Error of OS when used headphones - Windows Phone 8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello.
I just found a strange error in my L820. When I connect the headphones to the jack, the volume level goes to 0 and I cant increase the volume level. When using the back button only refresh the volume bar at the top of the screen. The only way to fix this is making a softreset. Had any one else experienced this situation?
Here is a short video.

Volume keeps resetting down to nothing

I tried to set the volume on the title bar of the today menu to something other than the lowest volume (nothing). I close it, then reopen it, the indicator resets it to the lowest volume.
Has anyone seen this before? I've tried searching but found mostly bluetooth volume isssues.
Yep, BT will do it if you have the volume off when your turn BT on. Also, if you have HTC Home make sure that in the profiles tab it's not set to silent or vibrate.
It turns out to be some weird feature. If I tap on the speaker image part, it will make the phone silent. If I tap on the sound part, the 3 lines to the right of the speaker image part, it will turn on sound. I didn't even know I had that feature.
I'm having this exact problem with my Mogul. I tried tapping on the "sound lines" like you said to fix it but that doesn't do anything. I'm stuck.

Adjusting volume increments

Is anyone aware of a way to change the system volume increments when using the up/down keys on the phone or E100 remote?
The volume can be adjusted more finely with the touch screen, but this means taking the phone out and fiddling around a bit. Some are finding the lowest volume you can get with hardware buttons a tad too loud with noise canceling phones that sit in the ear canal.
Thanks
Would be VERY usefull....
I too am wondering that. I looked in the tweaks section and searched around but no concrete answer for it.
This would actually be very usefull!!!
Don't sweat it Guys.
Both default volume bubble and HTC Volume Control controls the volume in following increments: Vibrate>Silent>20>40>60>80>100. There's no other way to fine tune it.
Maybe the HTC Volume Control UI is a bit misleading, but if you tap with the stylus, you'll see and hear that every procent has 3 corresponding lines.
If you tap it, you can get it in 1 line increments, this is not a misleading UI, it adjusts the volume in 1 step increments. You may not be able to notice it with the phones speaker but you sure can with earphones.

Click to collapse
Exactly.
If You listen to music 3bars is often too loud but 1 or 2 is perfect. So a solution for this would be very helpfull.

Also looking for a solution to this problem...
I have a touch pro2 and as you describe here the system volume can be changed 1 bar at a time with finger.
But it can also be changed 1 bar at a time pressing the volume buttons (or volume buttons on headset) IF the screen is turned OFF. If the screen is ON the buttons will move it 3 bars.
If the phone is locked then it does not matter if the screen is OFF, it will still move it 3 bars at a time. So right now I never use the lock on the phone as I need the 1 bar step size when listening to music with my headset.

Bluetooth Music Volume stuck

Hey folks.
Has anyone experienced problems with the sound level getting stuck?
Basically i was listening to music over bluetooth and just turn the volume up then suddenly the level dropped.
When I tried to turn it back up the volume refuses to go past about 2/3 level. I can slide the bar up and it moves but the sound stays the same.
I have tried with just the speaker and it goes full but just refuses to go any higher with my bluetooth headphones!

Managed to fix it.
Put the soundlevelalert.apk back into system/app then rebooted.
Then when I turned the volume up it popped up the warning but then let me set it higher.

Volume lock

I'm interested in locking the Bluetooth volume. In other words I want the Bluetooth volume to always be set on step back from max and can't be lowered or raised.
I just Bluetooth audio to my car stereo and every time I grab my phone I end up hitting the volume rocker... So user error but still annoying.
Anyone have some ideas?

How to fix low call volume?

I recently received a Pixel 4xl and really like the phone except the call volume is a lot lower than other phones I have had. I have to press it up to my ear to be able to hear the other person. The volume is already set to the max. Is there a way to make this louder? The phone is not rooted, but will root if that is what it takes to fix the volume.
Thanks!
Mine is fine with the headset, but I had a similar bug with my pixel buds and maybe it's related.
While on a call. Press the volume up button, then while the volume slider is on the screen, slide the volume down and then slide it back up. You'll notice it's much louder. You can also try pressing volume up and then slide it down with your finger on the slider, then use the buttons to turn it back up.
I only had to do this once and then in call volume was fine after that.
For some reason it got stuck in some sort of limit where the ceiling wasn't really the ceiling.
Other than that, you can try factory reset. If not that, then it could be some sort of hardware issue.
