[Q] galaxy tab gt-p7500 stuck with no OS - Galaxy Tab Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

im having some trouble installing a new OS on my gt-p7500 after wiping everyting. i have TWRP installed but im trying to find a way to push my new rom onto it. when i connect it to my windows 7 based laptop it says that the drivers where not installed. ive installed samsung drivers several times but it keeps saying the same damn thing :/ odin recognizes the device but kies cant connect... any ideas?

You could try flashing the rom anyway. Kies is to install drivers only, if heimdall see the tab, you should be fine. If not, google gt 7500 drivers, should lead to samsung web site to find the drivers for your laptop. Install, and you are good to go.

okay, so now i did all that and apparently heimdall sees the device, now it tells me to locate heimdall firmware package...? is this not the same ROM file as in ODIN?

It could be the same. But, heimdall has more options. A heimdall package i have not used. Normally a rom is in a zip or tar format. Unzip the rom. Open heimdall front end. I have heimdall 1.1. Then put the cache/recovery/param files in the corresponding places. Their is 5 or 6 if i remember right. Then flash. Just do some research first to make sure of everything.

Hey Priyana, I got the same problem.
I can boot to download mod but cant boot recovery mod, and my device is also not recognized when connected to PC
Any suggestion?
Usually just have to keep trying for Odin to detect the device.
Failing that you need a fresh pc.

follow my signature go get the GB-stock-safe-v5 and also the overcome guide.
Follow the page 7 instruction on how to use Odin.
The Odin needs to be version 1.7, like the one included in GB-stock-safe-v5
When driver is good, Odin detects your tab when it is in Download mode, and you can flash the GB-stock-safe-v5

I don't have enough expertise unfortunately. I'm a newbie. May have to give it a try though if I can't get a program other than KIES to do the update. Will keep trying to trouble shoot it though. Thanks.
Read drive ketans thread in the stickies on how to install stock roms with mobile or pc odin. It's really simple, put phone in download mode, connect to pc odin and flash in pda section, done.

[Q] Need help with un-rooting & going back to Stock ROM

I have been trying to un-root my tab 8.9 since Monday without any success, have tried quite a few things, also downloaded stock ROM from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1582943 & tried flashing with Odin but could not as once i put my tab in download mode Odin keeps saying Added!! & Removed!! the next instant; i am not sure what to do & how, can anyone help please!
Download the stock rom from sammobile.com for your device. It'll be a zip file. You'll need to extract the .tar.md5 file from it. Use 7-zip to do that. The .tar.md5 file can then be used in Odin. Browes to it from PDA in Odin. This should return you to stock.

That's not good. Did you get the right rom for your specific tab? If you used the wrong one you've probably bricked it.

i did i did! the device is working fine, all i want is to take it back to the condition it was when it came in a box!!
If the device is still working then it's probably the usb port. I can get one of my computers to recognize my device with Odin but not the other. Try different usb ports and if that doesn't work try another computer if you can. Also make sure you have the usb drivers installed. You can do that by installing kies on your computer.

[Q] Bricked Tab

Today i was gonna restore my tab back to it's original firmware, i had flashed it with CM10. I forgot that they used diffrent file system, so now whenever i try to do something from the kernel all i get is :
E:unkown volume for path [/data]
E:unkown volume for path [/data]
E:Unable process volume! skipping...

Etc
I tried to flash it to a stock rom through Odin, but it seems my PC's drivers are no longer sufficent so Odin doesn't detect the tablet.
Has anyone had this problem, is it fixable?! PLEASE, help me
Reinstall the Samsung USB driver.
That sometimes help to redetect the tab.
Flash with Odin including pit file and repartition checked.

Still no response from Odin.
Any ideas?
Not entirely sure.
But can you follow my signature,
download the GB stock safe v5 package.
Unpack it and use the USB driver in that package?
And Make sure your Odin is 1.7 or just use the one in that package as well.
While you are there, download the PDF too, and if Odin detects, use the guide at page 7, and flash the GB-stock-safe-v5
before that:Make sure Kies is not running.
Maybe uninstall it.

I can't teach you windows.
I use Linux.
But try right click and Run As Administrator. Also the x86 is 32 bit.

samsung galaxy 3 mini fails to write firmware on sm-g730v

Hello everyone,
I tried installing my devices firmware from the samobile site, after having it boot loop. I got it into download mode, connected it to my pc running odin, and tried flashing the firmware. It got as far as loading the recovery, then tried the rest but failed in the end, saying flash write failed or something like that. Would a custom firmware work better? It seems there are tools for other versions of the s3 mini, but not mine, so I'm not sure of the next step.
Thanks in advance,
Nick
You could try using kies to flash the firmware and there is safestrap(twrp) available for the g730v. If kies doesn't work make sure you are following the steps to flash the odin firmware correctly.

I believe I followed the directions correctly for odin, and the kies software should have worked since my phone had an error message that it couldn't see the phone. I tried installing twrp, didn't take. I tried finding the correct safestrap file, but the only one close was for the s3 and the person said it was too big for their screen.
I appreciate your help, and any more would be much appreciated.

Maybe you downloaded some bad firmware, where did you get your odin package from?
I would recommend downloading this for odin.
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=817550096634742565
also here is a link to safestrap for when you unbrick your phone.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga.../recovery-locked-verizon-s3-mini-ne2-t3361624
So the different firmware didn't work. I went so far as to uninstall kies software, used odin 3.07, 3.09, and the latest one with my the same issue. I even used a different cord. I guess the next step is to hook up my phone to my computer using ADB and see if it's stuck in write only mode.
