What APN settings are people using with the AT&T branded Note 3 on Straight Talk? I just bought a new AT&T micro sim from Straight Talk that supposedly allows LTE to work. Please let me know the least restrictive APN settings that works for both LTE and MMS

I'm getting about 18 down on Straight Talk LTE in SLC. For some reason it's consistently 8 Mbs faster than my LTE LG E980 G Pro.
My settings screen shots are attached...

Those appear to be the stock ST settings from the ST website. I am unable to send/receive MMS with those settings. I have tried about a dozen other settings from users who are able to MMS, but none work for me.
I called ST and spoke to three escalating levels of tech support managers over a 58 minute call. None of them were able to help, although one told me my account settings were wrong on their end. The last one told me that they do not guarantee MMS service, and I would only get it if I was near one of their (Straight Talk) towers. I was unaware that they had their own towers. She also told me the N3 does not have the capability to MMS, and that I need a "more advanced" device.
With the HUGE number of N3 users having MMS problems on ST, I am beginning to think ST is limiting MMS to conserve band width. I actually lost the ability to send/receive MMS about 3 weeks before I purchased my N3 while I was still on my N1. That's why I think it is ST. Just my opinion though.

I haven't even tried MMS on my Note 3 yet. So many of the people I communicate with are on Hangouts or FB Messenger I rarely use text anymore. I'll have my old lady send me a MMS text and see what happens. Hopefully MMS issues will be cleared up if Google hopefully integrates Hangouts and MMS here *soon*.
MMS worked on my Note 2 and LG G Pro. I didn't switch to the new tfdata apn sim till about 2 months ago when they launched the LTE service. I have received MMS on my G Pro with that newer SIM.

I've tried a ton of different APN settings I've found on the internet. Nothing has fixed/enabled downloading of MMS.
Everything else works though... I can send MMS and download speeds are great.. just can't download MMS no matter what. The old HSPA sim card worked perfectly though, but I'm not giving up LTE for MMS.
I've tried calling Straight Talk and nothing has helped, they basically told me the device I have isn't guaranteed to get all the features and that it may be my phone that has the problem.
Try leaving the proxy blank. I did this and it seems to be working fine.

Thanks for this suggestion, but....it did nothing to help my lack of mms-ability. I really think ST or att is blocking us as this lack of mms started for me about a month before I got my N3. That correlates with a new att 4g tower installation in my small rural town. Prior to that we were on 2g and I was able to SLOWLY send/receive mms. After the new tower...nothing.
Sms works with all the different apn settings I have tried including this one suggested by enigma2446. Sms even works with the stock att apn while using my ST sim card!

What do you have in the mms proxy?
Try putting in this 66.209.11.33 or 66.209.11.34
< Coming to you live from the planet One X >
mms3.tracfone.com
I've tried both of the 66.209..... before and neither worked for me. It makes no difference what I put in, no mms. It just stopped suddenly the day my N1 went from a 2g to a 4g signal. ST tells me both the N1 and N3 are not mms capable. That's bs as my N1 sent/received mms prior to that signal change. Its not my N3. Its att and ST!

If data or MMS don't work try using 216.155.165.40 in the proxy and MMS proxy fields

I've been google searching this for 3 weeks. 216.155.165.40 didn't fix things. I don't have [email protected]/wcdma setting option under mobile data. Only an on or off checkbox for mobile data. In the *#*# settings it is set for LTE/GSM. I have seen screenshots of the mobile data settings and thought it strange I don't have that option.
Thanks for all of your help!

I FIXED IT!!! I unfroze stock Messaging app and sent mms with it instead of Handcent. I can send and receive mms now, but I have to send through Messaging only. I can receive through both. I don't understand why. I'm just happy it works. Using ST stock APN settings.

Straight Talk MMS Solution (WORKS FOR ME)
Okay...I feel like a dumba$$ posting this. But if it helps someone else then I won't be as embarrassed
First, the solution: If you are using any messaging app other than the stock apk, make sure you enter the MMSC, MMS Proxy, MMS Port settings WITHIN THE APP YOU USE.
Now, My excuse: I have used Handcent SMS for several years in multiple devices (Dell Streak 5, SG Note (1), and this SG Note 3. The Note 3 is the only device that did not automatically use the device APN settings for sending MMS. I never had any trouble until the last month on my N1. That was about the time att upgraded its towers in my town, and when I updated the Handcent apk to Handcent 5. From that point on, I have been unable to send or receive MMS. I have spent countless hours trying different APN settings and searching for solutions. Two days ago, I discovered that I could send MMS from the native Messaging app (I froze the native apk immediately after rooting my N3 without trying it first), but not from any other app (Textra, Chomp, Handcent, 8sms.....). Today, I re-installed Handcent and went through every setting. I entered the MMS settings WITHIN Handcent and gave it a try. IT WORKED!!! I also tried it with 8sms and was successful. I then re-froze the native apk and the other messaging apps still work!
I have never been able to send/receive mms this quickly. As I said in the title, FOR ME, this solves my mms problems completely. I wish I would have gone through ALL of the Handcent settings from the beginning. I know...STUPID!!!
kraz
Thanks for the update krazman. I am having few issues with my N3 APN settings, 4G is not working properly. Can you please share what APNs you are currently using? maybe few screenshots?
Much thanks in advance!
I am using the stock Straight Talk apn settings from the ST website. I never had internet problems. Only messaging app problems. Are you in the USA and on Straight Talk? If Yes, see the ST website. If No, the ST settings will create further problems for you.

Perfect. I just updated my setting with the following from ST's website for Galaxy Phones. Works flawless so far.
APN Settings
FIELD SETTINGS
NAME STRAIGHT_TALK
APN att.mvno
MMSC (i get blocked by xda, please see ST site for this one)
MMS PROXY 66.209.11.33
MMS PORT 80
MMS_APN att.mvno
A co-worker just picked up a Note3 (off contract) and grabbed a ST sim. All I did was use the ST APN that I had in my Note 2. Working great and slamming 4G. Didn't need to adjust the proxy settings. Just throwing this out there...
So you guys are getting LTE with the att.mvno APN? These are with new SIM's labeled for LTE. My LTE sim won't even work unless it's on tfdata. Interesting.
How fast is it? Most people on the tfdata APN are getting sub 20 down. In the same area people on a GoPhone sim will get 30+.

I am using an unlocked ATT note 3 on tmobile. The phone was unlocked through eBay code and rooted through Kingo root. I've tried adding a new apn and changing the apn protocol like some have suggested. However my apn is not changeable. It is greyed out even when I add a new one.
My mms does not work if I have wifi on. It doesn't work sometimes when wifi is off. It just stays stuck on "sending" or "downloading" forever. Any suggestions on a easy fix?

Can you delete the grayed out APN? It definitely sounds like an APN problem.

It's the apn protocol field within the new apn that's grayed out. The one that says ipv4. I need to change it to ipv6 but can't change it.
I get mms on mine and didn't even touch apn when I put the sim card in.

You put an AT&T SIM into a TMobile phone, didn't change the APN, and you still get internet and MMS? Then someone has a server set up REALLY sloppy. A phone registered to AT&T's network should NOT be able to use TMobile's gateway or MMS server. I can understand the MMS server being set up loosely, but not the gateway.

So I recently got a T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 4. As we know, it's unlocked 100% without any special root methods or entering in codes into the dial pad. With that being said, I popped in an LTE Straight Talk SIM card, transferred my old number to the new SIM and configured the APN and for a long while it was working fine with no issues. Then out of the blue, I had no data. It absolutely quit without warning. I go to check the APN settings I had previously and they were gone. I had redone everything and saved the settings. However, when I go back out a menu, no Straight Talk APN. I did the same thing again....and once again no APN settings. Just the default T-Mobile LTE APN.
So I'm at a loss. It was working fine previously and now I cannot set APN settings. I have reset the phone more than once (reluctantly). Any thoughts? Any help would be appreciated since I'm paying those bastards $45 and some change a month for service I cannot get. Also as a note, I can receive and send text messages with no problem. Calling number results in "you are not registered on a network," but I know the fix for that.

Sounds like your phone got black listed. Did you buy it from Tmobile? If you bought it from some one else it was either a stolen phone or the previous own stopped paying for it.

I had bought the phone from a local gas station owner (who had 2 other T-Mobile phones with him). It was working while he showed me the phone (he had gotten several text message and Facebook updates). He then reset it. I bought a Straight Talk SIM kit and went to work. I had working data until the next day. I had played around with some more internal settings, like updating the touch sensitivity and more. Everything was working until I refreshed the Wi-Fi antennae. Don't think that would have anything to do with the 4G/LTE radios or regular antennas. Overall, it was working, so I don't see how it could just magically stop.

If he bought the phone on a lease from T-MOBILE and never fully paid it off T-Mobile would black list it. Or if he sold you a lost\stolen phone.
You can contact T-Mobile or check the IMEI on one of those checker sights to see if it has been blacklisted.
Sent from my SHIELD Tablet using XDA Free mobile app
You can check to see if you're blacklisted by visiting the T-Mobile website and using their IMEI checker. If you're blacklisted you would not be able to place calls. I will attach sample AT&T APN that works for me. I'm on Cricket and not StraightTalk but it may work for you.
For all who helped out on this post, THANK YOU! I figured what my issue was. SIM card is fine and the data settings work as long I don't configure the MCC & MNC settings. Changing the MNC from 260 to 410 is what caused my saved APN to disappear. Not sure why that happens, but if any of you have an idea of why, direct me to the thread that explains this or if you know, quote this reply. And another thing, I am able to send texts and make calls, but due to the location I was in, texts sent at half the speed of smell and making a call was impossible due the phone claiming I was "not on a registered network" even though ST is a network (duh). I have no service issues on my Note 3 N900A when I that. Anyone think it could be because AT&T's device antennas differ from that of a T-Mobile Note 4? Personally, I don't think they would since they are both GSM and operate on the same bands (I would think), even though the Note 4 has "newer" technology. Not really worried about data, texts or calls since I have Wi-Fi in said location.
Again, thanks to those that helped me out. And, again, if anyone has any ideas to the information said above, by all means give your say or direct me to where there is substantial info.
I have an iPhone 5s att. I bought a note 5 to replace it. I put in the Sim card from the iPhone but cannot Sen or receive text, I can make and receive calls for about ten minutes then all of a sudden the 4G signal is gone.. now all I can do is make emergency calls. Can anyone help me? Do I need to create a custom apn?
I would go to att store have them help you. I heard sometimes the same sim won't work after transferring from iPhone. May need new sim. If you want to try on your own, I would add a new apn. Try googling for nextgenphone apn settings

I bought an Unlocked Nexus 6 from the Google Play Store 9 months ago (I love it), I'm using it on Verizon,... I have No problems at all sending MMS photos through messenger while connected to WiFi.
Then today I bought a Verizon Nexus 6 though Costco and MMS only works if Data is enabled. IT WILL NOT SEND PICTURES OVER WiFi??
I've compared the 2 devices, settings, VPN's, both are rooted, both running the same LMY48M, everything seems identical, yet the NEW Nexus 6 will not do WiFi MMS Photos it requires a data connection?
What am I overlooking?
Thanks.

I'll post a quick update if they give a solution.
Verizon has no idea what the problem is
Never seen MMS over WiFi only without a hack. MMS goes over Verizon data server. Unless something changed have to have the Vtext for mms that goes over data. I'm old school. Verizon could have changed their ways.

The carrier has to support WIFI mms. Last I knew only T-Mobile supported it at all. Normally MMS activates Cell Data (even if off) for a second to send the mms and then disables it again.

I've never had MMS work over WiFi. If somebody sends me a MMS (and my mobile data happens to be off, and WiFi is on), I get a "download" message in Messenger app, and clicking that does nothing till I enable mobile data.
My APN shows T-Mobile GPRS (fast.t-mobile.com)
Edit: just found https://support.t-mobile.com/thread/57886
APN type was missing mms. I've added that, and will try out later today. Maybe that'll do the trick.
