100% charge but won't turn on - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I have a Samsung Note N7000, the phone is off and it hasn't been working for about 2 months, when I charge it the green battery comes up on display and charges to 100 percent but when I go to turn it on it does nothing, the screen goes black and then the battery with the circle in the middle pops waiting for the charging status to appear and then the green battery pops up.
Any help would be much appreciated
Thanks

Unplug from charging and try to boot into recovery (volume up+power+home button) and also see if you can get into download mode (volume down+power+home). and give details what did you do 2 months ago that it stopped powering up.

When I unplug from charger I can not do either of those things, all though when it is connected to the charger and I can boot it into download mode. I dont think I was doing anything to it at the time, I think the charge just dropped on it

have you tried with different battery? seems like battery isnt holding the charge when disconnected. Have you tried to connect to PC via USB and see if it stays on in download mode, also try to open odin to see if it detects it.

As you have not provided details, i am assuming that you downloaded the stock rom and followed the instructions from the link i gave you and odin gave message success?
Connect your phone to pc open pc odin and flash philz kernel (.tar file) in download mode and once it is finished try to boot into recovery.

[Q] Phone will not power on after failed Odin restore

I decided to upgrade to Cog2.2beta5 from Cog2.1.4 today using ROM Manager. Everything seemed to go well but after install and reboot all I got was a black screen and subsequent reboots landed me at the same result.
So I thought restoring back to stock with Odin One Click from this forum, the one with all the ROM files built right in, was the best next step. I downloaded Odin and followed the instruction to the T and it got stuck at the PIT step. After a few attempts at it now my phone won't even power on. I've let it sit without a battery in for several minutes and even charged it on a wall charger for 30 minutes just to make sure it wasn't a dead battery. Still won't power on or respond at all.
I'm fairly new to all of this... Any ideas on what would cause a total melt down of the phone to the point of not even powering on? It has been flawless for me since launch.
Didi you download the drivers? also did you unplug the phone while doing the flash>/
pull battery sim and sd if you have one
Wait a minutes or so
plug in USB
hold vol up and down
put in battery
If the phone does not immediately go to download mode, you have a fancy paper weight that doesn't even weigh that much.

I did download the drivers and from everything I could see, my system and Odin recognized the phone without issue.
I had to unplug it during the process because the process froze in the same spot for well over an hour. I didn't see any other choice.

Guess it's a paper weight then because the phone won't power up at all let alone go into download mode.
Thanks for your time guys.
sounds like you might have done exactly what i did with my first captivate and yes it IS bricked! i know you will read "its impossible" to do that but i "thought" i followed the correct steps and flashed only a pit file. what it does is repartition your file system but apparently nothing is added after that...
not sure what steps you took on odin but it sounds like you got the same error i did and then the same issue so im going to assume the same thing has happened here...sorry matey

I had mine hosed for a while and this is what I did to get it back.
When it is unplugged and everything is out of the phone (sd, sim, batt) , hold the power button down for 10 sec, then release.
Put in battery, hold vol up + vol dwn, Plug into different usb port, Plug into phone.
That should get you into download mode
Mine did this too and the steps mentioned fixed it for me
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
I too accidently only wrote the pit file and it wouldn't do anything at all just blank screen . Make sure you remove everything open Odin one click, plug in your phone with the USB cable, hold down volume up and down and plug in battery it should start in download mode. It does work.

Hey,
Take a chill!
Yes you have bricked your tab. No worries happened with mine too. Just install all the required drivers in your PC and when you get that logo connect your tab to computer and Odin will recognise it.
It is basically stuck with download mode with different logo.

Samsung Drivers Are Installed in Computer with ADB,SDK,Java But The Problem Is The Logo In Attachment Above Should Stay Constant It Appears For Sometimes Gets Dissappear Again PLZ Do Reply
The thing is that it does not charge in the mode you are in.
If you know someone that has another Tab dismantle both and use other battery? Or charge your battery on another Tab... Or take your Tab to some kind of repair center and tell them to charge your battery outside of the Tab
Then you should be able to connect in download mode and restock.
What wrong files did you flash?
This is why you don't flash while on low battery, but yes you should be able to recover from odin still when your tab is at that stage. I used odin to recover mine when it was only displaying logo for a few seconds, once odin download begins it will lock your tab into a certain screen and be okay.

I have the same problem
Hello everyone, I have the same problem as described in here, but please can someone give me some step by step instructions, i don't know where to find the drivers. I've done quick web search and found something but i turned out to be a virus. Once when i plugged in my bricked tab id showed up some classic Windows screen and installed some drivers, but now when i plug it in via USB it does nothing (in Odin also nothing). I've downloaded my stock ROM and Odin. Please help.

stuck in middle of everything.

aah ! here is the story.
so i was on some normal n7000 rom like some orignal ones which do come with these phones.
i installed CM nighliess 4.4 which dint really work.
so i replaced it with some Slimbeanversions. and it just sucked!
i was able to enter into cwm recovery before and then i messed up again and now i am unable to enter into cwm recovery
i thought i might just install philz recovery through odin as i was able to enter into download mode
i just did that. and now ..i can go to download mode screen but when i try to continue further with volume up button and restarts. and as its connected with charger/laptop the charging cell appears it restarts it appears again and restarts again.
anyhelp what i am suppose to do and what i have done?
please. Thank you .
regards.
Try to remove the battery for about 20 seconds. While the battery is not in press the power button couple of times. Also make sure there is sufficient charge in the battery. Put the battery back and try download mode. Flash philz kernel or stock ROM of your choice.

SM-T810 stuck in "D/L- do not turn off target." Flash stock rom to fix?

On my rooted T810 I mistakenly hit restart through Knox and ended up in Odin mode. If I do Power + Volume Down it'll show the Samsung logo for a second, then immediately go to "Downloading...do not turn off target." Other key combos like recovery mode don't seem to work for me (unless I'm doing them wrong). What should be my plan from here? I'd like to unroot at this point, so try to flash a stock rom through Odin?
Thanks for the help.
What do you mean restart through knox?
POWER + VOL DOWN should simply restart the device unless you are holding home as well.

I hit restart from within system security. I think that's what started the problem.
Power + Vol Down would start to restart it, but as soon as the Samsung logo came up it would switch to the "Downloading...do not touch target" screen.
I kept it plugged in overnight, but I don't think it charged due to the state it was in because now it won't turn on at all. Wondering if I truly bricked it now.
Just hold POWER + VOL DOWN again. It should reboot.
If it reboots to download mode again you're gonna have to flash something to reset it.
You could just flash twrp or the stock firmware.

Just tried. Nothing. Tried it with both the charger disconnected and with it plugged into the USB on my PC. I left it connected to the wall charger all night, but it doesn't look it got any charge.
Thoughts? Take off the back and try disconnecting the battery?

Get the latest firmware for the T810 from sammobIle and get Odin from here https://www.dropbox.com/s/1mujevgk0brle3f/Odin-v3-09.zip
Only get Odin from there as there are a LOT of fake Odin downloads on the web.
Thanks Lightn1ng and ashyx. Just waiting on the firmware to finish downloading.
FYI- When I got home I plugged the tablet into my PC USB and it flashed the logo screen for a second, then flashed the "D/L, do not...." message for a split second, then the screen went black again and I haven't been able to get it into the download mode or restart or anything.
Oh, and when I plugged it in I didn't get a beep or a pop-up in the notification bar that the tablet had connected with the PC.
Ok, guys, I have Odin and the firmware now.
I fiddled with the tablet a little more and now I'm starting to think I have a bad charger connector. I plugged it in and the screen turned on to the D/L, do not.... screen and then turned off, but if I wiggled the cord a little bit I could get it to come back on or come back on with some flickering of the screen. Still doesn't fix my "downloading, do not turn off target...." issue though. Should I go get a new usb charger cord and see if that changes anything? If that's an issue then maybe I could get back to the point where I could flash the software to it. I dunno.

The issue is you have no charge in the tablet.
That's why it's only displaying momentarily.
Get some charge into it with a different charger and cable.
Once you've done that just flash the stock firmware and all will be good.

Ok, I'll give that a try.
To flash in Odin:
1) Get Samsung USB drivers from http://developer.samsung.com/technical-doc/view.do?v=T000000117 (download the zip file)
2) Install the Samsung USB drivers
3) Open Odin
4) Plug device, in D/L mode, into PC using USB cable
5) In "AP" slot, select the .tar.md5 file you downloaded for the firmware (you might have to extract the firmware zip to find this file)
6) Make nachos
7) LEAVE EVERYTHING ELSE IN ODIN ALONE!
8) Click "Start"
9) LEAVE USB CABLE PLUGGED UNTIL DEVICE AUTOMATICALLY RESTARTS
10) Eat those nachos you made earlier

The solution is posted. My specific problem in the end was that my charger/USB cable was bad so my PC wasn't recognizing the tablet.

LG L90 D410HN Hard Bricked

I have a LG L90 D410HN that is hard bricked, it does not go into recovery or download mode. I had installed some time ago the Lineage 14.1 rom.
I'm trying to follow a tutorial I found here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-l90/general/guide-unbrick-hard-bricked-l90-variants-t3173429, but when I connect it to the pc (without battery), even I have installed all the drivers, it only appears as Unknown Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed) and when I put the battery, it is not recognized just remains rebooting in the LG logo. Any suggestions on what I can do? Thank you in advance.

Nothing specific, I turned the phone off and took out the battery only. When I turned on again, it has been stuck in the LG logo, restarting endlessly and cannot enter download or recovery mode. As soon as I put the battery in the phone, it turns on without pressing the button.
What I think may have happened is I have removed the battery before the system finished shutting down or something like that.
