Voicemail Notification Problem
I finally got up the nerve to try a new ROM on my HTC Hero (CDMA) and installed the latest stable version of CM7 using the Rom Manger app. Everything worked great; however, anytime I reboot or power off/on I recieve a voicemail notification...but there is no voicemail. Is there a way to correct this?
Thanks to all who do this type of work. As a noob, I was very nervous about rooting and updating to a new ROM but this forum helped me overcome my fear.

Is the message from 9016? If so, try blacklisting that number (nearly every sms app but the stock lets you do this) to see if you get voicemail notifications without the sms.
No, the blocking of 9016 doesn't fix it. It just says that there is a voicemail (2 actually) waiting for you and when you call it is nothing. So, it's just kind of lying to you.
Hi all, I'm currently on a GS3 with Verizon and Google Voice integration works well, I. E. Receive calls from GV number as well as using GV for voicemail and transcription (instead of Verizon voicemail).
Are there any gotchas or differences to be aware of in setting up GV with Moto X on AT&T? Or with any phone on AT&T for that matter?
Thanks!

Not really but I would just disable visual voicemail which is preinstalled. Other than that it's no different
No problem for me either. Indeed, you might want to disable/remove/uncheck all AT&T preloaded apps.
Oddly, I see to be having issues with getting Voice to work on my phone. It's not picking up at all as the default voicemail. I've tried uninstalling it and going through the setup again - and the phone still shows that Voice is the voicemail - but the phone will ring forever unless I manually reject the call. Anyone else experiencing this?

Do you have it properly forwarding the call to your google voice number? That needs to be edited in the phone settings.

Yeah, in the phone settings it lists google voice as the voicemail provider.
Just wanted to update - my issue was that when I swapped to this phone, AT&T forgot to enable voicemail to it. So now it's working again.

I had the same issue. I just got off the phone with customer service and they had to put the vm soc back on my account.
Wonder how many other people have the same issue and haven't realized it yet?

Google voice works just fine on my moto x also.
But after 2 years of using google voice; Im finally getting rid of it. Im tired of the MMS headaches. Tired of waiting for google to find a solution.
This may or may not help anyone. But Google voice on all my phones and my nexus 4 worked great for years. Recently my ATT accountgot hhacked and my entire account had to be re provisioned. This defaulted to the newer voicemail service and Googlevoice no longer can register. So instead iI just set all forwarding to my Google voice number and it functions the same way.
Supposedly getting ATT to put me back on the old style voicemail is a difficult task to convincethe reps to do. Take ffor what its worth. This is my nexus 4 too and Google voice just can't register as voicemail for some reason.
Hi guys. Been having issues receiving calls lately. The phone doesn't ring and the caller says it goes straight to voicemail. I read through some support forums on Verizon's website and it looked like other people were having the same issue. Verizon suggested making sure Advanced Calling was on. However, it DOES work for me when Advanced Calling is OFF. Has anyone experienced this? It's pretty frustrating. I'm on Computerfreek's 1.5 build. Thanks in advance.

I too have been having this issue; it does not occur consistently but every few days I am told by people trying to contact me that their calls are going straight to voicemail. I do have Advanced Calling on but I noticed the last time it happened (last Friday afternoon 10-23 at my office where I always have service) that when I made a phone call, I could not access data / internet simultaneously also. After a reboot, everything was back to normal though; I too am on Computerfreek's 1.5B Pon-3 Base w. IOS Emoji build.
met the same issue in China, everyday received several SMS says somebody called you but not answered...
Are either of you using Google voice as your voicemail by any chance?

I use Google Voice strictly for voicemail (no calling), but I do not have the app installed on my phone. I just receive vm notifications via gmail.
I ask because after this issue I went back to using Verizon voicemail and everything is working as expected.

Yeah, I have used google voice since its inception on other phones but have been having issues with it since advanced calling was added to this phone; at first with kitkat, I would get calls and see if I missed calls, but if someone left me a voicemail, I would not receive it. On rooted lollipop roms, I have tried using GV with and without the app installed but it never seems to work perfectly. On a positive note, I haven't noticed the issue occurring since the last time I posted about it but I will most likely make the switch to vzw if it does.
I'm not getting any text notifications from T-Mobile phones. I'm using an unlocked, from Samsung, note 8 with a T-Mobile sim card. Verizon and AT&T done through just fine but not T-Mobile. I get the message but no text sound or preview pop up.

It seems that there is a general issue with notifications. I'm also using T-Mobile and a week ago I was not getting any notifications from facebook (the badge counter showed it but no sound/vibration/preview popup). It just started working again after some days :\
This happened to me a few days ago. Easy fix for me, went to app notification settings & found notifications disabled for the Messages app. I'm not sure how it got turned off, I know for a fact I did not turn it off.
I’m slow...
Are you all talking about texting/SMS or application notifications?
If the former, im on T-Mobile and Ive been on a couple of group texts the last couple days with people from T-Mobile att, vzw. No delays or issues, and there majority of the udsers have been iPhone contributors.
I don’t use crackbook (facebook) so cant speak on that, but overall I’ve not noticed *NOT* getting notifications from apps that i give permission to alert me.
I'm using the stock messages app and I've checked if the it had notifications turned off, it wad on. I know it's not an iPhone issue as my wife has a Samsung phone and my mother has an LG. Its only an issue worth text notifications from T-Mobile users.

I just installed a third party sms app and it's working like it should. I went back to the stock sms app and still nothing. Again, it's only T-Mobile contacts that aren't showing notifications. It makes no sense.

That is strange. I wonder if it has something to do with tmobile users that are using the advanced messaging system or the share typing indications feature. By default advanced messaging is on, I think the only way to turn it off is to turn off volte or something like that.
Not the same setup as you but I have an international unbranded N8 using a tmobile SIM & texts from tmobile users work fine for me.

I read something similar about the N8 but couldn't find the link.

Has anyone had issues with receiving SMS messages? Happens randomly where I won't receive messages from different people etc. I came from a nexus s6 so it isn't the iMessage issue. I've tried searching for reasons or solutions, factory reset the phone, called the carrier to see if settings were wrong. But no one has an answer.
Any help or if anyone experiencing the same thing would be helpful.
I have issues with getting the notifications for text messaging but only for TMobile lines. I still get the message but the phone refuses to light up, make any sound or vibrate when they come in.
Again it's only with T-Mobile numbers, all other texts work like normal
