Hi!
I have got my xperia z1 C6906 for 10 days and now I am facing issues with power button that feels like it doesn't stay firm as it used from day one.
Now I called sony support and was told to bring it in store for exchange.
But I have talked for over 30 minutes and store clerk said they will not exchange it, so the question is:
If i flash my back up ftf will it reset call counter, and will there be any evidence of me altering it, such as security section in service menu where all of certificates located and displays if they are okay?
I checked my Xperia S and after recent flashing it says in total call timer section Unknown.
Please reply if you have flashed your xperia z1 using flashtool and could check your total call timer section as well as security.
Post a screenshot if possible.
Thanks.
UPDATE:
Went to store and was told to call for service, since over 30min used.
After small chat with teck support returned to store and demanded exchange of faulty hardware (withing 14 days from purchase).
Got brand new Z1!!!
No longer need to think about service center.

hi,
bought a note yesterday... dint remove the sticker on the screen till now as i dint find time to play with it...
i started with rooting process... i ran the doomlord v3 zergrush... while the process started i removed the sticker only to find out that there was a dead pixel on the screen so i removed the usb cable while it was rooting nervously.... actually only two steps started : the command prmopt said something has to be mounted(most probable the inbuilt memory -16gb-as my phone file manager is not able to the read memory now)...
so if i take it to samsung mobile service centre for this dead pixel issue will they notice the root(most probably improperly installed once-- info-- i dint find any superuser file in my mobile)??? and i can take it to the service centre only after 2 days as im a bit busy so will they replace the mobile due to this dead pixel???
looking forward to some answers.. please help me...
update : file manager is working fine....
one more thing... if i take it to service centre after 4-5 days of purchase.. will i be eligible for replacement of handset or they,ll repair it??? as the service centre here will take a long time to repair stuff....
Anybody??????? some help plz....

Please have patience guys its long story and i need ur suggestions :crying:
About My Phone Problem:
3months back When i had GB on my note phone used to reboot or freezes then lock screen comes
and signal becomes zero this would happen more then 15times with in 10mins and phone would
become hot so i used to switch off it for a while..later it would b stable..
i was not knowing the reason i thought its my sd card..i tried few days
without sd card but same thing used to happen..whenever this happens battery drains ...
Then ICS update came and same problem continued. :crying:
After ICS i faced one problem with screen..DOnt know how to explain but it was like
screen crashed for 2 secs (something similar disturbance when ur mobile is near crt monitor) after 2secs it would be normal..this happened 4 times
i erased all the data and did factory reset and didn't install any apps for few days
then one day i tried to transfer .APK file from my another android phone.
After receiving the file same problem started...i tried to send other files same thing happened .
I felt its Bluetooth which is causing this..This time i switched of Bluetooth and problem stopped..
.i made a video sorry for the quality its only 2mp camera
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ya0gIQX1mjY&feature=youtu.be
Samsung Customer Care:
They asked me whether i updated my Note through KIES i said then they said that may be bluetooth files have not installed properly
and suggested me that for updates i should go to Samsung service center...(Then whats the use of KIES???)
Service Center:
I went to service center told them about my problem they checked my version and said sir ur ics is not installed properly and ur software is old..They said they will update it..
After updating i checked it but still same problem when ever i try to on bluetooth and send a file...
He said PBA(Motherboard) should be replaced sir..so i asked him whether its a defective phone.
.he was like i cant tell u sir because its 6months old phone(he had already
checked the phone for water damage etc it was all clear and i never dropped my phone till now ..
i had only i scratch on my s pen and on screen i had screen guard)
so they told me to wait for 1week as part is not available with them...
while submitting my handset i told them not to put any scratches or any dents on phone(i had bad experiences with my Nokia N8 ) and i want to see my old motherboard (as i was not sure whether they will replace it or not)
After 1 week Service Center:
Yesterday they called me and told me that phone is ready sir..
when i got my phone battery was low ie below 15% and i tried Bluetooth for a while and problem was solved
but when i saw back cover it had 2 big scratches and camera glass has scratches(they agreed to replace back door and back glass of camera) and they didnt even show me old motherboard..
so i was arguing with them.they replied that we have changed PBA trust us..u can check the job sheet number with customer care and they will provide the details..and suddenly my phone rebooted..
After 5mins tried Bluetooth option for a while and same problem. But this when even this happened i used to get connect ur charger..
So he told me that its only notification sir...since ur phone has less charge its not rebooting but gives notification by coming to lock screen (does this happen with all notes?)
i told him to charge my phone for a while
After 20mins @ Service center:
Battery level was 21% so we tried transferring a file ..Bingo it happened again..
then technician told me that its not motherboard sir may be Antenna problem ..wil contact u after 2days sir..so i asked him u guys didnt even check what was the problem and u changed PBA and now ur telling me that its Antenna problem???
Sir give us 2days time will let u know the cause..
i told them to replace my phone..so he replied that Samsung only replaces the parts
Samsung Customer Care:
i informed them and they suggested me to talk to Area Executive Manager
Area Executive Manager
After listening to my story(he was polite ) he told me that PBA is heart of the phone so even after replacing ur problem didnt solve so i guess we should provide u replacement but according to our policy we only replace parts but i wil try my level best to replace..mean while i will send technician to check ur phone and then wil let u know in 2days
So guys what should i do??
Should i accept the phone with replaced parts or should i request them to replace my phone with new one??
P.S Never Rooted or installed Custom rom
that really sucks. I hope they give you a replacement phone asap.
You are already in contact with the officials of samsung, what do you expect from xda members, suggest otherwise?
Just be patient. Read what your warranty reads. Usually they will try to repair whatever needs to be repaired then only replace the whole unit if they cannot solve it.

From what I understand customer service in general in India is terrible with delays, scratched phones etc. Hope it gets resolved!

note 3 neo issue
i had purchased the phone from authorized samsung showroom a month back. the first day itself the phone hanged when i entered the camera app. i thought it would be a minor bug and would get solved and then when i used to put my phone on charge it used to turn off not always but many times. i went to the service centre yesterday and they said we will update the software and give you that should solve the problem. i had doubts though and got the phone back after they did it and the phone got witched off again on charge. went again today and they dint even know what the problem was and said i needed to leave my phone with them for 3 days. stil not sure whether they would solve the issue or not. one thing he said confidently was that they wont replace the phone. i got very pissed. waiting for the improvement
mr kailash
Sur is ur problem solved. I need to no bcoz i have same tis problem
The Xperia Z vibrator is not working
I got my Xperia Z (white) yesterday from the Sony Store. It was officially available in India from yesterday.
After switching ON the phone for first time, it seemed to vibrate once. After that I charged it a bit (for 40mins), connected it to PC companion and had an update installed (Although firmware version still remained same....so God knows what the update was all about). After that I installed my apps and everything seemed fine. I did not notice the Vibrator issue till the time I put my phone in silent mode today and as a result later realized that I had 15 missed calls since the vibrator had not worked.
I went to the service menu and did service test for all functionalities. Everything apart from the vibrator works correctly.
Can this be a firmware problem owing to the firmware that was installed through PC companion?
Or is it a faulty set itself?
I'll try to reset everything and probably go for a repair through SUS. If it works, I'll report back. Else it is back to the service centre I guess.
Just another question. If I return it to the service center now, I should get a replacement...right?? Or will they repair it instead? Its just been 2 days :'(
Damn I loved the phone so much and within a day I have this issue :'(
Anyone else having a similar problem????
Most people are having issues with the notification led, but not the vibrator. I'm beginning to suspect it's a hardware issue since it doesn't even vibrate once when you power on the phone..

I'm going to the service centre tomorrow.
They are gonna replace it....right? Since it's just 2 days old and clearly a manufacturing defect with my handset??
I really hope they replace it
Having the same problem with mine. Returning tomorrow in hope to get a new one.
*Got mine replaced with a new unit today.DOA.

Hi!
because of that Ringer sound level changing' BUG, I just made a little chat with HTC (USA). I'm from Europe. They said that I cant convert my stock firmware to google play because my phone is somehow branded to wireless operator. That doesn't happen in my country
Can I convert to Google play and back without repair center knowing that? I have 9 months warranty. I will need to send phone to repair center because of purple camera. So I cant risk it. maybe google play ROM hasn't that bug? I almost lost my job because I didn't notice server fail notifications in my phone. HTC support cant help. They dont know if "big boys" in HTC knows about this bug. They dont know if they will resolve this error. They dont know when next update will be OTA. They can only say that they ar sorry.
The best thing they said - HTC never releases update without 100% testing it

No. The purple tint issue on the camera is pretty much a hardware problem, not software. Flashing GPE won't help you get rid of it, sorry to say. So if you're afraid risking your warranty to void, it's best to send your phone to the repair center before you start tweaking your beloved phone.
Camera fault is hardware issue and of course Service center will solve that problem. But Ringer sound level problem can be resolved by software change. That I can do right now. HTC support is useless about software bugs so I need to resolve this by myself. I just don't want to loose warranty so I could send my phone to repair center later. For me service center repairs phone in 3 weeks. I'm not ready to use Nokia E51 for 3 weeks in summer
So I want to resolve software fails right now and hardware fails later. I get server notifications 24/7 on my phone and I need to know about them as soon as they show up. If phone sets it's ringer to lowest possible sound then I miss notifications So it's "work important" for me.
I moved this discussion to it's own thread since it's a Q&A and since it was sort of off topic in it's previous thread. Good luck!

like @gelo01 said, if youre gonna send the phone under warranty, do it now. dont change the software or your warranty will be void unless you can revert all changes back to 100% stock, this will require s-off.
So earlier today I dropped my phone, and cracked the screen. I got what appears to be a common issue with the Pixel 5a, where a small crack will cause the entire screen to stop working, flashing green occasionally. It seemed as if the fix was to get the screen replaced on the phone and things should be working fine. I could hear the notifications come in on my phone, but couldn't get any touch inputs to work on the phone. Or see anything beside the green flashing. To get the phone fixed as soon as possible I called a uBreakiFix store nearby and they said they could fix the phone in a few hours and already had the Pixel 5a screen in stock. I dropped off the phone and the techs told me they would call in 2hours for me to come pick up my phone. About 1hr later I was called and asked for my phone password to run google diagnostics on the device.
I wasn't comfortable giving random techs my cellphone password, so they said I could come into the store and put the password in for them, and watch as they run the google diagnostic tests. After I arrive, I ask what the diagnostic tests are and why the tech needs my password to run them. They explained it is a built in part of the android software that google has on all pixel phones. I explained that I do not have the stock android ROM on my phone, and my device is using Lineage OS 18.1. After a bit of back and forth with the tech, them trying different ways to access the google diagnostics menu, all of them failing. Eventually the uBreakiFix tech told me they cannot let me have my phone until they run the google diagnostics on the device. The techs don't know what the diagnostics are just how to access the menu and run the tests. The only other option is for the tech to undo the screen replacement and give me back my broken phone. The issue with the store is that google requires all phones to have a google diagnostic test run after service, or else google will stop selling replacement parts to the store, and no longer allow them to be an authorized google repair location.
The techs let me use my phone and try to figure out how to run google diagnostics myself. I couldn't figure out how to make it happen, the closest I got was creating a bug report in the developer options section. The store is also not allowed to sell me a screen because that goes against google policy too.
With all of this information I contact a google support rep, and start chatting with them online. (using my now fully functional phone in the ubreakifix store). The support rep tells me they need to escalate the issue and will try to have someone call me about the issue, by the time I finish explaining what has happened to the various google support reps, it's been almost 1hr and the ubreakifix store is going to close. Eventually I get in contact with a google rep on the phone with 5min left before the store closes(using a different cellphone). I explain the situation, I have a custom rom google diagnostics don't exist, let the store give me back my phone. The rep talks to a supervisor, asks me multiple times if I can just reset the phone or flash stock ROM back onto the device so that google diagnostics can be run. I am trying to figure out what is involved in the google diagnostic so maybe I can get that info myself without having to change my ROM, but the rep is unable to answer. Finally the ubreakifix techs tell me they gotta get home, so I get the techs to agree they won't do anything else to my phone until I come back tomorrow morning and leave the store while still on the phone with the google support rep. Continue talking to the rep getting nowhere, they tell me the best they can do is try to get me in contact with a google product specialist who will email me later about options.
Here's the email that I get from google about 20min after my phonecall.
Hi [TDI_WORM],
Thanks for contacting Google support.
I'll forward your case to our Specialist.
To get more information about this case, please send us the work order from UBreakIFix and if they can provide the documentation about the policy that they mention.
Thanks!

I sent the rep the case number as well as a statement saying I cannot flash stock rom back onto my phone, and all I want is for google to waive the requirement of diagnostics for my repair.
I guess my questions are: has anyone else come across a similar issue? How did you resolve it? Do you know what the google diagnostics are? Is it possible to recreate google diagnostics with Lineage OS 18.1?
TL;DR: Broke my screen, took it to ubreakifix to replace screen (they had pixel 5a screens in stock), store replaced my screen, but won't give back phone without running "google diagnostics" because its google policy that all repairs have a diagnostic run before returning to the customer. I held my working phone in my hand but could not take it with me because LineageOS does not have a google diagnostics menu. Google support rep said they will escalate to higher but I should just bring whatever I need to the store and flash stock rom on the phone so ubreakifix can run the google diagnostics.
It would have been much faster to just flash the OEM ROM back onto the phone, after backing it up. Then test and get it out of the store, and restore from the backup. Of course the whole thing is utterly stupid, and someone at Google should have enough brain cells to just tell the tech to give you your phone back, but that is where we are.
Edit: it would probably have been possible to flash OEM Android to the inactive slot and retain your current ROM. /edit
Please note that this is happening because Google is trying to tightly control the repair of "their" phones with their parts at shops that will do exactly as they say. This is why we need a Right to Repair law in the U.S. Anyone should be able to buy the repair parts and do the job themselves if they wish (or have an independent shop do it), and not have the manufacturer dictate everything. The Land of the Free isn't.
never and i mean never bring your phone to them. just go through google directly. i dealt with them once as i figured id ignore all the horror stories i'd heard about them. i shouldnt have. ill check on stock and see if i can pull it off the phone. if so, it can prob be made into a magisk mod and installed
diag stuff
i found 2 apps. so i included both and screenshots showing their locations and perms
Get a good case. It likely would have avoided all this. So does that app need to run to reinitalize the phone? If it looks good to go... go.
