Hi,
I upgraded to 14.3.A.0.757 from .257 and eventually everything seemed to be ok. (Used the NUT method)
Upon going in Settings > Personalisation > I was expecting to see new 'Home' menu but I don't see it at all?
Have I screwed up somewhere? Is this a hidden option somewhere?
Sorry if this has been posted already
Ta
Its not in personalisation, its the option one below it.
Options I have are:-
Device
Personalisation
Call Settings
Sound
Display
Storage
Power Management
Apps
I think I'm missing home?
http://prntscr.com/39xxnz
I am currently on [NUT]s .757
Me too but I don't see that option?
Perhaps I should try again, I did notice my internal/external storage had all data still on it?

I do not have that too
Try flashing the .681 first
I cam from that, it may be a hangover from that version
True; although I've just flashed iHackers 4.1 and that has the home option there, very strange.
Think I'm gonna stick with this ROM for now so thanks for the help chaps!!
I don't have that option, if you install a launcher then it will appear(at least on my phone)
I haven't got it either and I went from. @Nut. 681 to. 757...
Install any launcher..u will now have home option in settings

Thread title kind of explains it. After unlocking my XperiaV's bootloader last night and flashing SpidaSingh's kernel (the version without recovery), I have a notification that I can't get rid of telling me that 9.0.1.D.0.10 is available, even though that's what I'm running and have been running since I OTA'd it a couple weeks ago. I've heard that really bad things can happen if I do an OTA with an unlocked bootloader, otherwise I would just let the update run. I'm new tuo Xperia, and I can't find a way in settings to not have it automatically look for updates, and of course I'm also a bit confused why it would want me to update the firmware that's already being reported in settings. Any suggestions? Thanks!

You can just delete the app which provides the information about the updates. You can use f.e. Anttek App Manager or Titanium Backup (both free on GP) and just delete the app.
I did the same on my Xperia T - nothing wrong happened, everything is fine

May I suggest you freeze the app instead, that's what I did, solves the problem yet should you want the app back or to receive the ota you can just unfreeze it

That's what I did, though actually the problem seems to have resolved itself after flashing a custom rom, go figure.

How to disable the power saver off in notification bar? Permanently preferred. That one is really annoying.
Thank you
If you long press it after dragging down notification bar, then click on 'App Info'.
Then click force stop it and it should disappear from notification menu. But I think when you reboot phone it will appear again unfortunately

Yes, I used this method, but the problem is it will appear once again when the battery is low no matter whether you reboot or not.

If you're rooted, you can use the JMZ Power Saver remover app from the Play store.
If you're unrooted, the Force Closed method is your only option at this time.
I read this was fixed with the latest 4.2.2 ROMs...

Just wait for the 4.2.2 update or flash a 4.2.2 rom.

I already root my device, and used a custom ROM. I will wait for 4.2.2. Thanks folks.

yea 4.2.2 solves this issue but since it just came out none of the custom roms have any of their mods and changes incorporated so like most people i'm probably going to wait until i can flash all my stuff over.
Hey all I need a bit of help, my XZ won't install apps from apk on the SD card.
The install from unknown sources is ticked, package installer opens but the install button won't work, the cancel button does!

Oh otherwise I would have sent u an update to 4.2.2 but u would need an pc. Anyway seems strange. What exactly happens when u try to install an apk? Try taking the sd card out. Try downloading the apk u wanna install on to the phone without the sd card. Then try installing it. Let me know if that works.

Using explorer I go to the file, tap on it package installer comes up, tap install, installer opens with app details and permissions, try to tap install but the button doesn't highlight it's been pressed, nothing happens. Cancel button works fine

Could be an application you already installed is doing this.
Remove the apps one by one and try again.

If you have a screen related app like screen filter or voodoo colour filter, uninstall it.

Clear data for the Media Storage app:
Settings > Applications > Manage Apps > All
Scroll down to Media Storage
Select clear data
Try and install your apk.
If it still doesn't work, do the same for Package Installer.

Ok cleared data for Media Storage, no effect.
Cleared data for Package Installer, no effect.
Cleared data for a bunch of other apps with no effect other than losing all my ringtones and notification sounds
Unless I can figure out whats stopping the installation of apps from apk's i just might have to factory reset and start again to see which app it is thats causing these issues.
Thanks all for your help so far!
Ok guys thank you to everyone for helping me. I feel so freakin stupid right now... and rightly so.
I realised that "LUX" auto brightness app was the issue. head slap. Didnt even think of it as a screen related app. Another head slap.
I had stupidly deleted all the apps that trigger sleep mode in Lux's settings ... added package installer back to the list and everything works fine now.
Again a huge thank you to you all for helping and a big sorry for my stupidity.

Hy everyone! I am very satisfied with my phone but I have one small problem.. When I download a new app the phone, or I am in the process of installing, the phone get very laggy for a couple of seconds and the apps on my home screen reload. They disappear and reappear in a second or two. Why is that happening? Also when I go into apps or widgets it gets a bit laggish when scrolling around.. Is that normaln for a stock ROM? I`m on stock JB,rooted.. And I did a factory reset after update to JB and manually installed all the apps..

Rolling back is not an option.. Do you have a ROM or kernel to recommend?
It's normal; the homescreen is just refreshing so it displays the shortcut for the app. (it auto-places one on install)
And about the lag, download "Advanced Task Killer" and kill the apps/processes, or use the stock one. ("Task Manager")

The task manager won't get you anywhere. Android handles processes not like crappy windows and the task manager thing is unnecessary as hell. Search for it.
For the rom/ kernel thing try it out yourself . There are many good and stable ROMs on here.

Hello! I am rooted and i have the latest kk update for the z1 by nut. I have noticed, that i hear sounds from my phone at very slow speed and sometimes very fast. Also people complain to me that there are gapps in the conversation, where i dont talk, but i always reply instantly after the other person... Any idea why could this be happening? Any possible fix? Thank you!
You need to change the baseband package. Jus download any other ftf file and from that remove top 3 clicks and then jus untick the system from bottom list

Hi mate I'm currently on NUT 681 LB with Rooted and I;m from Singapore.Just curious is there any issue if I just flash the baseband of my regent ftf?Sorry for the noob question,What does baseband mean?
There's an option in settings/call settings "slow talk", just uncheck it
you flash the baseband through flashtool, it talks fast as well as slow so i dont think its slow talk
My issue persists. I have flashed a new baseband from a different ftf. I used the Central Europe one, looked good for a bit, but now i have noticed people talking slowly again...
Edit: Actually, the settings thingy got it working again... So sorry for the big fuss
