Did you look even once through the Original Android Development forum?
We've got CM11, SlimKat, Beanstalk and AOKP.
I know that at least in CM11 and SlimKat everything works, even though you
have to disable HW Overlays for some things.
But you could have easily found that by yourself in a few minutes.

Ahh sorry i'm kinda new to this...
Whats HW overlays?

I recommend just reading the appropriate threads in the Orig. Dev. Section.
Anyway, I don't know too much about that myself, all I know is that it needs
to be disabled for stuff like VLC to work.

In terms of an actual ROM made by Sony, then No we're only on 4.3.
In terms of AOSP and the like then yea there are a few as some users have already mentioned, 4.4 from Sony should be out soon I would say, there are phones that have it on there which are in development so i can see a leak on it's way quite soon.

In February we should get the new FW for Z1 so maybe it comes with 4.4. I wish that but is like waiting for Santa Claus.

4.3 needs a bit of tweaking to be honest, i've noticed my phone gets warmer and it dies quicker when compared to 4.2.2. 4.4 has been rock solid at least on my HTC One, so hopefully the Z1 will follow suit.

Same for a lot of people mate, you do get the odd person who says "Noooooo, I haven't got a single issue 4.3 has been the best ever ever ever"
Well that's great for them but in all fairness i've not done anything different than I did before so it is the OS.
Kitkat has had a fair amount of work put into it, i'd like Sony to take their time with this release and get it perfect, waiting for thing to be patched and optimized is a pain.

Hey guys, noticed no one had posted the latest OFFICIAL stock OTA kernel yet and if they have, sorry I missed it
This is not the leak. This is the OFFICAL, lol
Also this is for Gingerbread Sense Roms. Not AOSP.
Anyway, here it is in its full unmodified glory: 2.6.35.13
Thanks Koush for the AnyKernel Updater.

That kernel version is the same one that's in our 4.06.605.3 roms. It was built on 8/18/2011.

It's been like 40 days since it starting rolling out GB and Thunderbolt had the froyo kernel within like 2 weeks of kernel release I think some users were badgering HTC to release it as well. The main release I'm in a hurry is I want to get something out before I upgrade to the Nexus Prime which I will do upon release and won't spend as much time on the Inc.

They still haven't officially rolled out the update. They did a couple of test batches but it has never been released to all Incredibles. My buddy at work is stock and never got the notification. I think their tests always revealed another issue, like we've seen with the stock based roms.

Interesting, I guess they're letting the Inc fade out. Kind of amazing that it's even being considered, given how "old" this phone is.
I wish HTC would release another classic like this instead of turning to gimmicks like 3D and Beats. I mean, the Rezound? Really? Sense is enough of a selling point, IMHO. If they just backed it up with killer specs.
I digress. Thanks for the kernel, Stang. Much appreciated!
Thanks. I was wondering where this was like three weeks ago. Figured I was just blind :O Very useful for trouble shooting.
Well, its whatever. People on XDA would much rather bash those that need help than to actually help them. I'm still learning but I can't get anywhere with these types of comments. So until then I'll be over at themikmik.com.

[Q] [Discussion]Android 4.2

I have seen 7 forums With Android 4.1.2:laugh: So why isnt anyone developing Android 4.2.1 for Our xperia x8
It's easier said than done. The devs are working on it. You should be thankful that you have 4.1 when your device actually came with 2.1. So I think it's better not to ask for more. It's almost similar to asking for ETA, which is not allowed here in XDA.

^this.
another thing is that as newer updates comes, our phones are not getting any younger. we should be glad we have 4.1. other than that, let's not expect too much. our devs are amazing, but if an update is too much for the x8, there's not much we can do.

[Q] Android 4.2.2 for x8?

More like a rage, than a question, but... why is there no one trying to port 4.2.2 for ours x8?
Many lower spec phones have a port, wich to be fair, do have bugs, but at least have it. What happened to the x8 dev scene? Many thanks to nAa for keeping x8 alive, but is there no one else that can scratch the surface of 4.2.2? Plus with the .32 kernel aren't things supposed to be fair easily in porting?
I see nAa wrote 4.1.0 is coming, but... i sure would want 4.2.2 for my baby

I must admit that I am working on that but I'd prefer you to be patient in this area
For experience of 4.2.2 we need many requirements, ex:
unlocked BL
A new kernel (for bugless roms)
Enough knowledge for cooking kernel(we need to partition internal memory{for heavy 4.2.2} which was not necessary on gb)
Jtag tools (cooking kernel is a sensitive progress & hard bricks is so regular)
& just some developers have the knowledge & tools for cooking
#& I'm pretty sure if a recognized developer cook that kernel there will be a lot of roms for working on it

I don't think the experience would be up to much though with so little ram and microsoft's (LG) cheapo hardware ideology..

Kitkat, Deadlock Free

I usually dont post these kinds of threads, so this one is an extreme rarity.
How many of you all are as relieved as i am that Kitkat is deadlock free? How many of you that ran jss/jls builds are relieved that they havent had a deadlock since trying out one of the Kitkat builds? And especially, how many of you are happy that the jwr vs jss/jls confusion is finally over. i am! im overjoyed that we have finally past this moment of suffing and confusion
what do you think? is anyone else as happy as i am? i cant be alone here..

and still deadlock free with a jss kernel on kitkat, yeah, that's cool
and yes single release > multiple
i'll be happy when kitkat comes out officially so we can get some custom stuff going. The Nexus 5 port is good for now. Also never heard of JLS builds. Just jwr/jss.
Isn't there a chance google could still release another build since nothing has been officially OTA yet. So not free from jss/jwr stuff yet?

It occurs sometimes when you type in an app (like Whatsapp, for instance).
The Keyboard and in fact the entire system locks up and you can't do anything about it.
Most of the time the screen still registers your inputs (which you can verify by activating the vibrate feedback) but the system doesn't react.
Sometimes these lockups only last a few seconds, sometimes the entire phone locks up completely so you have to restart it, though that is rare (at least for me it didn't happen yet).

its something that every user of a jss/jls rom experienced. some much more than others, but everyone experienced. while typing, the keyboard and everything else would lockup, for 10-30 seconds, then continue like nothing happened. for many, it would also happen in random times, and in random app. for some people, it happened constantly, for others it was a once in a while occurence.
I am totally relieved with KITKAT coming as a HERO and kicking out the a$$ of JWR/JSS kernel,ROMs..
Imagine, No wait why imagine - Now threads will be question free which version is this JWR/JSS? Which kernel should flash?
All the developer/OPs will be happy, relieved that they have no need to mention in the thread about this JWR/JSS sh*t.
All good,All KITKATTY..

lag, really? try trinity with it if losing wifi isnt a big deal. or, you can try ART hidden in the developer settings. its kinda like the custom dalviks that we were using in 4.3, only built in. it speeds things up. you will need odexed gapps for it to work though, or you wont boot. heres pa gapps odexed https://db.tt/EJ59aseZ

So is it definitively true that 4.3 kernels work with 4.4? I need wifi, cause my data plan is not the biggest one so I think I will wait to custom kernels (which will be now very more useful than in 4.3). It's a pity, since 4.4 is more battery efficient for me.
I think this low RAM consumption and better battery life is due to the accomodation of 4.4 to devices with lower specs than nexus 4 so developers will have to re-manage RAM to adapt it to our original neccessities...

well, all the 4.4 roms are still using the 4.3 binaries. so they arent true 4.4 roms, but hybrids. 4.3 kernels might not work with the 4.4 binaries. plus im sure that there are lots of other goodies that we are missing out on at the moment.
It was always beyond me why anyone ran buggy jss roms when there was perfectly fine jwr releases. I've never even seen a deadlock.

XT1060 and Custom Lollipop ROMs and Motorola Apps

Mainly CM12 is lollipop while stock + Xposed is kitkat.
But a lot of people just like CM, its light and sleek and has some nice features/options.

D'oh I guess I forgot about the whole lollipop of it all! That would certainly be a good reason.
For clarification, which features/options does it have that you can't get with xposed?
I'm just gonna wait for the official release, add Xposed, and freeze unneeded crapola but still interested in keeping up. cheers

As of now, there is no xposed for lollipop. It only runs on Dalvik, not ART and the developer does not know when/if he will make it work with art, or if it even can be made to work the same.
I'm thinking its pretty likely something will happen eventually but it doesn't look like he is even thinking about doing much until development of lollipop slows down as he has said for now its "a bit of a moving target"
So it may be a while/never.
Huh, of this I was not aware. I might hold off to see how this pans out.
