CarbonRom is another aftermarket ROM having its unique features. I have been playing with Carbon for sometime. It has some unique features like CarbonFibers and ActiveDisplay. Another cool ROM worth trying. Cheers!
Release Note:
2014/12/12
For some unknown reason, download provider is missing in the last build. I have to rebuild to make to work. Hoping this is really the final build...
2014/12/6
Lollipop is out and the last commit is weeks ago so this is the final version of Carbon 4.4.4. Hoping the lagecy could continue in 5.0. Cheers!
2014/9/12
I have upgrade my build enviornment and tried the AOSP l-preview for the past few weeks. It is more or less doable and quite stable. SKD API20 is not release yet and the version no. still show 4.4.3.43.43. I think that's why CM and others didn't touch l-preview.
I don't think the L source would come soon so I downgrade my build environment. It's been a month and about time for Carbon update!
2014/8/2
Just finished the GPU performance settings. In case some tabs might have lower tolerance, I lowered the GPU default min. and max. freq.
I also enable the Carbon performance tool. You can flash kernel and recovery from there. zRAM can only be enabled by TricksterMod. Old methods doesn't work on Kitkat. This build included all Carbon features. Enjoy!
2014/7/2
WC take a rest for a few days. It is about time for a new Carbon.
2014/4/19
There are a few bugs in CarbonRom for our tab since day one. SystemUI crash, Some pages in CarbonFibers crash...etc. I finally fixed them this weekend! So it's time for me the share. It include all the fixes in my Kitkat roms.

This ROM more better then the other 4.4 ROM, stable, super fast and more important is on the searching network signal part. Even losing network signal after reboot. Thanks you very much for making this great ROM for our TAB.

Thanks, worked for me as well, but can't stay on this ROM as bluetooth headset doesn't work with media, only with calls. Same problem as Omni. Works on CM11 and SlimKat, but SlimKat camera doesn't work, so I'm trying CM11 now, looks good so far =)
Dear Daniel, I have install this CarbonROM on to my P6800. It works like a charm. But...i thinks it cannot charged well using my original charger as other ROM. Charging never increase battery level, tend to decrease. Finally it dried up my tab. Now i cannot turn on my tab and still cannot charge it. I have used this tab for 2 years and loved to try many of your masterpiece ROM on it. Any suggestion to turn it on? Thanks bro...
So far I have no problem using this ROM on my P6800. Charging working as normal... Been using this ROM since the day Daniel released it.

I've given this a go on my P6810 and although basically good, I found one problem that was a deal breaker for me in that the bluetooth doesnt seem to work correctly. I could pair and connect with my external speaker (Minx Go) but the audio wasnt routed to the speaker.
Otherwise was a nice smooth rom with no other problems that I found. Ive gone back to the Cyanogen version for now.
Thanks for your efforts, I shall look for any updates. Got to say that bluetooth is a bit "flakey" on all the kit kat roms at the moment.

SlimKat and CM11 work fine for Bluetooth media audio for me. SlimKat perfectly, cm11 works but more jumpy

I have found a problem with Slimkat/Carbon/CM11/Omni ROMs
The top and bottom mics are reversed; meaning that the top microphone (which should be for noise cancellation) is used as the main microphone and bottom microphone (which should be the main microphone) is used for noise cancellation.
I have tried all 4 ROMs today and they all have the exact same problem.
Previously only one microphone was active and you successfully fixed this Daniel by enabling both microphones, now we just need to reverse them to make them work properly.
set color for navigation bar??
Says its a feature but my dumb a$s can't find the setting.
So I guess if does not exist that would be great also since I couldn't find it!
I wonder if xposed installer and its applications can be used with this rom..

I think it should be ok. I have used xposed on the CM 4.4.4r1 rom, as long as you are using Davlik and not ART for the runtime, it should be fine. I don't think Xposed is compatible with ART at the moment. I use the App Settings module, to set custom DPI values for various apps, also the greenify app has an Xposed module, which helps me to keep battery usage down and memory usage (I do this mainly for Real Racing 3 which is memory hungry).
Wow, a ROM from the future (7 July, today is 3rd July =p)
Hello guys,
Need to know the steps for flashing this ROM and GAPPS on a P6800.
Running stock 4.1.2 with root and CWM.
Thanks guys.
This is for someone who has a stock unrooted galaxy tab 7.7
This should be a full proof method of installing "first" a custom recovery and "second" a custom Kit kat rom.
Download all your files first.
1. Here is the link to Odin 3.07 -
https://www.google.com/url?q=http:/...ds-cse&usg=AFQjCNEqmNw0ERcW4K3UlFV7WKUotUiStw
When you go to this link it will give you the choice to open or save the file - I always download the file then extract it to a folder on my desktop named Odin.
2. Here is the link to TWRP v.2.7.1.0 -
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23501681358545485
When you go to this link you will need to select the download option on the page. A ten second timer will count down and then give you a few options to download from. Just select the first one for your download.
3. Here is the link for your selected rom -
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23501681358556281
When you go to this link you will need to select the download option on the page. It will give you the choice to open or save the file - SAVE is what you do.
4. Here is the link to the gapps file you will need.
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=15797 choose stock!
Again select download and choose to save.
We now have the four files we need to install this custom rom. Please copy the files from steps 3 and 4 to a micro sd card. Place the card into your tablet.
Time to INSTALL!!!
1. If you have not already - unzip the first file "Odin 3.07" to a folder on your desktop PC.
2. Press and hold the volume down and power button together and hold until a screen appears (other then a battery display or SAMSUNG) then let go of both. The screen should say something like "Warning!! A custom OS blah blah .. it will also say "Volume up: Continue".
3. Press the volume up choice. The screen should change to the little android and say downloading. This is known as "odin mode" and also referred to as "downloading mode" .
4. Now plug in the tablet transfer cable to the tablet and the PC. Open the Odin folder and double click the Odin3 v3.07 executable. Give the program permission to open if needed. Once open, Look for id:com - right above that you should see something like 0:[COM6](it might be another number then 6 this is all Good). If you do see this then you know you are connected.
In the option area you will see two options selected. Deselect Auto reboot leaving F. Reset Time the only one selected. To the right of this click the PDA button. This is where you will select the "TRWP v.2.7.1.0" file you downloaded on step 2. Once you select the twrp file, and you press open, the option for PDA will now have a check mark next to it. Now you can Press Start and let it run till you see "RESET!" at the top left of the Odin window and also you will see RES OK! in the message area (bottom left).
5. Disconnect the tablet from the transfer cable. Now Press the Power and Volume Up buttons together until you see the TEAMWIN window - release the buttons. This will take you into your newly installed twrp custom recovery. If the screen goes black while using the software, just touch it to wake.
6. Select WIPE
7. Select Format Data - type yes and press return on the keyboard - when it is done formatting choose the house icon to go back to the home screen.
8. Select Install - Navigate to your external sdcard and select the Carbon rom you downloaded in step 3.
9. Now select "add a zip" and choose the GAPPS file we downloaded in step 4.
10. Now use the "Swipe to Start" and allow the 2 files to install. When they finish you will have three choices.
11. First select wipe on the left - when it finishes select reboot.
Give it some time and you will eventually get to your carbon setup screen.

dont get it?
Hello,
I did everything you mentioned, but I'm using CWM instead of TWRP. Unfortunately though, when the Tab goes up I get two main crashes: Google Location, Setup Wizard, AOSP keyboard etc...
Any thoughts on that?
@ @daniel_hk, would appreciate your support on the matter.

exfat works, so I love it better than omniroms.
BTW, Is there a way to fix signal db ?
I get like 1000db on status.

This thread is for the development progress of the Dell Streak 7 running Jelly Bean Android 4.2.1 using Cyanogenmod 10.1 as the basis.
It is now being moved up a version, from Alpha 1.0 to Beta 1
This reverts us to the ICS-B4 partition layout. The reason being is that Dell decieded to be different and it causes problems with the sdcard fuse daemon. But switching to this layout, it allowed the sdcard daemon to work correctly and give us more space.

The first boot doesn't get the lock screen not even the setup then into TWRP, I had the wrong Gapps package and it didn't like it. Google's Gapps site was bonkers and couldn't download anything but found a file with my Nexus 10 stuff which worked. Now it's redownloading all my Nexus 10 apps on my DS7. Ah! The joys of owning more than one Android device.

Well this is what you say:
Run the appropriate flashing .exe or .sh, start the device up all the way to the lockscreen.
Reboot to Recovery, go to Mount > Use Internal Storage > Install > your_Android_4.2.1_gapps.zip (go download the gapps for Android 4.2.1)
Well, start the device the first time, I didn't get a lock screen, not sure what it was but not a lock sreen for sure. Do you really mean more than what you've stated? IIRC, I never get the lock screen on the first boot up but it's been some time though.
Keyboard input in ES File Explorer is real flakey, it closes after one keypress.
Weird. I must say its weird that you didn't get it right away.

I'm charging my streak to prepare for the flash
I'm going to give an inverted gapps package a go and will report back on its success.
JusTun Bean aroma installer version 6.2(for 4.2.1)
Has worked well on my GNex and og Evo running variants of cm10.1
Giveen,
I do think it would be wise to post a direct link to a confirmed working gapps package that you suggest. That way you limit bug reports to a standardized install.

flashed without a hitch, love to see that CM boot animation!
I did not go directly to the initial lockscreen, device started at home screen with the featured highlights of the launcher. i simply hit the power button to switch the screen off and then back on to see the lockscreen
i did attempt to use power button, reboot, recovery.... just rebooted system and back into CM.
I do not have an external SD card for the time being(micro card adapter is stuck in locked mode) si needed to copy a plethora of 4.2.1 mods to test out right to the internal storage. Including regular gapps, inverted gapps package, a "darker mod" which modifies the system framework to have backround be black instead of the typical gray you see (setting backround as an example) I've also got a 4 zip audio mod that adds some libs and stuff, works great on my Gnex... hopefull will do just fine here
just wanted to point out that MTP is not enabled by default. you need to open settings, storage, click on the 3 button menue icon, goto usb computer options, then select MTP in order for the computer to see the device and storage.
just finished copying files over, going to go back at this recovery stuff..... wish me luck!
(i will do one mod at a time to determine what's working and not, elliminate errors)
---------- Post added at 05:23 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:16 PM ----------
also wanted to point out
new to 4.2.1 is hidden "developer options" in settings
click "About Tablet" at the bottom of settings, then click repeatedly on the build number, i think it takes like 7 clicks? and you get a toeast telling you how many are left when you are close
this will unlock developer settings and performance settings in the main settings screen
that way you can enable usb debugging, screen stay awake, hold back button to kill..... change the transition speeds, all that jazz!
---------- Post added at 05:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:23 PM ----------
was able to power off device, volume+ and power to get to recovery options, selected update from update package, TWRP!
also notice you've got v2.4.1.0 going, most upto date
well played sir!
off to the gapps
<3
Yeah, I was actually done fixing wifi this morning, but recovery had to be fixed. Our old recovery.fstab didn't match up things, and then I was having a problem getting gapps to flash. Turned out I had to add more space in system partition and tell Android that it was there.
Hm...there may be a SoD bug.

DerArtem wasn't really working on the kernel yet. We were able to get all this done with very few kernel modifications.
Its still up to him if he is going to do a kernel port. I do know that right now he is really busy with work and will be traveling soon.

Without logs, it could be anything.
i tried the JusTun Bean inverted gapps package, seems to have worked just fine similar to how its worked on my other devices. I was letting play store restore my apps, but it was bogging down the system and fairly tedius, so i stopped that, copied over my TiTanium Backup folder from my Gnex and am restoring about 90 apps(app only, no data) and it's moving slow but steady. i'm letting it sit on the dock with stay awake so that it's holding good battery and plugging away at the restores.
i did try the audio mods i had that say they are for any 4.2.1 build, but they failed during install(error 7) maybe it had something to do with system already being mounted while i tried? will give it a go later on once i've gotten a good base with all my apps loaded and can make a twrp backup and then will mess with things from there
aside from some serious lag(granted, ive been running the thing hard!) it's damn good to see CM10.1 on the Streak!

After 2 weeks of sleepless and sweaty work, I finally port our orphan GalaxyTab 7.7 to ParanoidAndroid!
Cheers!
This is an experimental release. Try it at you own risk
Good luck !
22/7/2013
After a few SystemUI crash loop, I found the bug in HALO. The 'a' version is rebuilding and uploading now.
21/7/2013
It's getting harder and harder to keep up with the new codes for our tab now! Everytime I pull new codes, our outdated blobs might be incompatible! After the bootloop of i815, telephony was another wall I hit. Spent two whole days to dig out another tiny bug!
The new PA3.68 has a lot of changes in HALO and Gesture (Don't ask.. I don't have time to try it yet).PA has its own OTA now! It's about time for us to have a new PA. Uploading to goo.im is terribly slow. May need a few hours...
History
8/7/2013
PA3.65 is out, PA change to a shorter file name now...
In this build, I included two new drivers from the new kernel I'm working on. Light sensor has more steps and lower margins now. It will be more pratical. The repeat charging loop when power off is fixed. Same as the stock rom, the tab will reboot after 5 minutes of charging (don't know why yet).
12/6/2013
The source of HALO is finally out! Its too long for a new PA build. GPS is also fixed. I test it briefly. Need some time to manage how HALO work. The pie feature of PA is not as good as cm10.1. This is really a major update from PA, :good: Cheers!
3/6/2013
It's really great that Espen96 has setup a host at his server for me! :good:
http://3djanos.com/daniel_hk/index.php?dir=rom/pa3
It is a pure download page without any ad. and delay. Also works great for downloading in the tab.
2/6/2013:
After finishing the latest wifi driver from Athero, I manager to modify the Stock JB driver in the similar way. Now we have TWO wifi drivers. Both are working quite well. The new driver was base on the latest driver from Athero and I added wakelock and power management to it. The stock driver was based on the Athero source 2 generations back but with some modifications from Samsung. I packed both to different kernels for you guys to test and decide which is best for you.
The file with kernel-a is from Athero which I'll use it as default from now on.
The file with kernel-s is base on the stock driver.
Cheers!
26/5/2013:
Many changes have been made by PA team. Although I have't found what caused the gps issue, it is worth to keep up with the PA3. New pa3.56 builds are uploading now. The latest kernel is included. Which might need further polishing but no more extra heat will be generated with it.
25/5/2013:
I was trying to port the wifi driver from Samsung's JB source for nearly a week! Turn out that It is another landmine from Samsung! After trying everything including proting the whole stock JB kernel to cm10.1, I can confirm that it only works fine on Samsung's own blobs! Back to square one and start with the original wifi driver from Athero. I need to add wakelock and power management support for this driver and yet a workable driver is out in a few hours! I just forgot about all the lessons from Samsung and stepped on another landmine... The kernel with the new wifi driver is uploading to goo.im and pre-release areas. Work for both cm10.1 & PA3. I tested it over 40 hours on battery without any problems...
Minor fixes in video driver is included. Please test it and report.
22/5/2013:
I finally port the latest wifi driver from Samsung's p6800 JB source to the kernel! That was a really tough job! I also add the latest patches from Athero (the chip manufacturer). Our driver is actually an update to the stock driver... Testing for a while now. I believe the SOD and torrent issues are gone now... Uploading to pre-release and goo.im now. Please have a durable test on it! Work for both cm10.1 & pa3 as before.
Wifi drop at sleep when no activity... please hold and let me study the new driver again.
14/5/2013:
Just got a tip that can turn the incall screen to portriat from my GT-Plus thread. Set to force auto rotation with Ultimate rotation or other 3rd party apps. In 4.2.x, incall screen layout is handled in call card from Contact. This way will override the call card(which doesn't handle rotation now) of Contact to force auto.
13/5/2013:
I'm adding one more release area goo.im. All the previous roms are uploading to goo.im now. OTA with GooManager will be supported shortly. Since goo.im may not be available in some region. I will continue to keep the other locations.
9/5/2013:
The new PA3.50 HALO builds are uploading to pre-release now. Auto-rotation has been annoying many of us since cm10. I just found the bug cause it. The current angle will be preserved when auto-rotation is off. Then I found that PA has no rotation settings in Display. Rotation button do exist in Quicksettings... Spent half an hour to add the rotation settings to PA. The auto restart when plugging charger/usb is kinda fixed. I refreshed my rusty Photoshop memory and drew the new charging images. Enjoy!
6/5/2013:
21APR build is released. Found a bug in wifi driver power management. Testing now, hoping to fix the wifi drain issue.
21/4/2013:
The BT fixed version of PA3.15 is uploading to pre-release now. APN settings is fixed. PA use a older settings source which have a different referenece point. Next move will be the kernel drain. As usual, cm10.1 will be the vanguard.
P.S. forgot to mention, kernel support for NTFS is enabled but I don't have NTFS sdcard to test it. Please report.
18/4/2013:
New Phone.apk with blacklist is not working. The "a" version with the old working Phone.apk is unloading to pre-release. A PhonePatch.zip (flash in recovery) is also uploaded for those already flash the pa_p6800-3.15-17APRO2013-170005 build. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.
17/4/2013:
The new build with the fixed kernel is uploading to pre-release. A lot of changes from PA and AOSP including the new blacklist in Phone. For the first time, the PA build is newer than cm10.1. New light sensor for i815, don't know if it work. Please report.
11/4/2013:
The 10APR2013 vesion has a bug. Internal sdcard is read only. A patch has already uploaded.
Anyone download the pa_xxxx-3.15-10APR2013-xxxxxx in pre-release,
please replace it with pa_xxxx-3.15-10APR2013-xxxxxxa.
Thanks!
10/4/2013:
It's about time for our PA3 to have a new heart. The O/C Kernel works fine on PA3 too. In case some device might have a lower margin. By default, it is the same as before 1.4G with no U/V.
I also find a workaround to enable the write permission on the external sd_card. Thanks for the tips from USCanthonymy in my GT-Plus PA3 thread. Everything is working almost as good as CM10.1 now. Building now, will upload to pre-release in a few hours.
Waiting for my friends BT headsets to verify the last issue - bluetooth headset.
4/4/2013:
The new PA3.15 build for p6800 is uploading to pre-release now. Phone is now working on p6800. The bluetooth Headset still has issue with the audio driver. Seems mic is ok but no sound in the earpiece. Since the phone part is fixed, no more beta now. Update to the new AOSPA 3 logo too.
Building the other 2 models now and will upload to pre-release ASAP.
2/4/2013:
The final release of 3.15b2 is uploading now. Audio fix and latest update from PA is included. For p6810 & i815, no more major issues now.
For p6800, phone apk still not working...:cyclops: After studying for sometime, I suspect it is caused by the propietry libraries from Samsung (libril, libsec-ril, etc.). Will try changing or rewriting the phone.apk, voicedialer, etc. to adpat it. Please be patient.
31/3/2013:
External sdcard mounting issue is fixed. 3.15b2 is uploading to pre-release. It also include the latest update from PA. The latest PA settings are really good.
28/3/2013:
I was thinking that applying the same changes from CM to PA is straight forward... It is harder than I thought! Quite a few differences between the two. The device tree really need tidying up to work on AOSP... Finally I get it through.
PA is now 3.15. I also upgrade the new video driver to mali 3p1 in the kernel. Thanks to alanorth for updating the samsung proprietry files. Some changes required to work on our 7.7 but I had already done before. Just copied from the previous build and the build get pass.
Building all 3 models now. Will upload to pre-release in a few hours.
18/3/2013:
PA3.1b1 builds are released (no change from pre-release). I'm working on bluetooth and phone on CM10.1. Further update will be released if major changes in PA or after fixing bluetooth and/or phone on CM10.1.
8/3/2013:
My tab is fixed! Yeah!
Ater dumping the first few MB from my tab via the JTAG port. I know what cause my problem now...
It was the dd command I issued earlier to flash the recovery. I must had enter the wrong partition in of=.. I write the data to mmcblk0 instead of mmcblk0p6! I recover those data from my friend's tab. I lost all the data inside but I'm grateful to have it back. This is really the price I have to pay...
This command is extremely dangerous! I should have put it in a script to avoid typing errors. I did it in the terminal apps which is even more dangerous since the software keyboard easily cause typing error... I must had touch the Enter key when I type the letter p. I have done lots of times so I didn't bother to check the terminal window (my second mistake). This is a very good lesson to me... Thanks for those concern and for those teasing (I deserve it!). Really grateful to have you guys around! :good:
2/3/2013:
PA3.1 is uploaded to the pre-release area. Please report if who have time to test.
28/2/2013:
Thanks for some friends to test the pre-release PA3.0b3. They are now released on the post to make room for PA3.1. I just borrow a Tab from a friend to test the PA3.1 new build. Hoping to release it in weekend.
20/2/2013:
PA3.0b3 is uploaded to the pre-release area for testing. Changes made in Telephony and Harware keyboard. If anyone has time and experience to test, please report..
19/2/2013:
PA3.0 migrate to 4.2.2r1 now. Since I don't have the Tab to test, not much changes have made. This is the best I can do. Please keep a forgiving mine if anything goes wrong...
11/2/2013:
After tidy up the device trees, I build the PA3.0 for all models as promise. Telephony doesn't change in 3.0. Next move is to deal with it...Not a problem for p6810 owners. Boot animation is a little bit ugly ...my humble opinion...
10/2/2013::crying:My Tab fail to boot this morning, I think my bootloader is corrupted. Not even the Samsung logo and the battery icon while charging. I have to send it to the dealer for repairing...Hoping won't put an end to my works
9/2/2013:
At the time I finished a workable build for p6800, PA has already announced the version 3.0.
My antique PC is trying its best! I'll finish the 3.0 build for all 3 models and will upload them ASAP.

FAQ
Q: Why the keyboard not show?
A: AOSP 4.2.1 support hardware keyboard (via OTG I suppose),
The default settings is "ON" which hides the software keyboard.
To show the software keyboard:
Settings > Language & Input > Default
Turn hardware keyboard "OFF"

Q: How to avoid the emmc brick bug when flashing
A: if coming from stock ics. Here is one of the easier way:
flash the rom (and gapps) in recovery. don't do any factory rest and wiping!
reset to recovery again.
do factory reset or wipe data
reset and enjoy!

I assume PA2.99-3.00 doesn't have a combined bar mode for tablet layouts, same as CM10.1? Do we have to endure the bottom/top bar waste of space with it too?

AOSPA has a new hybrid properties, similar to the one in pa2.5x. No reboot is required for default settings. Tablet mode merge the status bar to Nav. bar as before.
Cheers!
thanks for your great work!!!

no 3G internet for now?!?
Great work ... keep it up
and waiting for v 3.0
There are a lot of items that I don't see under known issues that have historically been problems: i815 IR blaster, GPS, light-sensor, HDMI dongle, Hidden SSID, Wifi hotspot, etc. Are these all working?

These are CM10.1 issues mentioned in (1). I don't have an i815, no way to test. But the device tree is derive from CM10.1. I suppose all the hardware issues are similar.
I only have p6800. Bluetooth & Telephony are the two major issues in p6800.

Yes, phone and data is not working. The framework and telephony trees which PA work on is a little bit out dated. The baseband is not recognized. I need to study quite a no. of files to decide what to do... and I'm working on it.
If anyone has any idea, please let me know.

Can we flash from cm 10.1 Jan 5 th build without factory reset ?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using XDA Premium HD app
Just gave the 6810 version a spin, looks and performs generally very nice so far - thank you very much for your efforts, Daniel!
One thing though - am I blind or are there no developer options in the settings? Can't find USB debugging, no matter how hard I look. (Edit: adding persist.service.adb.enable=1 to my build.prop did the trick.)
Also couldn't find a way to change those awful huge tiles in the popup bar menu to normal switches, and no dpi/px setting in which the clock and wifi/battery icons in the bar aren't cut off in landscape view, but those are just tiny issues. (Edit: to make the combined bar look normal, I edited /etc/paranoid/properties.conf - com.android.systemui.statusbar.dpi=160 and com.android.systemui.navbar.dpi=160)

if any of you kind of lazy to edit the build prop... just go to setting about and press on the build number about 7 times... it will then show the hidden developer option....

Attention: This ROM is discontinued!
It still works great as a daily driver and got a large userbase, but as CM10.1 has been abandoned there won't come any new updates anymore!
After working really hard on it for more than 2 month(!) I proudly present my first CM10.1 T-Build :fingers-crossed:
I put lots and lots of effort into it to create a great, smooth and bugfree rom experience for you guys.
I tried to fix all huge bugs on CM10.1 like bluetooth fast forwarding and the wifi hotspot.
Additionally I took the time to create a non-neon gapps package, as the official 4.2 one does only support neon.

CM Known Bugs & Fixes:
This list shows what has been done so far.
As you can guess by the sheer amount of the fixed bugs there has been put lots and lots of time into this ROM.
And don't forget about all the awesome work pengus77 has put into the kernel - without him we would still suffer from bsods and huge battery drain.
Do NOT post or ask about stuff on the known bugs list!
The bug is listed here - I don't need to get reminded that it's there.
If there's progress or an ETA or anything we will post about it - if not there's not.
I really mean it! Do not ask, it's just annoying. It might only lead to us abandoning the work on the bug.
Oh check the "plans for the next build" section below as well.
But of course you're very welcome to post a decent fixing idea or development related note in'te the CM10.1 development discussion.
Hall of shame of people who ignored my warnings and still posted about already known bugs.
If someone continuously breaks this threads rules you'll land on my ignore list.

I got a bug - can I report it?:
If you want me to take the time to help and fix your bugs I expect you to take the time and do this properly!
Quick check: Did you do a full wipe before installing build 01? If not you need to do that first!
Check the known bugs section. If it's listed or mentioned there, drop it (and wait patiently if it'll get fixed eventually).
Use the search function and try to find if others have been posted about it.
You're only at the app and can't properly search within a thread?
Then wait until you're at home and report the bug from there!
Check the last 3 pages if the bug has been mentioned there.
You still with me? All of this takes too much of your precious time?
Then use another ROM!
Still nothing? Then report the bug in this thread.
Always attach logs to your bugreport!! Bug reports without logs will get ignored completely.
Study this for more details: [Reference] How to get useful logs
People who fail in doing this properly will get into the hall of shame.
Downloads:
ROM:
By downloading and/or using this ROM you agree to the guidlines of this thread:
Read and understand the entire OP!
Yes, it takes a couple minutes - but what's that compared to the 2+ month I put into the ROM??
Don't be a douchebag!
Follow the rules!
If you agree click the button and download the ROM :fingers-crossed:
Download: http://tonyp.basketbuild.com
Make sure to download the correct version for your bootloader!
Mirror: http://goo.im/devs/tonyp
Gapps:
This ROM already has tiny gapps included! That's a minimum gapps package (<20mb)
I put a lot of effort into integrating the required apps and libs and tested it carefully.
I choose this approach because of the many problems that the standard package causes to our non-neon Tegra2 phone.
Included are only the most basic (g)apps like Playstore, Talk (with working videochat), Calendar sync provicer etc.
If you want to remove the included gapps flash this package after flashing the ROM:
CM10.1-gapps-remover-tonyp.zip
For those of you who want the "full" gapps package including Google Now, TTS, Faceunlock, voice search etc. I worked on a full non-neon gapps package.
Get it from this thread: Non-neon Gapps (Android 4.2) dev-discussion thread
Do NOT flash any other gapps package - they aren't compatible with our phone!
If you accidently did that then format /system and reflash the ROM.
This is necessary to prevent bugs like like the keyboard closing while typing.
Addons:
You can download my officially supported addons from the addons folder:
http://goo.im/devs/tonyp/CM10.1-T-Builds/addons
This ROM has native support for Quickmemo.
For more details read this post.
I've build patches for OpenPdroid and PDroid2.0.
For more details read this post.
Kernel:
kowalski kernel thread
This ROM comes with the awesome kowalski kernel by pengus77.
For new versions (which come regularly) check out his thread!
Various:
TWRP recovery for both bootloaders
my modded adb drivers
Instructions:
Updating to a newer T-Build::
No wipes or system-format needed!
Choose the correct ROM for your bootloader
Flash the ROM
Flash the latest kowalski kernel
Tiny Gapps are included, so there's no need to flash gapps if those are enough for you.
If you want the full gapps package use the non-neon one I provide here.
If you want to remove gapps flash this package after flashing the ROM: CM10.1-gapps-remover-tonyp.zip
Reboot
Coming from another ROM:
If you're on the newbl either use pengus CWM 6.0.2.5 or my TWRP!
Other recoveries won't work.
oldbl users can use any CWM >5 or TWRP version.
Do a full wipe!
Just do the wipe, you will be thankful afterwards when everything does run better.
Format /system
Choose the correct ROM for your bootloader
Flash the ROM
Flash the latest kowalski kernel
Tiny Gapps are included, so there's no need to flash gapps if those are enough for you.
If you want the full gapps package use the non-neon one I provide here.
If you want to remove gapps flash this package after flashing the ROM: CM10.1-gapps-remover-tonyp.zip
Reboot
Don't restore system apps (like Settings) or system data (like Wifi data) with TitaniumBackup!
My personal recommended configuration:
Go to Settings - Performance - Processor and change the "Maximum CPU frequency" to 1200 (or even 1500) and "Set on Boot"
Open the KowalskiManager
enable the 3 power saving options at the top
lower TX Power to 11
Change the SD readaheads to 512
enable dynamic fsync
This ROM comes pre-configured with the following memory management changes:
zRAM enabled with 18%
tonyp memory management enabled
purgeable assets enabled
Changelog:
T-Build 01
T-Build 02
T-Build 03
T-Build 04
T-Build 05
Let me leave with a couple more notes:
This ROMs focus is stability! It's intention is to be a daily driver without the need to constantly flash new updates - that's why I kept you guys waiting that long and didn't release my daily testbuilds (more like 3 builds a day actually) which haven't been perfectly stable, yet.
That's why I took CM10.1 M3 as a base and don't merge in nightly features - everything in this ROM should be well tested and fully working.
I only picked memoryleak fix that's been discovered after M3.
I won't cherrypick each and every feature that's in some other ROM!
If there's a real useful addition that I personally like I will do it, but the fancy stuff has to go into other ROMs.
You guys know me - I am mostly patient and don't mind slight offtopic posts.
For completely offtopic posts you can use the CM 10.1 discussion thread.
... but I hate people who are lazy and don't do their own research. I spent countless hours on this ROM, I think I can expect you to spent a little time before asking questions.
I am not a vendor who's obligated to release a ROM for the phone - I am doing this in my free time for you and me.
So please - don't behave like a total noob. Or [email protected] and I will have a busy fishlapping time
F.A.Q. - Frequently Asked Questions:
How can I swap the mounting points for internal SD card and external SD card?
If you're on the new bootloader, flash this script via Recovery (thanks, @C0D3N1N3R!). For those on the old bootloader, you need this one instead (thanks, @SWTR!).
Which gapps package should I use with this ROM?
Seriously? You haven't been paying attention, have you? Go read the posts above this one!
Which PDroid version should I use?
It's a matter of personal preference, actually. Try both and see which one fits your needs the best. Keep in mind that if you're switching between Openpdroid and PDroid 2.0 (or viceversa) you need to uninstall the app and re-flash the ROM first, or else this kitten will die and it'll be in your conscience forever! I'm serious!!
Just flashed this ROM via recovery and can't get past the boot logo, what's wrong?
Chances are that you're using the wrong Recovery. Try pengus' CMW v6.0.2.5 and flash the ROM again. If the problem persists, check that the ROM zip file isn't corrupted (see each build's md5 hash on tonyp's goo.im CM10.1 folder). If none of that helps, then you better get Tony some logs
How can I know which bootloader my device is using?
An easy way to indentify this is by seeing the bootloader logo that appears when you turn on your device: white -> old bootloader, pink -> new bootloader.
How can I set a custom DPI on this ROM?
You can either use the Google Play DPI Fix Tool, or Tony's personal recommendation: Xposed in combination with Xposed App Settings (link down, use this one or this one instead for now) (see reference by @rugglez).
Viber doesn't work on this ROM, I can't even make a call. What can I do?
According to what we have read, recent versions of Viber won't work on CM 10+ for our device. Apparently, the developers of the app were been notified about the issue and they might look into it soon. Worry not, my friend, since not everything is lost. According to @engine24, Viber version 2.3.6.338 seems to be working alright. Make sure you uninstall your current version of Viber first before installing this one, though!
Battery drain is a bit too high, what's happening?
If you just flashed this ROM, please do one or two full battery charge cycles and see if it helps. Also, check on BetterBatteryStats for rogue apps keeping your device awake (and this is definitely worth a read!).
My screen goes bright before unlocking / after locking?
It's a known issue when using autobrightness. There's no fix for this at the moment.
My GPS takes ages to get a lock, how can I fix it?
Try the latest version available of the Google Specific No-SSL AGPS patch by @crypted. Unpack the gps.conf file and copy it into /system/etc/ using a root file explorer (set permissions to rw-r--r--). Optionally, you can add ro.ril.def.agps.mode = 1 to build.prop (find it in /system folder) but only if you're still having problems after applying the patch.
And, in case you're wondering, the answer is no: this patch won't be integrated into the ROM, so don't ask ... or will it?
Edit: that damn Tony added it to T-Build 3, so this is no longer necessary (unless he decides to drop it hehe)
Hardware Search key is not working!
Go to Settings > System > Hardware keys and make sure that Enable custom actions is checked. Also, change Search key action to In-app Search.

Who installs this Rom, accept it "as is".
Contains just the apps and options installed.
What you want to add will have to be obtained from Google-Play or any other sources.
Please, don't report bugs if you are not using the installed Dhollmen Kernel.
In case of questions or comments, you must indicate additional apps, tweaks or installed "optimizations".
if you insert images, do it in a 'hide' tag. This hide your image until an user click to show it.
I assume you has installed a suitable Recovery and know how to perform the required steps.
Keep in mind that Antutu and others related apps give you very similar values, regardless of the Rom used.
In such apps, OC influence on speed, but its goal is to evaluate the hardware, not the Rom.
Don't use any kind of overclock before three consecutive stability test in Antutu.
> Rom take a long time to boot after installing.
It is quite normal if ART runtime is used as applications are self-compiled at first boot time, after installing a new Rom or changing to ART.
> Applications are slow to start after installing.
It is quite normal if ART is used because apps have self-compiled before first use.
Although it may seem at times, the Rom is not hung, just have to wait.

> Google Apps (Gapps).
All Gapps packages available are virtually identical.
Only differ, from each other, in the amount of installed applications.
Two different packages must be never installed as likely to cause Google applications FC.
The Dhollmen Gapps, being valid for any Rom, are specifically adapted for installation on it.
> Viper4 - Convolver - IRS.
This application controls the System Sound FX.
It also includes a number of advanced pre-equalizer settings (made by others) that are the IRS whose installation files requested.
Access to Convolver (manager of the IRS) is obtained by selecting the option Expert in Experience Settings.
Using another equalizer (provided by external applications) usually interfere with it.
You can only have one active equalizer in the system, but if you want to use another one, kindly Viper4 can be turned off.
> Restoring backups.
It is very common Titanium Backup (or similar) problems in Rom.
If backup /data partition are made and, after a change of Rom, restored, usually side effects will occur.
In this directory and subdirectories it contains, there are many configuration files and internal databases.
When it comes to a specific application should not be a problem as long as it is not part of the Rom.
When sub-directories containing settings are restored, the likelihood of problems increases exponentially.
For example, all Roms have a Settings application, but the content of his configurations differs between them and is not interchangeable.
Under no circumstances you should restore /system partition apps.

I do not want to look like I refuse to answer it, but now I'm not focused on as I solved each of the bugs I found.
Note that I have made several thousand code modifications by adding, modifying or deleting lines.
I started my work on past July, then I abandoned her to get involved in Carbon and then restarted in past October.
When I got the initial repo version this included numerous previous changes.
If your bearings me a little about these problems, I can try to locate code sections related and, perhaps then, will serve you as an aid.
Regards.

Can someone else with a 3113 or 3110 running this ROM test their mic to see if its working properly?
I went to use Google now an noticed it could not hear me. Then went to sound recorder, same results. Just to be sure, I opened pitchlab, an app I use to tune my guitar and a few other instruments and still no response from mic. Didn't see it in "known bugs" in the thread so that's why I'm asking. I did compare the libs and modules for mic from a previous nandroid of aokp that i know the mic worked just to make sure it was all there. All is there, like it should be..
Ill pastebin a logcat if noone else reports this but I figured I'd ask first.
For reference I installed it clean like so:
Did a full format of
/system
/cache
/data
/sdcard
Then installed the latest ROM.zip and gapps from first post. Everything else in the ROM works beautifull. Fast and smooth. Using for about three days as a daily driver before I noticed the mic problem. Didn't experience any other bugs and I have been through every setting in customization available to get it setup how I like.
P.S. using built-in kernel. And no Xposed or modules
Edit: Fixed.. updated my recovery and re-flashed a clean flash. Rom works quite nice. Fast and smooth. Ill report bugs if I find any.
Stable , fast and good battery life. Tablet UI interface it's wonderful! I test mic later

What is wrong with this ROM? Few times during the day a self restart. You can not watch the movies 720p.
This is an unoffical experimental build of CyanogenMod 12 for GalaxyTab-7.7. Let's have the first taste of the colorful Lollipop.
CarbonLP is the winner. It is out now. Check the thread.
Release Note
2015/10/6
I just sync the marshmallow trees. That means the end of lollipop. I haven't update CM for a while because there is no significant improvement. I got an OTG last week. Finally, I can complete the support of it. USB storage is included in Strorage settings now. This is probably the last cm-12.1. It is Android-5.1.1_r24 (LMY48W). Enjoy the last lick.
2015/8/26
This build included a few extra things need to patch after the hard drive crash. The security breach in Android is fixed and some modification in media driver to make it more stable. Upper speaker is working in phone calls now. cheers!
2015/7/23
This is the test build after I reconfigured my hard drive AGAIN. Start again is always difficult but wiser. Finally, I have the "motivation" to face the few things squeezed down in the do list for a long long time... [emoji14]
I renewed the private lib for the wifi driver of the Athero chip. Now we can keep up with the current wpa_supplicant. The wifi ssid and password can restored now. I also set the default platform orientation to portrait (you may notice it from the boot animation). Rotations, call-screen and a few apps would behave like a phone (portrait) now. Note that this is a platform setting, it won't affect the kernel default. Recovery will behave as before. The SuperSU (if installed) entry is restored in settings.
The RIL library is also outdated now. The top speaker doesn't work during calls but bottom speakers and wire headsets are OK. Furthermore, phone calls would sometimes corrupt the audio driver... I think the next move would be keeping up with the current RIL...
Anyway, this is a quite stable build and almost all of the features are working now. Cheers.
History
2015/6/6
It's been quite a long time. Finally, the H/W decoder is fixed. cheers!
2015/5/2
cm-12.1 merge android-5.1.1_r1 now. The image method is no longer working. In this build, I use the old method in the zip. It might take longer (up to 10 min.) to flash but no more can't flash. 5.1.1 is quite stable. Lollipop is getting better and more stable now.
2015/4/19
cm-12.1 merge android-5.1.0_r5 now. In this build, I pick up the loose ends. GPS and some sensors are OK now.
Some p6800 owner reported failing to flash, I add the "a" version which use the old method in the zip. Those can't flash may try the "a" version. Cheers!
2015/4/4
Finally got cm-12.1 working. There are still some issues but it is quite presentable. PerformanceControl is included, bluetooth and wifi-tethering is working. Cheers!
2015/3/14
Struggling for a few weeks for the stability. Anyway, it's a time for a new build. zRam support is added to PerformanceControl.
5.1 was out last week. Omni was the first custom rom merging 5.1. I managed to build it out with little effort. Still have some glitches as expected but it is quite stable. I plan to release the experimental build shortly.
2015/2/25
The torch in QuickSettings is fixed. I knew it wasn't a decent job so I wait..(for too long). It took me a few days to find a neat way and has minimal changes to the original source. That's the final piece, Yeah! :highfive:
2015/2/14
Although some commits gave me hard times, CM is getting stable now. Rush this out before the Lunar New Year. This long holiday, I'll take another look at the kernel and the SailFish OS...
2015/2/7
CM is adding its own features and gain quite some weight... Having hard time for a new feature which cause boot loop. Finally, I put a workaround to make it boot.
2015/1/25
I studied the newer (3.10.y and 3.14.y) kernel sources for a few days and nights. It is surely a mine field... Will start when my mind is ready. Only minor changes in cm-12.0 but it's about time for a new release. Cheers!
2015/1/10
It was a productive week. I finally unlock the last piece, mobiledata. After updating the RIL blobs and the opensource driver, I realized that the kernel also needed upgrade. I searched the Linux kernel.org and found a few essential commits. I cherry pick them and resolved the conflicts. Finally, mobiledata is workig now! Cheers!!! :victory:
This prove that our existing 3.0.y kernel is really outdated. Instead of bandages, I plan to make a new kernel for our tab. The latest stable 3.18.y is too far. I might start with the Linux 3.14.y which has LTS. If I success, it will probably the newest kernel for Android.
Those who familiar with Linux kernel are welcome to help!
2015/1/4
Happy new year! This is the first release in 2015. Found a bug in Bluez and it can turn off now. SCO and APTX modules are added.
I finally make the InCall screen rotatable. The only major issue left would be mobiledata. I think I fond the reason by not fixed yet.
Lollipop source gain a lot of weight. It took 5 hrs. for single build! My PC really need an upgrade.
2014/11/29
The new Lollipop has no decent manual. It took me a lot of time to study the source. Clearly it takes time to grow. Before going back to my final Kitkats, I biuld the alpha release. All models are inclued. Happy licking!
2014/11/18
After a few days and nights, I finally located the annoying bootloop issue at every boot. It is a barely presentable cm-12.0 now. Other than the listed issues, all the new UI features are working. Enjoy!

first!! Thanks for sharing this daniel_hk !!! i think if you repartition the p6810, you can use p6800 roms or?? great one, thanks for supporting this 3 year old device!!!
Many thanks for your continued support on the 6800 devices, much appreciated
Donation made, as promised, hope you've received it!
woah! this might be the best thing happened with this device i cant believe that you can go this far, keep up the good work!
downloading and testing now
EDIT: here's some initial impressions:
- initial boot took very long - almost 10 mins
- pretty stable, almost everything is working which is very nice
- sttuters everywhere, pretty much as your KK roms, probably caused by an old kernel
- YouTube video doesnt play at any resolution, the sound does play though, gonna test another video playback
- there's no option to turn off battery percentage on the statusbar
gonna use this ROM for daily driver for now :highfive:
by the way, im curious about your DPI choice, why it is not 213? i found 213 are easier for my eye
cant open zip, it says that its not good? would like to get it to run on the wifi model *_* @rezaswandira whede did you download the rom? gooim or the cinese one?

jep youre right... will try to somehow get it running on the p6810. great work daniel, but is the new flashable zip format somehow different? dont see any files in the /system (only bin) but a big file in the root of the zip...(cant acess sys files:silly.... sorry if i missed something
Very weird for me as I cannot get the keyboard to appear to enter my wifi password.
I note that the H+ symbol appears on my mobile, so not sure if that is picking up mobile data or just a red herring.
I did use another universal gapps -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/gapps-google-apps-minimal-edition-t2943330
So maybe I am causing my own problems, but the gapps work on my oneplus without any issue.

Pay attention to the OP, its a known issue and there's a workaround to fix it
Simply skip everything in the setup guide and go to settings to enable the keyboard, then add your google account

Yeah, the new zip has different format. It's an system image. This way is faster and no need to set permission afterward.
Lollipop use the ART which take longer to boot at the first time.

The file in goo.im is ok. ~200M. It might take time to refresh.
See if you can see/edit APN. You can have mobile data if you can access APN.

Take a look at the last screenshot in post#2. It show you how to enable the keyboard.
Good luck guys.

Perhaps you can show me it in the OP, as I have looked again and cannot see it as a known issue in the first post?
Know issues:
1. GPS (seems the blob is not working in 5.0...)
2. Mobiledata is not working but Phone calls are OK. (Can't access APN...)
3. Bluez claimed the support for 5.0 (may be the Bluetooth apk from CM is not compatible)
4. Glitch during rotation as before (Can't keep up the new OpenGL, Old patch can only reduce it)
5. No Root solution for non-Nexus devices now.

I don't go looking at screenshots for clues as to issues with ROM's, but it seems I might have too, if that is what you are referring too, as so obvious??

Downloaded from goo 3 times and each time the file would not flash. Chinese site the file flashed first time. File sizes looked the same on disk.
Will give the APN a try.
Edit: I can edit the APN.
I guess its not about enabling it (as I know how to do that), its about enabling it after you have have skipped the complete setup, which I know goes to mobile data without wifi, which I don't have on this device.
I assume it will just error out and continue, as others have succeeded. Will give it a go.
Edit: It progresses without error.
Edit: Overall this is much smoother than the CM11 build, so I am going to give it a go as my daily as well
Edit: Wondering if the latest SuperSU beta helps in gain root? Will do some reading..
Thanks.

tryed to port to p6810, the bootlogo freezes after a couple of minutes, is this normal?
Same problem .. zip file problem
(bad)
Installation aborted (chinese download too)...
There is other mirror or correct file?
Thank you
I've used Chainfires latest beta of SuperSU 2.23 and have root for sd maid and others.
Seems some apps are not working according to his thread, but the few I use seem to be ok.
I can also edit the APN, so looks great to me (although i have not put data credit on my sim yet to try )
Very smooth build, thanks for that.
Edit: @prohackerbro the version for 6800 has frozen a couple of time for me on the cynogenmod boot logo, but a reboot allowed things to progress further.
@pinele the Chinese one worked fine for me, did you try a couple of times?

As those issues are not so important, I'll make this experimental build official.
I will post an update with all models later (hoping in next week).

goo.im hate me. I can't check the md5 and uploading is not stable.
Anyway, I uploaded the file to AFH and reuploaded to goo.im. AFH has md5 checksum to verify..

okay got it to work on wifi model, but it freezes sometimes, had to reboot 2 times now, im gonna try to install the gapps, wifi works, didnt try the rest because of this freezing. is there any undervolt;overclock.... enabled on this rom @daniel_hk ?
EDIT: correction
I'm going to give this ROM a try! Yesterday I tried an experimental CM12 on a TMobile Note 3 and found it surprisingly usable. When using the TMobile ROM some apps would force close but if older versions of those apps were used (ICS-era) for example, the apps would run fine.
Off we go!
UPDATE: This rom is great! WiFi is fast, works on 5GHz, camera took a picture. SuperSU 2.25 installed via .zip works, have root. ES File manager (lastest version) is working fine.
I notice the screen breaks up sometimes when rotating the screen. The breakup appears as a bunch of little vertical lines on the screen. It almost looks like an effect.
Off to have some more fun!
UPDATE2: Video output seems to be not working: YouTube, Dice Player, Gallery. As another poster indicated, I too get sound, no video -- streaming or local. Might try a fresh reinstall.
P6800 just refuse to die... Thanks Daniel...
