Despite the cool concept of being able to use your smartphone

Well, after a little over three years with this fantastically versatile phone I'm moving on with an S5.
I couldn't with good conscience, leave without first thanking @tonyp and @pengus77, although there are many many others who have made this community as good as it is, I simply can't mention them all.
Thanks all!
+1 I wanna say the same.
Sold my P990 for $95 to buy a SGS2 for $95 (0.2GHz, 512MB and 0.3" bigger "for free" + looooooots of activity on XDA forum there)
Ah i think i sell this superwar phone and buy a nexus 7

Do you really think, that Android 7.0 will be in the future?
Huh? Why wouldn't it be?
Yeah, but I don't think that it'll come after Android 6. I'm pretty sure that Android 6.x (x≠0) will be next, so that Android 7 will be Android O, not N.
Hopefully yes, hopefully not.
Maybe after 5 years from now?
i wonder what android 7.0 O stand for

It'd be pretty cool if it was in the past. .
But yeah, all I'm really for is something that, at least, unifies messaging in an iMessages like way. The closet thing I've found so far app wise is the Disa app, and although it does the best it can do, I still want more.
For some years will be android 10..

hi
Sorry to post in x98 forum but I have not found separate forum for model x80hd.
I have bought it recently for my children. It's as usual full of Chinese bloatware.
Where can I find clean, updated android rom for flash?
I have also x98 air 3g and thanks to mirek190 I am able to have fun wit clean, great performance android on this. Any help for x80hd?
This is new version with dual boot with Windows 10.
Thanks

Also an owner here, and after some tinkering with it, I can honestly say that it is a great value for money purchase. The android installation that comes with it, is not too bad imo, but unfortunately even after installing nova launcher and disabling\uninstalling all the chinese apps, it has battery drain issues(about 1% for every passed having the screen off, and that with all the radios disabled and green mode on). Win10 runs without a hic and gets 1-1.5 more hours of usage(I am pretty sure it's because the minimum brightness in android is way more than it should be)!!, but I much prefer android for news reading and media consumption purposes. I would love an aosp clean android rom for it, but it seems there are currently none to be found. So until a dev does something about it, try to root it(I think the minitool for x98 works for it) and get rid of all the unwanted apps by hand. You can even regain all the Win10 space(although most ppl prefer the reverse), by reinstalling the original ROM after meddling with the partition tables. There are guides for the x98 and the procedure seems to be the same. Do you also have battery drain issues?
Kind regards, Prodromos
http://developer.android.com/preview/index.html Google has released developer previews. Hopefully someone will port them for our Mako
Managed to get my hands on a used Nexus 4 that is no longer needed. Would absolutely love a port.
Yes, I so hope that some dev will port this to our N⁴. Android N seems great, can't wait.
Please someone make a port for our Mako. I'm currently running Chroma with 6.0.1 and I'm sure it can handle it.
Would love to see this come through for the Nexus 4. At most, I believe that Android N is the last breath for the Nexus 4. Good luck to anyone working on this!
Anyone know if its same bootloader and kernel as M? If it is im sure it can be done
Looks good but I have to leave my n⁴.

I have a feeling that in maybe a week or twos time there will probably be an alpha/beta port. And heck yes I'm going to try it out if so, it looks very good and such an improvement over Marshmallow
Please somewone make a port for N4
According to this article
http://www.androidauthority.com/nexus-5-nexus-7-2013-679150/
if we get our hands on Nexus 7 (2013) Android N dev preview it should be really easy to port it to N4 (just like Android L dev preview port back in 2014)
Please someone make N port for N4
XD

You're a power user. Can the Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro (Redmi K30 Pro) keep up? Rate this thread to express how "healthy" the development scene is for the Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro (Redmi K30 Pro). A higher rating indicates available root methods, kernels, and custom ROMs.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
At two months later from launching, there isn't any active dev project for this beauty. Very sad!
Yeh.....device three partially hidden.... Impossible to do anything
But even q/a section is dead... And no complains... Must be low demand for Poco
It's mind blowing, with these specs for that price I'd imagine the dev scene would be thriving like it did for the first F1.

Agree...i paid 400euro for mine .. and let me tell you... It is a beast of a phone... Only thing that i miss is micro sd card.... Otherwise super fast....
But the support we are getting is almost none existant....
I came out of era galaxy s1... When chainfire started developing su....and we had 30 roms easy... I swear i was flashing the phone twice a day... And it took 30 min each... Not like now..
Here at this stage...all we have is a hope...that some developer will get his hands on poco.... And do the magic....

Can you explain what you mean? Is there something inherently wrong with this phone that's making developing custom ROMs for it inherently hard or even impossible?

Source code being partially hidden....
No kernel no development...we need to wait till its done.....
Nothing wrong with phone but nobody is going to build a rom from scratch for free...so we need to wait for the structure to be released

Yes...common practice nowadays.... So they unique software can not be copied or ammended immediately after release.
Even samsung does it sometimes.... Hide parts....
Android is open source....aka they hide only bits...but important bits....
Again...we have to wait..sooner or later they will disclose it

Well this is worrisome.. hopefully there's still hope for good ROM developers create one for this device. Was buying because of the track record of poco F1 thriving community, didn't expect this at all. :fingers-crossed:

And we got it. It's good, is working and without official support... What means 'official' in out times? Is any custom rom, twrp, custom kernel is 'official'? Interesting discussion can be, racja ?

In fact, the problem with TWRP right now is that still doesn't support Android 10 launched devices features like dynamic partitions which is the new way Android manages system and other sensitive partitions (like vendor), so even OnePlus devices doesn't have a fully working and functional TWRP...
Anyway, maybe we just need to spam Poco board through Twitter to get some attention around development for f2 pro
I had a Mi Mix 1,2&3, there were some custom rom but they were all awful, poor performance or poor battery life. That's why i stopped buying Xiaomi with their ****ty MIUI

I want to stay tuned with this forum in order to buy a phone only after there is an UNBRICK procedure. I am tired to risk for these phones watching only the specs value for the money. Is not enough to have a complete and durable experience.
