I am having an issue flashing recovery. I tried flashing it through ROM manager and i cant get passed stock rocovery. It boots into it, i try reinstalling packages and it comes up with this message:
"E: failed to verify whole-file signature
E: signature verification failed
Installation aborted"
Does anyone know how to fix this?

I can't flash any .zip file on my bionic CWM just says installation aborted E: signature verification aborted. Can some one help me?
You need to toggle signature verification to off in the install ROM section of clockwork recovery mod.

I have recently flashed stock rom GINGERBREAD.DDKQ8 (Android Version 2.3.6), now I am trying to root my mobile and I have tried all option but couldn't succeed;
I tried Galaxysrooter and it shows "error on update extract, is your sdcard working?"
i tried to flash upd_1.zip but it shows "installation aborted"
i tried SuperOneClickv2.3.3-ShortFuse but it hangs after few minutes.
Please help me how I can root my galaxy ace 5830
PS: I have also tried to change my SD card from 16GB to 2GB.

It solved my problem of update form package failed / Installation aborted

Rooting 2.3.6 failed
I have the same problem too. Tried upd_1, AceGingerRoot, ROOT-S5830C-i-M, update_su, SuperOneClick 2.3.3. and no way to root my Phone.
I'm thinking about return to 2.3.5...
Are you trying to root through stock recovery? If not, try stock recovery

I have re-flashed DDKQ rom again and first thing I did 'root' and it was successfully
I've looked all around and couldn't find anything about this problem for this device. I rooted the tablet using the z4 root program. Next I installed CWM flashed it to the tablet. Afterwards, I pressed reboot in recovery, a few seconds later I get the error message in the stock Samsung recovery that says something along the lines of "failed to verify whole-file signature" Can someone direct me in the right direction where I'll be able to install this recovery please?

Thank you so much, I got everything correct now.
I was trying to install CM11. Tried installing the zip from external memory and from an SD. Tried four different versions of CM but here's the message I always get:
This package is for "m3, m3xx, i9305, GT-I9305" devices:
this is a "m0"
E: Error in /sdcard/cm-11-20140117-NIGHTLY-i9305.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
Could it be that Samsung Knox has something to do with this error? Root gone wrong? I am unable to check the root status since Knox is closing superSU.
I would appreciate all the help I can get.

Maybe you got the wrong (outdated) Recovery. Try to flash latest Recovery (cwm vor TWRP) and that should work! :thumbup:

I have tried a few different CM11 ROM's and its all has failed... initially I got the error message
"This package is for "m3, m3xx, i9300, GT-I9305" devices:

I then looked for the GT-I9305 ROM and now i am getting a different error message... pic attached...
Can anyone help please...
What i did... I clicked Install, chose the ROM(latest cm-11-20140909), then Add More Zips and selected gapps-kk-20140606-signed.zip (which i downloaded from wikipedia)
and its showing failed... And i did a factory reset before I did the above....

Make sure you click the i9305 button and check the file name before flashing it otherwise you will hardbrick your phone.
Use Phil recovery or CWM, twrp has been giving me problems since 2.6.0.0. I am currently using cwm touch, besides a few freezes (which was fixed by pulling the battery) I didnt get any errors or problems with it
