You are obviously doing something wrong.
1. Download Pure Xperia Z2 AGAIN and be sure that the download completes.
2. Install CWM or TWRP
3a. Wipe Cache, Wipe Dalvik Cache , Data/Factory Reset, System, Android Secure (FOR TWRP)
3b.Wipe Cache, Wipe Dalvik Cache, Data/Factory Reset (FOR CWM)
4. Flash the ROM and READ EVERYTHING carefully and follow Instructions.
5. If you READ THE INSTRUCTIONS they say to Wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache after instalation completes
5. WAIT the time it takes for the 1st boot
6. Back here if it takes more than 1 hour unsuccessfully

I wipe/delete factory reset and wipe dalvik cache. Flash the zip, then restore data using cwm. It works for me.
I just did wipe cache & dalvik cache, installed the zip and it went OK.
I took a nandroid backup first, just in case, but it seems to be fine.

In cwm, choose advanced restore (in restore and backup), then choose restore data.
Since I can't post in dev forum:
So far I've seen Cyanogenmod9 screenshots on Touchpad only in landscape. Is it possible to use ICS on touchpad in portrait mode? Could somebody with alpha1/2 post a screenshot?

Just make a full wipe

Give me the situation. Is the Bootloader opening or the recovery opening? If yes, good news, PM me. You can get a twinkie for yourself and recover from bootloops.
If none of the above works then try the PC Odin Method.
Link is here for extra read.
IF CWM Works:
1. Download any ROM which is safe as of now. (Eg. AceDroid )
2. Go to Recovery (that blue droid screen )
3. Wipe Data/Fac Reset
4. Wipe Cache
5. Wipe Dalvik Cache.
6. Flash the Ultimate Kernel Cleaning Script. Find it here. Read well before performing this.
7. Flash the ROM.
8. Reboot.
9. If FCs Occur go for Wipe Cache.
The full wipe did the job. Thanks guys

Are you guys sure, that you are having a P970? Not any other version of Optimus Black or Bright? Just wipe Data, Cache and Dalvik before the installation. Wait for the installation to finish, hit reboot phone and it should work properly. I cant explain it to myself otherwise...
Yes i got p970 2.3.4
