Open gear manager and under notifications make sure all the boxes are still checked. Sometimes my boxes mysteriously become unchecked.

So my wife and I both got Thrills the day they were released. Only a couple weeks after getting them my wife started having trouble receiving MMS's. Even with the "auto-download" setting enabled MMS's stopped auto-downloading and if she pushed download it would just say "downloading" and never download until she rebooted her phone. Mine was working fine so I didn't pay too much attention. I kinda figured it was cause she messages a hell of a lot more than me and it might be a glitch there. One day I started having the same problem so I assumed I had reached the number of MMSs that she had when she started having the problem. So I deleted all my text messages in the messaging app. So she sends me an MMS today and same thing, didn't auto-download, won't download when I click the button. I refuse to reboot my phone for everything. Anyone else having this problem? Know whats going on? Have a fix that doesn't require root or a new rom?

Had the same issue when I got my Thrill, I had to edit a setting. I forget what it was.....another thing that's stopped my MMS is having a **** load of Message in my inbox that aren't deleted.
Go t settings and set up auto delete, clear cache, & change what you please, after that report back in a day

Clear cache? In message settings? I actually deleted all my texts and still have this problem. I never set up auto delete on mine but I did my wife's. Either way it still happened to both of us. This "clear cache" sounds like a winner. I wonder if the pics get downloaded but just don't show up in the app. The next time it happens I'm gonna search the folder with ES and see if it's there.
Let me preface this by saying that I have not read the manual for the Gear and I am currently sitting with my sick wife in the hospital.
Ok, I have been playing around with the gear for the past couple of days. The first issue I had was that the contact pics from my phone was not showing up on the watch. I went to Best Buy and spoke with Galaxy rep and was told that feature doesn't work. REALLY??? Because they have been really pushing that on tv. Needless to say, I found out that was not true. It does indeed work, but apparently is limited by the photo size. Does anyone know what the specs are for a contact pic to show up?
Second issue is that I installed the new version of gear manager. Unfortunately after the install the downloaded watch faces that I previously had don't show in my list to select. When I go to try to redownload them it's says that I already have them and to open them in gear manager. Any ideas...

1. I think all my contact pics work. Only seen them in phone (dialer) app though?. No particular size or anything
2. Uninstall old watchfaces and reinstall
I dont know what the hell is going on. The contact pics are showing up on the watch now at random. I uninstalled and reinstalled a couple of times. I am getting more frustrated with this damn software.
So I've had the gear 2 neo for about 2 weeks now and so far it's pretty good. Maybe I'm missing something, but one thing I'm not fond of is when I delete all my notifications (text messages) and as soon as a new one comes in...it brings back all the old ones I deleted. I've tried several things. I've deleted them all and then disconnected it from my phone, didn't work...still came back. I tried deleting messages from inside my phone, thinking maybe it's pulling them from there. Nope. My only assumption is the gear itself has a temporary cache and it's not permanently deleting anything. So regardless if the message still resides on the phone or not, it still comes back on the gear. Am I wrong with this thought and has anyone else found a way to actually delete them all? Thanks

all I can think of is reset the gear back to defaults and clear app data for Samsung apps and try setting it up again.
Hi, every time I try removing apps via gear manager an error stating "Unfortunately, Gear Manager has stopped" I don't even get as far as selecting which ones to delete. I can literally click my apps, click the Bin symbol and it crashes and restarts gear manager
Has anyone else had this issue or know how to resolve it

Same problem here. Everything was fine until I ran the root gear 2. Was still able to get into 'My Apps' until I rebooted my phone (note 3, effortless custom ROM).
So far, I have uninstalled, reinstalled gear manager, re-paired gear 2 bluetooth, factory reset g2, etc.
Still no access. Still looking into it. Let me know if you figure something out..

No problem, sorry to hear you're having the same problem, mine occurred after putting a custom ROM on my phone, but then reverting back to stock, ever since, the only solution so far is to look to see if some of them can be removed under Application Manager which some can, but still leaves a lot of unused apps on my gear 2, which eventually will just fill up. Do you know if there's a way of looking through the files of the watch and simply deleting the .apk file and any other files that may be used? Thanks
reset

Reset what?
If you mean the actually reset the watch and phone then that doesn't work
If you mean factory reset then that may be the answer and thank you if it does work
However it would be nice to know the actual reason in the first place why this happened and not just a work around
Greetings,
Problem with my SM-N960U1. Last week I had to factory reset my phone. Also got a security update. Since then, When I get a SMS or email notifications, my screen does not wake up. It always has before. I get the sound & LED flashing but no screen wake up. I have wiped the cache partition, tried in safe mode with no success. Any ideas?

Thanks for the response. I tried that & it is already set correctly. This is also happening with the gmail & yahoo email apps. Nothing but incoming phone calls is waking the screen.

I always looked for a way to disable screen waking so can't help much if that didn't solve it for you :/
Maybe try this: https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5...cations-not-waking-up-screen/m-p/982962#M1807
I've used the app Glimpse on my S3 Mini years ago and it used to work, no clue if it works on new devices but worth the try.
It's just frustrating as it worked fine up until last week. Just checked the Note 8 I gave to my son & it works perfect.
