the repair center will decide whether or not it's under warranty. I was hoping perhaps somebody already did the same thing and could tell me whether it is covered? Because I feel that they could just look at it, say "nope, unless you can prove that you never dropped it (which you can't), we'll just conclude that you dropped it and it's therefore out of warranty. That'll be €150 for a fix or €50 just so we send it back to you." -- because, as I said in the OP, I've encountered that sort of tactic before.
I do not have the same problem, but my front glass is broken. The glass have broken itself, unfortunately

There you go, simple search:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2256848
Well, if you actually dropped your phone, they will be marks of it. I don't think dropping your phone makes the glue less sticky anyway. It would rather crack the screen. At the end of the day you will be taking a risk when you send it. But I think it's just a manufacturing issue. You can always try to re-glue it yourself. Check the video on the other post.
Since my frame is bent and my back glass is broken I really have to replace them as the dust got between back glass and the camera rendering camera with flash useless.
I'm thinking about replacing it myself, but I'm worried if it's still going to be waterproof after I replace it.
Have any of you guys replaced the back glass by yourself? How's the waterproofness after you did that?
Water resistence will be gone for sure and back glass wont stick for long.time to time you have to push it back.
Sent from my C6603 using XDA Free mobile app
I'm talking about replacing it. Both bent frame and back glass. Have you done this?
No, they will keep the water-proof capablility of the phone. First they will replace the back, remove all the old glue and rubber gasket then replace all with new glue, etc...then use high compression machine press the back cover tight to the glue. Atleast that is the process of replace back cover in my local Sony center, not sure it's applied to all....And after repair they will allow you to put the phone into water to test...
FFS
My adhesive on the back just completely stopped holding the back glass. I can take it out by shaking the device a bit or even by picking it up. I'll be sending it for the repairs...
No more Z1 development, really.

Yeah. The worst thing is that I have to ship the phone on my own. I mean wrapping, talking with DHL and stuff like that to get it to authorised sony service ... -_-
Good thing is that although I'll pay a lot for the replacement of the frame and the back it will be waterproof again.
I'll send it in this weekend or at the begging of the next week.
If anyone would be interested in the state of my Z1 then here's what's wrong with it:
USB flap fell off again.
Back glass is broken
Main frame is bent
Middle frame is cracked
To fix it I'd have to buy:
Glue for middle frame, main frame
Back glass
USB flap
Middle frame
I'll propably fix it myself becaus the cost of doing this in the service would be propably as high as a new Z1. Too bad I'm not rich so I can't buy those parts yet.
If anyone is interested then I finally made pictures of my phone. At least the screen and the electronic hardware is allright.

I only had Xperia Play apart from Z1, flashed xperia S just few days ago, lol ^^
I didn't test it myself, but if you buy a genuine back glass assembly (that includes glue, you can buy this from, for example www.witrigs.com) and replace it properly, wait a week or so for the glue to align and stick properly it should still be waterproof. I did replace almost every part of my Z1, that is camera, back microphone, back glass - 2 times, minijack with proximity sensor, battery, main frame with all the buttons and flaps, speaker mesh and propably something else I don't really remember anymore. It doesn't matter anyway, what matters here is that if you replace middle frame - take close attention to the speaker mesh hole - the one from a phone has some sort of a gasket there, whereas the replacement one - doesn't and you can't really buy it separately. I bought the middle frame assembly from witrigs and it was also missing that gasket. Also, speaker mesh from witrigs is different from the one that was in the phone. These parts render my phone not waterproof anymore and I don't think you can buy replacements for it that would still make the phone waterproof, even if replaced with surgically perfect precision.
TL;DR
Back glass assembly (complete genuine replacement part with glue, nfc, camera etc. already on it) replacement, if done properly, may not cause your phone to lose it's waterproofness. At least from my experience.
Replacing main frame and speaker mesh, even new genuine will void it. Not because there were some mistakes in replacing them, they simply don't have all of the elements that the parts originally shipped with a new phone have. Replacing them will definitely remove its waterproofness. (with all parts from witrigs.com, that is very trusted to ship genuine, new replacement parts.
Just posting this so people googling around could find the answer.

Hi All,
Has anyone been able to track down somewhere that is selling a replacement back for the Mix? Mine is scratched quite heavily (likely from using a fairly tight sleeve) and I would really like to replace it....Or for any poor soul out there who has damaged their Mix and would like to sell the back. The irony is the sides of the phone are pristine and not a scratch, not so much on the back.
Thanks in advance

You are wrong. It is made in China.Enough said.Looks good but who cares about quailty. It is NOT CERAMIC but made to looks like it.
I had it and my suggestion is save money for Galaxy S8+ or something more valuable.
I had to take the pictures with my Galaxy tablet so not the best quality but you get the picture. This is with normal day to day use as well, nothing extreme. I even had the Best Buy film on the back for a few months but got tired of the sharp edges from the film every time i unlocked with the finger print sensor. I am wondering if the chemicals from the glue combined with peeling of the film stripped some of the finish somehow as this is supposed to be so scratch resistant. Maybe just one with a faulty finish.

So the YouTube video is fake or is it your phone, it's been tested against scratches with a hardness of 7, second to none, don't get it. Not one other person complaining I dropped mine when it slipped off a table on it's own while i was in another room,, expecting the worse but not even a mark.

Sorry, I am not sure what your point is. I am certainly not making it up as per the pictures. I was only asking if anyone had seen the replacement backs anywhere. I absolutely love his phone but have been disappointed how much is has scratched on the back, not questioning the online videos etc.
By the way, what was the purpose of your post? If you have nothing to contribute to solving the question at hand why say anything?

Suppose my point was because of shortage of the ceramic maybe they sent some out with different materials.
Mine is just fine after a while of use, both in and out of a protective case, side note mine also doesn't have the "cottage" cheese looking blemishes yours seems to have in the pictures. Its possible to have received a "repaired" one instead of a legit one ... especially if it came from a reseller. There are mentions of this on the xiaomi reddit and other places. its extremely scratch resistant, as much so as any Samsung or other device out there that I have dealt with [and I do service work on phones so I have seen plenty of damaged devices - HUGE number of sub standard Samsung's btw - for the value guy ]
Good luck on finding a part supplier, you MAY find one on Aliexpress ... but there more than likely not going to be genuine parts. Vopmart.com
Thanks to everyone for their feedback. I hope I didnt get a refurb etc, that would suck.

It's not the point of this discussion but I also have tiny scratches beside the lenses and fingerprint...
It's not unscratchable...
