Have Orange UK shelved the HTC Touch Diamond?

Hi All,
I got my Touch Diamond from Orange 2 weeks ago and a mate at work liked it so much he wanted one. His contract with orange was due for renewal yesterday so he asked for the touch diamond as a upgrade. They told him the Touch Diamond was not available has it has been shelved or put into quaratine were the words they used because of software issues.
I've just rung orange myself if its true and customer care could not answer the question or if it was getting recalled, nobody had heard about it in the call centre.
I told them HTC had released a new ROM for it but i could not download it because my phone was bought from orange and i must wait for the orange update. I asked if it would affect my warrenty if i downloaded the official HTC ROM update they said it may affect the 6 month orange warrenty but not the 12 month HTC warrenty you have.
Has anyone else heard if orange have shelved the phone?
Thanks,
Mick.
Its still on their web site!!

Sounds like the opeerative has mis-understood the situation to me.
They are having problems putting the Orange Bastardware on it. It sounds like it is this process that has been shelved, rather than the phone itself. Orange would love the phone to be branded to buggery, but as they can't they are having to release them with a stock HTC ROM on them. Get your friend to try again - if necessary speak speak to someone higher in authority.
Alternatively get him to upgrade via their website.
If the phone has been shelved then it shouldn't be available on their website, yet it is.
Thanks Teppic i'll tell him to try that.
I still don't know what ROM to try or if i should wait for orange ROM. If i tried one of the ROMS on this site and something went wrong with the phone in the future, would i still be able to put the original ROM back on?
A email from a friend that works for Orange retail, suggested that he has 30 for sale in his store.
With regards to Flashing back to orange ROM and SPL (this is possible) but in past experiance, if you have ornage care, then I would not bother... I returned many a Orange branded Nokia or HTC with no comeback

Stock TMOUS HD7 ROM for warranty

Hi,
Background
I had issues with the back button and the home(windows) button not functioning on my HD7 (brand new, bought off craigslist though). I tried to reset the phone a couple of times, roll it back to pre-nodo, flash a custom rom "by ansar" and nothing worked. the back button and the home button still don't function, or they're very glitchy.
Question
How do i flash my HD7 back to the original stock rom that was shipped with TMOUS version?? More importantly, where can I find this ROM/RADIO? I need to send for warranty repair and I dont want them to refuse service based on the fact that I installed a ROM from XDA.
Thanks,
Yuvan
*bump* help needed to
For stock T mobile USA follow this link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=876451
It will be the second one from the bottom. (9.1 BR)
Also try (9.2 BR) to see if it fixes ur problem its the lastest ROM for the T mobile HTC HD7
thanks. I will try both of them, but I believe I loaded one of them already with no luck. If these fail, I should be able to send for warranty repair with these ROMS without encountering issues for tampering?
Update: so, none of the roms fixed my button issues I have to send this stupid **** in for repair now. I'm disappointed with HTC and TMOBILE service to get this fixed. I wish they would have given me a loaner. I just got this phone too, but off craigslist (brand new though). grrr

HTC does advance device replacements. Ask about it when u call them. They will send u a replacement phone then u send your phone in, and if they verify your phone is damaged, you're done.

Thanks for the suggestion. I just called them and they told me that they don't have advanced device replacement program for the HD7. I'm going to send my device in tomorrow. I'm using a friends International HD2, which gets only Edge on TMobile US. I've purchased 6 or 7 HTC devices in the past 4 years. If they end up making excuses for repair or replacement, goodbye HTC, hello Nokia!!

[Q] Camera Won't Focus in Dark - How Do I Return?

I've tried to take photo's in the dark today and realised my HTC One just can't do it. A bit of googling tells me quite a few people have had this issue, I'm sure I've seen somewhere that HTC have admited some devices have focusing issues.
I bought this One second hand though. I have all the paperwork, an O2 upgrade.
Can I wander into an O2 shop and ask them to return it for repair? Will they care it's not my name on the paperwork?
Also, the previous owner paid to have it unlocked from O2. If I return it, I assume I'll get back a locked device and I'll have to pay to have it unlocked again?

[Q] Sending my phone in for repair under warranty

Hi,
So about a few months ago I noticed that whenever I took pictures on my phone's camera in dark lighting, there is some purple-ish tint throughout the whole image, most noticeably around some of the edges of the photo. I had heard about the purple tint problem in the HTC One, but never thought it could occur in the Butterfly S! Silly me thought it was maybe a firmware problem and that it might just fix itself, but recently I read that no, it is indeed a hardware problem. I definitely want to get this fixed.
My question is how do I go about sending my phone in through warranty? I live in the US but I bought my phone in Asia (since the phone was never available here). Can I just call the HTC center in the US and will they know about the phone and be able to fix it? Or will I have to go through the hassle of sending the phone all the way back to where I bought it from?
Thank you.
You'll need to ship it in and also pay a 20$ Global Warranty Fee since it's a Taiwan-only device (I'm told the same thing applies if you repair it in Taiwan or wherever you purchased it. Repair takes around 2 weeks. Important to note that the warranty is from manufacture date otherwise you will need to show them proof of purchase.
I'm currently considering this for my headphone jack problem as well.

This problem is hardware related and unfortunately it will get worse over time. Replacing the camera sensor is the best solution. However if youu don't want to send your phone for repair, there is a couple of threads in the general section with some tips how to deal with this issue.
good luck

I talked to a Rep about a different issue and brought up the infamous camera issue. HTC support supervisors (HTC North America at least) have instructed their employees to accept camera warranty claims even for phones out of the warranty period. This means if you get the purple tint and you are out of warranty, you can still send it in!
So if it gets worse and you can't stand it, you don't need to worry about it being out of warranty. Camera is the one issue with the phone HTC will fix no matter what. (If they detect it has been rooted before, you may get charged for a new main board, as it is against their policy to send the modified board back)

About the part of rooting. First my story. I am now happily using my 5th HTC One M7. I had to send it in 4 times. 3 times because of a purple camera and once because of a restarting issue. I got a replacement 4 times. It was rooted and S-Off'ed every time
Only thing I did everytime is to unroot and get it back to stock. No S-on. They could detect it, I used the official website to unlock the bootloader. And I am sure they detected it.
So yeah, it might be against their policy, but I got anyways a new phone 4 times.
I've called HTC for 2 years about purple issues and all I get is someone that doesn't speak English..... Please HTC email me [email protected]
