did you follow the unlock bootloader guide properly?? if you did confirm that your x8 can be unlocked, just flash back to stock kernel and try again!
the black screen was cause you hadnt flashed any rom!
try it!!
and make sure you follow all instructions to the last letter!
I have also same problem.
My phone got bricked today after succesfully unlocking bootloader, and flashing latest nAa kernel in combo with gingerxperia v21. Phone just stuck on bootloop first time, and when i after hour or more on that, pulled battery off, and start on the phone again, it just stayed all time on logo of nAa kernel.
After that i flashed default kernel and default rom 2.1.1. and phone works flawlessly, but doesn't work in any combo of nAa kernel+rom, or with alfs kernel+other roms.
I can't see where is problem if unlocking bootloader goes succesfully, i got r instead of R letter when unlocking bootloader passes.

Thanks forward
use sony ericsson update service for repair
You Have Soft Bricked Ur Lovely X8
Yaa U have bricked ur Mobile.....!!
To Unbrick Ur X8 Download Sony Ericsson PC Companion N Ur X8 Drivers(Optional)If PC Recognized Ur Cell
Connect Ur X8 To PC Open PC Companion Open SUPPORT ZONE>Start> Then In Blue Colour Repair N Follow On Screen Instruction ONE THING Diz Will Take Back u to Ur Original Firmwire N U have to root it again...(BootLoader Will Be Unlocked Dont worry ) PRESS THANKS IF I HELPED YOU ALL THE BEST
Normally CM9 is not for our X8...As far as I know, only Paul's ICS on CM9 is available for X8..
So, did you flashed the custom kernel? (I think it works on nAa kernel...If your phone stops on the SE logo that means it still has the stock kernel, and that might be a reason for this, because installing a rom that runs on custon kernel, in a phone that still has stock kernel, you end up stuck in the SE logo screen.
If you still have stock kernel, you should unlock your bootloader, flash nAa kernel with flashtool and then try to install the rom.
(if you haven't unlocked your bootloader you should check the appropriate thread that informs about the risks of unlocking and if your phone should be unlocked or left locked).
soft brick you phone is still fine, you need to use flashtool, PC Companion or SEUS to restore stock os,
flashtool was the best solution when i had this problem last week,

On the W/X8, if you power off the phone and press the Back key while connecting the phone to the Computer it will "boot" into Flash Mode. The phone actually shows nothing at this point ... you'll only see that SEUS or Flashtool are able to communicate with the device through the "SEMC Flash Device" driver that pops into place when connecting the phone in this mode.
use this firmware.Xperia X8 Stock 2.1

Best Thanks to you guys. You saved my day. For a short moment i wanted to damage my room. I think i don´t install CM9 again and install CM7 (2.3.7). That was made no problems.
Hello, I have unlocked Bootloader today and then tried to flash kernel and it failed and when I try I boot up the phone it won't boot! It just stays in black screen and vibrates when you turn it on. Won't even load to the Sony Ericsson screen ;(. Please help. Need the phone before 14th July. Thanks

Go to here download the first one (219mb) place it in your firmwares folder (where you place kernels) > run x10mini flasher> select flash > select the file > and flash and it's automatically clicked on 'loader.sin' doesn't matter if it's either kernel.sin or w/e it will flash both anyway but just have it on loader.sin lol.
Have your x8 turned of. Connect the usb to the android but don't connect the other end to the computer just yet. Once it's connected to the android and make sure it's turned off beforehand, connect the other end to the pc. Hopefully it should display the green LED light when you just connect it. Hit and hold the back button once you see the LED and connect the usb into the computer. DO NOT LET GO OF THE BACK BUTTON. and wait until it says 'connect in usb debugging mode' and make sure it reads 'flashing finished' before that. After that take of the usb of both ends. power on the device and your device is brand new lol.
I also assume that it's impossible for a kernel to fail installation unless:
you didn't hold the back button down or you let go in the process.
You flashed the wrong kernel E.g. GDX and flashing naa ICS kernel (which is unlikely just an example) cause the KERNEl is only made for ICS and therefore they don't go together so ~
And also for some custom roms you must have it completed in a all in one process. That means you flash the kernel and straight away boot in CWM and flash the rom and install and wipe anything else bla bla bla. But if it is NOT a all in one process then u can just flash the kernel then flash the rom 1 by 1. Read the instructions carefully on the rom and the kernel that's required to flash to use the rom. E.g. ICS rom by nAa which is minicm9 u have to flash kernel then boot into cwm then flash rom. It says that in both articles but this mistake happened to me in the past when I forgot to put the rom in the sd card so I had to contact one of my mental cheap 'friends' lol. Hopefully this works out for you if you need any help just say. And try and provide me with some more detail if all else doesn't work. I'll try my best to answer your query. Remember if you flash that EVERYTHING is gone so it's better than nothing and I also like it when you get to start anew =D.
I also found the quickest and easiest way to get the rom kernel rooted and everything all in one guide I can write up for you once your finished. Let's just get you out of this situation first
That is brick phone..
Yeah just flash stock kernel with flashtool.
And don't forget if you want upgrade, your baseband must 015
and do not flash wrong kernel...must compatible with your rom..

Yes, I put it in the Firmware folder. I downloaded some random stock '.ftf' yesterday and they don't fix the phone

hello, Can you guys tell me which kernel version is safe to flash on my x8?? Bricked my device once before so i dont wanna risk it again. im currently running on gingerdx (i dont know which CM version is that rom.). i have downloaded nAa 07. but i dont know whether its safe or not,. Any help would be much appreciated..
Gingerdx works only on alfs kernel for gdx not even alfs for cm7 you can use alfs gdx V09a but if u have hitachi drivers for lcd you might have some screen cuts, even though works fine for me you can try it or else V08.. don't forget flash addon for V08 and update rom for V09a after flashing kernel and rom..
Read all the instruction on gdx and alfs kernel thread you get to know everything required..
Sent by the walking walkman..
Try to change to stock kernel, maybe your rom don't support for that kernel...................or find a rom that support your flashed kernel, then flash the rom via flashtool
Depends on which GDX you're using. You have unlocked the bootloader? If so, use alfs kernel its on the rom's post -.-

as far as I know
miniCM7 - nAa
GigerDX - alfs
ow yeah!!
dont forget to always check updated kernel and ROM
had screen cut issues on alfs v9a, although worked fine for most of the games, i had to restart my phone to get rid of it. V8 was too laggy and didnt supported my rom very well. Had to switch to nAa 13 and DixinOS but its not smooth as alfsv9a. I will just have to wait for the bugs to be fixed. No option. Thanks dude,.

Hello guys,
I got a problem you all might only be able to help me. I successfully rooted, unlocked bootloader, flashed E15_nAa-ics-03_2.6.29.6-nAa-ics-03.ftf and installed MINIcm9 3.0.2 shakira on my Xperia X8. The rom itself acted a bit slow and the wifi was dropping so i decided to reflash the kernel on E15_nAa-ics-03_2.6.29.6-nAa-ics-04.ftf and put MINIcm9 3.0.5 shakira on the phone. But after i flashed the newer kernel the phone just got blank black screen with no reaction whatsoever. I used SUS to bring the phone back from the dead and started over again used SE tweaker tool to root the phone then unlocked bootloader with S1 tool which reported lowercase r as a sign of unlocked bootloader and flashed the old kernel E15_nAa-ics-03_2.6.29.6-nAa-ics-03.ftf again. And no recovery menu just blank screen again i didnt miss anything im open for any ideas.
1.Should i first try to relock the booloader after i revive the phone?
2.Am i totaly F*** and have to deal with the fact that phone stays on Android 2.1?
btw.. I used Flashtoolx64 ver, 0.9.9.0 it worked perfectly first time. I have all drivers for the process.
Thanks for the help fellas im counting on you all

Try to redownload the kernel and reflash it again. Or you can try to flash other kernel to see what happens. If the other kernel works, maybe the problem is in your ftf file.

I have Xperia X8 with unlocked boot-loader using nAa kernel 14 gb and running android 2.3.7 jelly bread
I was trying to flash nAa jb 03 kernel via flashtool but for some reason the flash was aborted although I did the usual drill ... i tried flashing it back but no result it didnt work.
after that I tried to power up the phone and the led goes green and the phone vibrate and then nothing .... no light on the screen no boot animation just like that..... flashmode is still working i guess....
so I was searched here in xda for a solution and I found out that flashing back to stock kernel should help it via SEUS
so I just wanna make sure Im doing the right thing .... please give me any suggestion ..... its still early to say food bye to my lovely phone
