Finally scraped up the nerve to unlock my TF701 last night. Running Chromi-X with no issues. (Great experience so far!)
However -- once I sideloaded the Asus unlock tool and tried to unlock, I received the same misleading "internet connection" errors that others have reported. I swear, I hit the "unlock" button a hundred times in a row... no dice. Very frustrating!
As a last ditch effort, I connected my tablet to my phone (tethered over BT)... BOOM. First try!
It asked me for my Google credentials immediately, and I was unlocked. For some reason, the unlock tool didn't like my home WiFi connection?
So give that a shot if it helps.

Is anybody else having issues getting their 3 month free netflix promo code? I have been trying for 3 weeks since I got the phone. Their website says we are sorry we don't have your information. Today I got the manager on the phone and they tell me they tell me there is a database issue because they haven't gotten the information from verizon. I'm now on hold with verizon while they call Lg.
yeah i cant help been on netflix for 3 years, im sure its just some glitch that will get worked out
where do you get the code? I just got my revolution and I don't see it in the box or anything.
Same here...? I didn't know about it till I saw this thread

I'm not able to link it in yet.
shop.verizonwireless.com/?id=LGRevolution
Good luck I have yet been able to get mine. LG keeps blaming it on Verizon and Verizon says it isn't their fault that it is a database problem.
Next time I call them I am going to just offer to fix their database since they can't seem to figure it out.
I bought my Revolution on Sunday and signed up last night without a problem. I got the code right away on my laptop without a hitch and was surfing Netflix within 5 minutes of signing up. Not sure where you are trying to sign up at, but I went to this site and it worked perfectly..

Hope that helps you..

thanks I was starting to think I was the only one.
I finally was able to process my rebate code using my phone number and the date it was activated and not the date it was purchased. I bought it online so it was activated 2 days after I purchased it. It took over a month for it to work. LG customer service was supposed to call and let me know that it was fixed. Haven't heard from them.
worked for me also. Tried until I got the right date.
Wife wanted me to ask this about.her phone. When the phone is plugged in the touchscreen gets all wacky. She could be touching the bottom of the screen and register at the top. When she tries to scroll it will instead click on something. When she tries to bring down the notification bar it won't do it. If the phone isn't plugged in everything works as it should.
Might as well say it now she won't let me root the phone. Even though I know it would fix most of her issues. So its not an option. So any insight would be helpful.

Use a genuine Moto charger, and you should be fine.

I've found this is the case if you are using non-OEM chargers. I've tried a few that have come with cradles, etc, and the cheap ones mustn't be up to the job, and cause these erratic touchscreen problems.
Are you using a genuine Motorola charger? I've not had the problem with one of those.
Cheers,
Steve.
No she isn't using the moto charger that came with the phone. She's going to try that and see what it does. Thanks for the suggestion.

This morning my S5 auto updated itself without ANY of my intervention or approval. And by the time I realized it, it had already rebooted itself into recovery and was flashing itself. For those of us, like myself, who are pushing off the updates in hopes that an exploit will be found, this is a massive problem. I wiped it clean and returned it today for a full refund, as I bought it full price off-contract. I will be getting the Tmobile S5 and sim unlocking it. Screw you, AT&T.

Not that it's right, but you have to say fairly that you had likely declined the Auto-Update a few times of which each instance stays it for 4hrs(I'm sure it doesn't directly say it will do that).
I have been rigorously going into App Manager and stopping AT&T Auto-OTA update after any reboot. If you want to stop it from happening at night time then put the phone in U. Power Saving mode and it won't.
If any users have declined the Auto-Update it says on the AT&T site that after several denials and 4hr stays that it will reboot and auto update so your only course of action is what I'm submitting here. My solution so far has been to stop the AT&T Auto-Ota service that doesn't seem to auto wake itself other than on reboot and recently adding U. Power Saving Mode at night when I can't be attending.

OP made it clear, yes AT&T.

I accidentally hit the update button after it asked me 9432590 times to update, so I immediately pulled the battery out (one of the nice features of having a samsung phone) after it started to reboot. I put in back in, fired it up and got a message saying "The update process was interrupted and was unsuccessful" or something like that. I haven't been bothered by it since
I wouldn't recommend anyone trying this as it seems very likely that a chance of bricking your phone will result, but if you want to risk it, do it.
Once the update appears you're out of luck. I postponed it several times and woke up to the update already applied. In a few weeks I'm going to tell at&t to go to hell and switch over to TMO.

This is nothing new. It's been happening with the S4s for over a year now. Unfortunately root is needed to freeze the apps responsible for the updates. Turning off Wifi, while not using the phone, can help, but until root is achieved it's going to happen.
Depending how vigilant, U. Power Saving mode is the best non-root way to ward it off.

Me either, my only nag is the security policies and i just swipe it away and keep killing the AT&T OTA update process anytime i see it restart after a reboot. I only suggest U. Power Saving because it turns off all the radios etc while sleeping so 0% chance of a snake in the grass crawling in while you slumber.
Half of me is a little mad at myself for underestimating how much I'd miss root, I sold a perfectly good Loki compatible GS4 for this thing. The other half of me realizes this phone is great because it's locked down and i can configure it to 90% of what i want and still quite enjoy it. Coming to terms that the GS4 owners after Loki had to suffer this and are STILL to this day and that may be our inevitable situation.
It's funny how normal users are always waiting for the carrier updates and yet we're here hating on them and trying to find a way stop stop the updates. There are so many customers that ask me about the software updates on a daily basis.

I do know this , somehow my SE security was updated, then I choose to take the OTA, I was messing around with some root methods that didn't work(yet), but I did a factory reset and I was still on the new 2AND3 firmware but my SE update was not present anymore. It was the original out of box SE. Just an FYI

Well this is new to a lot including myself who never had the S4 and is coming straight from the S3. Not to mention the S3 bootloader wasnt locked. I had WiFi turned off and never even configured it since I got it. I am now back on my S3 until i can get to a T-Mobile store.

Yea, it really looks like the Tmobile phone is the only way to go for now.
Learning the hard way with my S4 when the auto update appeared yesterday I declined it all day. I woke up this morning to find that the update applied itself in my sleep at 130am. I can't believe this crap.

AT&T Auto OTA Update
What's even more ridiculous is that this OTA update was simply to add two additional bloatware apps, Lookout Security and Yellow Pages, which the mothership had agreed to provide, but failed to include in the release...sigh...
Will likely wait it out another month or two, but will seriously be looking at the T-Mobile or other rootable alternative!
I spent two hours with "AT&T CUSTOMER SERVICE" Wednesday night trying to get them to activate a brand new sim card I had them mail to me in November 2014. So if anything ever happened to my Nexus 6, like the charging port being so loose, that I had to have a wireless charging pad two days shipped to me, because my Nexus 6 wouldn't accept a charge anthing cable or chargers. I tried over a dozen. Two hours and they were unsuccessful. They have my att. net email account wrong that I have had for almost 6 years wrong. So she couldn't email me the pin verification. I spent four hours yesterday at a friend's house using their cell phone, landline and computer, had my real att. net email address open and went through four different agents that for one reason or another could not get that sim card verified or the last guy said "he wasn't going to risk his job and my security, (lol), and activate my sim card when my sim card number isn't even close to the number the same unused brand new sim card AT&T sent me in November, so I could switch back to my Samsung Galaxy S4.
I got the same girl that tried to help me by using her cell, her new Samsung tablet for the first two hours with customer service drive me to another an AT&T Store, a 60 MILE ROUND TRIP. I walked in told the manager about the six hours of the frustrating unsuccessful attempts to get this S4 activated. He took the back off, popped the battery out, scanned the IMEI, put the battery in it, put the back on and handed it back to me in about two minutes and powered it up and said that it should work now. It did. I told him that I bet you could train two monkeys to activate sim cards, it's not THAT complicated. I used to switch cells back and forth all the time years ago on Verizon. Why doesn't AT&T have a set up like that? That works?
I need to send it back to Motorola, so they can send me a brand NEW Nexus 6, instead of AT&T sending me a refurbished replacement that I am paying $750.00 for? A cell that now sells for less than half what I am paying for this one.
Sorry for the long post. Thanks for any help or answers in advance.
From what I have read you can't flash a zip of the factory image and make TWRP and SuperSU and Busybox without being able to connect Nexus 6 to a computer using a usb cord.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
nope. the only real way to "unroot" is to flash a factory image, make sure that you boot, then lock your bootloader.

So, I take Motorola will flip out when I send this cell that AT&T was told by Motorola that the first shipments of AT&T Nexus, 6's were defective from the factory. Of course AT&T did not tell their customers that they were notified by Motorola.

great
So for the past month probably longer I have been dealing with bizarre WiFi issues. I went back to stock unrooted and relocked bootloader that fixed nothing. I've tried at least 5 different wifis with no change. PROBLEMS 1.Whenever I'm on WiFi I do not receive any notifications except SMS. 2. When I have WiFi on everything loads really slow and on social media apps etc pictures don't load at all.
Any ideas or suggestions?

1. If you use WiFi repeaters? Switch off.
2. Reset your wifi router from time to time.
3. Install WiFi analyzer and check if your signal is blown away by other signals on the same channel. If so change the channel in your router.

I had the same issue with my Verizion Nexus 6. The wifi was always stuck between on and off, and wouldn't work. It started out intermittent, and got worse until it would never connect.
Verizion gave me grief and wanted to give me a used phone on unknown condition, so I contacted Motorolla about it, and they were happy to send me a replacement phone for the cost of shipping ($25ish?) While it was not new, they said it may been used up to 7 days, and then factory inspected for issues, which is more than the Verizon phone i got from them "new" that must have shipped with a Spanish recovery on it.
Moral of the story contact Motorola if it is in warranty and after basic troubleshooting you can get a replacment phone within a week.
