Warranty of Z1 - Xperia Z1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, everyone. Well, I'm taking my Z1 to the service centre because the headphones jack port is not working anymore (dunno why) but I wanna be sure of something before taking it there.
My Z1 us rootted and has super user mode; obviously I'm using a rom. Does it avoid the warranty or I can leave it there without any problem?
Thanks for your kindly answers.
Greetings.

I will recommend to flash a Stock FTF and then you are fine. It's hardware for sure but better avoid argues.

[Q] about warranty

Is the software and hardware warranty different? My i9003's LCD is some what ripping off of its foundation and i want it fixed by the service center.. Before i submit it to the sevice center, do i have to revert back to the original FW or is it ok because my problem is just the hardware not software.. Thanks.
Edit: will they check my firmware if my problem is only the LCD which is ripping off its foundation?

It is always safer to flash back to a stock rom just to save any trouble with the service centre. I know some here look for any reason to void a warranty on a handset.
So if it were me I would flash back to stock and remove root and any other tweaks.

No problem. Hope it gets sorted
A quick off-topic question, I purchased a brand new SGS from Ebay, if it breaks, can I send it to a SAMsung service centre for a free repair (after flashing stock firmware
It depends on if your handset is outside of the original warranty period. But the only way to be sure is to bring it to a repair centre and they can tell you straight away.
Did you buy it second hand?

[Q] Xperia SP Protoype

Hi Guys,
I am new to this forum and to be honest I am an Android virgin. I managed to get hold of an Xperia SP C5303 but it is a prototype and clearly states on the label at the back under the cover that is not for sale. It is a very nice phone but I am not sure if I want to keep it or not. My question is is it worth to try and sell it, is it worth anything at all to anyone (a developer maybe), does it have any extra apps etc. which other SP's don't? I can give more info on the phone if anyone interested. Thanks
Mines the same c5303 is the lte version or otherwise known as 4G

Send it for repair. That is the only course of action for water damage if drying the phone out thoroughly hasn't worked.

Yes. As I recall from your previous thread about this, you powered the phone up after water got in, so it's highly likely that something is permanently damaged.

I doubt you would want to apy at the rates they charge. When I wanted to replace my screen on my arc they gave me a crazy estimate of over a £100. Just turn phone off open all flaps and leave it to dry for a few weeks.

he already answered your question
IMO (and I have returned re-locked handsets without question) you should be fine.
Relock and return the faulty unit, regardless of any claims made that you voided warranty by unlocking bootloader if the device is defective you have an un-deniable right as a consumer to warranty. Good luck.

Xperia z1 wifi issues 4.3

Hi all,
I have had horrible wifi issues, each step I took away from the router made me loose 1 bar... I upgraded to 4.3 and I've seen a slight improvement, i can get around 5m away tops but that's it... I thought they would fix this issue but they didn't...
Is anyone else having this issue?
Found any fixes?
Why the hell is it happening and hasnt been fixed yet?
Thanks!
