So the back of my new one is a bit dirty already, and a normal cloth can't really get rid of it. Should I use a wipe or something or would is there a better way?

I would think denatured alcohol would be fine since it's metal (aluminum). I haven't used it on my phone, but it's safe to use on aluminum.
Windex would probably work too
Alright I'll give those a try, thanks!

Water would be the safest on a soft cloth. Always start with the solution that has the minimal chance of ruining your phone and work your way up from there until you get the result you are looking for.
Common sense also works great.

I didn't believe those that said smudges would be problem on this phone, but it definitely is. To top it off, grit is stuck in some of my speaker holes and I've no idea of how to get it out. It sticks out like a sore thumb when the phone is clean...

Damn that sucks mine has stayed clean for the most part, I don't know what I would do either if mine got like that..The speaker holes are sooo tiny very difficult to get clean..

I have a xtreme full body kit on mine. Completely clear and has 100% clarity. You can't tell there is anything on the front or back. Takes a simple wipe of the phone with a cloth and it shines like new. No case needed.

I just installed xtremegaurd front and back. U can definately tell it's there(as far as the feel). I'm thinking about taking the screen protector off. The back I will leave because I am waiting on my atmosphere case which has a clear back to it so I still can see the back and not worry about debris getting behind and rubbing on the anodization.

I use face unlock and seems every time I talk on the phone and often just taking it out of my pocket, the front lens is smudged pretty badly. I'm wiping it off a few times a day. Never had this problem with my Evo 3D.
Anyone have any clever ideas to reduce the smudging? Maybe some kind of protective cover that won't ruin pictures?

This sounds really stupid, but how are you putting your phone into your pocket? The fabric of your pocket isn't exactly thick, and sweat and grime from your body easily winds up all over anything inside of your pocket.
I bicycle a lot on campus, so I found that the easiest thing to do was to make sure my phone always went in with the screen facing out. That alone saved a lot of wiping.
It's more of a problem after a call but not always. I try to keep screen facing out in my pocket. But this is a good point too.

So I just got my phone back from repair for a broken screen. The repair totaled 189.99. I was however quite surprised that they seemed to replace the entire outer body of the phone. The back was scratched and the speaker bezels had a few nicks in them. All was replaced and my phone now actually has the magical zero gap shiz they talk about. I know its still my phone cause the serial is the same and it came back with ViperRom still on it. Just wanted to share my experience.

Just wonder if they put a new shell on it because they messed it up taking the old one off? Good deal though, you got your screen fixed and new shell.

Yes, I'd be curious of which facility was it sent to, also?
And may I ask the OP, did you send it from somewhere in the US?
Sent from my (M7WLS) HTC ONE.
I sent my phone to Houston, TX and it came back with scratches on the back and a bad power button. The gap was worsened.
Still my phone, probably a new back though.

Guys my rose gold - white gear getting dirty. White is darken, Grey spots via dust maybe my shirts fabric color etc. Idk.. Its very dirty and darken white now..
How can i clean and whiten that? Ps: Water, soap, dishes soap, dont work..
I have exactly the same issue. I'm not sure it is dirt and fear it may be a reaction to the UV light as noting will shift it and one strap (the one with camera) is significantly more discolour than the other, which happens to be the side that faces out more. I have contacted Samsung and its going in tomorrow, I'm expecting that they'll replace the strap as it is almost a disgrace to wear now after only about 6 weeks. I can let you know how that goes if its useful? My main worry is they'll replace it and it just happens again
Try chlorox cleanup wipes

Yes paul if Sammy replace it new one, probably it will happen again..
There is not chlorox any store in my country motive.
I wonder pure alcohol does damage to gear's strap

Note quite the same maybe, and bad news, but I had the White Ice Nike Fuel band and ended up trading it in for a Black Ice model, due to "dirt" and discoloration. Since I am in business, I opted for the black on black Gear, but I did get the white Note 3, since you can replace the back cover easily if it was to happen to that. Good luck sir with a fix.
It should be fine with chlorine.

What a shame, I was about to buy one white Gear while I stomped up with this thread.
I have a white Note 3 too to match. Should I still buy the white gear? What do you think?
Thanks

It seems like this is a common issue with no other fix that I can find besides taking it to Sprint. I will post if I find any additional solutions.
Found a fix by searching Google and it really
worked, a drop of water and scrape the lens with the corner of a credit card.

Mine got foggy too. Keep mine in a case and in my front pocket without anything else. Still got all scratched up. Read HTC has put a coating on the lenses for what ever reason.
I placed a small dab of toothpaste with an even smaller dab of water and rubbed on the lens very lightly. First time almost got it 100%, second time did it. Pulled the coating off nicely. Pictures are really clear again.
I've also read rubbing alcohol and Q-tips will do the trick.
Sweet I'm not crazy then it does have a coating on it
