Seems like a great idea to me. I have / love Sprint presently, have had Tmobile in the past and they are my second favorite carrier.
I read that TMobile may go down next year

I've always thought Verizon would swallow Sprint, but I think they wouldn't allow it because Verizon would become a freakin giant.
While I love Tmobile + Sprint, I wonder if it would be the straw that breaks the Camel's back at Sprint. We all know how the Sprint + Nextel thing went... And I doubt Deutsche Telekom would really want to divest... But it does seem that Sprint and Tmobile are in a bad position. I dunno, should be interesting.

If you check the headlines they have been bleeding badly. T-mobile I haven't heard much about though.
sent from my telepathic neurotransmitter.
Would that be possible considering -Mobile is GSM and Sprint CDMA?
Nextel used IDEN, neither GSM OR CDMA. So my answer would be, it wouldn't matter.
(I'm from the UK, so not much real input.. but...)
Much the same as what is happening/happened with the OrangeUK and T-Mobile UK Merger here to make one big parent company, although they are operating still as 2 brands of the parent. Should be fine.
I want an HD7 and wondered if any XDA-member could purchase one from o2 and i would pay them through PayPal and they could ship me the phone. I am in the US and on AT&T
Why don't you just go down to Walmart? They have them there already. Besides you'r on ATT and will get no 3g I thought with one from O2? I believe you need one from Telstra (Australian) network and your 3g will work.

I see the rebel sim cards are being developed for wp7 so perhaps 3g is still in the game if i get a tmobile version. I s being on edge versus 3g really that big of a difference anyway?
oh yeah, it's like swimming in tar lol (edge).
Isn't the phone Quad Band? Surely the device will work on all of the GSM networks?
I hope it's that or it's going to be quite a mission finding the right device to work on the right networks int the right countries.
in the u.s., the only 2 big gsm carriers (at$t, t-mo) operate on different bands. the rest of the world is ok lol, the telstra(sp) operates on at$t w/ 3g, any one else on t-mo gets edge.

Ah, ok
So would the T-Mobile HD7 work on standard GSM bands (900MHz and 1800MHz for South Africa)?
So with HTC's disappointing line-up for the first half of 2011 I decided to take a visit to HTCs World site. I looked at the specs of the new phones and noticed that under Network the bands listed are Europe/Asia - HSPA: 900/AWS/2100 MHz. Does this mean that I could finally buy an unlocked HTC phone and have my US T-mobile 3G aswell? The Flyer has the same Network specs. Out of the 5 new phones that HTC announced the Flyer and Incredible S only have those specs. The Chacha, salsa, and wildfire S, each have the standard 900/2100mhz band for HSPA Europe/Asia.
http://www.htc.com/www/product/incredibles/specification.html
http://www.htc.com/www/product/flyer/specification.html
Can someone confirm my suspicions? If so I can't wait to see what the fall lineup has in-store. Perhaps a dual core phone. I hate the line up US carriers offer.
I belive that you need 1700/2100 Mhz for T-Mobile 3G

Yes 1700 but is that not AWS. If I'm not mistaken AWS is the 1700/2100 spectrum. So since AWS is stated in the specs for the tablet and phone it should work in the US on T-mobiles 3G correct? I've been waiting for htc to release phones in Europe with US 3G for T-mobile forever. I wish my TD2 had had US 3G. The power switch broke sadly and I bought a used Nexus one and T-mobile made me pay the higher rate for data. With an unlocked phone I can sneak by on the lower unlimited rate.
This is a good news for T-Mobile and Wind users as it supports AWS 3G.
Supposedly it is going to be sold by best buy in the US.. So unless that rumor was false it makes sense to have some flavor US 3G network support and TMo makes more sense (ha no pun intended) than ATT. So AWS on the specs must be true.
Unless all these little clues are an inaccurate vast coincidence.

I guess this was wrong then. Not to mention that the incredible s listing at carphone warehouse says "only at carphone warehouse" which would suggest that it is not anywhere else in the uk although they own a stake in carphone warehouse.

I don't care who sells the phone as long as it really does work with T-mobiles AWS bands in the US. If it's true I can't wait to see the Fall lineup of phones. If anything with a dual core comes out and looks nice I will be ordering it from clove.co.uk or somewhere else it they can beat cloves price.
The ROM is set up for Verizon, plus the original Incredible was with big red so I doubt they would switch carriers with the Incredible name.

You couldn't be any mote wrong. The original is not a US phone and is GSM based. So it makes sense t-mobile could get it. T-mobile UK has it and so do other GSM carriers in the world. Go to HTC.com/www and check it out for ur self. The tech is GSM. You need to learn a bit more about world carriers and phones and ditch big red. GSM is what the world uses. Don't be surprised when Big Red starts to use sim cards.

Is this Incredible S gonna launch on T-Mobile USA?
UK retailers and mobile providers are already accepting preorders.
I'm not sure if T-Mobile USA will get this because it is already being launched elsewhere. Are they gonna launch this phone late?
Verizon already had it in the US (not S). And I don't see any leaked T-Mobile roadmaps hinting an HTC Incredible S launch.
What do you guys think?
Wish it'll be released by BestBuy in states and canada like NS.

If it does it will be like any other phone that hits Europe and Asia first. US carriers will get it 6-12 months later. So if it does come here it will be later on. The thing I'm concerned about is having it work with Tmo US 3G if I buy it unlocked from Europe since it has the AWS bands. I Love buying unlocked phones because some of them we never see here in the states.

I'm sure it wont be long before we see some reviews coming in to verify its AWSness.
One thing is for sure.. I'm not going to pay 499 euros (690 USD!!) for it.. plus shipping.. I'll be waiting for it to pop up stateside for around 500 USD I would hope...

When it gets here the price unlocked will drop to about that. That's how long it will take for it to get here. It will be that old. Most I am willing to pa for an unlocked phone they don't sell in the states is $550. Sadly I would rather use that money for a radiator to help keep my car cool with all it's new found power.
I'm sure there will be at least two different models, a European model without AWS and a T-mobile US version with AWS. Just like the HD2. The T-mobile US one will be carrier locked too. You know I'm right.

The only version that has been announced is the European/Asian one and it has AWS so this one could also be sold by T-Mobile USA.
However the question would be why bother when they already have the recently released 3.8" myTouch 4G with 4GB of storage, the same CPU and GPU, etc, etc. While the Incredible S seems to be better all round, with the exception of available storage, there hardly seems to be any point in adding such a similar phone to the T-Mobile USA line-up, especially when the myTouch 3G was made specially for them.
They will probably wait until October later this year to introduce a new variant of this phone and some dual core HTC phones.

Got mine for £370 on eBay from Hong Kong, including shipping. Did see it cheaper elsewhere but chose a shop with a decent reputation. Would always rather pay a bit more than risk getting burned. Although if you buy with a credit card you should be protected from scams anyway.

does your version of the Inc S support the 850/1900 (At&T) 3G in the US? the only one i've seen that does is the Canadian (BELL) version.
EDIT: Just read your post in another forum; your version supports T-Mobile 3G? Correct? Thanks!

It uses HSPA yes, not HSPA+ that I'm aware of, My wife's G2 is HSPA+ and I consistently throughout the day have slightly faster speeds than her G2 according to speed test. Bear in mind, im also using it with the $5.00 unlimited web2go, being an import T-mo doesn't know the IMEI and can't distinguish it from a dumbphone.
Anyone else find this phone $450-500?
I am looking for a replacement for my aging Nexus One.
I am hoping prices will decrease on Ebay since Verizon is releasing a similar dual CDMA/GSM model; Incredible II

you have to get the model S710E for it to work on Tmobile 3G.
i am also waiting to buy this phone, and thinking if the release of the Incredible 2 gsm+cdma will alter the pricing of this phone.
One question i have is, would it be better to buy the unlocked unbranded S710e over an unlocked droid incredible 2 (pretty sure both have 3G 2100 bands i need).

All prices on ebay from a trustworthy sellers are atleast $530. Also on Handtec.UK the price is above $550 and Clove is the same. As i live in the middle east, i need a place that ships worldwide and accepts paypal
Should i just wait for the sensation to come out and maybe the price will drop?

Who said the price of the sensation is $500, are you kidding me, it's 599 pounds in the UK, that's about nearly a grand in dollars, I aint saying its gonna be a grand here, but its not gonna be selling for $500. I highly doubt you gonna see the sensation for $500 here in the US, show me the proof!
I have no proof, but thats what ppl say on the sensation forum, that non subsidized price is going to be $499 and subsidized is going to be $199
Portuguese Fnac (www.fnac.pt) will have in the next 2 days for 550,00 EUR but the funny thing is that you could get a Desire HD for 500,00 EUR...what would you do ?
Hi all,
I'm about 90% sure that I'm going to buy the 64gb dev. HTC One. I'm still on Sprint but I think I'm done with them as they have seriously lost my confidence.
I don't have any experience with an unlocked phone that require a sim card and I'm kind of intimidated by that but I want to learn and see what kind of experience I have with an unlocked phone. I don't know how the whole sim card thing works and how it relates to Tmobile or At&t services, radio frequencies, 4glte, hspa+ etc.
I'm thinking of buying 2. One (no pun intended) for me and one for the wife. I guess my question is how do I make the transition from Sprint to Tmobile as quickly as and painless as possible. How do i explain an unlocked phone to my wife who also never been on another carrier other than sprint? What plan should I consider on Tmobile and or At&t. Which carrier's network is faster (I'm in Central NJ).
I understand the dev version has an unlocked bootloader. Does this mean it comes installed with a recovery and is it s-off / s-on?
I'm not a geek but I know how to flash roms/ kernels...basic sh*t you know.
If anyone can school me on what to expect form an unlocked phone and what I can do with it would be great. Will I be able to use sim cards from both tmobile and at&t on this phone?
Any help would be appreciated...
IIRC the Dev unit does not work on Sprint so you'd need to switch regardless.
You'll just have to get a new account and have them port the numbers over but you just won't be buying a phone on contract.
Most think it will have S-ON, but bootloader unlocked. This just means you can load ROMs, but they are locked to the kernel from HTC (not just any kernel which would be nice if you had S-OFF).
Yes, you can use a SIM from ATT and T-MO but remember that with T-MO unless you live in a new LTE zone or a refarmed 1900mhz HSPA+ band, you will be stuck with 2G speed.

no problem, glad I could help
just go to T-MO or ATT store and tell them you have your own phone and simply want x-plan (whatever it is you're looking for)
obviously T-MO is nice for pre-paid, no contract, but unless you live in a new 1900mhz zone (or LTE) and the phone could possibly be flashed with t-mo's firmware (possibly opening up 1700) then stick with ATT

How close? If you're decently close to two towers you should be fine. To port your number from Sprint you will need to check four things,
1: Your account number. (Dial *2 for Sprint customer service from your Sprint phone for that)
2: Your account pin. (6-10 numbers)
3: If you have any time left on your Sprint contract. Keep in mind you most likely signed a 24 month contract, but upgrades roll around every 20 months. So even if you're elegible for upgrade there may still a early term fee from Sprint.
4 Basic information such as the main account holders name, billing address, etc.
Keep in mind that at the moment the 32 and 64gb versions are out of stock from HTC (for now) If you start up a new account on T-Mobile with unlocked devices you will be on what's called Month to Month pricing. This means that since you provided your own equipment, you will be able to cancel at any time with no termination fee. You will also have upgrades avalible from the get go since you didn't purchase subsidised equipment from them.
Good luck!

Fantastic! I don't think anyone has been able to get s-off this early, and if so it'd require access to a PC to use fastboot commands. Once more developers get their hands on one, it'll (hopefully) be a somewhat painless process. As far as updates go it will most likely be in the same boat as the carrier versions. One more reason having the a rooted dev version would be the bomb.com.
