Well I'm on T-Mobile 4g unlimited data plan

Seriously, dude? An extremely quick Google search would give you the answer.
For starters, the AT-T version of the Note will not natively let you use T-Mobile, period. DUH! You can easily hack it to unlock it...and within the last week, someone discovered that flashing a modem file from another phone allows you full access to T-Mobile's 3G/4G network. The International Note (GT-N7000) will only allow you access to EDGE speeds on T-Mobile...what I'm on now.
So, it's your choice.

I know I read about all what u said, but hows your edge on T-Mobile?
I was just wanting peoples feedback I've read the unlocked international is way faster then at&ts version but of course I'd unlock the att phone
Sent from my SGH-T989 using XDA
How's my EDGE? ****ing slow! You won't ever pull more than 200kbps or so down at peak...that's EDGE by default though. It's a completely asinine thing to even have EDGE networks anymore. It's ever more asinine that T-Mobile is so slow at "re-farming" their 1900 band to work with 3G. I tried switching to Straight Talk, but I just got an email today actually that they can't verify my information? :-/
So if speed is a concern to you...go with the AT-T version. Though, you'll miss out on all the tremendous development here...which I think is more important than speed.
Edit: I've done speed test, where it's slower than 28.8k dial-up, and it brings back terrible childhood memories.

T-Mobile does not have LTE yet...and no this phone will never be capable of LTE. Who cares though? You honestly want a phone that can download at 343455MBPS and eat through your costly data plan in half an hour? You won't be able to tell the difference loading a web page at 5MBPS vs 50MBPS...or how ever fast LTE is supposed to be. It's all a marketing scam, just like the notion of a "limited" supply of bandwidth that all mobile manufactures force feed people with their outrageous prices and stupid caps.

So would u get the international over the att I'm using tmobile4g 60 unlimited plan 2gb of 4g data then after 2g is used it goes to 2g per month or leave tmobile and try straight talk I'm not in a contract btw
Sent from my SGH-T989 using XDA
No contract? That's simple then! Straight Talk plus International...you get the best phone, and you don't have to go directly through AT-T...it's a win win! :-D
Trying to got Straight Talk myself, but they seem not to like the fact that I'm trying to use my T-Mobile number with an AT-T SIM...plus I have a 200 dollar contract cancellation fee. I wish I was in your boat.
As others have said, coming from Tmo myself, the choice is to get the international version with Straight Talk or the ATT version and keep T mobile. Honestly, I feel that this phone is a media hog and deserves LTE, as well as an unlimited plan.
Yes you will miss out on development, but if you are satisfied with the stock software then you will not miss much.
I had a feeling a while back while reading the i717 spec sheet that it would work with tmo, and decided to go with Straight Talk. Not a bad plan, but definitely on the slower end of 3G
I would honestly go with whatever comes out cheaper, if it does so by a margin of 100+ dollars
I got the att version In White cheaper than I could find a unlocked international black one, ordered a straight talk sim ill try this out If it sucks ill go unlock and do the T-Mobile hack. I really would of got the international by couldn't find a white one at a good price. I hope I don't regret it looks as the development for the international unlocked is way ahead. My question is would straight talk on the international and att been the same speeds?

Just got back from Paris. There were H+ networks there which were blindingly fast on the International version. However, I was concerned about exceeding the 50MB usage per day on my Vodafone-IE PAYG SIM, so I stayed on GPRS (yes, GPRS, no EDGE there).
Incidentally, I had no trouble with PAYG SIM card usage. The biggest failing is that if you continue a session beyond midnight without logging off, it keeps you on the previous day's allowance. That actually worked to my advantage, doing the bigger downloads over the midnight hour, to fill the previous day's 50MB. Sigh. The joys of International Roaming.
But at least the Samsung N7000 was faultless. What an incredible phone. Rooted, and stripped to bare bones (but still with Touchwiz) I get less than 1% an hour battery usage. A full day of intermittent (normal) usage left me with 46% after 24 hours. Unbelievable. Why did I bother to buy a spare battery???

I love my n7000 its a fantastic phone alot of development its awesome. on tmobile I only get 2G speeds. since I love my N7000 ive tolerated it. I know a guy that on the April25th that is gonna get a BNIB One s and wants to trade. at first I was a little skeptical because of the snapdragon. after reading all the reviews and watching the videos, even with the snapdragon it seems like a pretty great phone. it would be great cause then I could actually get 4g. then again the screen is smaller not HD and no S pen. I thought about the one x but that would only be 2g too, im thinking hard what do you guys think?

If you love the Gnote and want T mobile LTE, you can buy the ATT version and then flash a a radio which supports T mobile 3g on it. The ATT Gnote (i717) is 550 without contract, and you should be able to get most of your money back if you sell your N7000. That way you still have your beloved Gnote, and it works on T mobile 3g (and 4g too)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1547114
Or you can do what I did and ditch Tmo and get straight talk. I did this coming from T mobile and knowing that the ATT Gnote would support the 1700 mhz band by reading spec sheets. As you may be able to tell, I decided to go with the international version.
Are you sure you aren't in an area that is getting 1900 mhz tmo 3g soon? Mostly west coast, midwest. (also philly).
I don't really see why you would trade someone your Gnote for the One. It's like in chess- if your opponent offers up a piece for an exchange, it is almost always not a good idea to go for it. It means that they have some reason that they want to trade with you.
Hmmm I may look into straight talk. I actually had the atet note before this one and switched to the n7000 cause its much better. So no atet note for me lol.

The Verge reports that Google has opted not to partner with any US carriers. Every Nexus 4 will be an unlocked device, and while that means no more pointless waiting for software updates (looking at you Verizon Galaxy Nexus), it also means no LTE radios.
The other small letdown is the phone's meager onboard storage options. The Nexus 4 starts at $299 with 8GB; $349 gets you 16GB

HSPA+ is fast enough.
Agreed.. but still $300 for an unlocked smartphone with those specs!!!!
You'd be stupid to pass up such a sweet deal! I'll gladly get over lte for that price
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
But this really concerns me the point of a quad-core when you don't have the storage to download more than 1-2 games that will utilize the specs? For example, most Gameloft and EA games that could use these specs are easily 1.8 gb or more. On an 8gb phone, unless you use cloud services, I'll cry within a few months for sure. I wish Google can ditch the idea of having only internal storage (Yeah !!! Like that's ever gonna happen but still) and come up with external storage like on the S3 and note 2 .. a 32gb MicroSD card for all my music, videos, camera pictures, files etc..
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
if I go with this I would use the USB OTG and stickmount app I use on my nexus 7. I've done pretty good using dropbox and a 16gb flash drive with my 8gb N7. Wondering if the photo sphere will be able to be ported to my Sprint SG3. And yeah 300 for a phone and no commitment is awesome.
Bummer. No LTE means a lost sale from me. Bandwidth is everything. Maps, directions, movie times, sports scores, traffic updates, email attachments... LTE.

I suspect most people's experience with 3G is limited to crappy Sprint and VZW's 3G networks. In that case, it could be a deal breaker.....1-2mb/s down is pathetic. Now, T-Mobile users have no issue as their "4G" network is very fast. Not sure about ATT's, but I think it is similar to T-Mobile's now.

Yeah you're probably right. CDMA 3g networks suck. The 3g gsm networks in the states are much better. As long as you have signal service of course.
I use a 3g tmobile and those speeds are enough. Not the higher speed 4g branded speeds either. The 7.2mbit HSDPA radio.
I agree that speed is good and all that. But I am really starting to get annoyed by people dropping LTE as nothing more than a buzzword.

Same here...I get like 5 down and 1.5-2 up on my 7.2 mbit radio so anything will be an upgrade. I suspect the Nexus 4 will top out around 10-12 down and the same 1.5-2 up on T-Mobile.

Bingo. The 3G service is deprecated and the apps are requesting more and more data. So when you initially said "none" you were completely wrong. For example, the WSDOT app I used now is updated, and slower than ever. It gets a GPS lock then just grinds forever trying to sync up the map and traffic advisory overlays. That's all data. Since I am paying for smartphone monthly usage, I am wasting money now by continuing with 3G. It makes zero sense to perpetuate paying for 3G service. It's not a buzzword when it's a significant upgrade in throughput, and it can be any other acronym and I'd use that just as much.
I still think google is off their rocker to "wait it out" as they put it. And the Maxx HD television advertisement says it can do voice and data at the same time, on Verizon... if true, that would be pretty huge for us Verizon folks and our terrible CDMA 3G access, going to LTE and simultaneous voice/data.
There is a difference between the gsm networks that the phone will actually run on and the CDMA /lte a Verizon or Sprint version would.
When people say I can't go without lte over att / T-Mobile networks for those tasks its rubbish to me.
Sure sprints and Verizon 3g is awful and I would never go back to them ( or have been on them in the first place) but we aren't comparing lte speeds to those. Its against the unlocked gsm networks.
Verizon network is great coverage wise. So is its lte speeds and coverage. Those are valid reasons to be with them and not switch.
But that I can't leave my lte speeds for a unlocked gsm phone because of the speed for the most basic smart phone tasks .is nonsense to me. That is what I am seeing more and more off. The omg I can't live without my lte /buzzword crap.
Based on the reviews that I've seen in the forums and reviews from tech sites it seems that the One has good not exceptional battery life.
Im in Canada and have international version ordered from Handtec so once I pop in my SIM I'll be on HSPA+ ......(not sure if it supports DC-HSPA like the Nexus 4)
That got me thinking ... If international HSPA version has good battery life then LTE version should probably suck !!:what:
I've seen that there's the option to turn off LTE on phone but then I don't understand the point of holding out for this version ??
I know there haven't been any reviews of LTE model but some feedback would be great .....

Well with lower latency and higher speeds, you tax the modem for a shorter period of time, hence the better battery life on LTE. Might seem miniscule at first, but apply the tiny savings to everything you do that uses data and it makes a difference. Or so I understood it from an explanation given on Anandtech. The HTC One should see the same benefits on LTE.

You aren't taking into account the completely different SoC. As for the iphome just read anandtech.
http://www.anandtech.com/show/6330/the-iphone-5-review/13
And I don't think the international i9300 is that much better in battery life to the LTE US model. They're also using two completely different SoC.
LTE is better for intensive use, 3G is better for standby. In general though the time saved by using LTE means that you come out on top even if the standby is higher.
But dude the chipsets aren't the same.

I don't even know what this means. The One, iPhone 5, Note 2, GS3 Exynos LTE, all GS4 phones, AT&T One X+, Xiaomi MI-2, Optimus G, Optimus G Pro, and Nexus 4 use MDM9x15, which is the same exact modem. Any differences will be on the digital to analog/analog side of the RF chain.

Interesting to note that phonedog did a review on the Sprint LTE version and says battery life is less than international version ...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vnN-iDcBhW8&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Most are saying the LTE is equivalent if not slightly better than the non-LTE battery life.
Traditionally US LTE networks are horrible for battery life. I've had plenty of devices and for 95% of the time I keep them in 3G (HSPA+ on at&t) because they perform better for battery life.
The LTE networks here are not as advanced and optimized very well so devices tend to have worse battery life.
I have the dev edition on order which I hope will be network selectable and not saddled with at&t's signal meter. The one x and one x+ would only allow network selection if, on a rooted and unlocked bootloader, the standard 3G/H+ signal meter mod was done.

The reason for the poor life is likely low signal quality in your area forcing your phone to constantly switch or look for better signal quality. Generally LTE (in a strong signal zone) will be excellent for your battery because it relies on faster transmission of data -- i.e. less duty cycles -- to complete the same task thus using less power. As I said earlier, it is much like 802.11ac standard now -- faster transmission, less time spent transmitting.
For CDMA/LTE devices, the power draw is due to having multiple radios on-board that need power. When VZW switches to an all-LTE phone by end of this year, it will be much better for their power draw.
Hi
I am looking for new tablet tab S2 9.7" (now I have note 10.1 wifi)
Which version is better to buy?
I am thinking about LTE but I read that LTE version has poor development from xda
I want to use this tablet for 2 years and I know that support for custom roms is very important
What do you think about it? And about support for LTE version?
Personally I'd get the LTE version. I have the wifi and it works and I do use hotapot with my device whilenim out frequently but just having it ready to go and not draining my phone battery is worth it enough. It only that but you get vibration in the lte model.

I have the LTE model, but there's not much point to it as I never use it.
I would need another sim card and data plan. It's just as easy to use my phone as a wifi Hotspot.
I like having the LTE option. I feel no need for custom ROMs. This tablet is not flawless but it's running rather well on Marshmallow.
