Does anyone have new news about official cyanogenmod for galaxy mini???
is there gonna be official cyanogenmod for galaxy mini???
I don't have any news, but official means nothing special I think..source merged so our mini's source will be automatically updated....and some1 has to just compile it n give us a link to download. Think the official part does just that.
It's not going to be built again.

So? How long will it takes?

Hopefully all bugs should be fixed in the official version.
Yes, you guyz are right... All known bugs will be fixed in official version. Also, now the developers at the cyanogen team will take care of the upgrading our code and then provide cm7 for download to flash in our rom... Our device support is included in one of the nightly build (and all releases after that too.). But don't know when will they release a stable build. Maybe within a month or two --not sure--............
Let's wait and see!!!
so after one month I'm asking myself the same question...does anyone have news about official cyanogenmod? they seem to have forgotten about us...
Maybe they will provide official version for CM9 !!

yeah. I hope that too...
I don't think there is going to be official build.
They can only do that when they have the device..tj's source was merged so the changes could be synced automatically.
But now they are working on cm9 so it's back to square one.
Official or not it doesn't matter..even official build have bugs.
If it's official u won't have the extra features that squadzone's cm7 has.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
Squad's one is a release candidate, which means that is candidate to be an official release...I think that it will be official, but the team will work on it only after cm9 release for the other devices...
Is it right?

I think you should ask either CyanogenMod team or squadzone himself.
Being official doesn't necessarily mean it's bug-free.

You are right for the most part, however the saying you can't get extra features squadzone's cm7 has is not totally correct.
Squadzone himself is a member of team hacksung (which is Cyanogen depart. for Samsung devices -according to squad). So, you can consider his releases as nightly build for official CM7. Also, squad is only building rom from cm7 source code which is now merged with our's too whenever it is updated (and it is done daily) for other devices. So, basically it means all these features are from official rom and you could get them even if the rom was released by somebody else.
The one benefit of being official is that our cm7 source code is updated by CM Team members so we can also get all the new features when squad zone compile and release the builds.
@yagya
U mean the center clock and similar stuffs are there on official builds?
Afaik those are added by squad/teamhacksung and devs as per their wish and not a part of the official builds.

You can see his work here

Btw tj's work you can also see squad's contributions in source.

And seeing the post dates I see that tj's still updating/modifying the source.

what i meant was this(may not have been clear) :
firstly some dev does some mod.
secondly others use it, if good then it is submitted to gerrit.
thirdly it is reviewed, merged and becomes official.
yes. i totally understand...was just looking at it.
but some are not agreeing to it...looks like it'll take time for all of them to be merged.
I don't know, may be it's will come soon

I've read about this beta 4 on its original thread, and looks like everything is really works.
but where's the download link?
Really eager to try it.
So, as i understand - games performance in ICS will be same as in Gingerbread?

kernel 3.0
Hi,
I wanted to know from the developers wether this is based on kernel 2.6.x or on kernel 3.x
I ask this beacuse I'm aware that it is not possible to compile the linux 3.x kernel for the armv6 architecture, but googling around I found that a patch has been created for the raspberry pi motherboard (which too integrates an armv6-compatible processor)
Here are some links:
SORRY BUT I CAN'T PUT EXTERNAL LINKS YET
(just google "Linux Kernel 3.1.9 for Raspberry Pi Released & Build Instructions")
Allright, the android kernel is highly customised, though, who knows, maybe this could help us galaxy mini users too!!
Maclaw is going to upload Beta4 today. Hope to use a stable Cm9.
Sorry, my English is not good
Please redirect to this thread.

Yes, you read that right! With the project cyano plus we will try to port the cyanogen mod 10 on our device (GT-S5570I).
As you may know many devices have hardware libraries updated to support the cyanogen mod, many, but our...... we have always said: Why the Galaxy Mini because galaxy mini has the cyanogen mod and we don't? Why the galaxy mini has a different chipset from our although the indirect predecessor of our device?
So, why port bring a cyanogen mod on our device? Impossible?? So why not create a rom that has the same motto of cyanogen mod: to be an alternative to the stock rom! For now, the project is limited to a stock-based rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2171934
but with your help we can go a long way....

In fact need not porting. In fact need to build CM-10* for you device from source.
I build 4.2.2 for galaxy mini but this device have different board.

MaclawStudio just takes psyke83's work and again saying it's his. What a tool - same for everything else - taken from androidarmv6. And people still download his builds. Pathetic. Then keeps everything closed source (even the kernel, lol) so nobody can see that. x) Just haven't got enough words to describe this "developer"
i dont care if its stolen, remaked, rearanged, modified, etc...the truth is gonna come along with punishment (sound like Jehova whitness), as long as this 3 kernel works...
I don't know if you're aware of that, but erikcas is working on it since the day psyke83 ported it. He never brags about it. The problem is that Ace/Gio/Mini/Fit uses closed source FSR drivers which don't work on 3.x kernel (yet)

So it is not necessary to port kernel since Erikcas already is working on it right?
Erikcas has been working on it for months. Galaxy 5 uses older FSR drivers which have open source package or SDK, not sure. The problem is that Mini/Ace/Gio/Fit uses newer version and that open source package is not working.

Yes

Just shut up! Maclaw offered us more stable builds than you or other devs ever did! Show a little respect and stop denigrating him because he did a better job than you!
I really hope Maclaw won't release 3.x kernel sources so you won't steal his work and port it to other phones.
__________________________________________________
And one another important thing! How can you tell us he stoke psyke83's work? From where do you know? Have you got any proofs? How can you just speak like that? Again, just shut up - like a romanian proverb says: If you would shut up, you would remained a philosopher...

News flash bro ....Ever tried erikcas's builds please do if you didn't they are the most stable ones available.
also maclaw can/most likely isnt working on a source port for ace/gio but the truth of the matter is that would be sheer waste of time.Psyke83 already did the work, erikcas and wayland ace ported it to gio and ace respectively(they added their defconfigs and nessary parts) so it would be foolish of maclaw to start from scratch.
Also lets clarify he may/most likely is Kanging erikcas , wayland ace and psyke83 's work but since its open to all to build its not actually stealing(provided he gives credit but thats just good manners).
also the fsr module is a proprietary module(source code is not available) the one that psyke83 is using was leaked via a galaxy5 eclair kernel sources and still contained proprietary blobs(possibly that's the problem area).
Erikcas spent about what 3-4 months 14 hrs a day on the kernel trying all permutations and combinations but was not successful so ....you realize if i show doubt to maclaws possiblity of fixing it(nonetheless miracles happen).
PS reported you.(for starting a possible flame war).
PPS also maclaw still breaks the gpl by distributiing a closed source kernel based on opensourced resources(its still linux).

COOL STORY BRO
*click*
BTW. Maybe you don't know but our sources are here: https://github.com/MaclawStudio/aosp_kernel
Also the fact that maclaw asked for donations to buy a galaxy mini....
many people trusted him and donated..
and when there was enough he betrayed by stopping development and not using the money what it was meant for ...
most people argue that he promised but as always there is no proof or a written agreement or contract and thus the money donated with trust of further development of various development was pocketed...
I am not blaming or accusing anyone of anything but just stating the facts that i know..

Maclaw told me that nobody has donated.
and you believed?
anyway lets stop the discussion right here...
if maclaw comes back for development i dont have any problems...
he is welcome anytime
Please, stop this stupid arguing.
I know a lot of people hates me here, I don't care.
Just relax, let every developer like erikcas, TheWhisp etc. do their bests without fighting.
Maybe our device sources are closed, but we've to share kernel sources. If we do 3.x kernel, we'll have to share sources aswell.
Erickas will make 3.x? Great, every Samsung device with msm7x27 will be able to use it with mention that it's ported by him.
We will make 3.x? Great, as up. We must to share kernel sources when we release it.
What a difference?

if the beta 5 has been release lets try to jump to cm10 because cm9 general bug is the camera right
No. In Beta 5 the audio bugs are still not fixed, so calling, listening to music via earphones don't work.
Without audio our phones are pretty much useless (apart from sms).
Also, the libraries Broadcom supplied us are only the HW libraries for video. And these libraries cannot be ported to CM10. Hence, if CM10 development is started, it will be extremely buggy, or it might not boot at all.
It's best to just wait for CM9.1 to be stable first.
Biel must have supplied androidarmv6 with his sources
If he did expect cm 10- 10.2 may 11 they work together as a team and they face that proplems before with orignal cooper and tass
Guys, While CM9.1 won't be stable we won't have CM10. But ivchek make CM10 based CM9.1 Alpha 1. It was buggy, phone reboots every 3 minutes. Only touch were working.
