Unbelievably amazing.
After the piece-de-resistance that I have asus update the information of my tablet on there server, I am finally able to unlock the bootloader of it.
Then I flashed in the CWM and cromix rom as soon as I unlocked it.
This rom is incredibly smooth and power-saving, with extraordinary performance. Tweaking it to such a nearly perfect balance is so magical. Sbdags you are such a wizard.
But I still notice some problems which seem to be unfixable:
1.The notification bar will overlay on the bottom when I attempted to switch the device to tablet UI.
2.The performance of Firefox on this tablet is weirdly poor, which should be impossible for a Tegra4 devices.
3.Apex Launcher sometimes lags
Still much do I appreciate all of those developers who made the CWM, the CROMIX ROM, and the CM11.
Loving you!:highfive:

We are lucky to have sdbags working on CROMi for this tablet, he's done a ton for the transformer line. Youll be loving it even more after I get my hands on it next week .

Hey just had a quick question before I get my hands on the tf701(hoping it shows up tmrw ), when using the phab7 module to get oldschool UI is there any way to access Asus' floating apps? Also, would you be able to port CTM over to the tf701 that would be really freakin cool. If not Ill try and get get by with xposed modules, no pressure.

No the floating apps button has gone with phab7. Although they are not that useful to be honest. I could port CTM but it will take some time.
Got to build CROMi-kk first for the TF701

Simple question, just lookin' for a consensus: do people prefer Phiremod v5.2 or plain old CyanogenMod7 with the wonderful Honeycomb Features on top?
Any sort of opinion counts. Smoothness of GUI, usability, stability, raw burning power-- you name it, I want to hear it. I know every Nook has its own personality too, but whateva. I'm just looking for opinions.
Phiremod for me is the way to go. He knows GUI and does a good job at it. According to phiredrop, the Honeycomb features you're referencing are in the works. Patience my dear. Patience.
The Tablet Tweaks will, when done, and up as one of the CyanogenMod settings in the rom once the developer is done and its all tested and he is happy with it.
Until then, both the Tablet Tweaks and Phiremod will be slightly behind the "pure" CM7 nightlies thanks to having to wait for the nightlies to be able to add things to a custom version.
Of the two, the Tablet Tweaks are more compelling to ME than anything else, so as long as they don't fall too far behind nightlies I am sticking with that version.
Eventually the frenetic development pace the CyanogenMod Team is going at will slow down and someday we will actually see a stable version released:
Phiremod will, I expect, continue to exist and then have all of the CM stuff plus the additions.
The tablet tweaks will be in the base CM rom and cease as a stand-alone- its only there now for developing the changes, after all.
Need Help With Phiremod V5.2
Just flash this ROM a short time ago. Rebooted and I'm stuck on the green android page - the one that says "welcome to android". I keep touching the android to get started, but it doesn't work. Did I do something wrong during the install?
My first question- do you have a backup of the previous rom?
Second- which rom? Phiremod or CM7?
I haven't had that problem with either rom, but a few months back I had plenty of troubles.
Fortunately the NC is hard to actually brick.
There are a few ways to boot into recovery, but the first thing I would TRY is simply holding the power button in and see if it will reboot.
If not you will most likely need to find one of the ways to force reboot and truthfully I no longer remember them. All the info is here in this forum though.

Iiiiiintawesting... well I've waited all this time for GB for my Droid X and it certainly paid off, so I can wait a bit longer.
I'll try Phiremod v5.2 in the meantime, just to get something running on device. Is it possible to dual-boot something off your eMMC and Phiremod v5.2 off the SD?

Yes, Phiremod is the master of GUI in my eyes. His included apps are fantastic as well.
However, the ROM of the hour IMO is the CM7 video test build. That sucker plays full motion in hardware accel and like all of dalingrin's compilations, provides access to the market apps normal cm7 (as of today) doesn't. (Namely, certain live wallpapers like Silhouette which I love.)
When the video code is finalized, and the tablet code is finalized, and both are pushed into CM7, and the phiredrop mod's it.... zomg... digital spunkage.

Yep!! Make sure you donate to CM7 and anyone else you find deserving. Even $1-$5 makes a difference, especially when 1000 people do it!!

Thanks for responding, but I figured it out myself. I just redid the entire flash, but this time I did NOT load GApps. It worked perfectly, and I was able to get all of my old apps, including the market, from my Titanium Backup.
I haven't seen much threads like this so I think people seem quite okay with samsungs Lollipop, but for me it seems to be even worse than Kitkat. Let me mention some things.
Wifi;
Nothing seems to work even worse than Wifi for me. I've changed some settings on the router, changed the auto change from 2.4 gHz to 5 to manual, yet I get this problem that the internet is terribly slow at some moments, and it stays there for like 30 minutes(Downloading a simple app from the play store like apex goes with 20 kb/s).
Functionality;
Everything pops in place as I was used to touchwiz, yet I miss the ambient display alot! Its the function that was very usefull on the stock Lollipop update, but yet Samsung decided to not add it to their software.
Performance;
Even while Antutu tells me my phone improved with the update, I can't see it back. some things just seem to be sluggish at some moments. Like the well known recent button problem which I don't really want to discuss as it is known. But also just opening the menu just seems to go with around 15-20 fps for me(Which just looks sluggish).
Now that might just be Eye candy, but I've installed "Sky Force" from the play store, and even that lags when too much happends in the game.
Batterylife;
From 7:00 AM to 19:00 PM I loose around 60-65% battery, I use my phone as a media player, got it connected with a Moto 360 and sometimes I play a game on it, check Facebook. Just the normal stuff I guess, yet I think this is way too much for my daily use, Battery stats pulls it on the Android system, and BBS doesn't seem to give clear answers to me, as there are crucial wakelocks happening which cannot be frozen.
The looks;
Now this is just something personal, as Touchwiz always had the look of a toy in a store with a big red button on it saying "Try me", I still do not prefer its new looks. Everything looks flat and all those colours just make me have a rainbow phone or something. Simply do not like it, but again; its personal.
Now where am I comparing this with?
As I've always used the note series, I remember my Note 2 being a beast of a phone, then after that the note 3 was impressive too.
When I had the Note 3, all I heared from people was the device being slow cause of bloatware, which never were a problem to me honostly. In these days Samsungs seems to try to improve that but I can simply not see it.
Also I've installed CM12 on the device, and when I see how butter smooth everything runs, switching from task to task, opening the menu. The expirience just enchances my idea of android. Yet it causes me to be limited with functions I cannot use.
Conclusion;
I always have thought that Samsungs software was ment to work better with their devices, but now I expirience the opposite. CM12 seems to work better for me, but yet I want to make use of the pen, pop up window and some s-health features.
So how do you think about the difference, I am curious how others think about my statements, and how you expirience CM12 <---> Touchwiz.
That's just the love hate relationship that most of us have with touchwiz. Love the extra features it offers over stock but hate the bloated memory hog with inconsistent performance it can be with even the most powerful hardware running it.
My Moto X 2014 lollipop is far smoother, faster, vastly more memory efficient allowing more apps to be open without refreshing content - and this is despite having slower processor, less ram and earlier version of Lollipop (5.0 v 5.0.1)
So yeah touchwiz annoys me, but as you say it offers some great additions over stock android that make you often overlook much of its uglier moments.
My Personal Opinion On This Thread That I'm Not Intrested In Buggy Lollipop Firmware I'm Happy With KK

It's indeed strange this "update" release. I updated my n910f through Odin to Lollipop and also think to go back to KK again but for now I'm gonna keep Lollipop a little more and hope Samsung briefly release a "definitve" Lollipop update.

Exynos variants very early builds are being developed by RaymanFX, but we're still far from daily-driver level.
KK is stable for me. I will wait for few more months until bugs have been sorted out.
Note 4
I have the notification here to update, but I'm not really sure if I should do it. My phone on KitKat is very stable, VERY smooth, good battery life, you know, I don't have any problem with it. That's why I'm kinda afraid of updating and getting a slower, buggier performance. So, what you guys who already updated think?

I would say, nope.. i have seen people with better battlife, some with terrible. theres more negative than positives.., check before you update. want to get the new notification on lock? new status bar, icons...etc? new dialer, settings..is it really worth the risk? you can flashback to 4.4.4 anytime. but you will have to root everythinf again. wich is a pain in the ass.

I'm using lollipop for 2 weeks and I say no....
Everything is nice etc, but the snappyness and reliability of 4.4.4 is unconparable. with this...
I wont be updating either, or not for a very long time. I had to put up with it on my nexus 4 and 7. Which are both now sold and switched out to 4.4.4 devices.
There is nothing it added but it messed up a lot. the z3c is probably the perfect phone for me, amazing battery coupled with decent specs, so I wont be risking it either. especially as I cant find a 4.4.4 UK tft unbranded anywhere to roll back to!
I'm taking a look at the Sony Mobile forums and it seems like a lot of people are having issues with Lollipop too. I think I'll probably stick with KitKat, at least for now, until Sony fix the major bugs. My phone is too snappy to risk it
Here are the + and the - for me. It's yours to decide.
Against :
- you loose xposed. That's quite a huge loss for YouTube adaway and that kind of stuff.
It should be fixed someday.
- I hate paying in freemium game. You won't be able to use cheat app. Lucky thing, thing engine, thingcih and stuff...
- Minor bug.
- even if I enjoy this, quite a pain to install recovery and flash (I also flashed quite early, when recovery was a hard thing to achieve)
- viper4android does not work.
For :
- I actually (despite the other users) experienced an increase in battery life. +25 to +30%.
- Smoother UI and phone.
- prettier UI and better navbar.
- Smoother auto dim
- better quick bar.
- drm restoration works. Better camera, sound (without viper) , screen.
- phone reset. It cleans it.
- some minor stuff

People won't complain if everything is alright.
This is like the glass breaking topic. People won't write their glass didn't broke by itself during the night.

Create your own ftf to restore. This can be rapidly done. Also double check xperifirm.
This thing is just amazing. Wasn't really sure with the direction Oneplus was heading with OOS 3.5, mainly because of dark theme not being pitch black anymore. They fixed that and all other bugs in 3.5.1.
I liked how they fixed stock android's achilles heel i.e the lag in stock messanger and contacts card pull up, both of the features you can't get away without using dozens of times daily. People will complain they're moving away from stock but I'll argue google has been lazy in improving messanger and contacts performance. I tend to have a 6p and 5x aswell. All that with the SOT of 6+ hours. Unbelievable work from Oneplus.
But now with 3.5.2, they've thrown it out of the park. It's so freaking perfect it's almost boring. How can these guys be so freaking good at this optimization thing. It's IOSque performance wise. I wouldn't even root the current build. Well, probably will to set the sRGB white less warm but I can't believe how good this software is. It's aesthetically neat and beautiful too.
sounds a bit TGTBT. can someone else confirm?
Just flashed it last night and certainly it is more stable and fluid than the last build. The Dialer app and Messaging app are really fast and just pull up in a flick. I am running all stock and battery life is extremely great. No more Android system drain and the doze mode works really cool. Overall a nice build that i really like over the 3.2.4 stable.

I agree it is too early to comment but based on last beta build, it started showing drainage symptoms within few hours of flashing. It has been more than 14hrs since flash and so far it is running awesome.

Well yeah, FWIW it is a good upgrade nevertheless. Not sure if its a placebo, but I do see an improvment in dialer launching speed.
Shame they didn't yet improve the accent color options though. Simply hate the color palette they've provided right now.. wish they add a color picker in the next build atleast.

P.S. Can someone confirm if this is OP OTA update or community build?

this is community build update. try flashing 3.2.5, its a factory version and people are saying it resolved all their issue they had with 3.2.4. i personally didnt had any issues with 3.2.4 but still i flashed 3.2.5 and it seems a bit smoother and battery life also seems a bit better.
so what should I do now?

Would be nice if people were to post screenshots of the new update. I honestly prefer HOS new beta way over HOS CB, it has the best of both worlds and until I see some screens showing more improvement, i'm not interested. Don't like what they did with shelf and the notification shade. Shelf looks like a straight up iOS rip, and the notification shade doesn't even look like Nougat shade.
I'm going to be honest, they should stop the builds all together (no merger) and just work on a completely new rom based on Nougat.

I'm going to be honest, they should stop the builds all together (no merger) and just work on a completely new rom based on Nougat.

Any links for HOS beta you are referring to?
I'm still around, checking this forum from time to time. Looks like its all dead.
I wondered if there is anyone out there still using this phone daily, like me.
If there is anyone, please share your ROM info too. Which ROM is the best for your liking?
I'm still using X-Los13_p880-ufoFFICIAL-201904CVE--1c6ea70874 since 01-2020.
Yep. I'm still around, too. And checking from time to time, too.
But, in the last years all is going veeery silent. That's not surprising, i guess.
My 4X HD is already in daily use, too... and i am using X-Los13 201711 (last version with QR).
Alternative is AOSP Nougat 7.1.2 or CM13/MM 6.0.1 quite good (if you don't need QR).
But... i see, you already know that!
PS: My secret favorite was always SlimKAT 4.4.4 build 9 (after Rom, install the Cyodak-X3-Kernel (!)).

Wow! Thanks for the reply.
Devs were active at the peak of Kitkat era so our device has a wide variety of KitKat based roms. I've tried many rom+kernel combination back in the day. Now 4.4.4 become completely obsolete for me as some of my -must have- apps. forcing Android 5+.
I didn't try Slimkat 4.4.4 build 9 with Cyodak X3 though. I'll try it sometime for fun!
Latest CM13 is a performance monster. If I remember correct, it also has codec tweaks too. Allowing for better bitrate video recording and/or stereo sound on recorded videos. Main drawback is unstable.
AOSP 7.1.2 is the highest Android version available for our device but it's dull AOSP.
@oF2pks 's Linage is like a balanced medium. Performance is good and it's very stable for daily use. 30+ days runtime without rebooting is almost always possible.
Do you have any GPS related issues?

Sorry for my very, very my late response.
Sometimes, i use my P880 vicarious for Navigation (or for Geo-Caching) and i had never problems with GPS.
Works fine for me.
I agree with you. But with X-LOS13 i noticed that when there are more and more apps on the smartphone, booting takes longer and longer (like 5 minutes) and also generally slows down. To counteract this, i've started sorting out apps that shouldn't be booted with a reboot (i.e. only run if you open them by yourself). With this I could e.g. reduce the boot time to 3 minutes. The disadvantage, however, it takes longer to start the app (because its not preset in RAM by booting).
PS: I loved SlimKat 4.4.4. Unfortunately, there are no new apps backwards compatible (SDK/API20).

I had to re-flash LOS13 several times from this reason too.
The last time however, I needed QR code so I flashed Euphoria 5.1.1 latest 20160208 and still using it.
Raised the max. CPU freq. to 1700 too. No signs of slow down yet.
Hi! Good to see some activity!
I want to repair my old LG. The screen and touch are trashed and the battery is puffed. I found an almost free screen with LCD and battery and I'll repair it.
I remember I tried so many ROMs in this phone... The best performer was the Mourta's 4.4.4, but the battery consuption was bad. I ended up flashing the stock firmware 4.1.2, but it was still usable back in the day. Today is useless.
Just booted my P880
