Its not the GDDR type since that is used on graphics card and cost a fortune compared to normal DDR type.
It would be DDR2 or DDR3 but i think i read somewhere on the forums it uses DDR3
It uses the APQ8064 S4 pro, the chipset information states this in the memory section :
Dual-channel 533 MHz (8.5 GB/sec)
DDR3 it is.

Wrong, its LPDDR2 I believe.
As far as I'm aware, S600 is the first to support DDR3.

There is no mention on the White paper or the User manual or the website that the RAM is DDR3, so I would not think it was (considering afaik S4Pro supports only DDR2 ram).
If the Z was DDR3 they would tout it as a feature since it would be the first DDR3 phone.
Hence my belief it is not. If you find documentation that states otherwise then let me know. But for now I will believe it is DDR2.
Either way. for the 8.5 GB/sec its either using the high-end DDR2 memory or Low end DDR3, you cant go wrong with either.

Has nothing to do with high end or low end.
It simply means that the ram is at 5xxmhz
Re: [OFFICIAL]Xperia Z vs Galaxy S4(Mar14) & All Upcoming Phones-Don't start new thre
Wrong thread.
The Xperia Z has LPDDR2 (LP = Low Power) like most smartphones today. No smartphones are using LPDDR3 today, but it is expected that Samsung will be the first (or one of the first) to use it this year (GS4 maybe?), and LPDDR4 for tablets will be on the market in 2014.

Yes, it has been confirmed that Galaxy S4 uses LPDDR3 RAM. It seems to be the first phone to use one, even though HTC One uses S600 but I read it somewhere that it uses LPDDR2. But for Xperia Z, it's a no go for LPDDR3 as the chip doesn't support it.
For me S4 is no CM friendly but you can expected long support from Samsung like S2.
One is CM friendly but software features and hardware specs are below S4.
Xperia Z is the least interesting of all both hardware and software but it can play with me in the bath. I might go with it.
Galaxy S4 does indeed use LPDDR3:

Helloooooo everyone,
I just received a call from Samsung here in Qatar, Doha telling me to come and pick your note 4. I went there expecting Snapdragon because our LTE frequency bands 800 and 2,600 MHz (LTE bands 7 and 20). So i was shocked to see that I got the Exynos which as far as I know doesn't support 800Mhz.
http://www.ooredoo.qa/en/4G-LTE-technology
End of the story, I put in my sim card in preparing to return it if it didn't support my LTE but to my surprise the 4G was the first thing to show .

Think there are a lot of shops in the UAE that have the 910C and would be willing to ship internationally.

There's quite a few Polish shops which started popping up with it, I would try to get it within the EU so you can avoid additional taxes.

Can't find anywhere that will ship to the UK sadly, unless you want to pay ridiculous amounts on eBay.
Is this compatible with AT&T's and T-Mobile's 4G "LTE" Network to some extent?
Also, does the 910C sport a CAT6 LTE Modem?

Nice phone for the money.
Be better if kernel source were released so the xda wizards could
do some development.
Already own this. Enhanced version.
do we know if this device gets official MIUI V6 or KitKat in general ?????
MIUI 6 for sure.
This is indeed a nice device.
One question does this device has screen protection such as Gorilla Glass or Dragontrail Glass like Redmi/Hongmi 1s?

Doesn't list it in the specs. Just says it is an IPS-LCD Screen.
IPS stands for in-plane switching. An IPS-LCD is a type of thin display that offers better viewing angles than TFT-LCDs. IPS-LCDs feature two transistors for each pixel, where TFT-LCDs use just one. This requires a more powerful backlight, which delivers more accurate colors, and allows the screen to be viewed from a wider angle. The downside is that an IPS-LCD may consume more power than a TFT-LCD.
IPS-LCDs typically are found on high-end cell phones and portable devices. Apple's iPhone and iPad both feature IPS-LCDs, as does the Motorola Droid.
where can you buy the 16gb version?
i found the 2gb ram version here but it says it only has 8gb
with regard to the 2g/3g it says it supports:
2G: GSM 900/1800/1900MHz
3G: WCDMA 900/2100MHz
does this mean i would get full HSDPA speeds on the Three network in the UK like i do currently with my Galaxy Note 1 (N7000)
No

May not get. It won't take time to do so for them. When indian companies like xolo did for many 1 year old phones immediately after release, why can't Xiaomi?
http://en.miui.com/thread-67454-1-1.html
All Redmi phones will get MIUI 6 developer version and stable version; We will try our best to release some beta versions by the end of Dec. 2014
I think the device is pretty great for the price tag.
Got some really nice specs of you ask me.
Works great in general use, web surfing with chrome is butter smooth and sweet gaming performance as well.
My only hardware issue is with the camera, despite being a 13 MP camera, it's pretty lame, but still you can get "okay" photos out of it.
And yea Btw, blame Mediatek for the source code. [emoji16]

The Snapdragon 410 version only has a quadcore processor.
There is also a ZE551KL version which is the same as the 615 above but with 3GB RAM and hi-res screen.
EDIT:
I chose the octa-core ZE550KL version for the extra power with low res screen. Battery life is great and not being a gamer, I find no pausing and phone very responsive.

If you find alternative with better spec and doesn't care about brand and want freedom(from wall/powerbank) and care about "do everything for me" then it not worth it.
Whoever if you really sony fan/only use for gaming and have powerbank. Forget other alternatives. There no other phone have H.S control than xperia 1/5(play while using charger and use like doesn't have battery).
If you willing to "let me do it my self" and fine with decent smartphone. Then it a fine smartphone.
If you care about no fake camera
(48/108main+2macro/useless+2depth/useless+2ai/useless) or (48main+5ultrawide/macro"useless"+2macro/depth/ai/useless)
xperia have decent camera. and have raw support, and google bokeh(you can change bokeh point after take a photo)+10/20burst with autofocus
And 120fps 4k hdr hlg and all lense video hdr hlg and eyes auto focus+object tracking both photo and video(except some mode/hdr hlg mode)
If in between choose you most use case
Does support custom rom
Yes. But as far i know only 2 rom that officialy support it. Sony aosp project(or very basic vanilla android that sony still support to android 13 and normaly for long time) and lineage os(still very new with less sony feature for now)
Any known issues
Yes. While it android 12.
It does not support material you,
H.S control on dualsim(hk) may or may not *kinda* broken(mine is but fixable by update all GE to version 8.x.24)
phone may or may not have bug(dynamic vibration stuck/display glitch/forceclose/cutout)
dynamix vibration stuck
sometimes it can stuck if sound came from different app so fast/phone freeze for few ms while new audio play. It minor bug and for almost 2 year usage, mine only happen less than 5 and last one happen this morning.
It fixable by reboot the phone
Display glitch
It can randomly happen if phone is long sleep while display/monitor connected via hdmi. While it more often than dynamic vibration. It just minor bug and nothing to worry as force reboot from key fix it.
Forceclose
While it not for sony only but most older app still doesn't support android 11 yet let alone 12. Thus crash can happen if app still use very old method permission.
Cutout
As sonly license 21:9 as cinemawide for mobile some app may not yet support this display example battlefields mobile. Using poco m3 pro 5g with same 6.5inch are better on poco as display on sony kinda cutout on bottom and both side.
Some app may have black bar at bottom(example disney hotstar) but again it just minor bug that doesn't really ruin the experience.
