LG Optimus 2X SU660 Stuck on LG logo - LG Optimus 2x

I am a newbie here at XDA.
Here's the story. I have an SU660 O2x phone that is stuck on the LG Logo. Before that happened, I was running on Froyo and everything works well. When my brother updated my ROM to CM9, the phone lost all its audio capabilities on the speaker and headset jack. Music, notifications, ringtones all gone. Even making calls is a no go. I couldn't hear the person on the other side of the line.
So I decided to flash back to stock ICS. I have tried to use the LG Mobile Updater tool. That finishes the firmware upgrade but everytime the phone tries to boot, it gets stuck on the LG logo. I have tried to access the recovery mode but all I get is the android logo with a spinning hyperbola on its tummy, afterwards it goes back to the LG logo screen and remains there. I don't get any options like wiping data or cache or anything.
But the funny thing is, even if it was stuck on the LG logo, my PC detects it and I can use ADB commands. But same problem. I try "adb reboot recovery", goes to the LG logo. "adb reboot download" does the same thing. I can't even do the adb shell command that wipes the device. It gives me "permission denied"
I am at a loss....I don't know how to bring this phone back to its working state. Am I lacking something? Do I need to go back to Froyo or GB to get this to work? I cannot find working links to download all the stock ROMS.
Please help. This is the only phone I have... :crying:
Thanks

I have found the stock 2.3.4 ROM on a vietnamese site. It flashed successfully with smartflash. Now the problem is...
1st - Phone booted to the 1st LG Logo
2nd - Phone booted to the second LG logo (with progress bar)
3rd - Phone showed boot animation. (but is stuck on the boot animation for like 7 minutes.)
Phone now is stuck on the boot animation with an android logo moving saying LG OPTIMUS 2X.
Have I done something wrong?
EDIT: Tried to flash stock ICS rom using th AIO Toolkit.. Same thing. Stuck on LG logo. What's wrong with my phone?

Hmm try to repartition your phone to oldbootloader and flash temasek cm7 maybe this will work

i have searched xda and tried 3 diff patched ap cp bin files and not got success pl answer thanks to all for reading this question waiting for some reply from the xda members and cici rom author pl if he reads this .
flash again via smartflash, you've messed up with the wiping step.
maybe some wrong step in using the smartflash tool.. use the "rom copy" option, choose ap, cp, then start.. just that.. so far, that tool always unbrick my phone from any condition..
Screen may be broken
try again by smartflash but only checked rom from provider and when will be bad you have to go lg service
Thanks all iki duke supi
it was hardware fault the touch plate panel was not working got it working in 2 days from LG service center.
So the actually problem was solved
Than I again root with smart flash and when rebooted in cwm just mounted SD card copied Zeus on it and installed Zeus 5. 35 thanks all of you and Zeus creator
At present all working fine
Fast stable ok thanks again all.

[Q] Semi-bricked / Smartflash tool not working

Hi
I'm helping out a friend, which O2X I have rooted and flashed WIUI on to (I previously owned one myself too)
For some reason the phone started to get hot after a while and used up the battery fast, until one day where he couldn't even turn it on again.
Now, he has been trying to fix it himself with NVflash, but no luck, so now its up to me and you guys.
I have used the smartflash tool and flashed the EURO OPEN stock ROM and everything went succesfull, but when the phone reboots, the LG logo appears, and it bootloops.
I tried both with battery and no battery in, but still no cigar.
Any suggestions what I should try next?
PS: If I try to turn on the phone normally, nothing happens. not even a blink from the screen, but I can get into S/W mode and APX
Try lg update tool, choose recover as option, then choose imei as entrance

EDIT: The software says the update is not compatible (dunno if translation is correct, but you get the point)
Update is aborted :/
No more suggestions on what to do?
Tried:
NVflash
Smartflash (Flashed EURO OPEN rom)
LG Update tool (recover function)
The phone still won't boot.
Smartflash is the only solution like you said that the phone can boot in s/w mode try to dig some answer in smartflash thread or search in google i know you can find some answer there

Assuming you have carried out the procedures correctly, looks like this device is actually defective. Probably not what you want to hear, I know, but...
Before giving up completely, you can NVFlash it again (using the original 10C NVFlash from Modaco) and post the log here. Wouldn't get my hopes up though.

Urgent - seriously bricked LG P970! Plz help

My LG Optimus Black P970 is bricked, its stuck at LG boot logo n I have already tried the following methods to unbrick:
1.Smartflash (flashing fls & bin files- flashes successfully but still stuck at LG logo)
2.LG Update tool - Recovery mode- flashes successfully but still stuck at LG logo)
3.KDZ (fails, coz phn not booting in emergency mode)
The guy at service center said the circuit may have been damaged coz he was unable to find the COM port (but I still get a COM port automatically in Smartflash tool) for his official LG upgrade tool. Do u have any idea if its possible to unbrick this device?
I have had such bootloops earlier, but I solved it using CWM recovery when I had it installed, while I used the recovery mode of LG Update tool (B2C) when I didnt have CWM recovery installed. This time nothing's working!!!

Did you already try to boot to recovery via adb? If not, do it abd restore a nandroid then. What ROM did you have on your phone before it bricked and why did it brick?
And please someone report this thread, so it gets moved to Q&A, I cant, because I am on the phone...

Unfortunately, adb is not recognizing the device after bricking, but LG Update tool and Smartflash both are.
I had flashed 4-5 unofficial Jellybean and ICS ROMs in a span of a week before bricking. The latest OS I had flashed was LG official Gingerbread (which is when I lost root and CWM) n everything was working great, then I again badly wanted Jellybean, so I flashed a patched 2.3 OS using ROM converter (only to bring root again, coz this time unlockroot could not root it) n since then I have flashed using all the above mentioned methods countlessly, to ultimately brick it badly.
Left battery out of phone hole night, then put it in, try to start phone. This helped me. Is good to have battery charged.
Good luck.

I just installed the official ICS using Smartflash like u said, but my phone could not unbrick . I guess it might me a hardware failure. Any ideas?
I have a similar question: my friend wanted me to upgrade his FroYo software to ICS on her P970, and it kept failing the upgrade and it now cannot boot, having "Software upgrade" sign on the screen all the time...
Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
To niraj87:
To have battery charged at least 90%.

Just to make sure, download md5.exe (if you are on windows) and run the command from the folder (exe and the downloader file in same folder)
md5 Name_of_downloaded_rom.zip (or anything)
You will have to have the original md5 hashes (if you download from dev host you can have it from the download page)

Did you try to hold the - key down while plugging in a usb? (pull out your battery) if that succeeds then you should use kdz flash tool to revert and AIO Tool by OS_Hacking to get a proper recovery.

[Q] LG Optimus 2x stuck after flashing

Hi,
I’m trying to upgrade my Wind Mobile Optimux 2x from 2.2 to Android 4.2.2 (CyanogenMod Nightlies). The Clockworkmod identifies my phone as LG G2X; I tried to manually select Optimus 2x but flash recovery failed. I kept it as LG G2X but each time that I tried to flash with a P990 ROM (Optimux 2x), it was unsuccessful and I had to factory reset it by pressing Power and volume down key.
This time, I selected P999 ROM (LG G2X) as I read that it’s the same as Optimus 2x for T-Mobile...but now it stuck at the LG logo (with blue/purple background lines) and pressing Power and down key doesn’t work anymore and it stops at logo again instead of resetting.
If I hold the volume down key until second LG screen, it shows: S/W Upgrade Please wait while upgrading... and it stops there forever...
What should I do to resolve the problem? And is there a way to go back to factory setup mode?
Thanks

First of all, check the sticker under your battery for whether your phone P990 or not. Please let me know what type of phone do you have P999 or P990

It's P999. I spend several hours to research about it and tried different applications...One-Click-G2x-recovery-flasher-04-28-12 and CWM_5.0.2.8_P999 cannot flash the device and give the partition download fail error, maybe because I previously used AIO-P990-ToolKit_v5.6 to nvflash it as APX drivers are installed and USB cable is working well. I tried different custom recovery versions using AIO, ICS-cwm-6.0.3.1, ICS-cwm-6.0.2.5 (before knowing that I have to use G2X), ICS-cwm-5.0.2.8e and ICS-cwm-5.0.2.0 but was not able to flash it as it goes back to recovery mode after rebooting, instead of running the new O/S.

I can do for you a nvflash for your p999. It will recreat all partitions and etc and will flash cwm p999 recovery to your device. Search custom roms on the optimus g2x forums. It will take some time since i have to download a stock p999 rom and gather the necessary files
Download my attachment and run flash.bat. It repartitionate your phone to p999 layout and flash cwm as well. Do not flash p990 custom roms with cwm to your phone, because p990 and p999 partition layout is different.

Thank you for your reply. I finally could flash it using G2XCleanUpBatch5028. It turned out that CM7 unlike what I thought is 2.3.7 not 4.x and I already found some problems in it...I'm trying to find the original Wind Mobile ROM and a way to install it back on my phone to keep it as my factory reset backup to return back to it in case that I could not find a reliable custom ROM.
By the way, I'm wondering what's the difference between your attachment and the one (G2X_V21E_00_NVFlash) that comes with 450MB ext3_system.img file?

My version of nvflash I skipped the system image, because I assumed that you are going to flash a custom rom. So that 445 mb differnce is teh missing android OS.
You can find your original rom at http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/auth_model_check2.jsp?esn=0000000000000000 , replace the zeroes with your IMEI number. It will give you the download link for your current stock rom. It is in kdz format. If you having troubles flashing kdz, then give me the link to your kdz and I am going to make you a nvflash rom from that.
